Just looked online and bleeding gums can come with pms! Who knew! It's news to me anyway-bloody hormones! At least I know not to put any weight on it now xxx

CShandy01 · 06/10/2021 08:24

Morning everyone! How are we all doing today?

plantbasedlondoner · 06/10/2021 09:16

Morning everyone! For everyone who asked @CShandy01 @wannabeamummysobad @MrsRosaline @newtolineofduty So quick thoughts on pregnacare, yes it is good and covers a really good range of vitamins and minerals in good amounts! The original one does not contain calcium (fun fact - we do not need more calcium during pregnancy, the recommended intake does not change until breastfeeding and that's because our bodies actually get MORE efficient at absorbing calcium from the same amount of food, it's quite magical really ) The original one is also not vegan, it is vegetarian but the gummies are vegan. Compared to a lot on the market, it is actually cheaper, 3 for 2 at Boots I think. I don't love the fact it contains random fillers such as maltodextrin etc. so I go for a more expensive vegan prenatal but really there is no evidence to suggest prenatals can mess up your cycle so don't panic at all. Sometimes the iron present can cause constipation and nausea so best to take the supplement on a full tummy with a meal that contains some fat (e.g. avocados, nuts, olive oil) so you can best absorb the Vitamin D etc Smile It also helps prevent nausea this way. I hope this helps! I think taking a prenatal is a great idea if you can afford it and at the very least, Vit D and folic acid but check with your doctor as some people need higher amounts of folic acid e.g. if they have coeliac disease or previous history of spina bifida in their family. Again this is not medical advice, just hope it is helpful Smile

So glad everyone here is well into their 30s too, I was looking at other threads and people were panicking about their fertility in their mid 20s 😟 It is so reassuring. Also @CShandy01 don't worry about the age difference, I have so many friends who are really close to their siblings with a 4/5 year age gap, it actually seems to reduce the competitiveness too!

Nikkic2123 · 06/10/2021 09:38

Wow, u have been busy 🤣
The pregnacare prenatal lengthened my LP.
Q10 and VitD caused spotting pre af and short LP
I’m now just on the plain and simple folic acid
Seven seas brought ovulation forward from CD16 to CD14

newtolineofduty · 06/10/2021 10:09

Hey everyone! So I'm on 12dpo and this is where I start to get really miserable! I hate these few days-questioning whether I have cramps or not/can feel AF coming or not! Not due until sat/sun and I'm staying chilled/don't feel preoccupied by it until I feel a twinge or minor cramp or something but then I just feel down rather than excited as I start thinking about how I'll feel when I see AF again! X

wannabeamummysobad · 06/10/2021 10:26

@plantbasedlondoner thanks for that update. Tbh, it's the most thought through/thorough explanation I've received to date.
I've mentioned to MW and close friends/mum that I haven't had any real nausea so maybe that's partly because I've always taken my preconception/pregnancy pregnacare Max vitamin on a full stomach following a balanced meal at lunch or dinner.

On the age front. I'm actually baffled by the number of MN posts by 21/22 year olds actively TTC and worried about fertility. I only graduated at 22 and babies of my hadn't crossed my mind until 29/30 at
which point I started the hunt for a DH 😂🤣. Though maybe they are on to something as I haven't even given birth to this one and already thinking about conceiving the next (will be 35 1/2 yrs on my EDD so 36/37 minimum for the next) and overlapping nursery fees... will my mind ever rest again ??

wannabeamummysobad · 06/10/2021 10:27

Fingers crossed for more BFPs this month!

Nikkic2123 · 06/10/2021 10:41

NEWLINEOFDUTY

I’m not an early tester, when I feel like this I test, seeing AF is better than seeing a negative test, seeing a negative or positive test is better than the self torture of not knowing.

Would you consider doing a test?

newtolineofduty · 06/10/2021 11:00

@wannabeamummysobad if I could offer any advice hun it would be to start as soon as you feel ready rather than worrying about nursery fees so long as you wouldn't end up on the breadline! It wouldn't be for long either with them getting some free hours at 3 etc!

@Nikkic2123 the worst thing for me is looking at a negative test so I honestly prefer this torture to a negative test! I'd rather wait and see AF I think and I purposefully don't have any frers in! X

Aims1991 · 06/10/2021 11:25

Morning everyone, I'm now 7dpo. I don't really ever symptom spot for a BFP I more try to find signs of AF sounds daft but means I don't build my hopes up. I have relatively short cycles around 25/27 days so I always know around now if AF is on way. Fortunately not symptom for anything just now🤷🏻‍♀️

CShandy01 · 06/10/2021 11:35

@plantbasedlondoner thanks so much for this advice! I was walking up and down the aisle in Tesco wondering what to get. I compared a lot of the ingredients to your normal vitamins and the amount per gummy to the pregnacare tablet was off in a lot of places. Not enough folic acid for example, or too much of something else. So I decided to play it safe and go for pregnacare and see what happens. I'd rather go with a brand with the recommended doses then mix and match it. Well woman was also something I looked at, but they had different vitamins that I wasn't entirely sure about. Going to start them today 🙂🙂

CShandy01 · 06/10/2021 11:37

On a totally random note, I've noticed that since I've been TTC my periods have changed. They're SUPER heavy the first 2 days, and then sort of go very very light for 2-3 days. I used to be more spread out over 4-5 days. And it's like super red too. Anyone else had this? Mind you my periods have changed so much since DD so nothing would surprise me!

CShandy01 · 06/10/2021 11:38

@newtolineofduty god that's exactly how I felt chick. 12-13dpo is like the real kick in the teeth for me. I really have to restrain myself from testing and getting my hopes up, but it's so hard 😩😩 how are you feeling?

newtolineofduty · 06/10/2021 11:40

@CShandy01 it's the worst time isn't it! I just feel how I usually feel in the lead up to AF! Hungry, irritable and abit blurgh! X

CShandy01 · 06/10/2021 15:28

HOW HUGE ARE THE PREGNACARE CAPSULES?!?! Bloody hell they're like the size of horse tranquillisers 😂😂😂😂 when DH saw them be thought they were suppositories 🍑🍑🤣🤣

MrsRosaline · 06/10/2021 16:03

Oh 😬 I didn't realise pregnacare weren't vegan! What vegan ones are you using, if you don't mind me asking?? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Better go and change now...

wannabeamummysobad · 06/10/2021 16:30

@CShandy01 they are massive aren't they! If you decide to take pregnacare max after your BFP you'll be taking 3 large pills daily. I'm still shocked.

@newtolineofduty I know you are right. DH and I are currently tying to buy a family home and thoughts about baby 2/overlapping fees have convinced us to reduce our max price (we are London based so prices are wild anyway).

Keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

hoola23 · 06/10/2021 17:16

@plantbasedlondoner thanks for the tips and info on pre natals. Maybe I should take this more seriously but my gp said vit d and folic acid is all you really need. As long as you don't live offline FD group you will be fine. I should prob look into it more though!!

@newtolineofduty 9 or 10 DPO for me today as I'm not quite sure when ov was. Loads of ewcm today which is very strange don't you think?! No twinges or anything though so I'm sticking with my hypothesis!

CShandy01 · 06/10/2021 17:30

@wannabeamummysobad @newtolineofduty it sounds awful but we actually planned to start trying just before DD turned 2 purely for the nursery thing. At least this way now she'll be 3 if/when no.2 comes along, so that's a weight off our shoulders 🙂🙂

@hoola23 how are you feeling chick? To be honest I was taking folic acid only before, but DH said it can't hurt to take some more. He made the good point that maybe I didn't need it the first time round because I wasn't as shattered, and of course now dinners mostly consist of "food that DD will eat" 😂😂

hoola23 · 06/10/2021 17:44

@CShandy01 hahaha you've defo got a point there! I did start with a proper pre natal but they made me feel funny and give me hear palpitations! So sacked them off!

I'm feeling a bit better today, went into the office as I had some presentations to do. Hate public speaking with a passion! Just feel in limbo waiting for AF so I can write this month off. It's so boring all this waiting! Feeling super tired today too, wfh seriously makes you so lazy so a day in the office is actually strenuous🤣. How are you doing, when's fertile week? Xx

hoola23 · 06/10/2021 18:21

I did an opk because of the ewcm and I've got a high reading?! Do you think I'm gearing up to ovulate again?!

Aims1991 · 06/10/2021 20:03

So I'm 7dpo. Got some pain the left side this evening and loads of EWCM🤷🏻‍♀️

hoola23 · 06/10/2021 20:06

@Aims1991 where abouts is your pain and what does it feel like? Have you had this before?

I've been having ewcm on and off this month during the TWW

Aims1991 · 06/10/2021 20:08

@hoola23 just sharp shooting pain on left side. Not very low down. Can't say I've felt them before. They aren't sore or constant
