@CShandy01 it's crazy isn't it! I think about it a lot!! That's prob the problem, the over thinking 🤣 I really think the best way that doesn't kill you both is every other day from cd7/8 and then the two days before ov and including if you can. I think it's good to get going early so there's fresh-ish sperm. Could be all crap though, I have no idea what I'm doing 🤣

@newtolineofduty we've all had loads of ewcm this month, so odd! I wonder why. I also thought omg what I'm there's two eggs this month and that's why there's more. Sure that's not actually it! I wouldn't mind twins to be fair! Then I wouldn't have to start TTC again 🤣

Glad DH managed to give you the goods! Such a stressful moment when you think shit he's not gonna do it arghhhh!

@newtolineofduty @hoola23 isn't it mental how our bodies let us know that it's time to get down with producing EWCM?!?! Maybe I've never really paid much attention to it in the past, but this did seem like a crazy month for the stuff.

If this month isn't successful (which I'm certain is the case) then I'm not sure whether I'll go back on the OPK's or not. It's been quite nice getting to know my body and its signals. Maybe I'll even try the SMEP!

@hoola23 I used to love the idea of twins and then when I had my daughter I was like no way!!!!!! I've literally no idea how people do it!!! I've just found out I'm going to be an auntie to twins which I'm SO excited about because I get the twin cuddles but can give them back! 😂 xxx

@CShandy01 I find the whole reproduction fascinating when you think back to evolution and how we have evolved to this. The whole of the body actually fascinates me!

Morning everyone! How are we all doing today?

So I did a silly thing just now and I read that some women have had a positive OPK test around 5-6dpo and it resulted in a pregnancy. So what did I STUPIDLY do?! Rummaged around the bathroom, found 3 cheap OPK sticks lying around in the bottom of an old toiletry bag, and took one. OF COURSE IT WAS NEGATIVE AND OF COURSE IT WAS A STUPID IDEA! Honestly man I don't even know what came over me?!?! I am adamant this cycle is a no go. Just got to keep being negative as I don't want to get my hopes up.

But on a positive note, DH bought me some flowers and said I don't get enough treats. That set me off and I cried 😂😂😂 he must think I'm mental.

@CShandy01 I'm feeling great!! My fancy schmancy monitor gave me my official first peak reading backed up with the cheapies and DTD last night so not much more I can do. Aside from DTD again for the next two nights. I actually think I'm only a couple days delayed from a normal cycle so I'm proud of my body!! Having said that, as much as I have this really positive feeling this month might be successful, my realistic brain is kicking in and talking me down that it won't happen. Time will tel!! 3 week wait for me as I can't test early and go through what I did last month. How's everyone else? X

@hoola23 ooooooh exciting times!! So good about your peak 🙂🙂 it's nice to know so you can literally do all you can, then you don't get any "did we do enough" type of feelings (which is exactly what I'm going through right now!)

I'm the same: can't think positive, can't go through the hype of "maybe I am pregnant" to be greeted by a giant white space.

@CShandy01 we all have our mental data during the TTC journey! But that was so sweet of DH. My second cycle I asked DP to hide my pregnancy tests but I searched everywhere like he was a crazy woman whilst he was out and found them! X

I was wondering if any of y'all know anything about ovulation spotting? I'm having some trouble with mine and could really do with some advice to tide me over until I can phone the doctor tomorrow

@hereforthefood I've calculated that AF should be here around the 5th or 6th October, so I'm going to wait and test on the 7th if she hasn't showed her face 🙂 although I am certain she will come, so I'm holding off buying anything until then!

I always get ovulation pains, so I know which side and when I will ovulate. Trouble is for me it's not immediate (so I won't ovulate straight after). It's usually the day before. Biggest sign for me is the EWCM - build and builds over 3 - 4 days and I can tell because it'll suddenly decrease, so I know I've ovulated just before. So as soon as I see EWCM I basically will DTD everyday of it.

Misread your post. I thought meant like how to look out for ovulation 😂😂 I've never had any bleeding until AF shows, but I did have a friend who had spotting quite a bit during her cycle around 4 days prior to ovulation and then 3-4 days after. But this was due to her coming off the mini pill and it took a while to settle down. How long have you been off contraception? What were you using before?

@CShandy01 I'm expecting AF on the 7th so I'll be testing around then too!

I came off my pill on the last day of June and have had a withdrawal bleed and 2 AF's since then. My cycle has been a regular 32 days (OD on CD 16/17) since, so I'm not too worried about the pill having messed anything up.

However, I've been getting really erratic spotting throughout the months since coming off contraception, lots of it before and after my period, and then several sessions of 1 or 2 days of spotting mid-cycle. This month I haven't had anything so I expected to my cycle was going back to normal but then on CD 17 I began to spot again. I'm now on CD 21 and still spotting, so that's 5 days of really bright/crimson red blood, and lots of it too. It's soaked my underwear a couple of times but mostly is just when I wipe. I'm really confused now as to when (if) I ovulated as I normally only get ovulation spotting for a day or two so can be pretty sure it happens around that time. I'm quite concerned that something is up tbh. This isn't, and has never been, normal for me, I'm hoping to find some positive experiences of this on here!

@CShandy01 @newtolineofduty bit concerned that I've got ovulation pain beginning on both sides very noticeably! Isn't it supposed to swap sides every month? Last month was def my right side but I'm now feeling it both sides- any ideas?! X

@hereforthefood have you seen a practice nurse (as opposed to a doctor) about it? I'm not really sure what advice to give about it or how to help as I haven't had that myself. The only person I know who has had something similar was someone on the mini pill, not the combined pill. Have you had blood tests to look at your hormone levels? That's the only thing I can really think of, sorry chick xx

@hoola23 I used to have that when I was younger, it's only as I got older that I had pain on either side that alternated. Apparently it's something to do with FSH and stimulating both ovaries. It's quite common in younger people. It could mean that you only produce one egg or you could produce two, one being like a "dud" if that makes sense?

@hoola23 that's what I've been like this month hun!!!! I used to believe that each ovary alternated each month but recently read that the same ovary can release month after month. This is the first month out of five I've noticed anything from my left! It's usually always the right! X

Hi!New here! TTC baby #2.First baby took 18 months to conceive,have been trying 10 months this time round….Tired of waiting! Using OPK’s and watching out for EWCM but otherwise just eating well and taking pregnacare which I felt great with last time.Keeping fingers crossed for this cycle!

@CShandy01 @newtolineofduty it just feels very odd! And quite painful whereas normally it's more of a Stitch type pain, almost like there's air in there? I hope that makes sense 🤣 at least I know it's happening I guess!

@hoola23 mines only very fleeting-just periodic twinges across a couple of days-If that's definitely what it is!!! @CShandy01 yes got my peak on Thursday so think I'm 2dpo! Got my booster jab tomo so not testing until period afew days late incase that messes up my cycle! X

@hoola23 glad you got your peak chick!! 🙂🙂 @newtolineofduty I swear that my second jab impacted my ovulation cycle: I went 31 days last time, the longest I've ever gone. Although stress could have caused it too.

What do you lovely ladies identify as ovulation day? The last day of EWCM or the day after? Or second peak day? Xxx

@newtolineofduty I'm pretty sure I ovulate 24 hours after I get my first peak which is why I use the cheapies alongside the cbfm. I got high yesterrday morning but peak on my cheapies in the eve and now 24 hours later I've got ov pain so I think it's 24h after first peak on cheapies not on cb. It could be the ov pain is it's about to happen though too so could also be later. I read today that although the egg lasts for 24 hours, it has to be fertilised in the first 12 hours apparently! That's why sex before ovulation is the most important!

@CShandy01 I know! Surprised actually as I thought it would be like cd20b but cd15 is only 2days late or so! It's now dawned on me that the next 3 weeks are going to be torture! I'm not going to symptom spot but if af doesn't show, I'm going to be terrified to test. Even if I got a BFP, it's going to be an anxious wait. Wouldn't get excited until I had a private early scan I think this time!!
