@newtolineofduty hahahaha I wish my arse was fantastic!

FirsttimeEm · 20/09/2021 20:10

@wannabeamummysobad I've had a look at other opk and they're completely different to my Fitbit. I think I've completely missed the chance with this cycle but I'm going to get a clear blue kit ready for next month. Reading everyone's cm tracking aswell has given a little confidence that I will be able to follow it.
Can I ask what vitamins everyone is using. I've been taking proceive that last 4 months and it's amazing made my periods more regular so hoping it will help with the TTC part of things 😊

CShandy01 · 20/09/2021 20:34

@FirsttimeEm I'm literally just taking folic acid as it was recommended by my doctor (who I was seeing about my back and happened to mention that we were TTC No.2), and that's it. Knocked back on the caffeine a bit too 🙂

CShandy01 · 20/09/2021 20:38

@hoola23 I love that you wrote fantastic arse 😂😂😂 excellent typo! And I'm glad to hear you're more chilled about this month too 🙂🙂

@newtolineofduty it's so hard not to google everything about hormones and signs of vitamin deficiency. I've genuinely had to stop myself as I was driving myself mental. I also was adamant I was pregnant 2 months running because I had all the symptoms, and that didn't happen. Honestly I think our bodies like to test us!

wannabeamummysobad · 20/09/2021 20:40

@FirsttimeEm I took pregnacare before conception (purple pack) for 3months prior to TTC (mainly because we were waiting until post wedding to start trying) and conceived my first cycle (I used the CB OPK). Some women complained about their cycle being interrupted but I never experienced that.

I'm now taking pregnacare max and intend to continue until DC arrive in April. They are more expensive than non branded/individual vitamins but I'm saving money not drinking 🤣

FirsttimeEm · 20/09/2021 20:47

@wannabeamummysobad Congratulations!!! First cycle that's amazing also love that you justify it with money from not drinking 🤣 sounds like we're very similar. I was waiting post wedding as well (Which was 2 weeks ago) and now we're straight to it!

@CShandy01 I was having complications with having stop the depo contraception and hadn't had a period in 18 months, I read that some women had success with proceive so gave it ago and within 4 months I was regular! Could be coincidence but now I'm torn if to carry in our drop down to folic acid and save money.

CShandy01 · 20/09/2021 21:28

@FirsttimeEm @wannabeamummysobad I was the same when I got married. Literally started trying straight away because I doubled packed my pill because I didn't want to have a period on my honeymoon, and the whole taking two packs did NOT do me any good. I felt horrifically poorly, so came off on honeymoon. 2 months later I was pregnant after just using clear blue pink OPK's and I took nothing else.

This time round is different because I'm older, way more tired and drained from DD and I'm assuming my hormones are a bit mental too. My doctor said taking folic acid can't hurt, and besides I'd be taking it in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy anyway. I don't bother with pregnacare because I think they're an absolute rip off.

plantbasedlondoner · 20/09/2021 21:50

@FirsttimeEm @wannabeamummysobad Hi! I'm taking the Viridian pregnancy supplement as it is plant-based and has a good amount of nutrients such as Vitamin D which is important for fertility in general - the most important one is the folic acid (400mg) when trying to conceive :) They just announced today in the UK that all white flour is going to be fortified with it too!

So thanks to all your amazing tips @hoola23 @CShandy01@newtolineofduty
I started OPKs today for the first time today (CD8), the CB ones are nice and easy although am trying to DTD every other day anyway... DH is much more determined this time too after that Ovulation video 🤣 also tracking CM and using my period tracker app. Weirdly, it has made me feel a bit more in control and more relaxed but let's see how it goes :) How are you all feeling?

FirsttimeEm · 20/09/2021 22:07

@plantbasedlondoner proceive is also plant based, I just noticed your name nice to have to speak to someone plant based TTC. Everyone in my life constantly telling me I'll need to eat meat to have a healthy pregnancy 🙁

Good luck with the CB OPK would love to hear your experience with them

hoola23 · 21/09/2021 08:35

@plantbasedlondoner sounds like you're right on track! The cb ones a super easy to use although they do break the bank every month!

@CShandy01 @newtolineofduty DTD will start tonight! My apps predict ov CD11 this month which is a little earlier than normal for me. Cbfm this morning was still low! Very odd as normally it's high by now and my cheap ones had a good line but obv not positive yet. Very possible I just won't ovulate this month too so I literally have no expectations this month which means zero stress about it all which feels good for once!

CShandy01 · 21/09/2021 08:39

@hoola23 woop woop on the DTD train!! My CM is all over the place so I haven't got a scoobies anymore. It was super clear and stretchy yesterday afternoon, then went thicker and cloudy, and then again back to the super clear. Dear god body JUST CHOOSE ONE AND GO WITH IT!!

newtolineofduty · 21/09/2021 09:27

@hoola23 it's great to have a month 'off' like that every so often! I'm cycle day 9 and it said not fertile this morning which is what I'd be expecting if I was having a normal cycle but I still can't shake the feeling I had my peak on Sunday and ovulated yesterday-I had cramps last night which I interpreted as ovulation cramping! Didnt DTD though as we did it Sunday and I was soooo tired! X

newtolineofduty · 21/09/2021 10:51

@CShandy01 and @hoola23 my CM is all over the place too! EWCM on Sunday, none yesterday, but then just seen done now so I'm hoping that means I haven't ovulated yet! Will DTD tonight hopefully but it's looking like I'm going to ovulate early again but not as early as I was worrying about! X

MrsRosaline · 21/09/2021 19:49

Hey everyone. I hate to come on here with bad news but this morning I started bleeding really heavily. Similar to you @hoola23, it's continued throughout the day and I can only assume it's a miscarriage. I'm devastated to be honest. Sorry to come on with this, but I wanted to update you all, especially as you guys have been a huge support during TTC. No doubt I'll be back in a few weeks trying again. ☹️ Xx

@MrsRosaline oh bless chick, I'm so sorry to hear about this. Have you got an appointment to see the doctor at all? All may not be lost 🙂 sending you a huge hug ❤️❤️ xxx

newtolineofduty · 21/09/2021 20:32

@MrsRosaline I was just thinking of you today and wondering how you're getting on. I'm so so sorry to hear that. My friend passed a large blood clot and was convinced she'd miscarried but she hadn't so like @CShandy01 said all may not be lost quite yet. I can't imagine how upset you are though, sending so much love x

MrsRosaline · 21/09/2021 21:03

Thanks @CShandy01 and @newtolineofduty. Yes I did go to the early pregnancy unit for a scan and they couldn't see anything. Could be too early, but most likely a miscarriage. The bleeding has been heavy and constant all day. I'm OK, have taken a few days off work for my own well-being. Xx

newtolineofduty · 21/09/2021 21:06

I'm glad you're looking after yourself @MrsRosaline. I hope you're able to take some comfort in the fact you got pregnant but I know it doesn't make it any easier. The TTC journey really is the cruelest thing ever xxx

CShandy01 · 21/09/2021 21:08

@MrsRosaline I'm so glad you're taking some time out for yourself, that's such an important thing at this moment. You're entitled to as much time as you need ❤️ as @newtolineofduty said, this TTC journey is bloody horrific. We're all in this together. Xx

hoola23 · 21/09/2021 21:12

@MrsRosaline oh darling I'm so sorry, it's so upsetting isn't it. Sending you a massive hug. Do another test in a few days just to be sure. Please do try and hold onto the positive that you did get pregnant and it will happen again for you. It really helped me to list all the positives I could take from it even though it's so upsetting especially when you've been trying for so long. Take care of yourself xx

MrsRosaline · 21/09/2021 21:28

Thanks everyone. It is very upsetting and it just seems so cruel to have tried for so long and then have it taken away! My positive results were very obvious and strong too. I felt a bit silly crying in the midwife's office over a 5 week loss, but I was 10 days since the positive test so I was just starting to get used to the idea of being pregnant and getting excited too. Heartbroken 💔 but hoping to find some of your resilience @hoola23 and move on. X

OP posts:
hoola23 · 21/09/2021 21:43

@MrsRosaline it's totally natural to feel that!! You are NOT silly. Remember it may only be 5 weeks technically but to you it's not, it's from the moment we start thinking about and trying for a baby! For me that's probably twenty years!! It's easy for people to dismiss saying it's so early etc but for us it's the dream of the baby, not the gestation of the pregnancy. Take each day as it comes, speak to your partner. I usually just say I feel sad and he knows what I'm on about. Sometimes there isn't anything to say, it's just having someone to hug you. Give yourself time to process things and you will be able to move on what you feel ready, there's no time frame. You will get a BFP again lovely and if possible, you will love it that little bit more and it will be even more precious ❤️

hoola23 · 21/09/2021 22:22

@CShandy01 @newtolineofduty I think this month May already be out for me🤣 cd9 DTD tonight even though cbfm said low but thought I'd get going anyway. My cheap opk are getting lighter though so I think I actually already ovulated maybe cd7?! The presence of EWCM a couple days ago may have been the sign! I wonder if ovulation just carried on going even though I got pregnant? I would be ovulation on cd6/7 if I had got my period on time late month so that would make sense but is that biologically possible? Argghhhhhh!

newtolineofduty · 22/09/2021 06:51

@hoola23 I could have written this exact same thing!! There's something in the water! I'm day 10 and says it's low fertility but got EWCM yesterday so hoping I'm not done yet!

How reliable do you usually find the cheapies? I would imagine that your weekend cervical mucus was CP related rather than ovulation related hun but if you did ovulate early that can happen for all sorts of reasons including stress (I researched it last month!) x I'd just keep DTD every other night to cover yourself but not put too much pressure on. That's our plan and also got started last night! X

hoola23 · 22/09/2021 08:12

@newtolineofduty so bloody confusing isn't it! Cbfm gave me high this morning so I feel a little better for that. Going to just relax now and see if I get a peak this month

The cheapies I think are good because you can see when LH gets more and more and I can kind of work out when it starts to increase when I will ovulate after doing so many of them!

Yeah with you on DTD every night! Only thing to do really!🤣 we managed to switch up the DTD a bit last night with a bit more adventure and I actually didn't think about getting pregnant for the first time! I really think that because I know it can happen now I weirdly feel better about that x
