Oh GOD why do I test at random times? 11dpo, not FMU or even SMU but “random lunchtime urine after a moderate amount of hydration”. Is this the start of a line, a hint of a squint? It’s pink IRL and getting pinker - visible within 3 minutes, photo taken at 5 mins. One Step cheapies are stark white. Feel absolutely no different to usual. Play lunch break stare at the test with me!

@stuntbubbles that’s what my line looked like in the beginning. I found the second sample of the day gave the strongest line in the early days with First Response. Wishing you the best 🙂. Xx

stuntbubbles · 20/04/2022 08:37

Good morning all, it’s officially a BFP for me! Six cycles TTC, including a chemical six months ago. Hoping this one sticks.

Also One Step are so terrible for early testing but great for the wallet of POAS addicts like me! I only used a FRER yesterday not because my One Step showed anything – stark white – but because I “felt funny”. That’s it, my sole symptom: “Dunno, just kind of funny.”

@stuntbubbles congratulations!!! I really hope its a super sticky one x

Kelb79 · 20/04/2022 12:29

Awww @stuntbubbles thats epic!! Huge congratulations!!! 🥳🥳 praying for stickiness and a super healthy 9 months xxxxx

stuntbubbles · 20/04/2022 19:25

Thank you, @DOB78 and @Kelb79 ! Naturally I’ve done no work all day and ran out at lunchtime to confirm on a digi to see it in words. Now for the anxiety and worry to kick in. x

DOB78 · 20/04/2022 20:05

@stuntbubbles Ah I'm sure everything will be perfect. I'm so so happy for you and you've given me a shred of hope x

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/04/2022 21:15

Hope everyone had a good eater

@41andtryingforfirst hi and welcome

@October1979 hi, hope you're doing ok? I actually have considered a doner ahh and would do it if that's what it takes, I've a feeling my other half wouldn't be too keen either but I'm hoping he will listen if that's what we need to do. That clinic in Prague seems to have some really good odds too!

@Kelb79 I've seen some really good Things about clinics in Spain

@IsabelHerna congratulations

@99pctpractice sorry to hear it's not worked for you, hope you have a lovely relaxing holiday though!

@traceyann44 sorry about your cp 😞 none of this ttcing is easy is it?!

@stuntbubbles congratulations!! Hoping it's your sticky bean

I'm currently cd54 still don't think I've ovulated so will ring the consultant next week and ask what to do if still no af!

traceyann44 · 20/04/2022 21:27

No none of it it easy you get a positive hpt and keep getting them and bam you start spotting and bleeding I’ve tested since I’ve bled and now my tests are stark white not even a shadow on them but will will give it a good go this month when af has gone I do feel my body is trying to do something thank you for your reply x

October1979 · 20/04/2022 21:52

@99pctpractice I'm so sorry it's so tough. Fingers crossed for your next round and enjoy your well earned holiday. Switch off and have some you time. You can lose yourself in this process ❤️. I was really surprised how my oh was. I think your right, bringing up to speed is important. Once I talked him through it he was really good. It's the lack of understanding that's scary.
Good luck @Kelb79 this month. I'm just waiting on af to show negative tests at 13dpo.
@traceyann44 I'm so sorry - I feel your pain it's so cruel and disappointing. Sending a hug your way.
@IsabelHerna @stuntbubbles congratulations🎉 nice to hear some good news and hoping all progresses well for you both.

@Marvellouslymadmum My OH put on a face the first time I brought it up. So felt I would have a fight on my hands. But when I sat him down and explained the information I had found out, stats and the process and told him I couldn't keep going and being disappointed , he agreed and said if your keen we will do it. I have asked the clinic if we can come for a visit, tests and paperwork on 12th May and sent possible flight times. I'm hoping if all goes well we can have our Donor transfer in the summer. Don't know if that's realistic. Will let you all know when I hear back.

@DOB78 – thank you. You’re so kind. I have every finger crossed for you! x

FWIW, this BFP comes exactly three months after: DP and I quit alcohol entirely (I was not a heavy drinker, he was) and he started taking Wellman Conception, and I read It Starts With the Egg and Yes, You Can Get Pregnant and began vitamin regimes (lol that sounds more strenuous than it is) based on both books; Q10, selenium, folate (a spendy one in a brown glass bottle with tons of other vitamins), oil of evening primrose, fish oil.

it’s also an entirely “Tupperware and calpol syringe” conception as DP gets performance anxiety and I had D&V during my fertile week. Sexay.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/04/2022 07:29

@traceyann44 it's very disheartening and takes the excitement out of it all! I don't think I've ever had any chemicals, though I don't usually test as af is very unpredictable but the only times I've done an hpt they've always been stark white. I think I may feint from shock if there's ever anything there! I know for a fact it'll be so hard for me to get excited if it does happen incase it is a chemical or another mc 😕

@October1979 that sounds really good, yes please do let us know how it all goes!

@stuntbubbles that's good to know, I've been so lax with my vitamins lately because my oh has too, really need to get back on them and hope!

traceyann44 · 21/04/2022 08:20

So much like I said I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t test early I’m not doing it to my self this month it was so stressful thinking and seeing the line get darker and then fade then af came on time and then no lines at all it’s my own fault I shouldn’t test early .

marvellouslymadmum I’m so happy your getting things moving hope your plans go well x

DOB78 · 21/04/2022 08:37

@October1979I got the face from OH when I brought up donor IVF and now I get dismissed completely. Hopefully I can get him to listen to me soon as I can't keep doing this every month. Good Luck and please keep us upto date.
@stuntbubbles I added loads of supplements 3 months ago so I'm hoping it can be a positive for me too.
@traceyann it's a horrible experience I've had 2 CPs so far and try not to test too early anymore, it's soul destroying. Like you I feel like my body is trying to do something but something just isn't clicking into place.

Hopefully we get some answers from the fertility clinic next month and until till then we'll keep trying. We've got a holiday in July so going to focus on losing some weight and getting a better beach bod before we go!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/04/2022 17:52

@traceyann44 I'm not sure things are moving such as trickling lol it's cd55 today no idea if I'll ovulate or what 🤷🏼‍♀️ but thank you!

Kelb79 · 22/04/2022 09:49

@DOB78 and @October1979 my OH goes up and down with it alll! He was very behind the idea of IVF in Spain when I brought it up but he keeps wanting to hold off hoping that things will just happen magically. Unfortunately I conceived on my birthday when we were having a relaxed weekend away and I drank the best part of 2 bottles of Prosecco 🫣 so he’s got this hang up that it happened because I was relaxed and I’m too focussed on it the rest of the time (when I’m being healthy and doing all the right things 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️)
He can’t seem to understand how impossible it is to not think about it 😵‍💫
I know for a fact if I didn’t we’d never BD at the right time and stand very little chance!!
men!!! 🙄

I’m 10DPO now and definitely not manifesting symptoms at all 🙄🫣

October1979 · 22/04/2022 19:07

@Kelb79 it's hard. My husband was the same at first. Maybe compromise and put a time frame on ttc naturally and pushing the button on ivf Spain? @DOB78 we have confirmed our appointment for 13th May and booked our flights. They will do all tests on both of us, take SA and freeze it in case oh can't come back for transfer or he can't perform under pressure on the day. They will also send me home with the meds I need. We will be in prague 2 days. And we will need to go back 6 days if fresh sample used or 1 day if frozen for transfer . Sounds quite simple. I'm sure there will be more to it x

AF came today. Weirdly, having been a bit wary of donor embryo IVF, today I just feel like I should go for it. Anyone have any experience?

October1979 · 22/04/2022 21:37

@JulesRimetStillGleaming I was dead against it at the start. 2.5 years later and multiple miscarriages under my belt and I am now going for it. I have no kids and I now think the question is : if I want to be a mum or not and less about the how. If I needed a transplant I wouldn't think twice so why not. My friend is 36 weeks pregnant after egg donation so it has helped to talk to her. I just don't want to look back if I kept trying and never had children and have any regrets x

OP posts:
JulesRimetStillGleaming · 22/04/2022 22:31

I had a miscarriage 2 years ago and just nothing since then. Maybe two chemicals later that year - maybe they could’ve been dodgy FRERs but I wasn’t even late those two months so barely count. Nothing at all for 18 months so it seems completely stupid to keep doing what I’m doing and it’s not working.

The Czech clinic that comes up first on google seems to be creating embryos from scratch from donors rather than the embryos being donated from couples after IVF and it’s all anonymous. Not sure if that’s standard.

99pctpractice · 23/04/2022 06:05

@October1979 that's amazing that you're all booked in and it's happening!! So great that you got your oh over the line. And it sounds like the clinic really know what they're doing. I guess it's easier to do ivf abroad with a donor egg because you don't need all the scans etc during the process so you would just then need to go out for the transfer if they already had the speed frozen? will it be frozen egg donation or a fresh donor if you go ahead? I'm really curious how logistically it works!

@JulesRimetStillGleaming Would you be looking at a double donor or just egg donor? I think unless there's a male factor infertility issue (or same sex or single parents), most clinics assume a couple will go with just an egg donor rather than embryo donor.

@stuntbubbles congrats!! Hope this is a sticky one for you!

@Marvellouslymadmum i hope you ovulate soon!! Your cycle is so long already!!

@traceyann44 so sorry you had a chemical. It's so gutting to get your hopes up and then for it not to work out. All fingers crossed for your next cycle.......

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 23/04/2022 06:23

I'm single so I'm already using donor sperm to TTC.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 23/04/2022 06:25

In the UK, double donor is not legal. You can't create designer babies in the UK but it appears that is happening abroad. I'm not sure how I feel about that ethically.

traceyann44 · 23/04/2022 08:10

Thankyou it is hard d my tests were progressing and then by 12/14 dpo nothing on them not even an shadow or indent so I know the tests weren’t dodgy which I thought they were .. never mind 🤞 for is all next month .

traceyann44 · 23/04/2022 08:11

All in good time lovely
