Jem1979 · 10/04/2022 07:21

@Charliepops80 hello there, sorry to hear about your 5hitty husband but glad you have now met someone lovely! just to say I am currently 36w with number 2 at 42, have a wee boy who will be 3 in May. So it is possible!

And to all the other ladies on here, I know it maybe seems like its easy for me to say being pregnant, but I know how hard it is TTC and the crazy range of emotions. Thinking of you all & sending baby dust xx

traceyann44 · 10/04/2022 08:21

Hello can I join ? I’m 40

I’m trying to conceive #3, having no luck and feeling very down.
AF was due tomorrow but had negative frer today so know I’m out and this is cycle 12

I had an infection after birth with #2 and then an ectopic a year later.
So I’m wondering if tubes are blocked.

I have been doing opk and getting very regular positives and cycles are very regular, lots of ewcm etc

I am going to make an appt to get a HyCoSy I think has anyone had one are they awful ?

I’m so down tonight

traceyann44 · 11/04/2022 07:19

Hi fedupthenabitmore

And welcome I have no advice or answers for your question just know your not alone I’m 50 and trying ttc naturally yes 50 I get judged a lot by people but I am healthy have regular periods and ovulate every month so while this is happening I’m happy not saying my eggs are good enough but I live in hope .

We have been ttc #4 for 17 years we have had 3 baby’s angels in heaven and this started happening when I was 33 so I never put it down to age . We had all fertility testing all come back normal no reason whatsoever so here we are ntnp if it happens great if not I’m just enjoying my grandchildren.

Good luck to you 😊

99pctpractice · 11/04/2022 18:23

Hi @FedUpthenaBitmore I had a hycosy and found it fine : like a more involved smear. I got pregnant immediately after it (sadly didn't last very long), but having ttc #2 for a year and nothing happening and then getting pregnant immediately post hycosy makes me think that it probably cleared something out of my system, even if my tubes were clear on the scan. And if you have had an ectopic there could well be some issues with your tubes, so I would think worth getting it checked out.

FedUpthenaBitmore · 11/04/2022 18:39

@99pctpractice yes I’m really convinced it’s my tubes I think I need to just make the appt and not be nervous about it.

I’ve read how it can improve fertility for the months following so it seems like the logical next step, I think I was scared it would be seriously painful !

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/04/2022 22:06

@DOB78 glad everything looks ok for you, I'm currently cd45 and don't think I've ovulated yet, this is going to be a looooong cycle!

@Charliepops80 hi and welcome!

@Jem1979 that's lovely to hear thank you for sharing! I'm the same age as you I'm guessing (1979) so there may still be hope for me!

@FedUpthenaBitmore hi and welcome, it may be worth getting your gp to do some tests for you and they may send you for a hycosy to rule Out a blockage too, I haven't had one but others I've spoken to have said they're not that bad just uncomfortable

traceyann44 · 12/04/2022 08:04

Hey so 9 dpo still getting faint lines on hpt I’m am now wondering if I have a base line of hcg in my system as we do as we get older not sure it’s enough to pull a vvf pink line though nice to see new members joining welcome to you all x

littleangle46 · 12/04/2022 08:26

@traceyann hi, did you go through a miscarriage recently? The retained placenta from the miscarriage can make HCG test positive. Also certain medication may lead a false positive. But I hope you are pregnant!

DOB78 · 12/04/2022 10:16

@Marvellouslymadmum Good grief that is a long cycle! Thankyou I'm glad everything is working just frustrating we're still not getting pregnant

traceyann44 · 12/04/2022 15:44

Hi no miscarriage I am 9 dpo today and still getting faint lines … I’m just wondering if premenopausal can cause hcg but surly not enough to pull a line I’m baffled run out of tests today so I’ve just orderd some more .

DOB78 · 12/04/2022 19:15

@traceyann44 did the same thing happen last month too? I'd say it might be a dodgy batch but it didn't happen to your daughter

traceyann44 · 12/04/2022 20:50

Yeah same last month and then I started spotting and then I had a 2 day regular period I have the same tests but the lines are more prominent this month and my daughter did a test and she got nothing on hers not even a shadow I’m just going to test up till af comes or not I’m 9 dpo today temp still up

DOB78 · 12/04/2022 21:00

@Traceyann44 fingers crossed its a BFP for you

traceyann44 · 12/04/2022 21:33

Oh I’m on the fence about my progression of my lines this morning wasn’t as prominent it’s there but not like the others and I’m cramping af is due about 17/20 so we will see and if I come on I’ll
See it as my body was trying to do something but thank you so much 😊

Catconfusion · 13/04/2022 11:56

Hi ladies, just a quick update from me. I joined the thread last January when I started trying for baby #2. I was 41 and had my son 9 months earlier at 40 after two mcs. I was really scared of more losses or not being able to have any more babies. I had three more mcs unfortunately during the next 7 months but then fell pregnant with my daughter. Baby Elwen was born three weeks ago tomorrow weighing a very healthy 11 pounds 6! My husband and I both turn 43 in the summer so feel very blessed to have completed our family so late in life.

I know our journey wasn’t a particular long one but I’ll never forget the 5 pregnancies we lost, especially our first at 10 weeks. Please don’t lose hope as life can change very quickly. Sending lots of love and baby dust to you all! Xx
