My dd is 11 months old and we have decided that now is the time for number 2! My daughter took 18 months to conceive with a mmc in between, so I'm expecting a long journey. This is my first month and I'm on cd4.

@CShandy01 I’m glad I am not alone :) it’s the not knowing that’s the awful bit? If I could see the future and knew that I would eventually get pregnant, whether it be on cycle 2 or cycle 10, then I’d be happy and just get on with life in the meantime. But at the moment it’s all I think about and the stress of it can’t be helping!
My cycles are fairly regular but my periods seem to have changed a lot since having DS - they are lighter and my period pains are in my lower back and they always used to be in my front! I’m hoping that doesn’t mean anything.
Have your cycles always been irregular? Xx

CShandy01 · 26/10/2021 22:20

@Moonshine160 I used to be regular before DD (27/28 days) but now I'm all over the place (been anywhere from 25 to 31 days in the last year). My periods have got worse since DD. TMI here so sorry, but I have bright red blood for 2-3 days, and I have horrific cramps a week before. I genuinely thought periods were supposed to get better after having kids 😂😂 my ovulation pain has also got worse and I can tell which side it is every month.

I haven't been on any contraception since DD was about 10 months old. I was on the mini pill for 4 months and bled consistently, so much so that I started to become anaemic. So I ditched everything and just used condoms. X

Indianna2006 · 27/10/2021 07:50

@Moonshine160 welcome 🙂 I know it’s disappointing but you just have to keep going with knowledge there statistically within 12 months/cycles you will of fallen. It’s crap but likelihood is it will happen. It’s just the timing.

Good luck for AF not arriving on Sunday @CShandy01

BunnieMilk · 27/10/2021 08:16

Hi there can I join! I have a boy who turned 2 in august and I'm wanting to try for another x

GreenFlipFlop · 27/10/2021 08:45

Hi everyone, sorry been a bit MIA! Been waiting for ovulation and was a bit unsure when it would be due to the chemical so have been using OPK's and Flo app was predicting it would be 25th but my OPK's were negative up until I got a positive on the 25th so we DTD, but last month I had a few positive OPK's in the lead up whereas this month just one and now they're saying negative again? It wasn't as bold as last month's so I wasn't 100% sure. Anyway, long story short I'm worried I might have missed it this month because we didn't do it in the leadup to the positive as all my tests were negative, only day of and day after and I'm just absolute gutted 😢 I'm starting to feel really down about it all especially with last month's chemical. DS is 18 months on the 8th and I just really thought I'd be pregnant by now 😔 I just feel like it isn't going to happen.

Chivari · 27/10/2021 09:13

Hi everyone!

Sorry about AF arriving @madeleine85 - like I said, I had very similar symptoms after coming off the pill and this month is the first month (cycle 3) I feel ok again. Hopefully it calms down for you soon!

@Hope18 hello! 😊 sorry about you feeling anxious. It’s really hard not to and I remember it well with DD. But keep positive, there is no reason why anything bad will happen and I’m sure your early scan will go really well! Definitely agree with @Indianna2006, we love chatting to you and hearing your updates!

@indianna2006 sorry about BFN and rubbish PMS symptoms 😕 but still feeling positive for you as you never know. If not, come on lucky 7 as you said!
AF still hasn’t arrived for me so I’m a day late, but did a test this morning which was BFP and think I may have a little bit of discoloured CM this morning (hard to tell) which I guess means AF is arriving today! I have no symptoms though… so weird!

Welcome @Moonshine160 - I feel like we are on similar paths! My DD is 2.5 too and we are on cycle 3 of TTC now. Got pg first cycle with dd so was very disappointed when that didn’t happen this time 😕 but trying to stay positive. A larger gap has loads of benefits 😘😘

Chivari · 27/10/2021 09:18

Hi @GreenFlipFlop big hug! It’s such a crazy journey isn’t it, and can feel so stressful when you think you’ve missed the O window. Try and keep positive and not get too disheartened. As @Indianna2006 has said before, statistically you’ll be pg in 12 months so it will happen 😘

Chivari · 27/10/2021 09:18

Sorry @Indianna2006 I meant I did a test this morning that was BFN!!!! 😂🤣

Indianna2006 · 27/10/2021 09:23

@Chivari haha omg. Thought she casual?! Haha ah shit. Maybe she’s on her way then. Still waiting over here but bit crampy today so she be here tomo I reckon.

Having my hair done tomorrow tho so bit of pamper so that will cheer me up.

@GreenFlipFlop you never know. Day of and day before could of totally been enough! Bit hard for you to work out I guess but 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Chivari · 27/10/2021 09:29

Glad I read it back @Indianna2006 as otherwise you would have been like WHHAATTT??? 😂 when are you due, today? I’m so bored of my body playing tricks on me. I just wish AF would either turn up or I get a BFP. The in the middle bit is so hard. I’d be surprised if I got a BFP this month with the issues we have had and all the stress. Really need to try and relax more…
Hope you have a lovely time getting your hair done! I feel like I’m due a spa day soon

Indianna2006 · 27/10/2021 09:32

@Chivari tomorrow it’s due but I’ve been in a stinking mood and was so hot in bed last night. All signs it is for sure on its way 😂🙈🙈

Bastard AF. It is not welcome here lol. Rubbish weather as well today and half term so DD is off. Just gonna have a film day

GreenFlipFlop · 27/10/2021 09:39

@Chivari Thanks Chivari ❤️ I need that this morning!

Welcome @Moonshine160 and @bunniemilk!

@hope18 Can totally understand the anxiety, but try not to worry..although easier said than done! Also still enjoying having you on the group! I wouldn't want anyone to feel that they have to go because they got their BFP! We're all still in this together! Xx

Chivari · 27/10/2021 09:39

@Indianna2006 I had a crazy night sleep last night too. Some night sweats and weird dreams!
AF is seriously annoying but on the other hand I do think we need her to keep us fertile! 😂 I always thought I’d potentially like 3 kids but not sure I can go through TTC for a 3rd time! It’s just too stressful.
Is your dd at school or pre-school? Enjoy your movie day! I love a movie day, but often find my dd gets itchy feet after a few hours whereas I could 100% lie on the sofa all day 🤣

Indianna2006 · 27/10/2021 09:43

@Chivari I’m deffo done with two kids! If this one ever shows it face. Don’t think my body could handle a 3rd. Think carry a second is going to be a struggle in itself for me.

She’s at pre school. Doesn’t go to full time school until next Sept. but looking at this rate DD will of started school before a new baby comes along. But pros and cons I guess. I can give all attention to new baby and share that time I’ve given DD. So trying to put a nice spin on a bigger gap 😁

Chivari · 27/10/2021 10:02

Did you find carrying your dd hard? @Indianna2006

I’ll be interested to see what my next pregnancy is like. I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum with my dd which was the most debilitating thing ever. I was in hospital with it having to be put on a fluid drip because I got so dehydrated.

You’re totally right about the gap having positives. I’ve been worried about the gap getting bigger. I wanted 3 years or just over but we are on 3.3 years now and growing. But it’s only society that says you ‘should’ have a 2-3 year because that’s considered the ‘norm’ but who cares?! Like you said, if anything it will be easier to manage. I have a few friends with a 2ish year gap and they keep telling me how chaotic it is when they have the baby and toddler on their own

Indianna2006 · 27/10/2021 10:05

@Chivari yes it what it is now but ideally don’t want it getting too much bigger.

No I had a great pregnancy with DD but awful labour and birth and suffered severe pelvic girdle pain after the birth due to how forceful it was. I still have issues now tbh with my body. Taking me a looong time to attempt to dare do it again.
Not sure how my body will cope, I have lots of chronic pain issues. So it will be interesting. Just want to get it over and done with. It’s a means to an end for me to get a baby at the end 🤞🏼

Chivari · 27/10/2021 10:11

Oh that sounds really hard! Poor you still having issues and lots of chronic pain 😕 Fingers crossed @Indianna2006 - let’s give it our all next month!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I might try that pre-seed? Have you tried it before?

Indianna2006 · 27/10/2021 10:16

@Chivari I used pre seed this cycle but no luck. But will use again next cycle. I know come on where are these babies at 👀🤞🏼

Chivari · 27/10/2021 10:19

Please can everyone also give me their OPK recommendations. I don’t want to waste money on buying expensive clear blue again!

Chivari · 27/10/2021 10:38

@Indianna2006 I’ve heard great things about it, but wondering if it works better on women who struggle with fertile CM?
I’m not getting cramps and feeling rubbish so I think AF is coming imminently. I think I’m a day or so late because I ovulated later in the month like you were explaining

Moonshine160 · 27/10/2021 16:52

@CShandy01 we sound similar. Over the last year I’ve had cycles ranging from 26-31 days but the last few have all been 30. I have a lot of cramping the week before too. What cycle day are you on now? Hopefully AF won’t arrive for you this month.

@Indianna2006 thanks for the welcome. You’re right, statistically the odds are in my favour that it’ll happen at some point over the next few months. It’s a more positive way of looking at it. I’m just so impatient. I also used pre seed this month and no success, but it worked first time when I got pregnant with DS. I find that I only usually get the fertile cervical mucus for just one day so it does help me. I’ll try it again next month.

@Chivari we are on the same path! I love was gutted when AF arrived. It was only month 1 but because it happened on the first month last time I had got my hopes up and convinced myself I had alll the symptoms. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you this cycle.

@GreenFlipFlop thanks for the welcome :) I have read the thread, I’m sorry about your chemical pregnancy. I hope you have a sticky bean this cycle and I’ve heard that a previous chemical can make you more fertile for the next month.

madeleine85 · 27/10/2021 18:21

@Chivari thank you so much, it is so helpful to know that this might continue for a few cycles, and is at least level setting my expectations.

I think that I got pregnant around cycle 4 with my dd, but we weren't TTC at all. I came off the pill to lose a few lbs when we were planning our wedding, thinking it would take at least a year to conceive.... ended up gaining instead :). I think I expected if we did TTC #2 it would happen instantly, but I just need to give it time. Anyway, it is really helpful to see other people's experiences, and to have a group of mums in the same boat, and to see what has/hasn't worked (so thank you all). Hoping that cycle #2 I can relax a bit and not be quite as obsessive!

Chivari · 27/10/2021 20:00

AF has finally arrived this evening so I’m out again this month! 😢 On to month 4, with fingers and toes crossed

Mim21 · 27/10/2021 21:11

Welcome to the newcomers!

@Chivari sorry to hear AF has arrived, I use the easy @ home OPK's i get them from amazon, just looked and the 25pk is reduced at the mo, I get nice clear results on them and track them all in premom which helps me see the peaks easily

GreenFlipFlop · 27/10/2021 21:54

@Moonshine160 Thank you ❤️ I read the same about being more fertile, I really hope it's true!!

@chivari Sorry to hear about that witch AF 😩Hoping for next month 🤞🏾

OPK recommendations, I use these from eBay - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141228462866?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D32f7164bb46f43539f180420ee059152%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D255104255561%26itm%3D141228462866%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DOne+Step&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A9c4d3f19-3767-11ec-a043-8a865757ac4f%7Cparentrq%3Ac385581f17c0a0f28fa3c436ffda3be6%7Ciid%3A1

Cheap and last month it worked well for me before the chemical. I got the bundle with PG tests just incase I had a random urge to POAS!
