Anyone else ttc #2?

My dd is 11 months old and we have decided that now is the time for number 2! My daughter took 18 months to conceive with a mmc in between, so I'm expecting a long journey. This is my first month and I'm on cd4.

@Chivari yes I check my cervix and note the position/feel. Although it’s been so long since I was last doing it I might need to google what it all means again!
It’s not the most accurate way to check for ovulation but it does help.

Getting taunted by the flashing smileys again. 5th one this morning. Think I will skip DTD tonight and save it for tomorrow when hopefully get static or is this a risk?

I never have any clue about cervix position and feel. I had a go for 18 months of ttc before and I figure if I didn't work it out by then, I'll never know 😂.

I think today is ovulation. I got my peak on clear blue yesterday afternoon but cheapie is still negative. Very close to positive but not quite yet. We dtd early evening and this morning but dd was up between 8pm and 3am last night as she's poorly so we are exhausted! I think we will dtd once more tonight (unless she's back in our bed so early again 😬) but if it happened this month, it'll be a miracle!

@chivari we are entering cycle 2.. But this month is a tough one as we are on holiday with family during ovulation week!

With the digital clear blue ovulation sticks it says it shows 2 days of most fertile days, I presume this is with a smiley face? If no smiley face then do we not bother DTD?
When you say taunted have you been getting lots of smiley faces? If so how do you know when is right?

Thanks @PartyPotato and @Chanel05! I’ve definitely felt a difference around when I think I’m ovulating - but then I’m due on tomorrow and I checked it yesterday and it was high but firm and closed? I thought when you were due it was meant to be low? So confusing!
Good luck @Hope18 with this cycle! It’s always harder to dtd when busy and away doing stuff. This month my husband was away with work so it changed our dtd day schedule! Really hoping this month has worked still

@Chivari to be honest when I got my BFP with DS my cervix didn’t feel anything like Google told me it would if I was pregnant 😅 it’s just one of those things you can track as a secondary sign but it’s not super reliable (that’s what I’ve found anyway, some people may be able to read their cervixes like a book haha)

Yes I’ve heard that too @PartyPotato and actually looks as if I’m out again this month ☹️ AF appears to be making an entrance!

@PartyPotato definitely disappointed - and just don’t understand how it can happen so quickly first time and now we are entering cycle 3 second time around. I know that’s not very long, just feels it!

@Chivari it’s still early, don’t worry too much! Every month you have the same chance as the last so don’t lose hope.

You’re right @PartyPotato! I think I’m going to try OPK’s next month and see how that goes.

How old are everyone’s first borns out of interest?

@chivari I hope you have more luck next cycle, I found the OPKs really helped me figure out my ovulation and get some confidence in my cycle.

My DD is almost 15months and currently going through a spell of waking every few hours. Wondering what we're thinking TTC this week 🤦‍♀️ keeps the mind off pregnancy testing I suppose.

DS is 9 and a half months, I’ve always wanted kids close together

@Goodgoodthings ahh no sorry your DD is waking so much at night! As with everything, I’m sure it’s just a phase and will be over as quickly as it started

@PartyPotato I have heard a short age gap can be really lovely as both kids play together well 😀

So what I thought was AF starting has now completely stopped?! It was a very tiny amount of pink tinged CM when I wiped earlier and now nothing. This did happen last month though and then AF arrived a few days after. I only came off the pill in august so that might be why….

@Chivari so annoying when it messes with you like that! Sometimes you just wish AF would start so you can get over it and move on to the next cycle.

I don't think it helps reading everywhere that stress messed up egg release etc and then I keep stressing about that 😂 and I do think having had covid in August and been really poorly with it, it's changed my cycles!

@Hope18 this is only our first cycle trying, I’m not in too much of a rush but I’d like it to happen by Jan.

@Hope18 we sound very similar - my dd is 2.5 and I’m in cycle 2 (possibly going to enter in to cycle 3 if AF arrives). Did you always plan a 3-4 year gap? We did, so we have a while to TTC but I just keep thinking the gap is getting bigger!
I bet covid wasn’t nice for you and so rubbish it’s messed up your cycles!

@PartyPotato that's a good time frame, you've given yourself a head start for your aim of Jan to be pregnant! 😊

@chivari Yes, we always said we'd like our DD to be nearer to school age to be able to spend more time with newborn etc and so I can nap in the day if needed haha!
Mind you-we entered this cycle this month very chilled as we are not in a rush.. and was absolutely gutted when AF came around 😂🙈 so the being chilled didn't last long.. 🙄
I think like my husband said, once youve officially started Ttc you want it to happen even more!
The pressure mounds up so easily and being relaxed seems impossible!

@Hope18 gosh the pressure really does mount doesn’t it! Me and my DH tried dtd every day around when I thought I was ovulating last month and it definitely killed the vibe after the 3rd night 😂 I’ve also had so many people ask me when we are having another since my dd turned 2! A few of my friends have either had their 2nd or are pregnant now so I’m definitely feeling pressure from all angles. Probably not helping!
Are you just going in to cycle 2?

Aw yep same here, friends are either pregnant or already had their baby. I'm thinking how on earth they found it easy I don't know??
Talk about mood kill- like it's even worse that me and DH sit and plan DTD days for next ovulation following my app 😂 it actually makes it a little awkward on the DTD day I think hahaa! We're like.. soooo👀...

Yeah entering cycle 2.. But no hopes for this one as I said we have a holiday with my parents in a caravan on ovulation week haha!! So zero hope for that.. I find it too awkward! 😂

@hope18 you get flashing smileys for high fertility and then a static smiley for peak. I had 9 flashing last cycle and on day 5 this cycle. It is so frustrating as don't want to DTD too much then be too tired for when I get my peak but also hate not DTD when it shows high fertility! I only had 1 flashing before peak with the cycle we conceived DS.

@Chivari I always get this a few days before AF arrives and tell myself every month maybe this time it is implantation bleeding but for me it never is.

My DS is coming up to 15 months. It took 16 cycles and a little intervention to conceive him so I know this is going to be a long slog. I'd prefer a 2nd to be born September or after but didn't want to put off starting until January as I knew it will probably take us a long time. We were just going to take it easy and see what happened until January but as soon as I stopped my contraception I just wanted it to happen straight away. This is cycle 2 using OPKs for me

@Chivari My DS is 16 months! Been trying since May since his 1st birthday in May as I wanted them fairly close together too! In hindsight, I wish I'd started at 9 months now 😬 took 4 cycles with DS and so far on 5th cycle ttc #2. Everyone who had babies the same time as my first seems to be pregnant again and lots of people asking if we'll have another but don't like to say we're trying cos I worry it'll add pressure!

@goodgoodthings we found 15 months so challenging, so many night wake ups! Tbh I think between 12-15 months we didn't try as hard as we could have TTC as we were just so knackered! 😂

AF due in 6 days..considering testing on Sunday. Felt a bit twingy and peeing a lot so I'm feeling a bit more hopeful this month!

@GreenFlipFlop ah thank you for saying that, seems like all around me are toddlers who have slept through since 4 days old 😂 really hope that this month is your month! AF is due for me on 5th so thinking I'll test Sunday as well. Seem to be having twinges too, along with being super irritable so possibly more signs of AF I think (and sleep deprivation lol). Yesterday I could smell the vase of slightly too old sunflowers on the dining table and had to get rid of them immediately though everyone else thought I was mad. Pretty sure they did smell bad lol.

@Goodgoodthings I feel the same!! He's still not sleeping through at 16 months but he settles back pretty quickly when he wakes up now so we've just accepted it! May aswell have another and condense the sleepless nights 😂
