August TTC

Hi Ladies

Thought I would create a channel for July / August TTC for those who didn't receive their BFP's this time around

I'm on CD2 now after sadly AF arriving. TTC no1 at 32 and this will be Cycle 4

I'm currently isolating with Covid after having 1 jab (which really messed with cycle 2 and 3) expecting DH to test positive v soon!

So sorry if I miss anyone or if you haven't got your AF yet or had a BFP ! But wanted to capture a few people as I've found these channels super helpful!

Jumping in too! Currently on cycle 6 TTC and AF due on 3 Aug. Had first month tracking BBT (OPKs are mega expensive in NZ!) and my temp was all over the place, so not even sure if I'm ovulating?!

Giving it this month and then going to pay for some private tests. This is our first that we're trying for and I'm 28 and husband is 31. Both healthy and fit, so makes it even more a blow when our friends get pregnant straight away after no exercise, poor diets and LOTS of alcohol!

I already feel like I'm out but we'll see what happens. I get horrifically sore boobs every month so as soon as that starts I know I'm out!

Rtmhwales · 26/07/2021 01:51

Saying hi as well!

On cycle 7 after a MMC in December. Trying to keep my hopes up. Tested this morning as 9DPO but not sure I can trust where I'm at in my cycle honestly. Was a BFN which is to be expected but got a BFP on day 8 with the other two pregnancies in the past so not holding my breath this time! Due to ovulate again around august 11.

It's exhausting and disheartening isn't it?!

cossmoss · 26/07/2021 13:12

Can I join, please? CD2, this will be month four of trying after a pregnancy of unknown location in January. I'm 37. Hoping this is the month! Getting very grumpy about it all...

WyncyG · 26/07/2021 13:29

Now 14 dpo, v light spotting lasted two dates but stopped last night, took another test and it's negative. Wondering if I'm on CD29 OR CD3 🙈 does anyone chart BBT and can recommend a thermometer?

Bibidy · 26/07/2021 13:40

I will join too :)

Haven't ruled out this month yet as I'm not due on til the 2nd but I just have a feeling it's not happened, you know? Don't wanna test until the day I'm due, if necessary.

Came off the mini-pill mid-May and luckily have had regular periods are round the same time both months since. They are only 4 days though, which I don't think was the case when I was last off the pill Hmm. That was a few years ago though! So wondering if it's still leaving my system or whatever.

Fingers crossed for everyone :)

Ah had a little panic when I went to post on the July bus and it said closed!!
Thank god for this thread, thanks @ViL89 for setting up the new bus! Hope it’s ok to join!xx

I’m currently TTC #1, august will be cycle 5, sadly had an early mc back in March, cycle day 28 and 9dpo - so currently in the nightmare TWW! Havnt tested yet but my will power is decreasing as we speak!!xx

@twochews78 hey I’m at my worst point cycle day 28, 9dpo according to apps, really fighting a strong urge to test, feeling like AF is on her way!! Tried to stay off here for a few days to stay away from apps etc to try and forget about everything, which I think has helped me get this far without testing! But feeling it today!!! How’s you? What cycle day are you now? I think I’ll be cycle day one again in a couple of days xx

DeviousImp17 · 26/07/2021 14:00

I’m in July, but my AF is due 8 August. I’m 3 DPO. I won’t be testing until next Thursday (5 August). But I’m on the train!

hend21 · 26/07/2021 15:02

Can I join in? feeling like I need a bit of support. We started TTC at the beginning of the year and it worked first time, unfortunately I found out I had a MMC at 12 weeks.
We've started to try again and just finishing AF after 2 months of trying. I'm just on my way back from having blood tests as I'm pretty sure I'm anemic which probably isn't helping.
Both times around this time I've felt really positive and thought I'm not going to go crazy with the tests and both times I tested loads.

Good luck everyone

Sam8582 · 26/07/2021 15:11

Thanks @ViL89 for setting up the new bus, I was wondering if someone would set a new one up :)

Wasn't as active last bus, threw my toys out of the pram haha but I'm back, currently CD2 so here's to August ladies!!! Good luck to all 💕

ViL89 · 26/07/2021 15:19

Hi @BritInNZ you're not out til you're out try not to focus on it if you can and just stay positive

@WyncyG I don't chart my temp I just found it another thing to stress about so just do ovulation tests here and try and have lots of sex ! Do what ever works best for you though

@Rtmhwales sorry to hear you're finding it tough I'm trying to stay super positive and take every cycle as it comes, but I get it its tough. Hopefully we can look back on this time with babies in a year and think we were super strong 💪

X

Hi all, I'm 8dpo on cycle 1 of ttc. Got the sticks all lined up and just itching to get testing but trying to resist until 14dpo. Good luck to everyone Smile

Flossy1982 · 26/07/2021 15:55

Hi, joining in if ok - I’m still on the July bus but at 8dpo it could well be the August one for either BFP 🙏🏻💫🤞🏻 or trying again. I’ve had mild cramps or dull aches down below on & off since after ovulation which is unusual for me and various other symptoms that could be pms or potential pregnancy. I’ve given myself a telling off for obsessing over tests taken far too early. I personally like testing but I need to just throw them away when they are negative 🤦🏻‍♀️ Testing on Wednesday at 10dpo 💫🙏🏻🤞🏻

Flossy1982 · 26/07/2021 15:57

TTC for 3 years #1 and i’m 38 and have had losses so at least we know we can conceive and all looks good with me other than 3 fibroids outside of uterus but they don’t believe this is any problem

Celina94 · 26/07/2021 16:06

New here! TTC journey began in June, suspecting that I had not ovulated that month as period came on day 37 (super late for me!) but attribute it to stress perhaps as it was a difficult month for me. This past month I took ovulation strips which were continuously negative but not sure how much to trust these as I felt the symptoms... so confusing :(. At my two wait week atm so will test at the end of this week!!!

This journey can be lonely at times so I hope to find some new online buddies in the same boat!!

MrsSG90 · 26/07/2021 16:46

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me joining.
I’m 31 and ttc our first. I’m 9dpo on our first cycle.
From about 3dpo I’ve had intermittent nausea all through the day, a headache everyday, and cramps (more discomfort than pain). I’ve also not really been interested in food except chocolate and cake. I never get any symptoms until the first day of my AF, which isn’t due until 1st. Has anyone else ever had symptoms so early with previous pregnancies? I’m aware that there is no evidence that women should get any symptoms this early, but it’s so unlike my body. 😘

purpleskyssssss · 26/07/2021 18:17

Hoping back on the bus! August will be cycle 10 ttc - AF has started to come on Saturday but spotting very lightly, took a relaxed approach this month as was driving myself crazy so I was not sure when ovulation was.

I have a call with the Dr tomorrow though hoping she will put me forward for some test and finally got OH to get booked in for his sperm analysis 😄😄😄

BritInNZ · 26/07/2021 18:42

I finally got a higher temp on CD20! That's really late for me as I have a 28 day cycle 😬 also quite annoying because we hadn't DTF for 5 days before I got that temp rise! Now on CD22. If it was really late ovulation, is there anything that can be done to help? It's either late ovulation or I'm getting sick as I've got a bit of an itchy throat today!

Twochews78 · 26/07/2021 20:18

@Willow1982 I’m CD9 and got a flashy smiley, but I just don’t feel my hearts in it. Think it mentally takes a lot out of you! It can be all consuming, especially if on here all day. It’s so hard to resist testing!! Let me know how you get on and if you decide to test. Do you have frers? xx

Willow1982 · 26/07/2021 22:34

@Twochews78 god I’m so with you, I’m feeling so deflated by it all at the mo, just have a strong feeling it’s not my month, I do have some frer I’m kinda scared to use one too early, as I know once I see that bfn I know it will be over again, at least until I test I have a smidge of hope!! Good luck to you for your next few days, I’m sure once you see that static you will feel more motivated, it’s so hard though, don’t know if I’m going to track august….who am i kidding!!😂xx

WyncyG · 26/07/2021 22:59

Thanks @ViL89 - that has been our approach 🤭 as #1 was conceived via 'NTNP', my husband has always said he wanted to do the trying part next time. To be honest for a few weeks there I felt like I was 19 again and really enjoying daily sex (we had been in a bit of a rut not DTD very often).
I'm hoping once AF has passed (she arrived today, a bit late 😤) we can replay the magic of cycle 1 ha.

Nervousdave · 26/07/2021 23:40

Toot toot! Mind if I join too?
33 TTC number 2. Cycle 2, after a weird half period in July, I am possibly 1dpo/ov today. Due to being hungover, we didn't dtd yesterday 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I suspect we have missed the window.
First month trying ovulation sticks, haven't had anything close to the control line, but yesterday afternoon's were darker than any others before or since.

wellitywell · 27/07/2021 00:17

@BritInNZ - so frustrating isn't it? There's sometimes no rhyme or reason, but if you are healthy and exercise, you just assume it'll be alright! Fingers crossed for you!

@Rtmhwales exhausting and disheartening sums it up pretty well. So sorry you're having a tough time and sorry for your loss.

@hend21 sorry about your mc, welcome to the August bus xxx

wellitywell · 27/07/2021 00:20

Does anyone else tell their friends that they're trying? I've told a few people as I don't like the idea of not telling people and being "ashamed" if I can't conceive or if I have a MC. I sort of want to normalise it a bit more. And as soon as I started talking about it, everyone opens up about their journey!

It also meant that one of my friends has donated her unused OPKs to me after I told her (they are having to do the IVF route, sadly)

AF due Thursday or Friday and pretty convinced it's not my month. So we'll be starting again for August's "sex rota", as poor DH calls it Grin

Yep I am happy to tell people too! I think it's important that people know it's not that easy and why I might be feeling sad or down. The only people I wouldn't tell are my parents and my in-laws because I know they'd be super excited and annoying, and I wouldn't want to get their hopes up. But I've had lots of advice from friends who also struggled and know what it's like to go through which has been an amazing support for me.
