Newbie looking for some support

Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Thing is my heart says leave it and just live in the moment like you say, but my head is like, no bitch ya gotta know!!! I’ll have to see which one takes over tomorrow.

Trouble is, what if I leave it tomorrow and I should have gotta a static, then test Friday and get a static that I think is gunna last 48 hours but I missed the 1st 24 because I didn’t test!

You see how this is gunna spiral pretty quickly for me? 🤣

Sometime I feel too much info is stressful!

I've always wondered what happens to the sperm that make it to end of the Fallopian tube? I mean... is it like a space film where they just float off into the void?

@peachycream I feel exactly the same. Stressed if I do, and stressed if I don’t. I like to know because the stress of not knowing is stressful.

Anyway I’m going to go and stress some more 😂

about fertilisation and was amazed at how my body kills off sperm. Then I thought about all the sperm that die or get trapped along the way - and my body has to clean them up too. Honestly I get why AF is so angry now... she spends so long decorating my uterus... then I don't get pregnant AND my body has to clean up the dead sperm!

@HRP1990 good luck on this cycle 👏🏻 exciting that you're ovulating!!

@Peachycream I've used CB but just the ones that a static so you either get a smiley or you don't! I know what you mean about counting a cycle out... it's stressful knowing that you might not DTD in time if you have conflicting plans!

I've also heard that it takes sperm 12 hours or so to travel to where it needs to be 😂 so DTD before the smiley is probably a good thing!

Hahaha the sperm convo has had me giggling 😂🤣

@HRP1990 yeah they did but negative 😔 so I'm wondering if maybe I didn't ovulate last cycle or something 🤷🏻‍♀️ normally I get ovulating pains on my right side so I'll look out for those and EWCM... Will try and DTD as much as I can persuade my other half to 🤣 but think I might have to track from my next cycle as I've no idea where abouts I am rn!

Hi everyone! Been absent on here the past few days and so much to catch up on i need to settle down with a brew and run through! Hope everyone is doing okay and had a nice Bank Holiday weekend?! I am currently CD11 so starting my FW, using CB OPKs but trying not to stress too much just DTD when we feel like it :)

@Peachycream I’d personally just test every day and DTD as and when you can. I’d be more stressed not testing and worrying that I’ve missed an opportunity?

My boyfriend woke me up in the middle of the night to DTD randomly.. cram it in when you can haha

Thanks @Peachycream :) I would test everyday, i am using CB OPKs and testing same time every morning, mine are the static smiley or blank circle so far all blank circles but in FW according to flo now so we will see!

@Peachycream - put Dr Google down. I shouldn't tell you this but he's not even a real doctor 🤫

I'd say keep testing and just see what happens. If you think you've missed it then that's sad but at least you'll know - and you'll have a less stressful 2WW. If you do think you've hit it the. It'll be the normal 2WW stress.

@HRP1990 😅😅 your boyfriend wondering what the hell your watching. Whatever you do... don't want a birthing video. The science of conception is one thing.... the trauma of birth is another.

Fun story I went to visit my sister after she gave birth with her first. She grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes and said 'they lie - it hurts. It hurts and you don't forget the pain... they just want you to have a baby'

So I’ve decided I’m going to test and think of this month as a “tracker month” so that I can work out timings to predict a little better next month, it’s only my 1st cycle trying so it’s not the end of the world and then we can be better prepared to arrange our work schedules next month as we will have more of an idea when it’s going to happen. And if I don’t miss it, it’s happy days!

Hey @KayL1988 was lovely although I am suffering with some burnt shoulders!! How was yours?

@ksamson555 it was lovely, still quite nice at the mo making work lunches lovely :-)

@peachycream this is my 2nd proper cycle and I only started using opks to see how I was going. Last month we just dtd when flo predicted but it didn't happen so hoping opks can help confirm I ovulate :-) it's such a learning process no one teaches you haha!

@Aries491 it 100% is!! You're told never to have unprotected sex ever as a teen but the chances of getting pregnant each month aren't actually that high are they!!

@Ksamson555 chances are ridiculously low as far as I figure! I think it’s STDs that are more the worry for teens, but when you think about it from a teenage mind, what’s more scary? Getting pregnant or getting an STD, which are mostly quite treatable.........I know which one would freak me more!

@Aries491 I only started with OPKs as I never really bothered with tracking or anything so I didn’t have any apps. AF turned up when she turned up and I got on with my life haha! So I got them cause although I knew AF generally turned up around the same time, if you had asked me a date I was due, up until last month I wouldn’t have been able to tell you, I’d have just been like 🤷‍♀️ which is probably pretty bad in hindsight haha!

@Aries491 lovely weekend - so glad for the sunshine! OPK kits give you much more of an idea than the apps.

@Peachycream I think that sounds like the perfect plan. No stress just a baselining month.

@Ksamson555 I know right they just clearly don't want everyone spreading STDs everywhere. Also I guess it's not predictable just by dates so easier to teach people to use protection!

@KayL1988 whoever gets their BFP in the next 2 months has times it perfectly! I’d rather be big and uncomfortable in the winter than in the summer when it’s uncomfortable just breathing 🤣

Oh god I know @Peachycream - being heavily pregnant in the cool of winter is much better. Only downside is missing out on the Christmas parties!! Lucky sausages who get pregnant over the next few months!!

All the sperm chat today has killed me 😂

@Peachycream I was actually thinking today that being heavily pregnant in this weather would not be fun at all! I also think better to keep tracking throughout so you can get a good sense of what’s going on 🤞🏻
