Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

@Aries491 and @SareBear87 how are you both?

Oh that’s exciting you’re in the TWW @aries491!

All of this cheese talk is making me feel very hungry 😂

@Dannii892 i have no idea if it matters or not but it does seem to be the gold standard, if you’ll pardon the pun 😂

I think we only get 1000 posts right? And at this rate we will need a new one by the end of the day!

Dannii892 · 16/06/2021 14:19

@Peachycream 😂😂😂 love a pun!
Right than 2 days away 😲 .. eeek!
I'm absolutely starving not eaten today yet.. I think im going to have some cereal 😋

Peachycream · 16/06/2021 14:22

Does anyone else check their apps periodically throughout the day expecting them to do something? 😂

I have no idea why I do it, I know full well once I’ve put in my stuff nothing happens!

OP posts:
Aries491 · 16/06/2021 14:23

I'm good @Peachycream thank you how are you?
Yes sitting here patiently (or not!) Haha, just trying not to symptom spot but noting anything unusual down anyway. Be lovely if the witch stayed away!

HRP1990 · 16/06/2021 14:27

That’s so exciting @Aries491! It might be abit early but I like to symptom spot, makes the day more exciting! I know I’ve only had one cycle lol but the excitement of being in my fertile window/X amount of DPO with a little bean pending haha. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you! We cannot fill a thread with 1,000 posts and only 1BFP🤞

Peachycream · 16/06/2021 14:28

@Aries491 I’m good thank you lovely. How do you feel about this one? You got a good feeling or are you trying not to focus on it? Keeping everything crossed that she says away for you!

This feels so much like a little WhatsApp group 🤰

Peachycream · 16/06/2021 14:31

I like it @HRP1990 it might sound sad but I feel like we’re all proper little friends 😂

HRP1990 · 16/06/2021 14:35

I know I’m spoken to you more in 3 weeks than my real life friends 😂 @Peachycream

Peachycream · 16/06/2021 14:42

😂😂😂 me too @HRP1990

I’ve actually had loads of fun talking to all of you over the last few weeks

OP posts:
Aries491 · 16/06/2021 16:06

I think it is hard not to when planning, I imagine if I wasn't planning or properly trying i wouldn't notice half these things haha @HRP1990 and thanks for the fingers crossed! 😀

@Peachycream I feel better this time only because I used the clearblue opks so got a smiley and could confirm ovulation whereas previously I'd just been following apps which aren't that accurate unless you input the data lol. At the same time I'm trying to just get on with things and not think too much on it and just see :)

I have to agree having others to chat to is great and I have learned a lot too so thanks to you all:-)

GingerTea333 · 16/06/2021 16:08

Hi ladies! Just catching up on the thread and as always you have made me giggle! Very jealous of cheese chat, I haven’t eaten it in a few years since I went vegan and I occasionally pine for it

@Peachycream I definitely tried the rooting around for the cervix positions, but still don’t know if I’m actually prodding the right bit or not 😂 I do get obsessive about watching my CM in the TWW trying to see if there is more / less / the right consistency. Every time I go to the loo it’s like a forensic exam of my pants!

Unexpectedly got my peak this morning 2 days early which has worried me as it means I missed half my window with my bf being away. We got on it this morning but might try to pin him down again later just to be safe! Had to have a cold shower first, and then window open and 2 fans just to be cool enough for him to touch me 😂

Peachycream · 16/06/2021 16:24

@Aries491 I’m glad you feel better about it this time lovely! Whatever helps right? Well fingers crossed for you this cycle! Hopefully it’s the lucky one for you.

@GingerTea333 how the devil are you?!
It might be 2 days early but at least you caught it! You’ve only gotta do it once, so this morning could have been that once!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one having a little root around! I know it’s difficult to tell right? I’m also struggling with the “squish factor” as I am now going to name it. Like the tip of your nose is hard, lips is soft but what the fuck is somewhere in between?! I don’t get it!
I’m also the same on knicker watch. To be honest, it all looks relatively the same to me 🤷‍♀️ but I guess as the cycles go on I’ll eventually learn what is what?

Did you go vegan for moral or health reasons? Is that rude to ask?! I think if I’ve had to ask that question it probably is! 😂 but I don’t mean it that way I’m just curious. I’ve tried it for health reasons, but I struggled with it after a while, I’m not really a huge meat eater but until I did it I don’t think I was fully aware of how many things actually contain animal products. Even down to beauty products, I mean I knew some animal test and have animal fats in them and I always buy cruelty free for whatever that is worth, but almost everything has some kind of bee product or something else…….I’m waffling now……sorry 😂

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 16/06/2021 16:51

@GingerTea333 at least you caught your peak in time! Now you’ve got to make up for lost time in this heat 😂😵‍💫

On a side note, I’ve got 3 days left of my Pregnacare vits.. before I repurchase. Is anyone taking anything else they’d recommend? I’m open to options!

GingerTea333 · 16/06/2021 16:52

Exactly! Also, mine is (I think) further back than I was expecting. Like less straight up and more back towards my bum. But I could be poking away at the wrong thing. Could definitely do with a sat nav or some kind of probe that tells me if I’ve got the right spot!

Went vegan for a few reasons - health, moral and environment. Sometimes I do have stuff with honey in it but no actual animal products and also try to avoid palm oil - which is probably the hardest thing of all! I did it a few years ago and actually I quite enjoy it but it can make buying things and going out for dinner etc much harder. Lockdown was much easier for that with just eating at home every day and actually having time to cook!

Are you feeling more relaxed now you have taken a test even if it was BFN - just to scratch the itch?

How is everyone else doing?

GingerTea333 · 16/06/2021 16:56

Also, and I know we say this a lot, why were we never taught about this in school? Where is your cervix, what should it feel like... how is that less important than photosynthesis?

Peachycream · 16/06/2021 17:03

I know right? When I was having a mooch and a google I saw a bit that said about seeing it with a mirror?! How are people seeing it? Surely it’s too far inside to see without any medical equipment?! I think mine is in the same place as yours but here’s the question, does that mean it’s high? And if that’s high, where is low? Or how low is low? Apparently it moves about during your cycle but I can’t say I’ve really had any noticeable movement?

Yeah palm oil is in virtually everything isn’t it? It’s good that you’re enjoying it all, do you eat any of the meat substitutes or anything?

Yeah so much more relaxed, the BFN hasn’t really worried me as I was expecting it anyway so it’s not like I had a lot of hope to begin with this cycle. I think what’s going to stress me is missing O when oh is away, I did think about not tracking and going ignorance is bliss but I’ve decided I’m going to keep going for at least another cycle but rather than putting any pressure on it I’m really doing it for my own information ya know? Knowing more about my body and my cycle is never going to harm me. She says……..until the next one

@GingerTea333 I am also vegan 🌱 ☺️ Hard to do everything completely “right” but I try my best. Have you come across any good vegan pregnancy journey blogs/vlogs at all? I’ve been struggling to find any really good ones.

SkeletonSkins · 16/06/2021 17:29

@Peachycream right I have tried but it mostly always feels the same to me? Idk if I’m touching the right but though?? 😂😂😂

@GingerTea333 well done on catching your peak!! It does make you realise how inaccurate like just the apps are as it can totally vary. I sometimes wonder how often people try for months and months relying on those apps and trying at the total wrong times?

@HRP1990 I’m using conceive plus ovulation support because my cycles are shit and long and this is meant to help, and fertility support for the vitamins, I want to get an omega 3 supplement too. No idea if i recommend them though as not been taking them long 😂 I swear I rattle.

Omg I love the names so much, I think my fave is 30ish newbies witching for the best @KayL1988 although they’re all amazing!

@Peachycream I totally check the apps all day and sometimes I look at my temps for a bit or look at when I’m predicted to ovulate, no idea why 😂😂

HRP1990 · 16/06/2021 17:32

Just contributing towards the cervix chat 😂 @Peachycream @GingerTea333 I haven’t had a route around but I’d love to know how it should feel during your cycle!

I know mine is retroverted from having a colonoscopy and other things a few years ago. (Which means it’s tilted FYI) other than that 🤷🏻‍♀️

The satnav comment 😂😂

HRP1990 · 16/06/2021 17:33

@SkeletonSkins that’s hilarious 😂 all the vitamins rattling around in your stomach

Aries491 · 16/06/2021 17:43

@Peachycream exactly and if it doesn't work I'm learning about my body!

I have to agree with some comments re school, we weren't taught enough tbh, not sure what they are teaching now but I doubt it's much different!

@hrp1990 I am just taking asda pregnancy and conception vitamins, they have everything recommended in including the folic acid. They don't seem to have messed up my cycles so I'm happy with them as it goes :)

KayL1988 · 16/06/2021 19:25

Just caught up. This is such a lovely chat it doesn't feel like a friends WhatsApp group! Love all the new thread names.. I'd be happy with any of them

GingerTea333 · 16/06/2021 20:05

@Peachycream I am the same as you - I know we will miss O next month so that’s why I was a bit stressed about missing half my window this month! Think I will carry on tracking with the cheap OPKs anyway because knowledge is power, but not going to waste my clearblue monitor sticks on a dead month!

We have some vegan meats - a chicken one and a steak one occasionally, and sometimes sausages. But the longer we’re vegan, the more we are relying on tofu and beans etc for our protein. Definitely feel a bit healthier this way

@glasspaw yay 🌱😘 I haven’t really looked for any blogs but there have been a few podcasts lately that I listened to about eating vegan for fertility / pregnancy / breastfeeding and getting everything you need. I think I listened to a really good one on the Food Medic. Is there any deliciously Ella stuff? It still feels so unlikely to me I will ever get pregnant so I am not really focusing on what happens if i do!

Also love that I’m not alone on the cervix stuff. So glad I now have people I can talk to about this and don’t feel completely insane! I’ve actually stopped poking around up there because I’m not sure it gave me any more information and just gave me one more thing to do endlessly google!

The one different thing I have done this month is use the conceive plus applicator lube things. Has anyone tried them? Such a bizarre thing to find yourself doing and then it just means there’s even more stuff up there to work it’s way out afterwards...

HRP1990 · 16/06/2021 20:28

I just had to google what the conceive plus applicator thing was @GingerTea333! I’ve read lots of things about pre seed lube, I assume it’s the same? How have you found it so far?

I’m very intrigued by it all! My new purchase this cycle is a thermometer I think next month might be some fertility lube lol
