Newbie looking for some support

Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

@KayL1988 yeah that would be a downside to it, but we gotta pick our battles right? Haha

@GingerTea333 no it wouldnt, especially at night sleeping, I think I would have to move into my freezer. Yeah that’s what I think I’m going to do, worst case is that I’m more informed for next cycle

I hope so! I’m excited to find out who it is! Wouldn’t it be great if it was all of us and we could all move onto the pregnancy pages together?

Will any of you test early or wait until AF is due?

I wasted so much money last month on FRER’s and CB digitals, so just think maybe buy some internet cheapies this month if I get the urge?

@1stimer16 I’m going to try and wait until AF is due or I think I’ll drive myself insane with it

@Peachycream I think we will all have to keep each other on the straight and narrow to make sure we don’t 😂

@1stimer16 I am currently facing the touch and go moment of will I miss O at the moment as me and my OH have conflicting work schedules so I need to get through that insanity before I even think about testing 🤣

But I’ll definitely be here to talk you off the ledge when you need me, no lemming diving here!

@Peachycream oh no! Well I hope you guys find some time to DTD and spend some time together. Fingers crossed for you this month, do you work shifts?

@1stimer16 My peak was yesterday and O was today so you need to stop me testing early! I’ve seen people get BFP from 6DPO which seems so early! My luteal phase is 11 days so hopefully I can hold on 🤞🏻

Wouldn’t that be lovely @Peachycream to all move onto the Pregnancy chats together! What do you do for work if you don’t mind me asking?

@HRP1990 ha I will try, but I don’t have much restraint! Plus I was convinced last month that I would get a BFP but AF arrived so I’m just going to assume any symptom could be either and try not to symptom spot this month as well...

We will all keep each other sane!

@Peachycream hi!! Yes still here! I am on cd43 today and no sign of af or a bfp😭 last cycle was 34 days so i got my hopes up it was becoming regular but apparently not!

I have bought opks for next cycle and will temp as i feel like i may not be ovulating maybe?! God knows! Will wait for af and then get temping to get a better understanding next cycle! How are you? Xx

@1stimer16 I thought I was having twinges in my stomach last week, turns out I hadn’t even ovulated so I’m going to disregard every symptom now 😂

It's interesting because every little thing my body does in so aware of. Then once AF came I feel like I've stopped overthinking again. I'll see you in a couple of weeks when I'm obsessed about feeling ovulation likes a ping pong ball being hurtled through my body 😅

@CTMcG oh no!! I wonder why this one is such a long one for you? I hope AF turns up soon for you so you can figure out what’s going on. Have you done anything different this cycle that may have pushed it off?

Yeah I’m good thank you hun, although this heat is killing me! What about you, other than your cycle issues?

@HRP1990 oh were they? That’s cool, I’m kinda glad I do what I do, I’m not sure I’d have coped having 90% of last year off work!
That’s cool, I’m awful with social media, I don’t even use it for myself 🤣 I’m a terrible millennial!

@Peachycream I used my fitbit more before ttc, I came off the pill last year so found it helpful in tracking when my periods were as had been so used to the pill lol never really tracked it before without a packet of tablets haha!

I got flo now alongside fitbit but as they only estimate I thought some opks might be helpful:-)

Good to know @kayL1988 I am adding the details to my app so hopefully it picks up a trend although I'm forever hoping they might not be needed again!

Would be fab if we all got BFPs soon 😀

@Peachycream i am off the pill since December. It was 45 days after stopping that i had my first period. 2nd cycle was 42 days long and 3rd one was 34 days. I am now waiting for my 4th period since coming off pill.

DH & I had been using condoms up until cycle 15 of my current cycle. We were initially waiting to the end of this year before ttc but glad we decided to start now as ive a feeling its not going to be easy for me!

I have pcos but that last cycle being 34 days gave me false hope that my cycles were getting more 'normal' 😭

Ive been taking pregnacare before conception for about 3.5 weeks now.

@Aries491 I find them helpful, like you keeping an eye on my periods wasn’t my thing so I’ve found them helpful to know what’s happening when.

@CTMcG Awh hopefully not hun and it all levels out soon, could it be the vitamins? I’ve seen somewhere that they can mess your cycle up a little bit. I don’t take any so I can’t speak from any experience on that one.

I’m sure once you get your cycles managed you’ll be fine and it will happen quickly for you.

Loads of people get pregnant quickly with pcos so hopefully it will all be fine for you and if it takes a while that’s okay too. As you have pcos can’t you speak to your GP and see if they can give you something to level out your cycles? I’ve read on here somewhere (can’t remember the thread) but some people have been given medication to help?

@Peachycream i dont think they will give me anything yet tbh - because im only on 1st cycle ttc and its only been 6 months off the pill and they will advise it can take a year etc!

I will try relax and see what happens the next few months and if ive no luck then i will go to gp and see what they advise! I hear the pregnacare can mess up cycles but i thought it was only for this with normal ones lol. Are you taken any sort of vitamins? Xx

I’m not sure if it’s coincidence @CTMcG but I’ve taken the Pregnacare for about 10 days.. My last cycle was 25 days, this cycle I’ve ovulated on day 19! So my cycle will be super long this month.

@CTMcG fingers crossed we both have 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Yes! 1990💁🏻‍♀️ The best year I’d say! I loved growing up without the pressure of social media, no phones etc. It’s so different now..

@HRP1990 good luck!!🤞🏼 i was conceived in the 80s, born in the 90's - feb baby! Was suppose to be born on valentines day but i was a stubborn one and came along 2 days later! Haha

I focused dtd so much on the week i thought i was ovulating (going by flo app) about 4/5 times that week and really only 1-2 times every week since so its not impossible but less likely but sure its all a learning curve!!
