Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

@HRP1990 and @Peachycream it is exciting! Do you not feel like a TWW feels a bit like finding out if you've got a job offer? Feel like it's the same feeling 'I did everything I could possibly do... If I don't get it then it's not meant to be... they'll be another one'.
Yesss HRP get all the good food.. sounds perfect! I'm definitely keeping busy got lots planned and to do... now I've got the CB monitor it won't let me test for pregnancy until I'm due... so hopefully that will keep me on track!

@Aries491 I'm doing well.. how's you!? AF 🧙‍♀️ is due the 25th for me (so we are pretty much on the same cycle!). I think sarebear is too .. so they'll be a few of us on this TWW!!

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 10:12

100% @KayL1988 I’m currently still waiting for my call back 🤣
That’s good that the monitor won’t let you test though, hopefully that will help keep you away from it all! Fingers crossed for you 🥰

Good luck to you both @Aries491 with your TWW.

Aries491 · 14/06/2021 10:15

Glad to hear @KayL1988 :) i am doing well too! Ah great some of us are cycle buddies, my cycles vary days wise (averaging at 31 currently) so if 31 days it'll be 22nd but 24th is the latest so gonna try hold out for then in terms of testing!
You got plenty planned for the TWW? I am just throwing myself into work and I'm doing a qualification at the mo so that should take my mind off things hopefully! Trying to be more relaxed and not google as much :) xx

HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 10:20

@KayL1988 that’s a good way to look at it! And like Peachy said it’ll keep you on track if you can’t test early.

@Peachycream same 😂 I’m currently on hold 🙄 lol (secretly hoping I've potentially implanted late but who knows. TTC is wild!)

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 10:26

I’m not sure what’s worse @HRP1990 still waiting for the call back or being on hold 😂
Fingers crossed for you lovely 🥰 hopefully it’s just a bit early.
How are you doing with your BFN today though? Do you feel 🧙 at all?

I mean, I ask you this, wondering if really anyone ever feels any different at all? I’ve seen loads of articles recently about women having no idea they were even pregnant until a baby popped out on the loo/A&E and even more amazingly, while on a night out in a club 😂

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 10:37

@Peachycream I don’t know how women have no idea they’re not pregnant, surely there are missed periods and a huge bump? Otherwise where is the baby hiding!

I thought I might be pregnant as I had a few symptoms but I’m sure loads of people think the same to then be a disappointed by a BFN! I had a few cramps this morning and now nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ My boobs were hurting a few days ago and they were really veiny lol I’m just not looking into anything anymore it’s too confusing - Who knows!!

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 10:51

@HRP1990 I wondered this too, I have no idea about the bump though or where it hides but I do know that some women still have “periods” throughout pregnancy. I don’t think it’s hugely common, but it happens, I think I’ve actually seen someone have it on here somewhere.

I think it’s probably really difficult to tell because the symptoms can be exactly the same so I wouldn’t worry too much until she shows her face. Like you say, it could just be late implantation. Will you test again tomorrow if no AF or will you wait a few days?

So, I said I’d keep this thread updated, here is my daily WTF moment.

This probably won’t come as a surprise for anyone with kids already, but I notified my GP and I don’t actually see or speak to anyone about this for another FOUR WEEKS. That feels like an awfully long time for a first pregnancy. I’m trying to learn what I can/can’t do or eat or drink from the internet 😅 feels like a recipe for disaster.

I’m surprised there’s not some sort of early telephone consultation service that you can opt into just to ask those initial questions! I just assumed you’d see someone at around 6 weeks latest.

I guess maybe it’s because early pregnancy loss is so common? But surely helping people understand what they can do to prevent early loss would be useful right?

KayL1988 · 14/06/2021 11:46

Oh my god @glasspaw that is such a long time!!! And yes you'd think they'd arrange some sort of call.. I guess they just rely on people knowing what's best to do! I feel like that's going to make me a nervous wreck in itself!!

Women who don't know they are pregnant amaze me.. do they just think they are bloated?? And the babies kicks are just strong gas?? I understand women not finding out till a few months in when their bump pops, because 🧙‍♀️ can be so irregular... but a full 9 months??

KayL1988 · 14/06/2021 11:48

Also @glasspaw do you think they are saying 4 weeks because of covid?

www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/finding-out/finding-out-you-are-pregnant/ ... NHS website says as soon as possible!

PurpleCat88 · 14/06/2021 11:53

@glasspaw where I live I can self refer online without going through the GP. I’ve heard of women not having their booking in appointment multilevel around the 12 week scan! Do you think you’ll get a private scan?

Maybe there’s a book you can buy to confirm what you can eat etc? I think Clemmie Hooper’s ‘How to Grow a Baby’ looks like a good one (and uk based). It’s a book I was eying up to buy when I get a BFP!

PurpleCat88 · 14/06/2021 11:54

Not sure where ‘multilevel’ came from! Think it was supposed to be ‘until’ 🧐

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 12:00

Awh @glasspaw how annoying! Did you tell them how many weeks you think you are or did they just presume? You’d think for a first timer they would be a little more helpful and even if they don’t do bloods or a urine sample would at least get you in to have a “fuzzy chat”

OP posts:
glasspaw · 14/06/2021 12:08

@KayL1988 Apparently 8 weeks is standard at my surgery regardless of the covid situation, but partners still can’t come into appointments which I think is awful. It’s his journey too!

@Peachycream they asked how many weeks and I said I think I’m 4 + 2 but I guess that gets confirmed later on. That’s exactly it, I want my fuzzy chat haha!

@PurpleCat88 12 weeks is such a long time! That’s mad. I’m ok not having a scan til then (mainly cause I don’t fancy a TVUS and I think it has to be one of those until 10 weeks!) but I do have a tonne of questions that I’d like to ask. I’ll check out that book :) feel like having a huge reading pile is going to get me through this haha

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 12:27

@glasspaw bless ya hun, do you have an early pregnancy unit near you? Maybe give them a call, I’m sure they can help in some way even if they just advise the Dos and Donts. I’d lay it on a bit thick and tell them you’re really anxious and your GP won’t see you yet, maybe they’ll bring you in for some warm fuzzies, even a cuppa and a biccy would be something at this point 😂

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 13:06

Wow I didn’t realise there was such a lack of support for early pregnancy? Imagine being like 16 and pregnant and you literally can’t even go to see the GP for a chat.

This is whole experience is such a learning curve.

I’d start a chat on the pregnancy forum here @glasspaw as it would be nice to chat to other ladies around the same weeks as you to bounce off of until you can see your Gp x

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 13:16

I was just having a little look on the NHS site at bits and bobs and fell into a loop. I have 2 points that have come from this:

  1. Did you know it doesn’t matter if you use FMU or not, if it’s positive it’ll be positive at any point in the day?
  1. If you’re over 13 and pregnant you’re allowed confidential advice. They will encourage you to tell your parents, but health professionals aren’t able to do it after 13 years old. 13. THIRTEEN!?

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 18:02

Hey ladies

It’s been quiet around here today! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? Any news? Any not news?

I have no news, other than it’s too hot to function and hay fever has been a bitch all day 😂

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 18:05

I’m reading a book in the sun and it’s glorious out still!

No news from me, a tiny bit of pink when I went to the loo earlier but no 🧙🏻‍♀️🤞🏻

Are you testing @Peachycream or letting fate decide!? lol

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 18:11

@HRP1990 hopefully the pink is a good sign rather than a 🧙 coming up!

I can’t deal, my eyes are itching so much I wanna scratch them out 😂

I’m not sure, I’m 10DPO tomorrow but have been feeling very 🧙y for the last 2 days so I don’t know if to test tomorrow and resign myself to the BFN or wait and see what happens

OP posts:
Dannii892 · 14/06/2021 18:16

No news here although ordered some frer which is still in the postbox lol .. had some really light cramps and what can only describe as electric shocks in my uterus .. not going to get my hopes up though .. thinking to do a test tomorrow at 10dpo but also don't want to see a bfn lol .. anybody else thinking of testing? Any odd things happening? X

Dannii892 · 14/06/2021 18:17

Oh and been dying from this heat and feeling so so so tired .. but most likely pms right x

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 18:26

@Dannii892 I was gunna buy some today but I haven’t as yet. I don’t know what to do 😂

Electric shocks? That’s weird, could be a good sign though! Fingers crossed for you 🥰

Nothing odd to report here

OP posts:
Dannii892 · 14/06/2021 18:37

@Peachycream I know what you mean.. I have them but I cant convinse myself to use one lol but 10dpo is still early right?

Yes electric shocks - literally like sharp shock over the last few days, hopingnots something but also convincing myself its not. Thank you 😊
When is af due for you? Mine is the 23rd .. long old slog to wait! X

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 18:47

@Dannii892 I’m thinking the longer I don’t buy them for the longer I can’t test for 😂

Yeah that’s what I’m telling myself too, latest for implantation is 12dpo so we still have time 😂 I think that’s very much wishful thinking on my part at least though just because my timings were so tight.

Is this the thing that you had the other morning? You’re still getting those? How strange, well you never know! Let’s hope it’s a good sign, positivity is the key!

Mine is 19th so still got the best part of a week!
