Newbie looking for some support

Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

@Peachycream no what I had around 3dpo woke me up and it was intense period pains for about 5 minutes- 2 morning in a row (v.strange)
But over the last 2-3 days it's been like electric shocks and vvv mild cramps - I would say completely different feelings.
But who knows.. ive read some threads and some lead to a bfn and some to a bfp, was talking to my mother the other day and she said she had no symptoms what so ever so I wouldn't count yourself out!

I really dont know if I will test tomorrow 😕 x

@Peachycream there’s definitely still time! I tested bfn at 12DPO and was so adamant that my period was going to start the next night that I actually wore a pad to bed. Bfp didn’t show until 15DPO, and even then it was so faint on the one step test I did, wasn’t til I took the FRER that I really believed it.

@glasspaw my bestie had a scan at 6 weeks (she underwent fertility treatment) and it looked like picture of fried egg in black &white but they confirmed a heartbeat- I totally would go for one because I can't stand the TTW let alone 12 weeks 😅

@KayL1988 yup in due on 27th so will test on 25th (just because it's a Friday and I'm out for dinner so can either celebrate or commiserate!)

Last night we DTD with the fan on... absolutely hilarious, it's an oscillating fan and let's just say it was mildly off putting for DP when it blew air in a certain direction! 🤭 💨
It did give us the giggles which I think we needed. TTC was starting to stress me out a little!

That gives me a little hope @glasspaw as I tested BFN today at 12DPO!

What I’ve found @Peachycream is that if I have tests in the house I want to use them 😂 I’m trying so hard not to use my other FRER

@Dannii892 I think implantation can occur from 6DPO so you might get an early BFP if you do test! I’m not sure I could wait until 23rd lol

@HRP1990 I might test in the morning, see how brave I feel.. its so strange like im dying to know and if to a bfp ill be overjoyed and happy I tested early but if its a bfn I'm taking away the tiny bit of joy of not knowing and I might be you know.. such a mental struggle! X

@HRP1990 sorry about your bfn! Did you have any symptoms? 12dpo is still early! I've read on some threads of woman not getting their bfp until 17-19dpo! X

@Dannii892 I totally get it, 🧙🏻‍♀️ was due for me today that’s why I held out so long to test! Clinging onto that little bit of hope of a BFP 🤞🏻

Symptoms are so weird! It feels like a complete minefield as it seems to vary and often so similar to 🧙‍♀️... I think until she shows her face... there is a chance! 🥰

Hahah @SareBear87 that is hilarious 😂 we also DTD last night with the ceiling fan on ... it was still warm.... so we also had a giggle about it! I'm also due weekend of the 25th my current plan is also to test on the Friday or Saturday AM because there is a meal planned and it would be so obvious that we were trying if I didn't drink .... so if it's a negative I'll probably have one drink just to take some of the heat off! 😅

@Dannii892 I wouldn’t want to count anything as a symptom to be honest unless I got a positive! I’ve never really noted symptoms before AF so I don’t have a lot to compare to if you know what I mean. I had veiny boobs the other day, but I couldn’t tell you if I alway got them before AF 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s strange @Dannii892 well I hope it works out for you lovely and the pains are all a good sign for you.

I think a lot of women say that, the cycle they fell was the one they noticed no difference, but then a lot say they had all the symptoms before so 🤷‍♀️ I’m not really symptom spotting to be honest though, or trying not to anyway. Are you looking out for anything or noticing any? Apart from your pains?

@glasspaw well that gives me some hope! Haha I think at this point I’m better off just leaving it to the gods, I’ve made it this far right? I’m so pleased for you lovely 🥰 did you manage to get any more info from anywhere today?

This is why I’m trying not to buy any @HRP1990 😂😂 I didn’t get any in the end today and I’m not working near any shops that sell them tomorrow so hopefully I can stay away. And this heat is making me too lazy to go on a special trip 😂😂

@HRP1990 I know what you mean.. I think that's why I'm worried to test because what if I always had the symptoms I've had but never noticed before.. weve been trying to conceive for a few months but not actually trying a bit of if it happens than great but no charting at all but this month we used the CB dual ovulation kit so maybe I'm just more aware xx

@Peachycream erm tbh I've not been looking it kind of catches me off guard .. the only thing I've picked up on is I'm boiling hot and exhausted and I've been so grumpy and eating more which my OH said to me today but in my head I'm putting those down to pms .. just I can't remember if I ever get pms lol I'm still about 9 days away till 🧙‍♀️ .. I wouldn't be shocked if I got a bfn and I always got these symptoms but never noticed before xx

@Dannii892 that’s the thing isn’t it! While on birth control you don’t really pay any attention at all, it could all just be now that you’re trying you’re noticing all these things that you never did before. Up until 3 months ago I couldn’t even tell you when I was due on! I would have had a rough guess but that would have been about the size of it. I know that I generally get cramps, sometimes my hips ache and I get sore boobs, but that’s only because it’s painful enough for me to actually notice it 😂 I mean to be fair that’s all I’m really noticing at the moment so who knows 🤷‍♀️

Yes so annoying! I mean my boobs hurt today but I've been at the gym lol any symptoms I have, I have an explanation lol apart from the shocks but I've probably had them before too 😂😂😂 fml!

Yeah that’s what I’m like too, anything I think could be new I can explain away to myself 😂 I can’t help you with the shocks though, you haven’t swallowed a small battery at all? 😂😂😂

Omg so many potential tests the next week or so, good luck @Peachycream @Dannii892 @HRP1990 and anyone else I’ve missed! Sooooo exciting and I just have a feeling there’s going to be a couple more BFPs at least this month in this group!

Nothing to report for me, I’m CD7 but I have long cycles, so not going to start doing OPKs until like CD10 I think as I’ve had long cycles so far and it just seems like a waste. I feel like I live two lives a bit at the minute, my normal day to day life of working and seeing friends, whilst secretly having this whole alternative TTC thing on my mind in the background!

@SkeletonSkins thank you lovely 🥰 we all hope so! Wouldn’t it be really nice if we all got our BFPs within the same sorted time frame so that we can all continue our group right through it all!

I get what you mean, I like to think of myself as a secret agent, mostly because it’s so much cooler than the actual reality 😂

@Dannii892 other than that I got nothing 😂😂 bodies are so weird, doesn’t all of this make you wonder how doctors do it? You explain a load of symptoms and they’re like “ah yes I see I see, you have blah blah blah, I’ll give you some tablets” I’m starting to wonder if maybe they’ve just been taking a punt and hoping for the best all this time 😂 like, I’m in my body and I have less than no idea what it’s doing 99.9% of the time!
