Newbie looking for some support

Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

@SareBear87 I got peak yesterday!! DTD in the morning with the fan on is the way forward.. 😂😅

Ladies were do you buy your FRERs? I was going to get some on Amazon but a lot of the reviews are bad :/ do you get them on there and have no issues? Or am I better off popping to the pharmacy?

DTD with a fan on while it’s melting hot reminds me of being on holiday 😂😂 sadly not quite.

Shorter AF for me than normal and no pain, whereas last month I got really bad cramps. I do feel like the conceive ovulation support might be doing something as it does say it will reduce period pain, plus I came on literally two days after I started taking it, giving me a more normal cycle length than normal (although anovulatory 🙄). Fingers crossed it was the reset my body needs and I get a nice earlier ovulation this month. Having PCOS means I can get a few false starts where my body tries to ovulate but fails.

I've ordered a FRER from Amazon and it was fine... but bought a pack from boots when I was nearby because I'd Also seen some bad reviews!

I know @SkeletonSkins ... not so bad on holiday because you have nothing else to do and usually there is aircon!

Short AF is good... start of a new cycle too!

Honestly, we are in the middle of a huge home renovation at the moment so I've been balancing the tidal wave of shock with the need to get a tonne of DIY done 😂😂 I think I’m glad for the distraction though tbh, it feels like there’s a long way to go before the 12 week semi-safety net! We did get out for our walk in the sunshine though which was lovely.

I know it seems like miles away but from what ive heard and seen on here pregnancy flies by so enjoy it! What will you do tomorrow? Will you sort out a GP appointment?

This is going to sound really naive for a 30 year old woman, but do any of us actually know what to do after we get our BFP? 😂

I don't know @Peachycream ... I've always just assumed you make an appointment with your GP to confirm it and then you get told what to do 😅

Hope everyone else is doing well. My CB monitor says I’m now in high fertility so gearing up for O. My OH has been away for a couple of weeks, due back tomorrow so I am stealing the ice pack igloo idea and will be pouncing on him when he returns. Hopefully he’ll be too horny after 2 weeks away to not care how sweaty and gross this weather is making me!

Btw also loving the 🧙‍♀️ for AF. I will be using that in a couple of weeks!

That’s what I always thought too @KayL1988 funny isn’t it, we’re all putting all of our energy into getting the BFP but not 100% sure what to do once it happens 🤣

@GingerTea333 you’re in this same boat I was in this cycle 🙈 oh was away and didn’t get to DTD until what my apps say was O day! At least you don’t seem to be having a full on freak out about it like I did 😂

Build and igloo and get down and dirty! Maybe don’t sit on this blocks though 🤔 haha!

Yeah it made me laugh when I found it haha I think my 🧙 is imminent, which would be brutal as I’m only 8DPO, had all the cramps, back ache and aching hips all afternoon, but it is what it is 🤷‍♀️

@glasspaw were renovating at the moment too! I’ve put the heat gun on hold whilst we’re TTC, melting paint off wood isn’t the best idea at the moment 😂

@Peachycream I read the Amazon reviews too, I think lots of people were saying the tests were fakes! I bought some in Superdrug this afternoon for tomorrow if 🧙🏻‍♀️ Isn’t here.

Haha DTD with the fan on. Our fan is in the loft from last year! I may have to lay on my dogs cool matt this evening if I can’t cool down

@Peachycream @KayL1988 new kitchen and some hallway decoration. It’ll be great when it’s all done but right now it’s very messy and awful!

I’m 32 and one of my first thoughts was “I have literally no idea what to do next” I know people tend to tell people at 12 weeks but the in between bit is a total mystery.

I’m going to call my GP tomorrow just to find out what the protocol is. Would be nice to get an idea of some of the things that happen in the near term.

Not sure when I’ll tell work. My job is desk based so no adjustments need to be made or anything, but I guess it depends what my symptoms are like. I think if I start needing to take time off I’ll probably let them know at that point but I don’t want to tell people too quickly in case I jinx it!

@Peachycream you never know, these could all be good signs! I always know when 🧙‍♀️ is coming because I literally cannot stop eating. Like on top of the cramps and spots and night sweats and the upset of not being pregnant, I also put back on all the weight I’ve lost the rest of the month just in a few days of carb bingeing!

I’m not freaking out too much about this month but I already know he’s going to be away at the wrong time next month which I am irrationally mad with him about and blaming him 100%.

Yeah that’s what I mean? No one tells you what they had to do before they announce. I’ve seen some people on here book private 6 week scans, which I think I would probably do cause my anxiety just wouldn’t let me wait for 12!

@GingerTea333 to be honest with you, I’m not really worried about this month, I know from our timings it would be a miracle if we made it, I’m not counting myself 100% out because I’m not mentally prepared to do that yet 😂 but at least 95%

Oh no, that’s the trouble isn’t it when they work away and dates/work conflicts, it just makes the whole process that big harder!

6 weeks is only 2 weeks out for me 😱 I hadn’t even considered that I could book a private scan @Peachycream mad that there would be enough baby to see at that point!

Morning Ladies! Apologies I abandoned my phone over the weekend as saw some family and a bbq and a couple of drinks so was a relaxing one :)
I have seen a BFP on this though congrats @glasspaw that's amazing :-)

I haven't decided how I would tell him @HRP1990 not sure if we would do it together or if I would just do a few then wrap them up or leave on the bathroom cabinet and see if he notices 🤣

I am now 2dpo based on my static smiley on Friday (assuming ovulation was Saturday) and DTD Friday sat and Sunday so should have caught ovulation I hope!! AF due latest by 24th according to my apps and based on my funny cycle days so fingers crossed and baby dust.
