Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

Happy Sunday to you too! @Peachycream so glad to hear you're in a good place. @HRP1990 how are you doing, where are you at? X

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 12:39

What happened with your test @ConfusedNewbie21 did you go and get one in the end? X

HRP1990 · 06/06/2021 12:41

I’m glad @Peachycream! I thought you were a little stressed trying to calculate the ovulation times etc! Once you get passed Ov there’s nothing more you can do but wait.

I’m good thank you @ConfusedNewbie21 I’m 4DPO and it’s going really slow lol I’m not expecting any symptoms until at least 6 I don’t think?

How are you, have you done another test?

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 12:45

@HRP1990 I was on the verge of a mental break trying to work it all out and with OH working away it made it even worse 😂 I drove myself insane trying to figure it out and everything you read seems to tell you something different. I have learnt a valuable lesson, don’t google! 😂

Oh we’re pretty close, we’ll be testing around the same sort of time! That’s exciting xx

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 06/06/2021 12:48

@Peachycream 😂 never rely on Dr Google! I think there’s so much info and forums out there, it’s probably different for everyone! Exciting! My app is predicting AF for the15th so I’ll wait as long as I can before I test lol. Will you wait for AF or test earlier?

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 12:54

@HRP1990 I think that’s what the problem is, everything you read is that based on an average, but everyone is different and that’s what making it so effing frustrating!

I’m not really sure to be honest, my app is telling me to test the day before AF, my plan is to just go with it and see what happens. What about you, do you plan to test early?

OP posts:
ConfusedNewbie21 · 06/06/2021 13:07

I couldn't get my hands on a FRER test so had to buy the sainsburys ones which I absolutely hate! Gave me a line within the window but very thin Sad

HRP1990 · 06/06/2021 13:11

It is frustrating @Peachycream! Before I did some proper research I thought I’d ovulate 14 days before AF as that was average. But everyone is different.

I’ve seen people get BFP at 6DPO which is tempting lol but I’m going to hold out as long as possible if I can!

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 13:18

You can get them online @ConfusedNewbie21 it’s like £6 for a box of 2.

@HRP1990 it makes it worse that everyone is different somehow though, or is that just me? I like to have clear answers and there just aren’t any!

😂 it’s so much easier said than done though right? Especially when some people get a result super early!

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 06/06/2021 13:25

They also sell them in Superdrug @ConfusedNewbie21

@Peachycream I often search for the answer I want and won’t give up until I’m satisfied 😂

I know, it’s so tempting! I think even if I tested negative at 6DPO I’d be thinking.. well maybe I implanted late and keep going until AF arrived 😂 I think it’s going to get expensive..

ConfusedNewbie21 · 06/06/2021 13:27

What does AF stand for ?

This is very expensive business! Must have spent so much in the past month on damn testsEnvy

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 13:34

@HRP1990 that’s what I was trying to do and I just ended up in a ball of stress, because once I’ve found something that says what I want it to, I then need to find something else that confirms that 😂 all I found was that not only is every person different every cycle can be different too, I mean come on, wtf is that? 😂😂

Don’t get stuck in that loop! 😂 use the money you’d spend on tests to by an expensive bottle for if AF turns up.

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 13:35

@ConfusedNewbie21 AF is Aunt Flo

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 06/06/2021 13:42

We’re going to be a ball of stress every month. I’d hate anyone to find my search history 😂🥴

I will, I’m going to treat myself to something nice that I can’t have right now if AF shows.. soft cheese, Parma ham.. red wine 🤤

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 13:47

Woah woah woah! Hold the phone! Let’s talk cheese for a minute……..what cheese is off the table here?! I may have to rethink my entire life right now!

OP posts:
ConfusedNewbie21 · 06/06/2021 14:01

No wine and no cheese.... wow that has really added some factors to think about. Should we all call it quits now 😂 you know... for the cheese

ConfusedNewbie21 · 06/06/2021 14:05

May I ask if anyone knows if an evap line can be bright blue (on a blue dye test) or if it has to be colourless to be an evap line?

KayL1988 · 06/06/2021 14:07

@Peachycream the weekend we decided to start trying I looked up what food I needed to avoid and then I'm treating myself to some everytime AF arrives.

Soft Goats cheese, Camembert, Brie...... Gorgonzola..... Roquefort... just my faves 😂

KayL1988 · 06/06/2021 14:11

@ConfusedNewbie21 I think generally people say they are usually greyish (but I've never had one myself)!

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 14:12

@KayL1988 I knew some of them, high Mercury fish, soft eggs, etc but I never even thought of cheese!

I just had a quick google after @HRP1990 said about cheese and the NHS site says as long as you cook it steaming hot Brie, Camembert etc is fine, 😮‍💨 😂😂😂

I think they’re usually grey or colourless @ConfusedNewbie21 but if it’s after the test time frame it’s not a reliable result

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 06/06/2021 14:58

Literally all of the best food.. is off limits 😭
I love a cheese board! Washed down with a glass of red wine - yum.

Even steak apparently unless you cook it well done!?

I may have to rethink this decision 😂

Peachycream · 06/06/2021 16:12

Do we know if cheesecake is off the table at all? Cause if it is I’m going to have to rethink everything 😂

Finally I can post photos!! Please, any opinions of what this could mean are welcome x

However... tests taken since then have been even fainter / blank apart from one today which was bright blue but thin. So confused!! FRER on the way

@Peachycream cheesecake is fine (think it might have to be pasteurised) - so that's good 😂
