Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

Thanks @Aries491! Welcome to the 30s club 👋🏻

That’s so exciting! The thought of ovulation and what is potentially ahead gets me really excited. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

It’s gone cloudy down South aswell, at least it was a scorcher over bank holiday 😍 no vit D tablets needed then 🙌🏻

Aries491 · 03/06/2021 18:09

@HRP1990 thank you! Fingers crossed for you too hopefully a BFP in the pipeline soon!

I know thank god for the sunshine hehe let's hope we get more of that!

GingerTea333 · 04/06/2021 09:30

Happy Friday ladies! Woke up to rain today but apparently the sun is back tomorrow. Aiming for lots of healthy food and exercise this weekend, I am still struggling to get back into a good routine post lockdown!

Ksamson555 · 04/06/2021 09:47

Morning!
It's quite nice here today... not sunny but not cold and rainy thankfully! Have you been working from home through lockdown? I feel lucky being able to go into work as I think it's helped me keep into some sort of routine! I've also started using Gousto lately which has helped me stick to eating better ☺️
Hope you all have some nice plans for the weekend 🥰☀️

Aries491 · 04/06/2021 10:04

Happy Friday Ladies!! Still got the sun up in Lancashire (for now!). Hope everyone has a pleasant Friday and weekend, I'm still WFH which is handy for getting those little jobs done :)

Got some friends staying this weekend so our first indoor meal out tomorrow night, just going to take it easy on the alcohol I reckon, what has everyone else got planned?

KayL1988 · 04/06/2021 10:22

Morning all!! I think weather is warm but not too much sun here!! I've got a brunch and a few proseccos tomorrow, and then a nice lazy Sunday hopefully doing some gardening.

KayL1988 · 04/06/2021 10:27

@Aries491 taking it easy on the alcohol is always easier said than done! I know people get pregnant drinking but I always feel like I worry a bit more after ovulation!

Aries491 · 04/06/2021 10:29

@KayL1988 I'm not due to ovulate until Sunday (making sure we DTD today, sneaky tomorrow if we can haha and deffo Sunday depending on my opk tests) but still wouldn't want to overdo it just incase. Plus I can't abide feeling rough anymore lol!

HRP1990 · 04/06/2021 13:25

It raining buckets here in Brighton. Crazy considering the heatwave we had a few days ago! No proper plans this weekend, trying to stay alcohol free as much as possible 🤞🏻 Perhaps a glass of wine next weekend if I see AF!

Peachycream · 04/06/2021 13:41

Hi ladies

So I’ve done a cheapy as CB has banned me from testing for 2 days with its stupid static 😒 haha and it looks like I haven’t yet peaked, so I could still be in! Woohoo!!!!!!

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 04/06/2021 13:48

@Peachycream For some reason I thought the static meant you were ovulating! I’m sure it stays there for 48 hours until the window is over 🤔

Peachycream · 04/06/2021 13:52

@HRP1990 I also thought that, but on further research it detects the estrogen rise first, which is the flashing and then it goes static when it detects LH, so the surge can continue over those 2 days

OP posts:
Peachycream · 04/06/2021 14:15

To be honest, I am a little confused by it all at the moment, premom is still predicting ovulation for me next Thursday!

But according to Dr Google ovulation is 36 hours (give or take) after the surge begins, which should mean that premom should have adjusted yesterday to show me ovulating today? But it hasn’t, so technically, unless my LH drops over the rest of the day I should expect CB to show a static again when I test tomorrow morning?

Apparently there is also something called gradual onset LH, which gives you positive OPKs over the course of a few days while it slowly rises.

In which case, if ovulation is 36 hours after the surge begins, I’d be ovulating tonight and I’d miss it. But if it’s gradually going up does it still happen roughly 36 hours after the start of it rising or does it happen later and should I expect it Thursday as premom says?

I have all of the questions and zero answers.

OP posts:
Peachycream · 04/06/2021 14:23

Never mind, it’s 36 hours after the surge begins either way, I got excited for nothing, premom is just really really wrong haha!

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 04/06/2021 14:39

It’s all to technical 😂 Thats why I quite like the OPKs as you use them as much as you like and the darker the line to higher the LH. So expect ovulation when it starts to decrease.

I think I might start using a thermometer to track it all as I think your temperature drops when you ovulate?

I adjusted my Premom app, I put in that the ovulation test was positive and it bought my ovulation forward to the next day!

Peachycream · 04/06/2021 14:51

I’m stopping reading now because I’m going back and forth as to whether I’ve missed it or not and it’s hurting my brain.

Some websites are saying that ovulation is roughly 36 hours after the onset of LH rise, others say 24-36 hours after the LH peak, and it’s not like 1 option is more favourable, it’s half and half!

I don’t get the option to say that it’s positive? Mines just reading the stick for me when I take the photo?

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 04/06/2021 15:01

@Peachycream I’d just DTD as and when you can to make sure you’re covered - at least between now and the next 36 hours? I thought it was 12-36 personally 🤷🏻‍♀️

On the Premom App, go onto the homepage and bottom right says “log” scroll down and you can click yes where it says ovulation day.

For me it picked up my peak and then set ovulation as the following day

HRP1990 · 04/06/2021 15:04

I set the ovulation day myself when I thought I was having an early peak, if then readjusted after I got a higher peak the following week

Peachycream · 04/06/2021 15:18

Oh yeah I see! I don’t wanna touch it though incase I end up knocking it all out. Apparently if LH is gradual onset (which according to a study is 51% of women) OPKs will give you positive results for 2-6 days while it rises. Rapid onset will just peak on 1 day and then drop back to baseline the next day. And as mine are still getting darker I don’t wanna cock it all up 🤣

It’s between 10 and 48 hours so I just went with 36 as a medium, then the egg lives for 12-24 hours and then it’s all over.

I am curious to see what my CB does tomorrow though if my LH is still rising, surely I’d get another static?

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 04/06/2021 15:29

That’s too much info for me for a Friday afternoon 😂

I’d keep using your CB and test again after the 48 hours of static is up and see what it says. This is only your first month so it’ll be interesting to see how your body works. If your OPKs are still rising then I assume you’d see another static yeah!

Peachycream · 04/06/2021 15:37

That’s why I stopped reading too 🤣

Yeah that’s what I would think? We shall see, I’m curious to see what’s going on now haha!

It’s no wonder people give up trying after a certain amount of time cause it just seems impossible to read, at least it is for me 😂

OP posts:
Peachycream · 04/06/2021 15:45

So my curiosity got the better of me so I downed a drink and then went to test, the OPK was much lighter, as I expected cause I’ve diluted my urine and then it’s registered my last test which was 2 hours ago as my peak and moved my O day to tomorrow and brought my period due date so it is moving it around on its own, I guess it just needs to find a peak first

This has become an experiment on its own 🤣

Hi everyone

Jumping in on this conversation as I’ve found ti super comforting reading about everyone’s experiences. I am CD20, have been tracking my cycle for about 2 years now (but this is the first month TTC, I only really started doing it in case it was useful in the future haha!) and am pretty regular with 27-29 days each time.

Finding the TWW unbearable, but I’ve learned so much about fertility and conception from reading about it this month! I can’t believe I never realised that at 1-2 weeks pregnant you hadn’t even tried for a baby yet! Or that there are so few days a month where it is actually possible to conceive. Starting to really resent my secondary school biology lessons for teaching me more about photosynthesis than my own body to be honest.

Peachycream · 04/06/2021 16:55

@glasspaw welcome!

The sex education thing seems to be a really common theme that we have all said? It seems a bit archaic now you think back on it right?

How far into the TWW are you?

Hi all.. I am looking for opinions on this test. I am very unsure wether it is a faint positive or I am going crazy.

Also... very nervous to be posting on here. Hi! Blush
