Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

@CTMcG is it not any different for you seeing as you have pcos and irregular cycles? I might be worth an ask, even if you say you haven’t been actively trying for the last 6 months but you have been off the pill and you’re cycles are quite irregular? Worst case is that they tell you what you already know right?

To be honest, I don’t, I think all the vitamins aimed at pregnant women is profiteering off of vulnerability, surely it is just as important to get the right amount of vitamins at any stage in your life, not just while pregnant or trying for a baby. So much is aimed at women at what is already a scary and high pressure and expensive time in their lives, without adding the worry and additional expense of a multivitamin which most of, with a healthy diet you can get for no extra cost than your weekly shop! But, I could be wrong, I’ve done less than no research into them just because I don’t believe in them in my normal life let a lot any other time haha! That may change as time goes on.

@Peachycream no i totally get that! They are ridiculously priced them ones, ive only 7 days left of them and i dont think il repurchase. Just going to take the folic acid tablets which are next to nothing and start eating more fruit and veggies!

Peachycream · 02/06/2021 21:29

@CTMcG I just think of all the women who are getting pregnant by accident, it seems to happen for them super easily and they surely aren’t taking pregnancy/conception vitamins every day off their life on the off chance, ya know?
The only one I was advised by the nurse when I spoke about it was Folic acid xxx

@Peachycream thats true!! All this research into ttc, it baffles me people get pregnant by accident! It blows my mind! Lol

Peachycream · 02/06/2021 21:37

@CTMcG I know right?! How is it just happening for these people “oh I missed one pill” wtf?! How?! How did you miss one pill at exactly the right time by complete accident?! I no longer believe 1 single bar of it 🤣

I gotta go for the night cause I gotta be up super early but I’ll be back tomorrow 🥰 xxx

@Peachycream 😂😂 same! Away to bed myself!! Night! Xx

KayL1988 · 02/06/2021 21:42

Yeah I bought pregnacare conception ones but I'll be just moving to folic acid and my vitamin d drops soon. It's probably a gimmick but then again in summer I don't think I probably get enough folic acid.

SareBear87 · 02/06/2021 23:04

I've just ordered some preconception/pregnancy vitamins. I'm on cycle 7 so figured they can't hurt. Let's hope they don't mess with my cycle.

When I went to see the nurse for my smear I asked her about pregnancy vitamins and she said it's all about folic acid. I eat a lot of leafy greens and broccoli so I was going with the theory I get enough naturally but now I'm doubting myself!

Ailie12 · 03/06/2021 04:03

@Peachycream How does your LH test look like? The app will adjust its predictions once you find your LH peak.

Peachycream · 03/06/2021 06:51

I got my static today ladies, I’m out. On the plus side, no TWW haha!

Peachycream · 03/06/2021 07:02

@SareBear87 7 cycles isn’t that long lovely, a year is perfectly normal, so don’t stress yet. If you want to take the vitamin then that’s absolutely fine, but if you’re taking it because you think you’re doing something wrong, then know that you aren’t and keep going strong!

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 07:45

I think it’s always better to get what you need from food, but no harm in taking the vitamins if you don’t think you’re getting enough

I know what you mean @Peachycream about profiting off women’s vulnerability. So many get pregnant by accident and wouldn’t be taking the right vitamins/eating the right food.

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 07:45

I’ve officially joined the TWW. Be kind to me 🤞🏻

Peachycream · 03/06/2021 07:50

@HRP1990 ooooooh exciting! Will you be our first BFP? 🤞

KayL1988 · 03/06/2021 08:05

Eeekkkk exciting @HRP1990 - we are here for you!! 🥰

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 08:12

Thanks girls! @Peachycream @KayL1988 my luteal phase is 11 days so I shouldn’t have too long to wait for potential AF!

Kay you must have almost finished AF now? Peachy you’re missing this one out and tracking instead to get an idea?

Peachycream · 03/06/2021 08:26

It would appear that way @HRP1990 but not on purpose 🤣. It’ll happen when it’s supposed to and I guess now just wasn’t the right time

OP posts:
Ksamson555 · 03/06/2021 10:17

@HRP1990 this is exciting! I have all my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼🥰

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 10:21

Thank you @Ksamson555 🥰

SareBear87 · 03/06/2021 10:28

@Peachycream you are 100% right, and my rational brain agrees but my emotional side just panics!

@HRP1990 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 exciting!! You potentially will get a result the day I'm due to ovulate! Positive vibes!

I've decided that women who announce they fell pregnant by missing one pill or had sex once are the equivalent of lads who claim they have a large one and go for hours.... 😂

KayL1988 · 03/06/2021 10:59

@SareBear87 that made me chuckle 😂😂 Also our cycles seem quite synced so I'll also likely be ovulating around the time HRP can test!

Also my clear blue monitors arrived and set up. It says it'll ask me to start ovulation testing on day 6.... I definitely need a machine that doesn't let me test anything until the right time. 😂 so keen!

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 11:21

Haha that made me laugh @SareBear87!

That’s exciting. Fingers crossed for a BFP and some static smileys! @KayL1988

I get carried away with OPK’s I’m so glad they’re relatively cheap 😂

GingerTea333 · 03/06/2021 11:34

So exciting to read everyone’s updates!

@KayL1988 the first month I used my monitor it said my high started super early and then I was waiting about 10 days for it to turn to peak, but I think that’s because it was getting used to my body and it’s been much better since then. So if it gives you a weird cycle this month don’t worry too much

KayL1988 · 03/06/2021 11:41

Thanks for a heads up @GingerTea333 !!!

I would be thinking my husband had rigged so it shows peak and he gets to DTD everyday 😂

Aries491 · 03/06/2021 13:20

Exciting to see everyone's updates! Good luck with the TWW @HRP1990
I'm a 90s baby too, April 91 so just joined the 30s club this year! :-)
I'm currently CD12 so ovulation due on Sunday! Been DTD most days anyway but trying to take a more relaxed approach until I get that static smiley of course haha! :))) I take some pregnancy and conception vitamins so like a big multivit which includes the important folic acid but agreed with you all - these accidents that happen mustn't be on the vitamins etc!!

Wishing everyone a happy Thursday! Sunshine has disappeared up north now :(
