Oh, how lovely sweetkitty Yey for you and your peanut

Can anyone tell me if they know of a way to monitor your temps, online.
I have a new laptop and I thought it came all singing and dancing but it turns out it has no word facilities at all so no excel package to take the downloadables.
And I have just got my lovely new thermometer so want to get started
Just gonna go pop this on the 2ww thread too, just incase.
Can't beleive I am CD11 already!!

fairysnuff · 29/11/2007 23:50

I am going to have to move myself up the list and take days off my cycle.
I have found somewhere online to chart my temps and it has made me realise that I was counting from the spotting, that I am sure was implantation, but that TEW really didn't turn up until later.
So, instead of being on day 11 I am actually only day 8

So here is the list, I have updated it for tommorrow cos I am figuring no-one else, in their right mind, will be up this late!!

The list for friday 30th (fingers crossed, no mistakes)

frogmarsh · 29/11/2007 23:52

Hi Fairysnuff, try www.fertilityfriend.com I used it when i was charting and it was really good. I actually found charting very helpful, it is fascinating to know what is happening to your body through the cycle. It made me feel really positive.

fairysnuff · 30/11/2007 00:06

Cheers frog That's the one I found, I am so excited to fill it in tommorrow and start to see my own graph emerge!
How sad am I?
BTW if I norm have to get up for DD first thing (dummy retrieval mission) then go back to bed for a couple of hours, can I take my temp on my second wakening ( I am up like a shot to fufill my mission, not sure I can fit it a temperature pitstop) or will it make any real difference either way?

frogmarsh · 30/11/2007 00:41

I know what you mean about being excited wait till you see the temperature drop when you ovulate, it feels like a real achievement! A sort of 'wow, my body works' moment!

I think it does make quite a big difference when you take your temp, they recommend at least 3 hours sleep before taking it - it only takes a about 30 seconds to take the temp just memorise or write it down and add it to your chart later. Failing that just make sure that you are consistent eg, always exact same time and before you have moved from bed. i used to set my alarm and have the thermometer and a pen within reach of the bed.

Btw i managed to get my bfp in the first month of charting (6th month of trying generally). I lurked a lot on this thread and the previous but was never quite brave enough to go on the list so i feel i sort of know you all!

sorry waffling on a bit, i should go to bed

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2007 01:36

WOW FertilyFriends is totally cool. I set up an account too. Don't know if I'll be good with temping BUT it lets you track symptoms which I currently do in a plain old spread sheet. This site makes it all nice.

sweetkitty · 30/11/2007 05:24

I could never do temping up too much in the night and too lazy, I used opks and EWCM. I really thought we had missed the boat last month, EWCM from the Tuesday, last BD Wednesday (14yo neice staying over) positive on the opks Thursday, I reckon there were some hanging around and we are having another girl.

teehee - I saw it wriggling, arm buds and best of all a little beating heart, the picture looks like a blob though, in DD1's 9 week scan you can make out a face though.

Good luck with the temping ladies and bring on the Christmas BFPs, aren't more babies born in August/September thatn any other month, too much Xmas booze?

07mumstheword · 30/11/2007 08:33

Mean't to say I got on my OPK this morning, CD9! I'm very grateful for a short cycle but at this rate they will become non-existant! Anyway We BD'd last night and intend to do so over the weekend so hopefully this will be out month.

I don't think I can handle RL friends with pregnancy news anymore (I love to hear BFP's on here though). I was out for a meal with the friends I met from ante-natel classes (from DD) last night. There were 5 of us and one I know is PG but one of the others announced that she is 6 wks PG. I wanted to sit there and cry, how pythetic (sp?) she has only been trying for a couple of months and fallen very quickly. I feel ashamed of my emotions although of course I didn't let them show. I was all at the same time but on the outside I smiled and said congratulations. I'm pleased for her but feel so God damn

Still, it's action time in my month so if we put in the work (is it work or enjoyment??) then hopefully we will reep the rewards for Christmas? I keep telling myself it will happen and the more upset I get the less likely it is to happen.

Sorry for rant I think it effected me more than I realised.

Shazza2002 · 30/11/2007 08:51

Hi MTW

Good news about your , get BDing girl. Still plenty of time for your BFP before christmas, you and DG were my cycle buddies and would love you to be again.

I am so glad you have said how you felt about finding out friend was PG, not glad that you were upset of course. I felt exactly the same way 2 weeks ago when my BF called to tell me she was 7 weeks PG. I was happy but so upset at the same time. PG women didn't use to bother me, it was more the announcements of PG if that makes sense. Also, hearing about BFP of MN is completely different, is so pleasing to log in and see all the BFP's. It's odd isn't it.

It's Friday, hope you're all gonna save some energy from christmas shopping to get down to some serious BDing this weekend

07mumstheword · 30/11/2007 09:09

Thanks Shazza that's exactly what I felt. I love MN BFP's but find RL PG announcements a

Hope you're feeling well but a little bit morning sick

Shazza2002 · 30/11/2007 09:13

No sickness. Had a bit before I found out, but nothing since. Thinking that's a good thing, so was convinced I wasn't actually PG. So did 2 more tests to make sure

Sorry pistachio, maybe I won't touch the screen next time

sweetkitty Fantastic news about your little bean, glad to know it's thriving. I too am convinced about it being another girl, I just know there were some swimmers up there hanging around

fairysnuff · 30/11/2007 09:55

Oh Yeah! dito from me too. Love the MN BFPs, dead of the RL ones
That is why MN is so great, all of a sudden you are not are horribly selfish person for being at someone elses good news, cos you find it is pretty normal to react like that (inwardly) but to smile so sweetly to the person giving the news.

Think I have messed up my temp taking already then. I was up at 7 with DD then woke at 9.30 and hopped out of bed to get her morning milk. Took my temp whilst I was at it.
I was meant to stay in bed for it wasn't I? oops

MissusH · 30/11/2007 10:36

Hi everyone - it's only bloomin' Friday (yay!!)

Glad to hear that your pumpkin is fine sk - it's such a relief isn't it?

Sorry to see that TEW just won't sod off for those at the top of the list

Well I have been diligently peeing on cheapie ebay opk stick since cd9 (as per instructions) and am now on cd15 with not even a glimmer of a line [grrr emoticon]. My cycles have varied between 28 and 32 days so there is still time for a positive (I hope...). Are the cheapie tests any good or would I be better off forking out a bit of cash?

Still getting plenty of bd'ing in anyway just to cover all bases . Myself and dh are out with friends tonight so dd is staying at grandmas. Not only do we get a lie-in tomorrow (no 6am wake up call, fan-bloody-tastic!!) but she is being dropped off at tea time so we can have a leisurely afternoon in bed as well!!!

(I adore dd, honestly, but a bit of couple time now and then is fab)

Shazza2002 · 30/11/2007 10:48

missush

I was using my CBFM but had already ordered the ebay cheapies (in for a penny in for a pound). On CD18 I got my first peak on CBFM, that evening I peed on ebay opk aswell just to compare results. I got the control line AND the other line but it was quite a bit fainter than the control line. Same thing the next day, peak on CD19 on CBFM and faint line on ebay opk. On all the instructions it says the 2nd line should be the same or darker as control line. But I would say if you get any 2nd line go for it.

HTH.

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 30/11/2007 10:49

Hi there
Good luck with th BD MissusH and enjoy your weekend!
I'm a bit depressed today as dp got some not so good semen analysis results. I've got suspected pcos, so now feeling really quite glum.
will keep on with the cm watching etc, but feeling like its never going to happen today.

digitalgirl · 30/11/2007 10:56

sorry your back at the top pistachio big glass of wine for you this morning.
had some spotting last night so i may well be joining you shortly. obviously am hoping it's implantation, temps still high, but that could be the central heating . I had spotting last cycle (for the first time, I don't usually) 5 days before AF for 3 days, then 2 days of nothing (boy did I get my hopes up), then a BFN followed by AF. This ttc business is complicated!

lovely to hear about your scan sk can't believe you're 8 weeks already!

oh and a HUGE ditto re: for RL PG announcements but for MN BFPs, and yes for RL births. Don't mind the births or even catching up with PG friends, its the actual announcements that floor me everytime.

MissusH · 30/11/2007 10:57

Thanks shazza - still plenty of time then!

owl - sorry to hear your news.. Has the dr given you any info on what to do next?

digitalgirl · 30/11/2007 11:05

xposted owl sorry the news wasn't so good, there are things you can do to boost sperm quality. lots of zinc (brazil nuts) and other vitamins. have also heard that a shot of espresso makes them quicker! but he should probably give up alcohol and smoking if those are things he does.

as for you, PCOS can also be managed. SFXmum got her BFP for her second child and she has PCOS. She recommends lots of exercise and a low GI diet. Also, acupuncture and/or reflexology can balance the hormones.

i hope this helps in some way. but i totally understand if you just want to vent and feel sorry for yourself and not have suggestions thrown at you.

sfxmum · 30/11/2007 11:15

hi all it seems I will be joining you in the new year as I just found out I miscarried. bit sad but not my first.
will take a rest recover and get back to it soon. hope you will all be graduates by then

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 30/11/2007 11:16

Thanks DG - trying acupuncture already, also trying to lose a bit of weight, although not particularly big so not sure thats the issue.
we are going to be speaking with the consultant in the next fews days to decide what to do next. The sperm test results were pretty boderline, so fingers still crossed for this cycle...

mibbes · 30/11/2007 11:24

Morning Ladies, may I join ? I have been lurking for a while now trying to get up to speed with this ttc business. Dp only agreed last week that we should stop using contraception so am very much a newbie to this. However I suspect we will not be bding like bunnies initially as don't want to scare dp with openly Obsessive behaviour..yet. Although hopefully I can be openly obsessive in here . Am on cd 23 ttc #1. Cycles are between 31-36 days (have never settled down properly since I came off the pill 3 years ago - it didn't agree with me). Had 1 unprotected bd on cd 16 but have no idea when ovulating so highly unklikely to have any luck this month. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions so please be patient with me . In fact first one is:
Had some CM on day 15 (not neccessarily EWCM) then nothing atall since - not usual for me as noticed some EWCM last month. Am concerned this could mean am not ovulating each month - any similar experiences/advice ?
