welcome everyone, c'mon over i've got lots of cakes!!!!xxxx

sweetkitty · 18/11/2007 22:20

teehee - I don't know I just remember the details, but it goes to show that one BD is all it takes

Chemical pregnancy is where you get a BFP but then get AF, I believe the the little beans implants but then you lose it a few days later. In my case I got a v faint BFP, then a BFN about 5 days later then AF turned up 7 days late which has never happened before or since.

sweetkitty · 18/11/2007 22:21

The months I have had more sex I haven't had a BFP DP reckons it's quality over quantity

teeheelaydee · 18/11/2007 22:26

I'm not sure about reflexology - not keen on having my feet messed with. Let me know how it is though.

Know what you mean about time on own. I think DP and family and friends have been trying to keep me busy which is very sweet but had to explain to them this week that a bit of time on my own would really help and it didn't mean I was going to delve into the depths of depression. Sometimes its is lovely to be in your own head.
Unfortunately back to work tomorrow where I don't get left alone for more than 2 minutes. Back to real life I guess.

teeheelaydee · 18/11/2007 22:34

Thanks -That is what I had in June. AF was about 5 days late and got 2 BFP (I never believe the 1st one) and then the next day AF arrived and got a BFN. Doctor never explained the implantation thing though.

It makes me smile how proud and manly DP's get when a BFP arrives. "That's m'boys" and all that. Bless. (obviously forgetting that us ladies also play a part in the process)

Seems less is more works for you. Also I have heard that if you have been away or are going away from each other it is more likely. Something to do with men wanting to make their mark (although how does the sperm know it's been away !?) Probably just an old wives tale.

sweetkitty · 18/11/2007 22:40

See I thought the bean had to implant to start producing the HCG to give the BFP but maybe they produce it before they implant, a lot of fertilised eggs don't manage to implant either so get washed away by AF, also if you have a short luteal phase AF can happen before the egg has had a chance to implant IYSWIM thats why they say you need a luteal phase of about 10 days or more.

It's a mad old business this ttc malarky, so strange one month you can BD laods BFN, another month BD the sanme BFP. No wonder it drives us insane.

DP said today "don't hold my hand you might get pregnant again as I have super sperm

ClairePO · 18/11/2007 22:42

hope tomorrow is OK teehee does anyone at work know?

I agree time on your own is so necessary, after our mc DP was welded to me and so caring its beyond description, he's completely fantastic, but those moments I had on my own just to think and come to terms with things were invaluable. And I'm sure its the same for our DH's/DP's after all its their loss too. I'll never forget/get over the guilt of how my DP's face crumpled when they let him in (we were in Germany and they didn't want hm in for the scan, here in the UK afterwards they let us be together for all scans/consultations) and he realised the baby had left us.

ClairePO · 18/11/2007 22:46

It is a mad old business - the month we got pregnant we only did it once - we weren't trying we just weren't not trying IYSWIM and we did it once mid cycleish and that was it.

This month I don'yt know what we id wrong we had loads of bd'ing at the fertile time. Bizarre. I'm sure it is easier if you aren't trying & hence stressed by that.

teeheelaydee · 18/11/2007 23:05

Claire - I think you're right about being stressed. The month I got BFP I had stopped peeing on ovulation sticks as found it all too stressful and we just guestimated ov time and bingo. It's a bit of a lottery really.

Didn't make myself very clear in last post. Have been back at work for 2 weeks, after nearly 2 weeks off. Have found it really hard. People knew but many of them are very young and I am the boss in the office. They have treated me as if nothing happened. I know none of it is intentional and my boss has been great. I think the response I have got made me realise I had to look after myself. Hence my weekend of indulging myself. Starting to feel much stronger since about Tues though so hope that continues.

I am also working next weekend so know how you feel. Only Sat am though and have booked massage for sat afternoon as soon as work finished.

SK- at super sperm. He is obviously very proud !

Emmsy1 · 19/11/2007 09:02

Hello girls,
hope everyone is feeling ok this morning!
My DH was off work for 3 days last week, he had diarrhoea and vomiting (please excuse the spellinghe hasn't had a day off for a few years, so knew he had come home with a nasty bug! All of my DC now have the bug,so lots of vomit and runs going on around here at the moment. I am the only one who has not been affected(touch wood) although I did have vertigo on Friday & Saturday which made me feel quite sick..
Last night I felt as though I had wet my self,so I went to the loo and I found the biggest lump of clear eggwhite cm that I have ever seen!! anyway I did an ovulation test but there was no sign of an LH surge??
I know illness can affect your CM but can it make it look like EW?? I will do another OPT this afternoon (we haven't done any BD ing since before AF showed up)
Lissie would just like to say congratulations on your BFP!!
Sorry to all the girls who got a bfn especially cricri and excitable!

MissusH · 19/11/2007 11:03

Morning everyone - just did the big post-weekend catch-up....

AF is leaving the Missus household so bd'ing will re-commence over the next few days (hurrah )

I am using opks this month and will remember to start testing on cd9.... and I will try harder this month with cm spotting etc... and dh will contribute a lot more than the occasional quickie!!

bring it on!!

digitalgirl · 19/11/2007 11:12

Emmsy you can get EWCM up to 5 days before ov, but LH tends to happen day before ov. However while you've got EWCM you are fertile, as sperm can survive in it so get bd'ing tonight!

MrsH glad AF has left you in good time. MrH is in for a good time

It seems I spoke too soon. After lots of excited boiling of my mooncup, I've had no AF at all. She is teasing me and it is not fair!

Sorry for self-indulgent post but writing this at work so that I don't forget my CD number, or it will all go horribly wrong!

Hope to catch up later today. Love to all of you!

musicgirl · 19/11/2007 12:20

Can someone please update me on the list.AF came yesterday so currently on CD2.

Missed BD at the peak time for 2 days due to family staying with us but was hoping girl sperm from 3 days prior might have hung around. Didn't have much EWCM though so that probably didn't help. Will drink plenty of grapefruit juice this month.

07mumstheword · 19/11/2007 13:38

Ooh Excitable What is going on? I hope all is revealed either way for you over the next couple of days.

digitalgirl · 19/11/2007 14:40

There you go musicgirl. Sorry AF arrived, hope you've got a nice glass of wine to keep you company throughout.

Excitable how exciting, are you going to test?

Not going to test - got a bfp on Saturday so I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant.

I'm sure my body is laughing at me. It has an evil sense of humour. STILL no blinking period. Even DH is asking if it arrived yet when I come home from work. Oh, this is miserable...

07mumstheword · 19/11/2007 15:15

Excitable you are confusing me, should I get excited or did you mean BFN on Saturday?

Hrrmmmmmmph....

My period started (late) last Tuesday and shows no sign of stopping! I never really get my period for more than about 6 days but usually by day 5 it starts to slacken off a bit. Woke up this morning to a total sanitary failure (TMI!)... I want to start tryig again, and apart from that I wish I weren't so ratty about evereything. Periods have never really worried me or bothered me until now. I just want to start trying to make a baby again

musicgirl · 19/11/2007 17:40

Thanks DG for updating me on the list

By the way, do you know if those his & her fertility tests in Boots are any good (can't remember the brand)? I want to know if my bf's swimmers are ok and this seemed to be the only test for sperm.

It's early days for me yet as I'm only on cycle 2 but I think if we were taking a while to get pregnant I'd have a hard time getting my bf into a fertility clinic (as he is a big wuss).

Excitable · 19/11/2007 19:06

No AF here either.

Starlight I'll join your chanting and I'll raise you an "It's all gone quiet over there"

Sorry for confusing everyone on two threads by getting BFPs and BFNs getting mixed up. I've had three BFNs this month, so I'm fairly sure that I'm not pregnant, but would like my body to stop ARSING about.

So there.

teeheelaydee · 19/11/2007 19:13

Excitable, you took the words right out of my mouth. Chanting with you. Can't believe I am actually looking forward to AF (well, kind of)
Finally counted on the calender and think I am CD25 - so could have a while to go.
Just want to get back to some kind of normality - well when I say normality I mean of course, obsessing about ov pain, EWCM, peeing on sticks and all the other crazy stuff that TTC entails.

AF Where are You ???

Starlight and Excitable maybe they don't ike the cold and they have gone on vacation! Or perhaps our bodies are secretly harbouring BFP's [coolkat going insane]

Like you doing tests that have all been BFN's I just wish she'd come so that we can start next month.

Not posted on here for a while, I hope everyone is ok?
