Thank you @RobinRose & @Marvellouslymadmum I hope FSH is better next time. I think this AMH kit I ordered is like my diabetic fingerprick style! It was just a cheap 1 but thought it would give me an idea and when we do go down the road of private testing to gauge where we're at there won't be any more surprises! Have to say, I always feel better after I come in here and chat things through so thank you! Will do it sooner next time!

kerrym87 · 27/03/2021 06:19

@MIW01 I'm so sorry abut that but my NHS fertility clinic has done my AMH and AFC, its awful its a lottery. Can you ask for second opinion at another hospital? X

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/03/2021 08:49

@MIW01 so glad you're feeling a bit more positive about it, let us know how you get on with the test? Ov thought about ordering some online ones too

thislittlebird · 27/03/2021 09:00

Here I am trying to catch up and @notyetamumbuttrying shows me a steak dinner at 8.59am....I can’t make that for breakfast 😂

MiniBaker · 27/03/2021 09:17

Just a quick question about evening primrose oil - when do you start taking it? I know a couple of you mentioned about stopping after ovulating but when do you start? Is it okay to start during period? Or is it best to wait? Thanks 🙏 x

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/03/2021 09:18

@Juno231 thanks! Hopefully this is the last cycle before treatment starts if the nhs can react that quickly, will find out week after next now! ♥️
@MIW01 I'm so sorry to hear this! I would complain to PALS when you have the energy to as that is not on at all! Yeah I'm ok thanks, cd2 now so just waiting for the hell to end and then it'll be FW and appointment time 😬 oh and on the amh front my area only test once you're referred to fertility, so it's not done with the GP alongside the day 3 and day 21s. My amh was odd though, much lower than my afc. I can't remember my fsh number, will have to dig it out.
@Theawkwardblonde ahh sorry to hear you're going through shit, let us know if we can help in any way. When do you think your X-ray will be?

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/03/2021 09:19

@thislittlebird haha 😛 you should try! Chuck some eggs on to make it feel breakfasty 😏
@MiniBaker start cd1 until you ov 😊

@notyetamumbuttrying Thank you - that is today for me at laaaast - spotting since Tuesday and finally came on period today 🎉
so I will pop out and get some this morning.

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/03/2021 09:27

@MiniBaker I started on cd1 and stop on ovulation day

I have a seed cycling question? The sesame and flax seeds are fairly small, so those I'll get on ok with, apart from picking them out my teeth! The sesame seeds I bought ground ones so they go in the porridge no problem, however the pumpkin seeds are massive! I'm scared to try and eat them 😂 how do you guys eat them??

MiniBaker · 27/03/2021 09:34

Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum I’m going to start today ✅

I sometimes have pumpkin seeds in my museli they just crunch up - unless yours have the shells on them?

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/03/2021 09:39

@MiniBaker ooh I don't know, they're kind of green looking I'll read the pack!

MiniBaker · 27/03/2021 09:41

As I mentioned before I’m booked in for a ‘pelvic ultrasound scan’ and an ‘antral follicle count scan’ in addition to my AMH blood test.. I’ve just booked privately and kind clicked the first things I can see to get started on the process but I’m not really sure what sort of things these tests find out.

Essentially, what I want to know is what could they find out is wrong with me from these tests? 😂 Does anyone know? xx

MiniBaker · 27/03/2021 09:43

@Marvellouslymadmum They won’t have the shells on if they’re green so they should be find to crunch on in a cereal/ porridge/ muesli - they’re not that hard xx

2020mission · 27/03/2021 09:46

@Marvellouslymadmum I eat the pumpkin seeds whole sprinkled on breakfast and haven't found it a problem chewing them. I don't ground any of the seeds though 😅 although I have a wee grinder now so I'm going to try to the seeds ground this cycle.

thislittlebird · 27/03/2021 09:47

I usually blend them all into a smoothie @Marvellouslymadmum

(I say this as someone who stopped doing seed cycling in the same week I started because I was worried I was reacting to the sesame, but stil, smoothie seemed to work)

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/03/2021 09:48

@MiniBaker brilliant thank you! I usually have granola or porridge and have just started the seed process lol

Afc is antral follicle count which tells you how many follicles you have, amh tests your egg reserve so they together tell you if you're on the right track age wise etc the pelvic one I'm not sure about but I'll add this article that gives you some info. I've got no fewer than 47 pages open on google on my phone all to do with ttc 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ I may need help!

progyny.com/education/fertility-testing/ovarian-reserve-fsh-amh-afc/

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/03/2021 09:49

@2020mission thank you! I just saw the sunflower ones were available whole or ground so thought I'd try the mashed up ones!

@thislittlebird I may try a smoothie if I don't like them on my breakfast!

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/03/2021 10:04

@MiniBaker I might start taking mine again today too! Those tests will count your follicles and tell you your ovarian reserves so basically how long you have left before your eggs diminish! You'll need to know the averages for your age range so have a google before you go. Hopefully you don't get messed up results like mine as both should match, mine differed by a lot! I'm asking to get my Amh redone when I next get seen.
@Marvellouslymadmum I just checked my fsh and it was 6.7 and @MIW01 my area go up to 13!! So defo seek a second opinion. Here's my snip of results with the figures on. You do fsh during the follicular phase.

I will catch up on the thread a bit later and reply but just wanted to say we got the call and 10 out of 12 eggs were mature and 8 have fertilised! Really happy with that as I was so scared none would fertilise. Fingers crossed they continue to grow nicely!

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/03/2021 10:05

@Marvellouslymadmum 6.3 I meant. Much better than my amh which was 5.4! I'm only just 35 😬

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 27/03/2021 10:05

@Narwhal88 yay 😃 so pleased for you!! 👏🏾

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 27/03/2021 10:08

@Marvellouslymadmum just reading that article now and realising that a high fsh isn't good! So confusing with some results meaning high is good and low is bad and visa versa! Confused

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 27/03/2021 10:22

@notyetamumbuttrying that's bang in the middle then! Mine was too but done in the luteal so 4.7 it's very confusing isn't it? But I think in the middle must be a good thing lol

@Narwhal88 wow that's amazing news! Keeping everything crossed for you, when will you know how they're doing?

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/03/2021 10:25

@Marvellouslymadmum here's hoping!! It's my amh that's nuts! 5.4 when my afc was 12 🤔 they should align more, but anyway, I've banged on about that enough 😂 will just wait to see if the nhs will redo and see what that says.

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 27/03/2021 10:33

@notyetamumbuttrying it would make more sense your amh being toward the afc too with a good fsh, I would think your fsh would be higher if your amh was low - that whole sentence would seem like complete gobbledegook to anyone not in the know, get me sounding like a doctor - I must've passed my google phd! 😂😂
