@RobinRose maybe a head scarf then? Lol I'm sure you can make it sexy 😂 🧣 - got it, get a scarf and make him blindfold you (gently, don't want to squish the ear) perfect roll play!

@Annny27 omg 😂 I was wondering what a scalpel syringe 💉 was! It's sounded painful 🤦🏼‍♀️

@notyetamumbuttrying ooh that sounds like a good evening! We should be getting a takeaway Sunday for my birthday, but no idea where from as we will have all four teenagers here and that gets very expensive!

2020mission · 26/03/2021 10:39

I just called my GP surgery to get my day 21 blood results but the receptionist just said "oh I can see they are normal". I expected the doctor would tell me and give my the actual progesterone/thyroid levels. Did anyone else get actual numbers from the GP? She said there was a note on my record that I've been referred to gynaecology so at least that should be coming soon.

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/03/2021 10:57

@2020mission ask for the print out. I had to go down and get it each time as the receptionists won't read them out to you in case you ask what they mean and they're not trained to answer. I was told normal as well, which they were but it was good to see the numbers for myself.
@Marvellouslymadmum ooh that does sound expensive!! Remind me of your set up again? Are all 4 teenagers yours? Lots of march babies on here 😍

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 26/03/2021 11:03

@2020mission I spoke to my gp for my results and she still just said everything was 'normal' I had to email the surgery for a copy of the results to get all the actual numbers! We must be at similar stages though as that was only two weeks ago and I'm being referred too, just waiting on my letter!

@notyetamumbuttrying it's painfully expensive doing anything with them all! My partner has two from previous relationship 13 & 14 yo boys and I have two from my previous relationship 14yo girl (15 next month) and 16yo boy and they're all so big and hungry all the time, they eat way more than I do! Saying that they're all a lot bigger than me - I'm only 5' tall and 13yo is 5'3 14 boy 5'7 my almost 15yo daughter is 5'11 and 16yo 5'10 (they don't take after me 😂)

Narwhal88 · 26/03/2021 11:35

Thanks for the well wishes all! The nurses were all lovely today but egg collection was more painful than I imagined! I had light sedation but I didn't feel sedated at all and felt everything and remember everything! I could handle it and would go through it again but I expected to feel more knocked out!

Crazydoglady123 · 26/03/2021 11:37

Omg @Narwhal88 that is literally my worry! I'd rather be unconscious for it 😬 How many did they collect?

Narwhal88 · 26/03/2021 11:47

Argh I posted too early and it missed the other half of my message!
So I think I maybe need a higher dose of the drugs. Most people say they don't remember anything. Weird as it's not like I take a lot of painkillers so I wouldn't have thought I would have a high tolerance! At least it wasn't too long, I think it only took about 15-20 mins to do.
We got 12 eggs, have to wait till tomorrow to see how many were mature and fertilise.

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry you are feeling shit, have lots of chocolate and wine and enjoy your hawksmoor delivery - let me know what it's like as I've wanted to try it!

Crazydoglady123 · 26/03/2021 11:59

@Narwhal88 I'm now worried as on our screening the nurse offered to weigh me or I gave her my weight so I gave her it but it's my pre lockdown weight 🙄 I haven't weighed myself in ages as I hate scales. Now I'm worried I won't have enough sedation 😬 I may have to ask when I'm in for a scan to be weighed... was it painful when they did it or just painful after? 12 is a good number. I know we all want loads and loads but like my acupuncturist said as long as you have one good one that's all that matters

RobinRose · 26/03/2021 12:19

@Annny27 I did wounder if you meant a scalpel syringe... definitely not into that kind of foreplay 😳🤣

@notyetamumbuttrying the gp has given me an ear spray, it was really bad over night but seems a bit better today so fingers crossed it buggers off soon, or stopps weeping at least! Oh I love a bath bomb, haven't had one for ages, must get some more!

@marvellouslymadmum ahhhh yes that is brilliant 🤣🤣! Going to hunt out a scarf now 😎

@2020mission call your gp back and ask to speak with someone regarding your results. One of the GPS went though the results with me, I've also got access to GP,s online system so I can see the results too. They should give them to you if you request them.

@Narwhal88 fingers crossed you have a good bunch of eggs!

Narwhal88 · 26/03/2021 12:21

I would think the change in weight wouldn't make much difference really but you can mention it. It was painful during, I felt the needle inside me, but I could handle it, it wasn't horrific. Try not to worry I'm sure you will be fine. I had no pain after, due my next paracetamol dose now actually!

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/03/2021 12:47

@Marvellouslymadmum haha, they certainly don't take after you then 😂 hope you get you're referral soon!
@Narwhal88 ooh that doesn't sound a fun experience! Think I'll be asking for the biggest dose they'll give! 12 is great! These next few days will go slow then 😬 will you keep us updated? Thanks! I will do 😊
@RobinRose glad you're getting sorted! I've never actually used a bath bomb if you can believe that. Defo a shower girl but think I'll enjoy a bath for once, light some candles etc.

@Motherofkittens28 don't rush yourself as I massively underestimated recovery and shoulder pain took days to go and then my tummy was tender for a week and still a bit tweaks on bellybutton. I think your endo was worse than mine too and as they've removed it they have performed surgery and your body needs time to heal. I found hot water bottle/wheat pillow helped.
@Dogmum13 in terms of sedation i had it for something else but they can top you up with extra, they start off on the minimum to help quicl recover. @2020mission they said mine were normal, and they are in normal range however they are not normal ratios - my LH is double my FSH and it should be almost the same (have pcos) and receptionist previously has said bloods were normal when in fact I was anemic and dr started me on iron....

Dogmum13 · 26/03/2021 13:27

@kerrym87 what did I ask you? I can't remember what the question was and think it's a few pages back 🙈

crazycatlady1981 · 26/03/2021 14:33

@Narwhal88 great news on the 12 eggs! 🙌 That sounds like a really good amount!
Lack of full on sedation sounds awful! 😱 I thought you’d be pretty much knocked out completely! I’ve never had any kind of sedation before so I am slightly worried about that side of it!

@Motherofkittens28 sorry to hear you are suffering after lap, but sounds like they got lots out so hopefully your next ivf round will be much more positive! 😊

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry af arrived! Hope you have a good old binge on wine and yummy foods!

2020mission · 26/03/2021 14:47

Thanks @kerrym87 I think I'll call again on Monday and ask if the doctor would be free to talk me through the actual numbers... I think the doctor had said she would talk me through them when I called in a week but she was talking in the middle of the blood test and I was distracted 😅 it seems odd to rely on a receptionists opinion right??

kerrym87 · 26/03/2021 15:10

@Dogmum13 I think you were saying about weight and hoping they gave you enough sedation. I know its moving quick I feel awful that I miss so much but its not cos I'm not bothered! Also messaged but it hadn't properly sent then the thread had moved on so far it wasn't relevant anymore! Anyone found acupuncture useful? I've just had first appointment and session thought its worth a try as not back at clinic for a rpt SA and review for 3 months

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/03/2021 15:26

@kerrym87 omg Kerry, can't believe they got it so wrong for you! Incompetence of the highest order! Have only heard good things about acupuncture, think I'll try it once ivf starts. Gonna chat to the consultant about it if I remember!

@crazycatlady1981 we both intend on getting royally pissed tonight! 😂 Dh has hard a week too so we've both agreed we're getting on it 😆

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 26/03/2021 15:51

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah I'll keep you all updated! I haven't told anyone irl at what point we are at so it's nice to share!
@crazycatlady1981 thanks. I had never had sedation before either so didn't know what to expect. I kept thinking it was gonna kick in but it just didn't, she did up my dose as I said I didn't feel it but it was over before I knew it. Next time I will say I need more!

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/03/2021 17:14

@Narwhal88 oh that's not good! I was sedated when I had my wisdom tooth out a few years back and I was the same but afterwards people were telling me all these other things that happened and I didn't remember any of them! I thought I'd remembered the whole things and turns out I'd blocked a huge section out 😂 12 eggs is great though! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@RobinRose woohoo good luck!

@notyetamumbuttrying yes they overtook me years ago! Thank you 😊 hope you feel better after a nice relaxing bath

MiniBaker · 26/03/2021 17:19

@Crazydoglady123 ahh that’s good to know.. I’m not going to reschedule then as I’ve already booked the day off work. I feel like I’ll feel bit embarrassed but I guess they’ve seen it all before!

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/03/2021 17:27

@Narwhal88 😊 glad it's nice for you to share with us, it's great to understand more so thank you for sharing.
@Marvellouslymadmum thank you 😊
@MiniBaker they defo have! ♥️

OP posts:
Dogmum13 · 26/03/2021 17:55

@kerrym87 I think it might have been @Crazydoglady123 you meant to tag? We haven't even had an SA done yet because of Covid so not at that stage yet xx

Motherofkittens28 · 26/03/2021 18:53

@Narwhal88 congratulations, that's a great number of eggs! I can't believe you were conscious though, that's not good at all, I've never been remotely aware for mine.

@kerrym87 I think I have overestimated how quickly I was going to recover. My last lap I only had two incisions but this time I've got four and it does feel like they've done a lot in there. My note say they did hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy, laparoscopy and excision of endometriosis, right fimbrial cystectomy and vaginal cyst excision. Sound like if it was there they cut it lol! I've just been in bed all day with all three of my cats looking after me.

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/03/2021 19:17

@Motherofkittens28 aww that's a lot of little surgeries all in one! Will you be able to take some more time off work? Won't be good to push yourself after all that 😕

2020mission · 26/03/2021 19:30

Ok it turns out my gynaecology referral is a separate referral to the fertility clinic 😔 has anyone been referred to them for a red bleeding cervix? I really can't be dealing with more poking at my cervix... I can't even bear to think of what a biopsy would be like or what they are going to do. I only have spotting for a few days before AF no pain or bleeding after sex and my smear result isn't even back yet? Worried now
