Hi ladies

I'm 23 and my partner (27) and I are TTC baby #1!

It was our first month trying this month and AF is due 2nd/3rd of March, so far just BFN! My cycle is roughly 26/27 days! But didn't expect to get pregnant first cycle so I'm feeling ok 👌🏼

Anyone else TTC baby no 1 with a similar cycle? 🥰 xx

Anyone temping here?!

I'm not temping as I was worried about stressing out the OH too much - the OPKs are okay as I can do them in the bathroom and just flippantly mention the results to him but if I started temping as well I think he'd get feel under too much pressure haha!

Are you temping @xoJellyBean and is it helping?

I'm using the CB Advanced Digital OPKs, as this is my first cycle, and I was hoping they'd confirm that all the signals my body give off around ovulation are accurate - fortunately they have confirmed as I got my peak on OPK this morning which ties in with me having a couple of very good hair days, lots of EWCM and having sex dreams Should mean that even if we don't use OPKs things should be fairly predictable. I'm very fortunate I have extremely regular cycles though, so that definitely helps!

I told my OH I got my peak but he's been struggling with performance anxiety this week so I'm hoping telling him that hasn't stressed him out too much to dtd or we'll be out for this month! Trying not to worry too much though, we've got plenty of time to try this year and a weird quirk with the way I get paid at work means that the later we conceive, the more maternity pay I'll get when the time comes too, so that's some incentive not to rush things too much and will hopefully cushion some of the disappointment when AF comes too. It's so exciting though it's hard not to hope, even if it is just the first cycle.

How is everyone else getting on this month?

@xoJellyBean I’ve started temping this cycle. It’s only cycle 2 but I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss ovulation (I have a wacky cycle from 15 years on the pill). I use the Femometer app and I brought a Bluetooth thermometer so it’s super easy. You can pick one up on Amazon or second hand on eBay too. Have you been temping?

Omg guys I totally spoke too soon! Didn't bother with opks yesterday cos I was so sure I was done for this month, but then I noticed EWCM again last night so I tested this morning and got my first ever positive on those crappy one step opks - I think I must've actually ovulated late! Haven't BDed since Tuesday so might have to get on it tonight 😬 Why is this so hard?!!

@taytay2020 ohh that's great news!! Sounds like you've got a busy night ahead of you 😂 I got my peak this morning too, still hoping I can persuade my OH to get in a bit of action later too 😂

@sarie24 I think I preferred it when I thought I ovulated on Monday - much better BD coverage! I think I need a rest now but I guess that will have to wait lol

I had a revelation today too... I've had bowel and stomach issues for a long time and intermittently I get a pain in my lower right abdomen - nothing too sore but enough that I need a hot water bottle. I always assumed it was a bowel flare up but this is my first month with opks and today is my peak so it seems like maybe this pain has been an ovulation pain all these years! Because I never monitored my cycles and have so many bowel issues I never even considered it being ovulation pain 🙈😂

Well I'm out. OH isn't ready and doesn't want to try this month. Feels like all my effort and excitement was a total waste... He was totally onboard but now he's just not really into the idea so we've missed the window this month 😔 just wish he'd been honest with me so I didn't get my hopes up.
Probably not going to bother doing any opks or anything next month as there's no point making an effort if it's one sided, I don't want to feel this disappointed again 😕

@sarie24 Ahh sorry to hear that! I think I could handle my DH not being ready, but now that we've started I'd be very upset if he outright changed his mind now! I think men quite often don't realise how momentous this decision is for us, and how it's so much harder to put it out of our minds when we get reminders from our bodies throughout the month! I hope you can both be ready to start trying again soon.

I am out this month ... started spotting at cd21 thought was implantation
I am at work and af is here
I literally cried the bathroom
It is mentally and emotionally draining...,

One of my friends got her baby this month and another got pregnant on her first try
Every month seems like a disappointment
Not sure what I am doing wrong .... I cut out coffee, lubes etc .... just feel down in the pits

I've been following this thread the past few days, thought I'd say hello .
I'm new to the TTC world, this is my 3rd cycle I'm CD 23 today.

I did use OPKs last cycle and ovulated quite late, CD30 and AF came on CD43. I've stopped using OPKs due to my longer cycle and finding it actually more stressful lol, I haven't started temping but might.

Does anyone else get bad periods? My periods are so bad that I can’t walk and I would vomit

@xoJellyBean thanks for the welcome, ah that's great, all the women in my family have shorter cycles and then there's me with the longer cycle 😂😅

ah in that case then I'll probably start temping next cycle as I've missed quite a lot of this cycle!
