Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

How are you finding it?

@Grace185 I go on my pre mom and clue every day doing exact same thing! OH thinks I've gone mad! Woke up this morning and thought... yay only 7 days till I can test.

@Grace185 and @marcella64 I’m exactly the same! Always checking my app calendars when i already know it’s too early and there will be nothing new to look at! Haha

I was sad for a little bit this morning at my BFN but I am now feeling fine and positive about trying next month 😊

@Dixie1488 glad you’re feeling better today! I’m sure I’ll be in the same bucket at the end of the month. The first month ttc is a miracle if you got a BFF but I can only hope haha.

We were originally going to have a break next month for a few months but I mentioned trying again next month if we’re not successful this month and OH was well up for it! Then we might take a few months off as he’s not keen on a December birthday for them, I’m the same regally but now I just want one!!

Ah that’s great! I get where he’s coming from, the December birthday also crossed my mind but I’ve decided I don’t want to wait 😆

When are you thinking about taking a test?

@Dixie1488 don't lose hope yet you still have a chance this month the test may have been too soon. I'm just hoping if I think about it less it will just happen but u have to think about it because you can't get pregnant on any day it has to be the correct days and so you end up thinking 🙈🙈 last time it took me 6 months and I think I conceived when I was thinking yeh this aint gonna happen It was new years eve I found out I was pregnant on 16th Jan so I reckon it was a good ovulation day but at the time I didn't track anything I genuinely thought you could get pregnant any time haha

@Dixie1488 yeah I think I feel like you. We’ll see how the next two months go!

I really don’t know about the test, I’ll def wait until the 23rd when af is due but I may also have a longer cycle than 30 days as I’ve only had one real cycle since off the pill and it used to be longer, I think, but I never tracked it really before. Only been on the pill 8 months. I’m going to try wait until the end of the month but I know if af doesn’t arrive on the 23rd I’ll be tempted that weekend. I normally get period pains about two days before af so if I feel those I’ll just wait. I don’t want that faint positive / negative! I’ll go mad haha. I just don’t know! I’m counting the days already!!

@Grace185 it sounds like we will be testing at a similar time...my AF is due 21st Jan so need to wait and see until then.

I was just wondering I'm 5DPO has anyone had any symptoms at this early stage?

@MMG21 Yes I guess you're right. If I’m not pregnant I really hope AF is not super late and I have a crazy long cycle- it just gets complicated when that happens.

Haha I know right!! You can’t not think about it, which causes stress!

Oh really? Yes so did I! In school they teach you “if you don’t use protection you’ll definitely get pregnant”, so being on the pill since I was 15 that’s what I believed haha. Oh how wrong!

@penguin7 oh cool, are you waiting til the 21st to test. I’ve read a lot about unreadable tests and I think I’d rather wait a week extra and not for certain. I don’t thing I’d racer well to uncertain!

@Grace185 I'm going to try and wait as long as possible. The 21st is a Thurs so I would wait until the weekend then I don't get distracted in the working week.😂

@Grace185 I feel the same about the December birthday it's so risky with Xmas Eve, day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve would much rather October 😁

Ah right, hopefully you can resist unlike me this morning! We all need the willpower but it’s so so hard to wait weeks. The uncertainty drives me mad!

I’m not great with working out cycle days, I rely on my apps. Do you use any apps to track your cycle?

Is AF late? I suppose because you have just come off your pill you may not know how long your natural cycles are just yet?

Hi! First month TTC here, finished pill 17th Dec, withdrawal bleed 21st and had another bleed the 6th Jan for 3 days (Early AF I assume?!) Been using ClearBlue OPKS which showed a high in the 1st and 2nd Jan. It told me to test again the 10th which I did and it was 'Peak fertility' so we DTD that lunchtime. We were wrecked so didn't do it again although that evening I used a normal ClearBlue OPK and high fertility was gone so I'm hoping it did the trick! Hope I ovulated as normal. Good luck to everyone!! X

Anyone else using the clear blue opks ? If so how many days of flashing smiley have you had in on day 5?!

Turns out I was completely off and no wonder I had a BFN yesterday morning, I downloaded Flo and yesterday afternoon AF arrived so that was 31 days between withdrawal bleed and my first natural period.

I'm thinking about trying the easy@home ovulation sticks this month once AF has done her thing, although I'm a bit wary as I've heard it can make everything a bit stressful

@Hollyjh89 It can be difficult to work it out, so great you’ve got the app- hopefully it will make things clearer 😊 I’m sorry to hear AF arrived but it means you can try again soon! 😊

Yes I think I will do the same. I was also a bit worried about it becoming more stressful but I think I want to know specifically when ovulation is rather than guessing. If it get super stressful
I will stop using them!

@mrssunshinexxx oh yeah that must be exhausting! So are you just about to enter into the sexy phase? Haha. My last period started 23 Dec but not sure what my cycle is 30-35d I think.

Ive decided today that if af doesn’t arrive by 28th I’ll test on the morning of the 29th, a nice Friday morning treat haha. That covers the 30d cycle and just about the 35d cycle too!

@Hollyjh89 I’ve read a lot of people using them and they bit some at ease and seem to cause stress to ours. Me and OH have decided to try a few months without and just dtd often and then if that doesn’t work I’ll look into them. I know myself and I’d get too absorbed by it all, well even more than I am now!

So anyone who has already had a little one, when did you start feeling symptoms? If I’m right my 9/10dpo should be at the weekend and that might be when things might happen but trying not to get too obsessed and I’ve read people’s bodies doing the symptoms and not be pg
