Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

How are you finding it?

@Grace185 I go for every other day or every day on the run upto ovulation then just the first day of static opk and then leave it for like 3 days

@mrssunshinexxx oh cool thanks. How many sticks do you use each cycle? I’ve read some test like three times a day! Don’t know if it would add too much stress!

OH left a 3 day gap on when we dtd this month, so day I got my peak we went for it. He wanted to give me a big load 😂 (tmi) I do wonder if that works though!? X

@Grace185 when I used the sticks with DS the advice was test at 1pm each day in lead up to ovulation, I did every day 5 days before predicted. This month I did that then twice on my peak day. I've tested each day since peak just to make sure lh stays down as I haven't tested in years so I know I only get one true peak. Next month I'll do 5 days before according to clue then leave it once I get peak. Xx

@Grace185 mine say to test with first morning urine and they are v expensive so just once a day. It as this is first month my periods are regular so now I know high fertile time I won't use as many next month sometimes I skip a day too (last time TTC to save some) I leave the 3 day gap as it boosts the sperm quality apparently doing it every day isn't the best option even though it's tempting !

I know i shouldn't have done it im too impatient I took a test and BFN due on on Tuesday (maybe) not had real period yet. I feel OK not devastated I just wanted to know 😪 I'm not gonna test anymore now until I miss a period. That was my temptation out of my system now haha

So I caved this morning even though I’m only 10DPO. I got a BFN as I expected. I don’t feel too upset about it but I suspect when AF comes along I will!

@MMG21 I just posted the same without seeing your post! The temptation was too high for us both this morning 😩

It makes us bloody mad. I knew it would be a BFN as I have only just come off the pill but I dunno I just wanted some news haha. No point in DTD now as there's no chance 7 days before AF due. I can just have a rest. And wait and see when I get AF. Im just scared that if it doesnt come but I'm not pregnant when will it come 😔😔

@MMG21 and @Dixie1488 completely get that urge! Sorry they are negative. I haven’t got any test in the house and so not letting myself buy any until at least next weekend as I know I’d cave! There’s still hope until af comes isn’t there?

@MMG21 it does! I just worries me a bit because I am already feeling myself getting obsessed after only one cycle! I just need to rationalise and remind myself we are only one cycle 1 and we have plenty of time! Aw I completely empathise.

If I am being honest we only DTD twice this whole month in the fertile window. We weren’t actively trying just having fun and not really thinking about it. It’s only in the last week I have changed my mindset and really want this to be our time! So next cycle we will properly try 😊

@Grace185 now that is a sensible idea! I had two just sitting in my draw so I just couldn’t resist. Yeah I guess so but I really feel this isn’t the cycle it is going to happen, I don’t know.. just don’t expect it. Gosh I sound negative!

@mrssunshinexxx thanks there is deffinatly something but at 10 DPO and af due tomorrow/ Thursday I would expect it darker plus it's a Poundland cheap test so trying not to get my hopes up!

@Dixie1488 and @MMG21 it's so tempting isn't it I really regret testing @Grace185 I think not having tests in the house is the best idea I stocked up on loads from Poundland and now regret it!

@grace185 there maybe for @Dixie1488 but I highly doubt it for me just because its not a real cycle I dont even know if my ovulation has resumed. Its only been 3 weeks since I stopped my pill. So its unlikely in a way I need AF so I can start properly. I also bought my tests of amazon cb digitals cheaper and don't have to worry about seeing anyone I know in home bargain 🤣🤣 i forgot my mum has access to my amazon well she range me at 8am. Are you pregnant??? Are you trying?? Wonder if its a boy or a girl 🤣🤣🤣 this is why i keep it hush hush my mum is baby mad!!!

@MMG21 oh no! I’m not going to tell anyone we’re ttc unless it takes ages and then might speak to my best friend as I know she took a while. I have folic acid out on the coffee table as told OH that that goes away if ANYONE comes over haha

@Grace185 I'm not taking folic acid it absolutely knocked me sick when I was pregnant last time so i stopped taking it then too. and not sure about taking just yet as I dont want it to adjust my cycle i need it to be established first xx

It’s our first month TTC as well, I’m 31 and my partner is 33. came off the pill mid December after the week break. So confused with what’s going on as unless my calculations are completely off I should be CD 34?! Last period was December 10th and so far this month AF hasn’t shown up, had a negative this morning.

New to this so any advice would be great x

@mrssunshinexxx does it improve sperm quality!? I laid with my legs in the air for a good 20 mins after, not letting those swimmers escape! Last month I was obsessed in my 2ww this month I'm a bit preoccupied with home schooling. I found a lump in my boob New Year's Day, scared the shit out of me. I have the breast clinic tomorrow... I've always had trouble with my boobs but lately before af they have been like rocks and super painful. I'm praying this thing is just a cyst.

I just keep find myself going on the Clue app as if it would magically say af is due today rather than in 10 days time!
