Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

Hi ladies, can I join please? 13dpo today (estimated as I'm trying not to decent into the chaos of ovulation tests just yet!) & had a BPN this morning after days on end of symptoms.
Am I clutching at straws to think I could have had a late implantation and test again when I'm 3 days late/17dpo?

Yes definitely possible if you didn't use opks ! @pizzaobsessed how did you estimate ovulation ?

@mrssunshinexxx Just through the period dates I have put into the Flo app. I only came off the pill 22nd Jan so it's estimated my ovulation as being the 8th Feb based on a 28 day cycle which I've gone straight back into when I've come off the pill before (for non-ttc reasons).

So basically, nothing scientific!

@Grace185 She's due on Tuesday. Fingers crossed she doesn't arrive for you!

Depends how obsessed you want to get with TTC the less the better but easier said than done @pizzaobsessed I used that for first 4 months last time then started using opks and realised Flo had my dates about 6 days out ! So I won't trust that now I use opks

@mrssunshinexxx thank you, that's really useful to know. I think I'll look at opks if we've not conceived in a few months, I just know I'll be obsessive about it in no time! I'm hoping that for now, since we dtd most days, we'll get lucky at some point, regardless of when ovulation turns out to be.

Yes definitely if you are regular through the month you have v good chance @pizzaobsessed

Morning! Woke up with a feeling of period cramps so it’s only a matter of time really. Would rather it just hurry up now than stringing me along.

@Grace185 Morning! Yep same here, mild cramps which I hope are a sign of something positive but really, I think my body's just mocking me and the dreaded AF will show herself in the next day or so.

I'm 8dpo I will do so well if I can hold out testing until the weekend

@pizzaobsessed i am ok about it. I mean I really want to be pg but as I’ve said above if I’m not it’s not the end of the world. We weren’t planning to start until the summer but then decided over Christmas to try jan and feb. It’ll just give me time to get to know my cycles, lose a bit of weight and have a bit more time in my job before I has to tell them I’m pg. still disappointed but in the end I know it’s probably better in the long run. How about you?

No idea any more at all @Grace185 I used to be like clockwork. Atleast I know I've ovulated x

Yeah that’s good, isn’t it normal that af (hopefully it won’t come for you!) is due pretty regularly after actual ov or am I getting confused? So shouldn’t be too long.

I’m 7DPO and got some brown spotting today. Hoping it’s implantation. AF isn’t due for another week so keep everything crossed!

Really not sure I was sure I felt ovulation the month before too but never actually saw it on opks.

@Grace185 yeah I know what you mean, once to decide to start ttc you just want it to happen NOW lol. It's good that you've got other focuses too so hopefully you'll stay relaxed about it all

I feel completely normal so I'm telling myself I'm not pregnant but then I had no symptoms when I conceived my baby!

@pizzaobsessed yeah def, not being able to control it is annoying! I’m hoping to stay chilled about it when it comes time for the summer too

Not sure if anyone is still around on this thread but perhaps I could just use this entry as a bit of a diary entry. I never thought I'd be so OCD so early in this process. Such a weird feeling and so tough when you don't want to talk to your family about it and have them asking a bunch of questions.

I had my IUD removed in December and we sort of winged it for Dec & Jan. Feb I used an ovulation kit and it was literally a daily attempt for 4 days before and 2 days after just to make sure we give ourselves the best chance. I have a 28 day cycle and ovulated exactly on the day my app said I would (confirmed with test strip) and I'm currently 12DPO, AF due tomorrow. I could say every symptom points towards BFP but also, I just really want it to be so what's new. Also been testing every day since 9DPO because I actually can't help myself.

Any cramp I feel, I feel it could be AF. Still ave hope though, just needed to get my nutso thoughts out of my head.

Hello @ALittleOCD if testing every day and af due tomorrow I would expect to see a line can you see anything?

@mrssunshinexxx absolutely stark white. probably out this month. Was just hoping that with all the right timing around ovulation it would've been a 100% kinda month. I'm obviously a bit too much of a planner for the unpredictability of the TTC experience.

Need to stop overthinking it I suppose

@ALittleOCD sorry you’re feeling stressed about it. Even timing it exactly right there’s only like a 20-30% chance in it happening unfortunately! Hoping af stays away for you and for me!!
