Anyone else first month ttc?

Hi guys.

I’m new here, I’m 29 (30 in May) and my boyfriend is the same. We had decided to start ttc in June time 2021 but over Christmas we both decided to ‘roll the dice’ once before and started having unprotected sex this month. I came off the pill in October time as I didn’t get on with it AT ALL.

I use Clue but only had two afs before this cycle so not sure how long my cycle actually is. We dtd most days over when the app said I was most fertile and it aligned with the cm too. I’m dry not (tmi) so I assume I’m passed it now!

With a 30 day cycle I had last month I’m due af on the 22nd but with and 35 day one (which I used to have before the pill I’d be ov around today but cm isn’t having that, well dtd anyway just in case. Then wouldn’t except af until the 27th. I’m willing it not to arrive and have decided to not even contemplate a test until the end of the month if af hasn’t arrived.

Just wondered who else is trying and in the first few months? I can’t help but reading everything I can find about early signs and feel like when we start trying properly in the few months I might go crazy!!

How are you finding it?

Well ladies after 17 days of using the clear blue ovulation sticks with 16 days of flashing smileys this morning I finally had a static smiley 👏👏 what this means for my cycle this month I have no idea my app originally predicated af for the 23rd Feb (27 day cycle) it’s now updated it to the 7 March (38 day cycle) so I guess we will see 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yay @Glenpatrick I would count 16 days from first day of static this allows for upto 48 hours to ovulate

@Glenpatrick glad you got your static! I think I’m going to used some opks in the months we’re having off ttc (avoiding December and January) to try find any patterned with ov within the added pressure of ttc too. Anyone used the cheap ones?

Yeah I bought 50 off Amazon @Grace185 they obviously aren't as good as the expensive ones take abit more studying bu I downloaded an app called Premom and you take a pic of the test and it scores it and tells you when you peak

@mrssunshinexxx oh great thanks. I think doing them when we aren’t actually trying might be a good move as I wouldn’t be able to get obsessed haha

@Grace185 I did the cheap ones the last time you could get a box of 50 of them for something like 10/15 from
Amazon. Like @mrssunshinexxx says they are harder to use but they still do the same job! I used to wee into a container and dip them in.

Just glad I finally had a static! Yep Mrs sunshine that’s what I’m thinking too. I’ve put positive ovulation test on my app today so here’s hoping in 2 weeks time it will be another positive I’m putting on 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@mrssunshinexxx I did track yes but I gave up after 9 days of flashing smileys. Looks like we just missed the egg though, must have ovulated around 5th and we DTD on 6th (early hours!) so the egg must have just buggered off!!! Oh well, must just be on it a bit better this time, think the cheapies/Femometer will help.

Caved tonight! Well oh asked if I had ‘peed on a stick’ yet and he was keen for me to just try a cheapie just to see. It was a cheapie and nighttime wee when I’ve been drinking a lot of water today and af not due til mon but it was still stark white and not fun to look at. I know it’s early but thought we’d try and I really do think I’m out this month anyway, which means I’m not going to be in the running for at least 3 months as we are taking a break to avoid a Dec / jan baby 🙄😕😞

Sorry to hear that @Grace185, how many DPO are you? It might just be too early, particularly if it was a cheapie rather than a FRER

11dpo but that’s only using an app. Going to get some opks for my break months right check I’m actually ovulating etc

If you were only 11DPO then you are definitely not out this month! It is perfectly normal to get a negative at 11DPO even if you are pregnant, I would go buy a FRER and test again today :)

@pbdr ah thanks. I do an a FRER but I think I’ll wait until at least wed. I don’t like staring at a negative. Af is due Monday so we’ll see :)

I really need some advice guys.

Yesterday I had 3 positive strip tests, all 3 showed up straight away not a very dark pink but nearly dark pink (all with different urine samples)
But today I’ve done two different tests and samples and got both negatives :(
I’ve been trying for 2 years and I’m just going crazy. I’ve ordered digital tests, my period is due tomorrow and I’m just clueless tbh

Hi @Cutlercrochet, were the second lot of tests you did a different brand? Different brands of tests have different levels of sensitivity so become positive at different points, so it may simply be that. Or could the urine sample you used today have been more dilute than the one yesterday?

Nope the same tests, the strip ones. That's what's confusing me. And possibly but it looked as dark as it did yesterday and yesterday my 2nd and 3rd were a lot lighter as it was around half 10 and they still showed positive

In that case I suppose there's nothing much else you can do but test again in a day or two, I'll be crossing my fingers for you!

How’s everyone doing? Af is due tomorrow for me but I def feel out as I have had the extra cm I normally get before af and just not feeling it at all after the test on Friday but looking forward to spending a few months on tracking my cycles closely before ttc again from late May

Came on today :( thinking maybe it fertilised but didn't implant and the positive results were left over hormones x

@mrssunshinexxx exciting your ov definitely happened this month :) yeah I think I’m not letting myself think about it really. If it happens then obviously it’ll be great but waiting until the summer wouldn’t be bad with my job etc.
