Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?
Xx

Hey! Newbie here too! Had my last baby 11 years ago when I was 21 and now ttc with hubby to be. Came off the mini pill over a week ago and have had high and peak ovulation days the last few days according to cb advanced obk. Not expecting miracles as I've only just come off pill but staying hopeful!!

GrapefruitGin · 10/01/2021 16:51

Hi! Congrats on starting your journey. We’ve been TTC since July, first time. I know it’s only been a short while in the grand scheme of things but feeling a little disheartened it hasn’t happened yet. It feels like everyone else is getting pregnant around me, I’m sure that’s normal to feel this way. Had a good chat with myself in the shower this morning that I’m going to chill out a bit, no more obsessing over ovulation tests and scheduling DTD (for now lol) and see what happens. I’m 30 and my DP is 31 so I know we’ve got plenty of time. I’m on day 23 so hoping for no AF next week but no pressure this month.. Well, I’ll try!

Nats7504 · 10/01/2021 16:59

Hey ladies.

I’m Nat, I’m 36 (37 next month) I have 2 boys from a previous relationship aged 13 and 10. This will be my partners first baby, we’ve been together 3 years.

I’m also on month 1, although we didn’t really try this month, it was more of a ‘am I still ovulating’ after years of being on the coil. I’ve got a bit of a obsessive personality so this is going to be fun!

Rosie333 · 10/01/2021 17:07

Hello everyone. New to this site and TTC - on cycle day 25. Just turned 35 and been TTC for 9 months. One early miscarriage and nothing since! Blood tests all normal so just continuing to try and hope StarStarStar

Wondergirl1111 · 10/01/2021 17:08

@Fifi1086 great that you have ovulated first month coming off the mini pill! Very promising - how many years were you on it for?? Keep us updated! I know it's hard when everyone around us is getting pregnant but when people share their bfp's on here I feel like they are little statements of hope that it will happen for all of us! Do you think you will test before your af is due?

@GrapefruitGin - sorry to hear you have been feeling a little disheartened - as you said it's not been long in terms of how long experts say it takes to get a BFP in general - but still, once you decide to start trying you get excited and want it to happen asap lol! But - you have this cycle to test yet - and if no bfp then we are cycle sisters - and will keep each other positive for the next cycle! What ovulation tracking were you doing previously - do you test positive at all or was it hard to track that little 'O' moment down?!
I've ordered a pack of 10 clear blue ovulation tests as last month my ewcm came earlier than the Flo app predicted so I thought better to track my own body than an app!

I've got my fingers crossed for both you you this month but I'll be here next month with you if af appears - positive vibes for 2021!

I've been watching loads of OBEM lately and have constant butterflies whenever I think about it!!!! You guys?

@Nats7504 welcome! You're in the same boat as me with properly starting next cycle after some fun this month haha! What cycle day you on?

@Rosie333 welcome too! Very close cd day to me and @GrapefruitGin so that's exciting!
Sorry to hear about your MC - but I'm pleased to hear your blood tests are all fine - that must give you great peace of mind.
My sister in law tried for 7 months without luck and had bloods done - all came back positive and the next month she got a BFP - I think the mind is a powerful thing isn't it - seems lots of people saying that after they stopped tracking so much like @GrapefruitGin us about to do, they all of a sudden get a BFP because their minds stopped worrying!

So @Nats7504 we might need to keep each others obsessive natures in check haha! Xx

Wondergirl1111 ( I have no idea how to tag people?? 🙈)

I’m due AF on Friday 15th so CD23? As mentioned I’m obsessive so I’ve taken tests for the past 3 days (all negative cause it’s far too bloody early!) So glad I deal with the banking as it’s an expensive habit!!

Although this will be my 3rd baby, I was very lucky and got pregnant 1st month with my previous 2. But that was over 10 years ago and I’m the wrong side of 30 now! I literally have no idea how to get pregnant outside of the shagging bit!! 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Fifi1086 · 10/01/2021 17:19

@Wondergirl1111 I was on it for 2 years since having the mirena out (didn't suit me) but it was progesterone only pill so may take less time to ovulate coming off that and I did ovulate regularly enough while on it which is common! On my last daughter I didn't get BFP until 2 days after AF was due so as much as I know I'll test early (due 25th) I'll try not to 😂

obsessive personality here too! Trying to keep it under wraps so it doesn't scare the other half away 😂😂😂

MayDay27 · 10/01/2021 17:19

Can I joint! Currently 6dpo on first cycle for our first. I have a short Luteal phase so my app is saying af due on Thursday, I'm going to try and hold out on testing until then 😅

Wondergirl1111 · 10/01/2021 17:28

@Nats7504 haha - put an @ before the name and you can tag anyone in the thread!

Gah the wrong side of 30... Isn't it sad! I can't deal that we are called geriatric mum's after thirty lol - I only just felt like a grown up at about 30!!

I Know - I'm a total new is too - I just this month read up on how it all works and I feel so cheated lol! It's one of the biggest jokes ever how we spend our teens trying not to get pregnant and then as soon as you want one it's like what... My one egg per month lives for ONE day?!

Yay another cycle sister! I'm looking forward to the end of the month for us all to be getting to business and keeping each other updated!

@Wondergirl1111 the mind is definitely a powerful thing! NY resolution is to chill!!!Grin

Nats7504 · 10/01/2021 17:43

I know right?! I don’t know how I’ve made it to 36 to be honest and managed to keep the boys alive too. I’m winning at life 🙌

I had no idea when I ovulated, which I checked this month and it was day 12 which going by the norm is early. We had drunken Christmas fun and weren’t careful but didn’t have any 3 days before ovulation so I’m pretty delusional to think I’m pregnant 🙈 pass me the wine! 🍷

Also, anyone think being a woman is so unfair?! He is all for having a baby. He gets to have fun making it, drink all through the pregnancy and his bits won’t look like they’ve been mauled by an animal after. I better get a fucking good push present.

Jesus, I sound an angry woman 🤣 can you tell I’m hormonal?! 🙈

Wondergirl1111 · 10/01/2021 17:51

@Fifi1086 how old is your little girl?
Keep updated on your tests! God - who knew the time between ovulation and af to take a test was so long until you start trying! I feel like my period always crept around quicker than I would like and now it just feels forever away!
Aweek to wait for my af but I'm pretty sure I ovulated about 4 days before we got round to trying, so even though I was technically in the fertile window according to the Flo app I don't think we had a chance this month... Though I'm sure that won't stop me from having a crazy moment and testing just incase hah! Xx

Wondergirl1111 · 10/01/2021 17:56

Hahaha @Nats7504 I love you already! So true!! They just get the fun bits! I'm very lucky my hubbie has an amazing body but I'm already resenting that he won't change at all and I'll probably look like a whale from week 3 haha - although they don't get to experience carrying and growing and bonding with the baby before it's even in the world so I think we are the lucky ones really (except the mauled bits part! Haha!) XXX

@Wondergirl1111 my DD is 11, so she's put in a long shift 😂 she's dying for a little brother or sister. Ready made babysitter over here 😂

Had my peak day yday and super crampy today so I'd say I definitely ovulated. The other half is almost afraid to see me coming at this point.. anyone else's partners feeling the pressure 😂😂😂

StressyLady · 10/01/2021 18:00

Hi All,

I've been TTC the past couple of weeks for the first time. AF is due Wednesday... Got a BFN on early detection yesterday and it completely broke me. No one prepares you for this rollercoaster of emotions!

It's nice to know others feeling the same emotions. I'm fully aware I'm at the beginning of all this and looking for some outlet and people to talk to :)

Nats7504 · 10/01/2021 18:01

@Wondergirl1111 This is very true. I took my previous pregnancy for granted and didn’t appreciate the miracle of it to be honest. I was young and just expected it to happen. Fast forward 14 years and now I’m shitting myself that I’ve become infertile and my ovaries have packed up for a round the world trip without telling me. 😂

If you don’t try and make it light hearted given the fact that it’s all out of our hands and in the fertility gods ones!

Wondergirl1111 · 10/01/2021 18:04

@Nats7504 Yes you're right we do have to surrender to it all a little and keep lighthearted! I'm hoping we can all keep each other sane and positive and laughing on this group!

@Fifi1086 Mines a sex pest so trying not to give him the wrong signs incase he wears me out before I need him! 🤣

Wondergirl1111 · 10/01/2021 18:07

@Fifi1086 I think my hubby is enjoying the extra lovin' Wink but its only been a couple of weeks! I am worried he will think at some point the only reason I want to do it is for a baby - I'm determined to always make him feel part of it and loved!
But I do wonder if they feel pressure - my hubby loves hot baths and I'm subtly trying to remind him HE'S NOT ALLOWED THEM COS I'M NOT INTERESTED IN HIS SLEEPY SPERM haha xx

@StressyLady hi!!! We are all in the same boat here, so you are very welcome! Do you think you'll test again before af? Keep us updated - we're here for you!
I am not expecting anything this month but I think if I put my mind to it next month and nothing happens I'll feel very upset too and probably start catastrophising. But I guess that's all normal and probably experienced by many many before us xx

StressyLady · 10/01/2021 18:14

@Wondergirl1111 Thanks for being so welcoming! I completely related to your first post about not having anyone to talk to other than your hubby... and I often feel like I'm boring his head off. Have you thought of talking to any of your family/friends about it?
I've vowed to not test again before AF but it's super tempting!
