Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?
Xx

Hi ladies, I’ve been lurking for a few days and decided to bite the bullet and join in. I’m 31 and this is month 1 of us TTC.

@Aims1991 I’m in a very similar position as you at the moment. I’m never ever late and today I am now 3 days late. Did a test 3 days early and it was BFN, bought a CB over the weekend and waited until today to do it and again it was BFN!!! I’ve sore boobs but I usually do in the run up to AF. It’s so frustrating and feel totally in limbo.

Aims1991 · 13/01/2021 22:34

@MissOrMs yeah same as me! I've had tiny bit spotting but don't think it's came to anything. Cramps aren't the same that I get with AF! My sore boobs is away but I now have a sore back occasionally and slight sore head at times. I done a test before due and BFN and one 1 day late and the same. Both CB, going to try a FR one tomorrow I think. Anxious and excited all at once🙈

Hallie91 · 13/01/2021 22:53

@Wondergirl1111 I'm only on CD5 and will be trying for the first time this month. I'm 30 but I already have a 4yo (who was a wonderful surprise) so this is my first time trying. I'm a bit worried but more because I want it so much, rather than age.

@DeeDee2021 same - my destination wedding is cancelled which I'm sad about but worse things have happened this last year so we thought we'd just change the plan and try for another until holidays are back to normal! 🙈

Jenn101 · 14/01/2021 13:10

Hi everyone, I’ve been following along the past couple days and thought I’d drum up the courage to get involved. I’m currently on cycle 1 TTC and due AF this weekend although my periods have been irregular since coming off the pill a year ago so who knows. I had a little spotting at the start of the week which didn’t come to anything so I’m hoping it’s maybe implantation bleeding? Again completely new to this so I have absolutely no idea! Trying to hold off as long as possible before testing to make sure the results are accurate although I’m not sure how long I’ll last past the weekend! 😂

Hopefully we’ll all have BFP in the next few months to come!

Hallie91 · 14/01/2021 13:15

@Jenn101 welcome! Fingers crossed for you! I had similar with my first. I'd experienced spotting but my AF was irregular at the time and very light so I didn't think anything of it as we weren't trying. Xx

Dixie1488 · 14/01/2021 14:10

Hey girls!

Bit off topic.. what are your thoughts on having the Covid vaccine whilst TTC? I am a Family Worker going into peoples homes so we have been offered it and I have to decide by tomorrow! 😩 I’m swaying more towards no...

Thankyou!

I’m stressing. Just to add to the rest of the TTC stress haha

Dixie1488 · 14/01/2021 14:13

Welcome @Jenn101! I am also due AF this weekend but also irregular so you never know! Haha. It’s annoying right?

Oooh it could be! Let’s hope it is ☺️

I also want to hold off testing because I got a BFN 10DPO but I reckon if I am a few days late I will give in again just to make sure!

Jenn101 · 14/01/2021 14:55

Thanks @Hallie91 reassuring to know it’s not always too difficult to get pregnant with irregular AF.

@Dixie1488 unbelievably annoying. Same! If by Tuesday AF isn’t here I’ll probably cave. I’m so impatient. I’ll keep everything crossed for you.

As for the covid vaccine, it’s a hard one. I’ve been working from home since March and have very little contact with anyone else other than my partner so for me it would be an easy no. Has the advice changed around TTC and pregnancy? Are you able to chat with your doctor?

Hallie91 · 14/01/2021 15:20

@Dixie1488 that's a tough one! I'm not sure what I'd do. I very much would want the vaccine if it became available to me (I have had allergic reactions to past vaccines though so not sure if I'm allowed!) but I'm not a keyworker so not willing to put off TTC for it.

Have you searched to see if anybody has had it while TTC?

GrapefruitGin · 14/01/2021 17:54

@Aims1991 I’m in similar position, not due AF til 20th and I’m never early. Had cramping and sore boobs which is a little strange for me and today I’ve had the smallest amount of spotting so not sure if it is AF. Totally fed up and disappointed if it is.

Dixie1488 · 14/01/2021 17:56

Thanks @Jenn101 and @Hallie91 for replying. I have decided to decline the vaccine for now. I had to decide by tomorrow and my manager was banging on about it so I just decided the least stressful option was to say no. Most websites say it should be fine in pregnancy/ TTC but they cannot be sure because it hasn’t been studied. It was enough to put me off.

I made up some rubbish that I’m not keen on vaccines because I didn’t want to tell her I’m TTC haha 😂

@jenn101 I think AF may be starting :( I have very light spotting but this is usually my sign it’s on the way! Best of luck for you! Keep us updated 😊

Aims1991 · 14/01/2021 17:58

@GrapefruitGin Had some spotting yesterday but it's turned into AF so onto next month of trying. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

GrapefruitGin · 14/01/2021 18:06

@Aims1991 that’s it, I said the same to my DH. Next cycle we will be totally on the ball.

Aims1991 · 14/01/2021 18:07

@GrapefruitGin yeah same! Just can't wait for that BFP day🤞🏼

ttcSam · 14/01/2021 19:21

@Dixie1488 completely understand your decision. I was just thinking today how rubbish it is going to be for women to have to make this choice and potentially feeling like they need to tell colleagues their reasons for not doing so, when ttc is absolutely none of their business!

For those of you that know about all of this.. I’m on month 1 ttc and finally today had a :) on my opk at 7am this morning. So does that mean I am ovulating today?

I am on cd 15, and dtd on cd 9-13 and today (cd 15).. can I stop now please Grin ? I am covered for this cycle right ?!

Nats7504 · 14/01/2021 19:27

@ttcSam Jesus! I’m surprised you’re both still in one piece after all that action! 🙈
From what I’ve read, you ovulate 12-24/36 hours after your peak, so if you got a smiley face today and you don’t get one tomorrow (I got 2 days of a smiley face using CB) then you could be currently ovulating while we speak or maybe tomorrow. Exciting! With all the DTD you’ve done I’m sure there’s plenty of swimmers waiting for it! X

ttcSam · 14/01/2021 19:33

@Nats7504 it was a Terrible mistake and won’t be happening ever again. Didn’t realise how tough it would actually be but we are not teenagers anymore! Once every other day from next cycle if this one doesn’t work ! I had started too early as I thought I had quite short cycles and was using my Flo app, when the opk didn’t show :) I assumed I had just missed it, so was relieved in a way to see it this morning to know it’s happening but meant another day of dtd! That’s really useful though thank you, fingers crossed there’s no :) in the morning haha and can call it quits for a while

DeeDee2021 · 14/01/2021 19:37

@Wondergirl1111 honestly that thought about schools has totally crossed my mind too. So glad to hear it’s not just me 😂

@Hallie91 sorry to hear about your wedding. It’s awful but your right there’s definitely worse things going on in the world.

@ttcSam I definitely agree that it’s going to be annoying to decline the vaccine and having to have a explanation. The last person that you want to tell your ttc is your manager. Exciting that your ovulating and sounds like you have definitely given it a good shot 🤣

Dixie1488 · 14/01/2021 19:43

@ttcSam @DeeDee2021 Yes it’s not ideal! I was the only one in the team that declined so I suspect they will be talking about me! I was dreading my manager asking me outright but luckily she didn’t. My team have been known to hassle me “when are you having a baby? you’ll be next” etc. They started that when I was 25 (I’m 27 now) so annoying!

Hallie91 · 14/01/2021 19:43

@ttcSam I'm so glad you mentioned your dtd schedule - I've not idea how often we should and worried about missing key days by doing every other day 🙈 I've google the hell out of it and I'm still none the wiser what to do - it seems so strange creating a plan for it 🙈

Nats7504 · 14/01/2021 19:44

@ttcSam I can imagine. I’m enjoying the break while I’m on AF before cracking on with next cycle. I don’t know how I’m going to cope or my foof for that matter doing it every other day for like 7-10 days, don’t think OH has thought of that either. He’s relishing the idea of regular sex but don’t think the reality of it will match up to the fantasy 🙈
Think every other day is fine, will take the pressure off you both too. I’m 37 next month so definitely no teenager either. 🤣
I’d test again in the morning as I know with CB they say test the same time everyday, but I tested at 6pm and got a 😊 but by 11am the next day it was blank. Maybe DTD again tomorrow just be sure, you may as well after your impressive month so far 😝

Jenn101 · 14/01/2021 20:21

@Dixie1488 AF always knows how to spoil our fun! Here’s to BFP next cycle.

ttcSam · 14/01/2021 20:23

@Dixie1488 ahh I am also 27, still feels young to be having a baby doesn't it! I work in a school and like to hypothesise/worry about things that probably won't happen, (rumours of school workers being given vaccines etc) and had decided I wouldn't get it if we were (hypothetically!) offered... such a tough call, but hope it makes you feel like you made the right one.

@Hallie91 @Nats7504 honestly, it was too much. We thought the same and were looking forward to it etc. thought it would be fun, but doing it every day just sucks the fun right out of it. We did actually try yesterday too but that ended up a giant flop (hehe). I think he is hoping that if he just puts the hard work in now this month (we've come so far now!!) then hopefully will never have to do it again, but have said this isn't sustainable month on month so will probably just do every other day from around cd 10 ... tempted to sack off the CB tests, but it was exciting to see that little smiley face pop up this morning!!!

Dixie1488 · 14/01/2021 20:33

@Jenn101 Yes! I’m excited to give cycle 2 a proper try because this month we didn’t really try, we only DTD twice.

@ttcSam It does feel young but in the last few months I have finally felt ready to be a Mum (scary though!). Thanks for sharing that, it does help me to feel I have made a sensible decision 😊

On the subject of DTD- Reading your experience of doing it a lot has made me think maybe every day is just too much and not sustainable for us either. I think we will do every other just for the fertile week and a few days around it. What do other ladies think? I just think I wouldn’t cope well with it everyday if you know what I mean 🤣

Aims1991 · 14/01/2021 20:50

I can't wait for AF to disappear so I can DTD🤣 my OH rolled his eyes when I said today that I wanted to do it just about every day when OV and every other day as normal🤣
