Newbie TTC 2021 club!

Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?

Seems like quite a few of us are later in our cycles now and waiting for AF - I'm CD24 - @Nats7504 you said you're CD22? @Dixie1488 you are due on this weekend too? Will be good to have mini support groups for when we are ovulating and DTD, testing and then others who are ovulating now to keep us all entertained while we are sat around waiting for AF/to test(hopefully soon BFP's!)

I'm so excited for the first BFP in this group! I'm so impatient for next cycle already - I feel obsessed!!!!

Thanks, I'm now on CD31! I'm never late always 27/28 when AF arrives and has done for the last 4 years. So hopefully another test in a few days

@Aims1991 Ahhh!! So you are late when you never usually are late? Have you done a test so far?

@Wondergirl1111 Yeah I'm never even 12 hours late and I'm day 4 now! Done a Clearblue early detection test before AF was due and BFN then done one the day I was due and BFN also. Then I done a clear blue digital Monday 2 days late and still a BFN! I have read that it can be 1/2 weeks before it can be detected but I'm so anxious the wait is killing me. I had been taking folic acid this month but I've not taken it today incase that's messed my cycles up! Fingers crossed x

@Wondergirl1111 I'm also 34 and I think I was feeling the push because DD is 11 now! We were meant to get married last year but covid had other plans, and we figured our reproductive systems aren't gonna hang on so just decided to start now.

After my confusing day yday with my second positive opk, I've decided to just not test anymore and dtd every other day anyway. I'm trying to pretend I can be laid back about all this 😂😂😂

Loved reading through this thread and thought rather than scrolling, I’d just join!

This is our 4th month of ttc and I am currently 2dpo. We had a peak surge on opk and then cramps / back ache all day the day after. Keeping everything crossed that this is our month!

@BAR2 whooo - implantation cramps perhaps? Got everything crossed for you - keep us updated when you get nearer to taking that test! and a big welcome! When you had your peak surge had you been dtd before? How often? And did you dtd the day of peak surge too?
I'm 5 days away from my af so too early for cramps but keep kidding myself I might be feeling implantation cramps - even though we missed ovulation this cycle i think so the chances are verrryy slim...!

@Fifi1086 are you using clear blue digital opk with the smiley faces? I'm trying next cycle at the end of the month and am a bit nervous! I think as you say, best to use them as a guide but just relax back and dtd - that's the most we can do really!

@Aims1991 gahhh it's such a rollercoaster! I've read lots of experiences like this on these threads which have ended in BFP after lots of negatives - if you are very regular and never late then your body sounds like the best indicator! I really do have everything crossed for you and hope we get a lovely pic of a BFP on a test stick from you in the next couple of days!

Well only 2dpo so not implantation just yet but hoping the ovulation cramps were a good sign, who knows! DTD each day for 2 days before and then twice on the day of the surge and then did it each day for 2 days after.... so hoping that was enough...!

Did you dtd before / around when you should have ovulated as it might have captured something if you had sex within a few days either side?

Although this is our 4th month trying, I have no idea what my cycles are. I’ve had 1 natural period (and it was so pathetic I don’t think you could even class it as a period!) since coming off the pill in Sep.
I was advised to do OPK tests to see if I was ovulating without the periods and I’ve been doing them for about 4 weeks and then finally got the surge so praying something happens and if it doesn’t work this month, hopefully my body will be sorting itself out

@Wondergirl1111 yes I'm using the advanced cb digital obk and I had 4 days flashing faces, then got my peak, then 3 days later back 2 blank and straight to peak again! As if it's not confusing enough already. I've been very crampy since the first peak though and still am so I've no idea what's going on!

@Wondergirl1111 Hi! I am on CD30 and AF due Saturday but it rarely comes on time! I’m usually a few days to a week late which will drive me mad now we are TTC! I took a test at 10DPO which was negative so that was a disappointment but gotta keep going hey!

@Wondergirl1111 Our wedding got cancelled twice last year which was heartbreaking and after all the stress we have decided to not rearrange. I felt after that we started discussing babies and it was like a sudden switch went on. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I do also feel some pressure now I’m 31. I also have a few close friends and family struggling to conceive and I feel like that added pressure to me and made me think I should get started. As much as I want to be pregnant I still worry if having a baby now is the best time but then I can hear the clock ticking. Does anyone else feel like this or is it just me? 😬😂

@DeeDee2021 I totally feel the same. I worry about age, but I worry about money and covid too and whether I've travelled enough and how much of my independance I'll lose, but then I get so excited about pouring all my love into a little baby and watching it grow and helping it learn. I think it's a life experience like no other on earth - even though it looks bloody tough!
I think sometimes you have to just surrender to life - one door closes and another opens! Sorry to hear about your wedding! Must be SO frustrating but it's great you both have something new and positive to focus on!
I even started to worry today about whether my baby to be will be part of a covid baby boom and find it difficult to get s place at school lol.... extraaa!

@Dixie1488 keep going! we have everything crossed for you! Glad you feel supported - me too! It feels so good to actually talk about it - it feels weird for such a big life decision to be a secret!

@Fifi1086 so weird you got another peak after your surge? I have a feeling next cycle with those is going to be a bit of a confusing rollercoaster lol! Did your surge /peak correlate with any body indicators of ovulation - eg ewcm or ovulation cramps?

@BAR2 thanks for sharing that - i feel like it helps everytime to learn how it all works! I'm only really on my first cycle at the end of Jan, as we decided to start trying just after my ewcm appeared at the end of Dec - we DTD a couple of days later but I think we may have missed ovulation by a day - there's a chance i guess but it's slim!
Great that it sounds as though your cycles are becoming more regular after using opk after coming off the pill in sept - how long were you on it for? xx

@Wondergirl1111 I've had cramps since the first surge, and at the risk of TMI, it's hard to know if I'm getting any ewcm with all the DTD that's going on if you know what I mean 😂 just going to count this one as a practice run.

The other half said "that's it, I definitely impregnated you last night that was my A game" 😂😂😂 I was like ehhh you do know that my body has the main part to play in all this, not your 5 mins of glory 😂😂

The dreaded AF showed her face this morning. Going by my last 3 cycles since having my coil out I have a 26 day cycle and ovulate around day 11/12. I’m weirdly excited to properly try this month! With my 2 sons, I fell pregnant without trying or mapping (they are 11 and 13 now, and I had them in my early 20’s) I feel like a newbie first time mum! OH is giddy at the prospect of all the sex 🙄 I don’t think he’ll be so up for it when I ask him to shove a pillow under my bum and put the TV so I can let it do it’s thing. Not very sexy 🤣
EWCM, did you ever think you’d be openly talking about this stuff?! Or sperm for that fact. 🙈 So glad my OH doesn’t know about this forum, he wouldn’t go near me again!

AF is due today but no sign yet, although I'm not very regular so not surprised.

@Wondergirl1111 Sorry to hear about your MIL, my MIL and Mum have been begging for grandchildren but we keep telling them no! I married my OH last November (2019) and we were meant to go on a honeymoon to the Maldives (you can't TTC 3 months after being in the Maldives because of Zika virus) before we started thinking about babies but when that was cancelled 3 times, we thought, sod it! What are we waiting for? We can still go on a lovely holiday, perhaps a baby moon somewhere :) If Covid lets us that is! Anyone have any baby moon or safe-to-TTC holiday suggestions?

TMI Had a bit of spotting today, thought it looked a bit much so used a tampon. But removed it and nothing really there! AF was due Sunday and 3 negative tests. Does anyone think I should do another test? I done CB but I bought FR ones now

Hi @Aims1991 Oh I feel so bad for you, this uncertainty must be driving you a bit mad! (Well it would to me!). When did you last take one?

Looks like yesterday's opk positive was the accurate one as honestly feel awful today and got ewcm so I'm 1dpo. Feel like I've moved back 4 days 😂

@Dixie1488 monday was last time I done one as I was a day late then and it was a CB digital!
Got a first response to do tomorrow if AF isn't here still

@Aims1991 I have no idea! So far I have only taken one CB 10DPO.

Seems to be the case that the FR early response are best for early testing due to pink dye so less chance of evap lines!
