Hi there, starting treatment in next few months after 3 1/2 years of trying naturally. Anyone else starting IVF/ICSI in next few months? I have very low AMH so odds are very low x

@Furmummy you are allowed to be excited!! It's amazing! I know we are primed to expect the worse and of course we all know that there's a long way to go. But you've been on this journey a long time and you have a BFP! Let yourself enjoy it. At this point in time this is the best things could possibly be xxx

Furmummy · 31/03/2021 20:14

@Mrs32 yes they decided to put 2 back as I only got 1 follicle which somehow had 3 eggs in and 2 fertilised. They were concerned if I were to do it again I wouldn’t get any follicles as on max drugs .. so I have defied all my odds getting to this stage .. and if I am pregnant (day 9 tomorrow and the line tonight is big fat and red eeeeeeek) so looking likely .... my husband thinks I have taken the excitement out of it testing everyday - but I turned into a first response test monster 😂😂 how are you feeling? How are the injections?

@Janefx40 thank you .. your right I feel like I am am ready to enjoy it and be excited - never seen a positive test before so it’s very amazing for me. Have you heard from the clinic today? Hope everything is going to plan and will soon have the transfer xxxx

A big fat red positive line is so exciting OMG, you must be over the moon. Im super excited so i cant imagine how youll be feeling. Congratulations to you & your loved ones.
Your body has done amazingly, well done hun x

Mrs32 · 31/03/2021 22:25

First injections done, it was a bit of a palava but we got there in the end LOL
I couldn't inject & husband was freaking out bec he cant stand injections.
Im a little sore but i have tiny round lion plasters so i put 1 on my blood dots to make me feel better.

How did you girls feel after your injections? Any feelings in tummy?

Furmummy · 01/04/2021 10:47

@Mrs32 Awww it sounds like you had a similar experience to me .. I literally couldn’t stick it in my skin... I stopped trying and just made hubby do it .... the first few days my stomach was a bit sore and twingy .. but think it started to settle after that xxx

OP posts:
Mrs32 · 01/04/2021 12:11

@furmummy ah yeah same then bec hubby had to stick needle in and i then took over.
My injection site is a little sort, im feeling nauseous after having breakfast, i eat a nectrine and an Avocado with Pomegranate juice. Urgh my tummy is doing a churning motion and i feel like i need to puke after breakfast. Not sure if its the injections from last night or if its something else.

Did you ladies experience this?

Janefx40 · 01/04/2021 12:41

Hi Ladies

@Mrs32 I'm sorry you've found the injections difficult so far. You will get used to it I promise!! It's not my favourite thing but it doesn't bother me now at all.

I got some side effects in the first few days (in my case I had mood swings) but it passed and nothing since. Hopefully your nausea will settle.

Well done for getting the first injections done!!!

@Furmummy hope you're doing ok

I had transfer yesterday. Day 2 which felt a bit worrying but I agree it's the best thing. My clinic were always going to put 3 back in (because of my age) and since we only had 3 left there was no point waiting. The only reason they would wait would be to select the best ones. Am feeling quite negative. I stupidly read a statistic today that said at age 44 only 2 in 100 women will get pregnant. I know our odds are rubbish and have been quite realistic about it but obviously I want it to work.

Otherwise I am ok xxx

Furmummy · 01/04/2021 20:57

@Janefx40 oooo how exciting ... it’s so lovely thinking they are back inside you .. have everything crossed for you... I was talking to a friend who went through it at 45 and was successful .. remember every situation is individual and statistics don’t always mean everything .. sending you lots of positive thoughts xxx rest up and hope your managing the progesterone ok ... the first week it made me feel funny but that’s totally settled down now ... xx

@Mrs32 I did mine on the morning as the clinic said choose a time that suits you ... i can’t remember exactly but I l definitely had a few queasy days and felt really tired .. luckily not working at the moment so spent a lot of time in bed sleeping and eating 🤦‍♀️ When’s your first scan? X

Hi @Furmummy I'm good thanks. How are you? How is your line?? Not long now until your official test day. Will they blood test you or just a home test? So exciting!!

Nothing going on here. Just trying to be relaxed and trying to make myself believe something is going on in there. Just had a chat to DP and we agreed we will try again if this is negative. We may give it one more shot or maybe 2 more but then we stop.

@Mrs32 how are you? Getting used to it all?

Anyone have any nice Easter plans?

Xxx

Furmummy · 03/04/2021 14:37

@Janefx40 I’ve had a digital 1-2 week clear blue test and my husband is now making me step away from the tests 🤦‍♀️ Official test is Wednesday and just a pregnancy test and I call the clinic to advise. I don’t have any symptoms as such .. I did earlier but think that was the progesterone and now getting used to that.

The TWW is awful .. really thinking about you ... yes we have had similar conversations which i think is good to prepare you either way ... great news thought you had 3 eggs and have everything crossed for you xxx

I have a friend visiting today and lazy day tomorrow ... nothing much though .. experimenting with non alcohol gin and tonic 🤦‍♀️

Xxxx

@janefx40 thats the best place for them to be back inside you all snuggly and getting cosy. Im praying you get amazing results and soon too hunni.

Have some chocolate and chill with a blanket and have the fire on, youll feel good.

@furmummy LOL step away from the pee sticks. Tbh i would be the same, id be testing daily. I have lots of those bulk bought pregnancy test strips and a few digital.
Its just too exciting to not test. Youll have your test done at the hospital real soon and that will make things more official. How exciting

Mrs32 · 03/04/2021 14:47

Day 4 injections tonight. Ive had really bad nausea and tiredness. Cant get comfortable on my side when sleeping so feeling super tired. Im also feeling extra hungry and sick if i dont eat straight away which isnt fun. I was braising some onion in olive oil and of blimey the smell made me super nauseous urgh but its worth it in the end.

We are just staying in, going to have some lunch and relax on the sofa with a blanket.

Janefx40 · 03/04/2021 15:11

@Mrs32 ah sorry the side effects are still a bit much. What drugs are you on?

@Furmummy good idea to wait a couple of days now if you can. You are pregnant! Enjoy it

I'm not too bad at the moment but I will get increasingly more nuts as the 2WW progresses. It feels longer too because I had a day 2 transfer.

Had outdoor drinks with friends last night - it was so nice but so cold! Easter Monday we are meeting another friend which should be lovely too although if it's too cold it could be a bit miserable!

Xxx

Janefx40 · 03/04/2021 15:16

@Furmummy honestly I think symptoms are a bit of a myth for most women at this point. Obviously everyone is different but with IVF I think the massive dose of progesterone gives us most of what could be symptoms. I've been pregnant twice, chemical once and not pregnant lots of months and there honestly isn't much difference for me up until pregnancy test. Xxx

Furmummy · 04/04/2021 08:18

@Mrs32 a cozy lunch on the sofa sounds ideal ... I didn’t stop eating through the injections as felt queasy ... but after dieting for so long I have enjoyed every moment of every carb 😂

@Janefx40 yes the wait will feel even longer ... did your clinic say 2 weeks or 10 days? Awww nice to enjoy some catch up with friends snd take your mind off it xxx

@Furmummy my test day is 13th April so that is 15 days post EC or 13 days post-2 day transfer x

Janefx40 · 04/04/2021 13:50

Happy Easter folks 🐣💐

partystress · 04/04/2021 14:09

Not going through it with you, but just popping on with a positive story from when ICSI was still very new. My two ICSI DCs are now 20 and 17, the younger having been frozen for three years and popped back in when I was 41! Reading this thread it seems the knowledge of how to boost your chances of success has really moved on.

Wishing all of you the very best on your journeys.

Janefx40 · 06/04/2021 16:00

Thank you @partystress

Janefx40 · 06/04/2021 16:01

@Furmummy how are you feeling? Tomorrow is the big day! What tests are you going to use?

@Mrs32 how are you getting on? Have you had a scan yet?

X

Furmummy · 06/04/2021 18:33

@partystress that’s amazing - thank you for sharing

@Janefx40 hope you had a nice Easter ... I had been doing great till today where I have been in bed feeling really sick .. the thought of most food makes me feel sick .. tested yesterday and had stronger line than control one .. the clinic have given me one to do - not sure on the brand .. then I call them abs they book the scan. Starting to believe it now - especially after today ... how are you feeling? Are you back at work now? Xx

@Mrs32 hope all is going well with the injections xx

Janefx40 · 06/04/2021 22:08

@Furmummy I'm so excited for you. Your scan won't be too far away either. Do they scan at 6 or 7 weeks?

I'm off work this week. I stupidly took off the whole two week wait but will now be back to work before my test day. Would have been better to work I think (especially since I now work from home anyway so no running around) and then maybe take time off around test day. Anyway it is how it is!

Let us know how you get on x

Furmummy · 07/04/2021 06:34

I am having mini freak out .. so have tested with clear blue and first response and both tests super strong positive and very quick result .. I have tested with the clinic test which is sure screen and line is very faint! The test seems quite cheap looking .. I thought they were more sensible to hcg than a clear blue? Just seems a bit strange ... but the same wee has given me a strong positive on the other tests ....

Furmummy · 07/04/2021 06:35

Sensitive not sensible ..
