Hi there, starting treatment in next few months after 3 1/2 years of trying naturally. Anyone else starting IVF/ICSI in next few months? I have very low AMH so odds are very low x

3!!! That's amazing. How interesting that you had one less follicle than expected but one more egg. Well done super follicle.

Glad you feel ok. Rest up and fingers crossed for those little eggs and sperm

X

Furmummy · 20/03/2021 15:59

Thank you. - I know I didn’t even think that was possible .....

Hope your ok with the stims and having a nice relaxing weekend x

OP posts:
Janefx40 · 20/03/2021 17:51

Thanks @Furmummy yes stims are ok. I'm quite emotional and tired but less anxious than last time which is good. Been eating healthily overall but it was my birthday yesterday and have been sent loads of sweet treats by friends so undone all my good work with a massive sugar binge!

Furmummy · 21/03/2021 10:05

I found the first four days I was more emotional but started to settle a bit after then .. ooooo enjoy yourself .. I have not stopped eating through the process as decided I have given up caffeine and wine so am eating lots of treats! Enjoy ...

We had call from embryologist this morning, 2 were mature enough and both have fertilised ... depending on how things progress maybe looking at implantation on Tuesday or Thursday xxx

OP posts:
Janefx40 · 21/03/2021 10:46

2 fertilised is fantastic! Oh fingers crossed for Tuesday or Thursday. Will they update you again tomorrow or do you just wait for a call on Tuesday?

X

Furmummy · 21/03/2021 12:39

Yep am amazed as our odds so low .They said would call me tomorrow if it’s going to be Tuesday, or call me Wednesday if going to be Thursday ... am shafted now just had a 2 hour nap! It’s emotionally exhausting isn’t it. X

@furmummy wow hunni thats great news, im so excited for you. Praying all goes well and you have 2 healthy amazing embryos to choose from for your transfer.
Sending you lots of baby dust xXx

Mrs32 · 22/03/2021 09:13

@janefx40 happy belated birthday hun, hope you had a lovely day and was spoilt lots and lots with gifts and cakes.
Embryoscope is where they keep the eggs under a microscope and incubator at the same time
We are paying £390 on the nhs for this added extra. Their studies show a 10% increase in sucess rates as the embryos arent moved from incubator to be checked under the microscope.
Hope that makes sense hun.

Youre doing really well with your injections, keep on pushing and before you know it, it'll be time for egg collection x

Janefx40 · 22/03/2021 12:11

@Mrs32 that's really interesting. I would definitely pay for that if it was on offer. Not long now until you start

Had a scan today. All looking ok especially considering my age. The more the better at my age as at 44 80% plus won't be viable - although of course we may get lucky - you never know which one is the good one!

Mrs32 · 22/03/2021 22:42

@janefx40 thats so true, it only takes 1 egg and the Drs are really good at looking after us. Im so happy your scan went well, was it your CD1 scan - 1st day of your period and then you start injections? My P is due 31st ish March urgh it cant come fast enough 😫
Its definitely worth it bec the chances for my age range increase by just over 10% so definitely worth looking into your clinics sucess rates for the embryoscope.

Mrs32 · 22/03/2021 22:44

@janefx40 urgh sorry i forgot youve started injections- are you on a fresh cycle or frozen? Whens egg retrieval possibly for you?

Janefx40 · 23/03/2021 06:07

@Mrs32 yesterday was day 5. My clinic don't do embyoscopes. This is a fresh cycle. They don't tell you when EC is in advance but any time from Friday to Monday I should say

Xxx

Furmummy · 23/03/2021 10:30

That’s all very exciting - will be thinking about you this week. Hope all goes well with your scans and transfer

Mrs32 ooo that’s not long - are you on short or long protocol .. thinking about you

Clinic just rang, I have 1 good and 1 medium and they are putting them both in this afternoon ... so quite nervous and excited now x

Janefx40 · 23/03/2021 22:36

@Furmummy I can't believe I just saw this! Congratulations!!! You had your transfer! How did it go ? How do you feel? Tell us everything!

So glad they decided to transfer them today. Better to get them into your uterus sooner rather than later.

Have you heard of the expression Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise or PUPO? It's an expression used a lot on these threads. It's not a concept that everyone clicks with to but a lot of women really find it a useful way of framing things...and exciting too. So if that is a thought you like then congrats on being PUPO!!

I have another scan tomorrow morning. Last scan showed 6 good follicles and 4 smaller ones overall. We'll know more tomorrow about whether they are all still in the running. We then have to decide whether to pay the (massive) deposit for PGT A testing. We want to do a fresh transfer but test anything that is left over for freezing - we are very unlikely to have anything left so it is a total gamble. Have decided that if it's possible we will get 8 or more eggs then we're paying the deposit. So all depends on tomorrow's scan xxx

Janefx40 · 23/03/2021 22:40

@Furmummy I hope it's ok me sharing that about follicles. I had held off before you had your transfer - it doesn't mean anything anyway as it's all about quality but I know that hearing other people's' numbers isn't always helpful when you are feeling anxious about your own. But hopefully now you have had your transfer it's ok to share x

Furmummy · 24/03/2021 05:48

Thank you for your support - yes I have no problems at all sharing as 1 folicle, 3 eggs, 2 mature enough, both fertilised and both transferred has defied all my odds .. I was only ever given 5% chance so I hope that gives people comfort going through the process.

PUPO is brilliant - I am going to follow those positive thoughts ... I think my husband thought I was a bit crackers when I made him say goodnight to my tummy haha

Transfer was quick and easy and as described no worse than a smear test .. husband came in the room . Tbh I don’t think there was a great deal to see on the screen, and was over within 5 mins. Currently on the pessaries and they have asked my to test on 7/4 .. so that’s two weeks today .. husband keeps telling me I shouldn’t test earlier but that is going to be hard ...

I hope everything goes well with your scan, that’s great having 6 good size follicles .. you maybe looking at the end of the week then I wonder? Eeeeek very exciting ...

Where the PGT testing? Xx

OP posts:
Janefx40 · 24/03/2021 10:37

@Furmummy oh I'm glad you're feeling good. It is so exciting. I don't want to be a bad influence but my clinic set their official test day at 15 days post egg collection which I think takes you to 4th April. When I did my NHS cycle it was 16 days post EC and I tested one day early figuring it was just the same as my private clinic anyway. For my FET last year I tested a day earlier again! But then just freaked myself out about the line not being very strong!!!

I'm not generally an early tester but I think there comes a point where I just need to know.

Enjoy this first week. I find that I get increasingly anxious as I get nearer the test date so relax for now!!

Scan this morning was mixed. The 6 follicles are doing well but she didn't think the other 4 were doing much. So I haven't put down the deposit for PGT as we won't have anything to test with 6. My clinic will transfer 3 fresh so we would need at least 4 to have something to test and I don't think that is likely to happen. I know it must sound weird as anything is a bonus but I really want to avoid having something untested in the freezer. At my age I just I don't want to do a FET of an embryo if we could have already known it would fail.

So many decisions !

Jms28 · 25/03/2021 22:21

Hey,
I’m also at CRM and starting IVF ICSI in May/June - I just wondered if you were given your medication at your nurses appointment? Or just a prescription to then get at a later date?

Jms28 · 25/03/2021 22:22

@Furmummy sorry meant to tag you in my qn ☺️

Jms28 · 25/03/2021 22:32

Hey, I’m at CRM and my info appointment isn’t until end of May, which feels forever away. How often did you ring to get a cancellation? Thanks so much

Furmummy · 26/03/2021 06:48

How are you feeling? When is your collection? Hope all goes well .. I don’t know about PGT .. will have to have a read .. fingers crossed for your follicles and collection, 6 is a good number so I hope everything goes well.

I have had weird few days, felt awful but think it’s the pessaries, I felt sick and in sweats but that seems to have settled, could have killed my husband yesterday for him just breathing .. then got really anxious that I have prevented it working by getting so stressed 🤦‍♀️ Hormones are awful things!! So hoping for a more positive day today,

I will try not to test till the day but I may change my mind as already impatient ..

Hope everything goes well with the collection xxxxx

Hellooo there ..

I think you have misread as am not with CRM .. think that is someone else in the group. In regards to medication I got mine delivered a few weeks before starting. Every clinic is different with appointments so not sure. Hopefully may/June comes round quick for you .. I tried to use the time to get used to cutting out caffeine and wine and getting in a healthy mind before starting x

Furmummy · 26/03/2021 06:56

Just had a look at PGT testing .., That’s interesting as me and hubby were talking about that due to age if it were positive and would we be able to get testing done, didn’t realise they did this so early on .. fascinating everything then can do these days x

Janefx40 · 26/03/2021 16:03

@Furmummy sorry you've been feeling crap. Hopefully just a reaction to the meds.

Don't stress about the stress. That is always my number one tip for women starting IVF. People always say not to stress but no woman doing IVF has ever not been stressed and it still works a hell of a lot. Women get pregnant in war zones so you being anxious is not going to have made a difference. The cycle I got pregnant with my DD, I was literally off the scale with stress. Don't beat yourself up for that - it won't make a difference to the outcome.

yes so with PGT you have to test then freeze and then do a frozen transfer. For us tho we are going to just test any extra embryos. Haven't signed up tho so reckon we won't be doing it.

I'm day 9. The 6 are still looking good but they want to keep going for a few more days to see if any others catch up. I'm off work now for 2 weeks so at least I don't have to juggle quite as much

@Jms28 good luck in May. I'm afraid I don't know about CRM but when I did my NHS cycle my meds got sent by post in advance. Not that much in advance - I remember chasing the couriers!! But soon enough.

X

Furmummy · 26/03/2021 18:01

Thank you .. I think so .. it’s only fair I think as I sailed through the first part with no side affects haha .. hoping I am starting to get used to them and will start to settle ... my poor hubby tho 🤦‍♀️

Thank you that’s made me feel a lot better and very true ... I think it just makes you realise how much you want it ...

Ah that’s brilliant and perfect timing to have the 2 weeks off ... gives you time to look after yourself and relax .. have they booked you in for next week, hope all goes well. Hope you have a nice weekend .. looks like the sun is shining and with clocks changing too makes everything feel a bit better x
