Hi! So I'm currently
Trying for 1st baby
Cycle 9 of trying
Cycle day 78
8 DPO
Had a chemical pregnancy in August

So I'm cycle day 78, my periods are extremely irregular but so far this is my longest cycle I've ever had! But finally I got a positive OPK, I'm 8DPO at the moment and I know period and pregnancy symptoms are pretty much the same but I'm experiencing some things I never normally get leading up to Aunt Flo, so far the symptoms I've noticed are

5DPO - couldn't stop crying!
6DPO - Boobs slightly sore at times, extremely hungry like all the time non stop!
7DPO - Boobs slightly sore but nothing too much, extremely hungry still, frequent urination, a whole night of vivid dreams.
8DPO - Boobs are bigger, more veiny, sore and my nipples are so so sensitive and my back aches today and I'm also getting a mix of small twinges on my right side and every so often I feel a small shock? (google says it's lightning crotch??) also very emotional today and i fell asleep at 2am this morning and I woke up at 6am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep but still really tired (which is really odd for me because I usually fall asleep really early in the morn then wake up at like 11am) I also treated myself to McDonald's as I was awake early enough to order it for once 😂 and I struggled to eat it like I just smelt it and was like... ew... 😂

Anyone else experienced anything like this before getting your BFP??
I'm not testing until NYE which will be 10 DPO for me!

Any help or answers are appreciated 🥰

Hi @OnMyJourney,
I'm 7 DPO today and have a 30 day cycle , my nipples feel like they've had carpet burn and I'm having trouble sleeping at night when I'm really tired. I'm hoping these are all good signs. I've been trying since January 2020 and have had 2 miscarriages in that time. This will be my first baby if there is something in there

OnMyJourney · 29/12/2020 22:27

@Trying4baby2021
So sorry to hear about your miscarriages.
I feel the same struggling to sleep and then waking up early! We've been trying since Nov 2019 with no luck! I've only had 9 cycles as I'm so irregular so I don't get a chance every month! It's so frustrating! But hopefully this does mean something!

Hi
I'll be 10dpo on nye too!
I am desperate to test!

Sounds like you've had lots of symptoms so my fingers are crossed for you!

OnMyJourney · 29/12/2020 23:00

@timeforanother1
Ahh I don't wanna wait that long either! I keep changing my mind! I kind of want to see the lines get darker but I also don't want to disappoint myself either! And thank you, my fingers are crossed for you too! Hopefully we'll both be starting 2021 pregnant! X

Just to update in case anyone wants to know!
So far
9DPO- Really sore boobs, really hungry, struggling to sleep.
10DPO- Really sore boobs, Period like cramps now and then.
11DPO- Extremely sore boobs, period like cramps now and then.

So far no positive pregnancy tests but I'm going to wait for a missed period so HCG has a chance to rise! So 5th Jan hopefully 🤞xx

Fingers crossed for us both still!

Hi op, have you spoken to your doctor about your long cycles? I was having long and irregular cycles. Tested for PCOS but showed low testosterone so it was ruled out. My GP offered to try me on Metformin as it can help to regulate cycles. Started Metformin six weeks ago and two weeks later I had a period after a ten week long cycle. Yesterday was day 29 of my cycle and I wanted to check I was okay to have some drinks last night. I got the shock of my life when the test came back positive and even took five different brands just to confirm! Absolutely wasn't expecting it after such long cycles previously but it's definitely worth a chat with your doctor if it hasn't happened for you this month.
In terms of symptoms, most cycles I have every symptom going but I'm never pregnant. The only thing I've noticed are awful night sweats the past few nights but didn't even consider that being a pregnancy symptom until after my BFP. You just don't know with pregnancy symptoms as I think the mind can play tricks on you when you're looking for things. Best of luck to you all.

OnMyJourney · 01/01/2021 21:55

Hi @InTheCovidGarden
Congratulations on your BFP!!
I did speak to my GP about 2 months after we starting ttc and his recommendation was for me to go on the birth control pill to try and make my periods more regular but I told him I was TTC and he basically said I should take it for a few months then come off of it and my periods would even out and I wasn't really liking that idea as when I was younger the pill never reacted well with me! and then when I had my chemical in August I went for my ultrasound still as advised by my midwife as my last period was may and she was worried and the sonographer said she saw polycystic eggs in my left ovary and my right ovary couldn't be located and she said I displayed other symptoms of PCOS so I went back to my GP and explained what I had been told and his suggestion after that diet and exercise and the pill again, i refused the pill again and I already exercise and am on a diet so at the moment I've got my fingers crossed for this cycle and if not then I might see a different GP! The most regular cycles I've had is Jan and Feb 2019 my periods were 33 days each I finally thought they were become regular but apparently not! But thank you for your post I might ask my next GP about medications to try and help! Xx

@timeforanother1

Not ruled out until AF shows up!! I have period type cramps but I'm hoping it's implantation (Probably not but gotta have some hope 🤷‍♀️😂) as it's early and I never get cramps until the day she shows up!! Xx

@OnMyJourney wham I was pregnant with my dc I had period cramps like you describe so hoping and praying for you x

OnMyJourney · 02/01/2021 14:25

@timeforanother1
I took a test this morning at 12DPO and it's still negative but I hopefully I'll miss my period and get a positive test at the end! I did get a lot of stringy/white CM this morning, I'm not sure if that means anything but the cramps have kind of calmed down now! Who knows, have you had any changes yet? Xx

@OnMyJourney
Hey!

I have ALL the same symptoms! I came off the pill in November so it's very hard to know if my period is "late" or just I have a longer cycle. I done a test a couple of days ago which was negative so trying again in a few days as could be too early... But I feel awful and I just know something isn't right!
Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

timeforanother1 · 02/01/2021 16:11

@OnMyJourney I got another negative Sad but crossing fingers still although I am getting the usual af cramps so I don't think I am pregnant.

Feel quite gutted really. I don't know how all these women trying for months/ years cope. They are so strong.

OnMyJourney · 02/01/2021 16:38

@emilyylouise
Hi!

I'm hoping that all these symptoms mean something good! I feel like something is different too! I'm hoping you get your BFP soon! I'm 12DPO so I'm going to wait until Tuesday and test again! By then I should have a period or a positive! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!! 🤞🤞xx

OP posts:
OnMyJourney · 02/01/2021 16:44

@timeforanother1

I got another negative too on a first response test! But I had period type cramps for the last couple of days but today they've not really happened, but still no period! So don't rule yourself out yet, some people don't get a positive until 15DPO+ I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞

OP posts:
emilyylouise · 02/01/2021 18:21

I used a first response test as well! But came back negative 😓 I will be trying again end of next week as it's hard to not get obsessed with testing lol!
My nipples are so so sore like the below comment "carpet burn" it exactly how to describe it 🤣. If I am pregnant this would be my 1st so I'm not really sure what early pregnancy symptoms are I just know I don't feel right.
Hope everyone gets the positive they want ❤️🤞🏻

OnMyJourney · 02/01/2021 19:07

@emilyylouise

It's so hard not to test! I keep taking ovulation tests just to stop myself taking pregnancy tests 😂 it would be my first too, I had a chemical pregnancy in August but I didn't really have many symptoms so I'm not sure what to expect either so I keep searching everyone else's Mumsnet posts to see if my symptoms are the same! 😂 I can't say my nipples have a carpet burn feeling but my boobs are a lot more sore then usual! But like they say everyone experiences it differently! Xx

emilyylouise · 02/01/2021 19:12

@OnMyJourney

My partner keeps telling me "what are you doing on your phone all this time" Im like oh nothing... LOL I'm constantly on this app finding out other people's symptoms etc 🤣🤣 it's making me go crazzzyyyy!
I have just bought some ovulation tests so hopefully that will stop me constantly wanting to test 🙈

OnMyJourney · 02/01/2021 19:37

@emilyylouise

My Other half is always wondering when I'm gonna stop looking and pay him some attention 😂 I search all the websites and all the apps... it's so bad 😂😂 ovulation tests are good cause if this cycle doesn't happen for you at least you have them for next cycle and they can also detect HCG too! That's how I found out I was pregnant last time, I took a ovulation test (have no idea why) and the test line was darker then the control line and I was like huh and googled if you could ovulate twice in a month and I saw something about how they pick up traces of HCG and I was like omg and I ran out to get a pregnancy test and it was positive but that day I also started bleeding so I got excited for nothing lol xx

timeforanother1 · 02/01/2021 22:32

@OnMyJourney @emilyylouise
How long have you both been trying?

I have 1 dc and had no idea I was pregnant as I had no different symptoms at all compared to the usual pms ones! And even though I say that I still google everything I feel my body doing!

This is our second month and I think I'll use opk's from next month so I can be sure we dtd at the right times!

emilyylouise · 02/01/2021 22:36

@timeforanother1

We haven't actively been "trying" as such.. I told my oh that I am coming off the pill as I have been on it for 8 years and it was really effecting my mental health and that it would be up to him if he wanted to use contraception. We would both be very happy if it happened but also happy if we had to wait a little while 😊

OnMyJourney · 02/01/2021 23:37

@timeforanother1
I've been trying since Nov 2019 and ovulation tests have definitely been worth it as my cycles are so long I could ovulate any time and I found the best brand are fermometer and one step (both found on Amazon) I also wouldn't recommend the Clearblue digital ovulation tests as their results are really inaccurate and they do become really expensive xx

OP posts:
timeforanother1 · 03/01/2021 09:56

@emilyylouise sounds like a plan! Being relaxed is the best way to be.
How did the pill affect you? It made me a psycho or an emotional wreck lol so I had a coil for afew years.

@OnMyJourney I really hope this month is successful for you, that's quite a while do you feel stressed about it much/ at all? Long cycles must be a pain.
Since having my dc 3 years ago my periods stopped for about 6 months as I was ebf then they've been all over the place.
That's what's making me want to use opk's as at least then I'll be trying at the right time. I brought them when ttc my dc but didn't use them as we were very lucky to get pregnant first try using just the apps as a guide for my fertile window.

I've not tested (yet) today.
I keep getting an odd pain in my lower stomach just round from my hip- I hope it's meaning something positive!

emilyylouise · 03/01/2021 10:01

@timeforanother1
Yep me too! I have been on 3 different pills in 8 years and it got to the point where I thought I need to give my body a rest! I was so snappy and just miserable all the time!
I couldn't get to sleep last night till 3am and this morning I am very nauseous so fingers crossed in a weeks time I get a positive 🤞🏻

timeforanother1 · 03/01/2021 10:06

@emilyylouise oh wow fingers are tightly crossed!!!!!

Did you dtd much in your fertile window?

We managed 3-4 times and I did the pillow under bum/ legs up after lol 😂

Are you both taking ttc vits too?
