Pregnancy or period symptoms? 2ww

OnMyJourney · 29/12/2020 20:52

Hi! So I'm currently
Trying for 1st baby
Cycle 9 of trying
Cycle day 78
8 DPO
Had a chemical pregnancy in August

So I'm cycle day 78, my periods are extremely irregular but so far this is my longest cycle I've ever had! But finally I got a positive OPK, I'm 8DPO at the moment and I know period and pregnancy symptoms are pretty much the same but I'm experiencing some things I never normally get leading up to Aunt Flo, so far the symptoms I've noticed are

5DPO - couldn't stop crying!
6DPO - Boobs slightly sore at times, extremely hungry like all the time non stop!
7DPO - Boobs slightly sore but nothing too much, extremely hungry still, frequent urination, a whole night of vivid dreams.
8DPO - Boobs are bigger, more veiny, sore and my nipples are so so sensitive and my back aches today and I'm also getting a mix of small twinges on my right side and every so often I feel a small shock? (google says it's lightning crotch??) also very emotional today and i fell asleep at 2am this morning and I woke up at 6am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep but still really tired (which is really odd for me because I usually fall asleep really early in the morn then wake up at like 11am) I also treated myself to McDonald's as I was awake early enough to order it for once 😂 and I struggled to eat it like I just smelt it and was like... ew... 😂

Anyone else experienced anything like this before getting your BFP??
I'm not testing until NYE which will be 10 DPO for me!

Any help or answers are appreciated 🥰

Omg I'm fuming!

I've just written a massive reply to you both and it's said I need to log in and lost my entire message Angry

timeforanother1 · 26/01/2021 22:10

Sorry ladies I can't write it all again now 😢

In a short version I hope you both get your bfp's this cycle!

I'm testing tomorrow- nervous/ excited!

Stupidly I did one yesterday - of course a bfn lol!

OnMyJourney · 26/01/2021 23:47

@timeforanother1

Oh no that is annoying! But it's okay!

It's negative at the moment but who knows what it's going to be tomorrow! You're not out of the game until Aunt Flo shows up! Keeping my fingers crossed!! 🤞🤞

Hopefully be buying baby stuff instead of Preseed!!!

The little cheap strip tests aren't always great at detecting small amounts of HCG though so maybe it was just too early for them to catch it! That's the hope anyways!

I'm 5 DPO today I feel like it's going really quickly! I haven't particularly felt any symptoms, boobs are a tad sensitive but I've learnt from last cycle that could mean nothing so who knows 🤷‍♀️ but luckily I've got a normal (ish) sleep pattern back because I feel exhausted! And I'm not as hungry as I normally am! So at this point I have no idea! But it's a tad too early for symptoms! So I'll wait until 7DPO and then maybe symptom spot properly 😂

Good luck for tomorrow! Let me know how it goes!! 🤞🤞xx

Bfn!

Gutted! You're so right not to symptom spot we've said this so many times! 🙈
Its a test that works 6 days early and af is due Saturday so at least I know and won't keep testing now.

Glad it's going quick for you too 😊 I think being busy is key.

You've done loads to adjust its good your sleep is getting better. I think I need to make changes now and sort out my eating habits!

Oh and in the disappearing message I had said I know someone with pcos with 2 kids 😊

Delilah221 · 27/01/2021 10:51

@timeforanother1 - Hiya! That’s so frustrating about the message disappearing. I did that before and I wrote out responses to a few people and I went onto the next page to see the last message and it just deleted my entire message! I feel your pain! Lol.

Sorry to hear about your BFN, fingers crossed for your next cycle! 🤞🏻

I’m feeling a bit crappy this week, I was so adamant with myself I’d stop the drinking and takeaways etc but to be honest, since the start of Jan nothings really changed! 🙄 I’m really struggling with this lockdown!

@OnMyJourney - so glad the 2ww is going quick for you! It’s so hard not to symptom spot! But I’ve learnt from my last overload of symptoms to try and not let that convince me otherwise 🙈 although I still have sore boobs!! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope you both have a good day 🥰

OnMyJourney · 27/01/2021 12:22

@timeforanother1

Aww no I'm sorry! Hopefully next cycle will be your cycle!

And I will say I feel so much better after sorting out my eating habits! I cut out too much sugar, stopped drinking cocktails 🥲, ate things with less fat and no processed foods! More veg with meals and I ate a lot of spices and herbs that are supposed to control your hormones and make them steady! Apparently cinnamon is great when ttc so I just had cinnamon porridge or pancakes every morning and made it with almond milk because apparently too much dairy can affect ttc too and I also cut out gluten or if I ate gluten I would eat whole meal stuff! could be a load of rubbish but it made me feel better physically! 🤷‍♀️ and the raspberry leaf tea is supposed to be good for your cervix! And then the last thing I took was the evening primrose oil! And after taking it this cycle, I'll never go back I feel like it helped so much! It increased my EWCM by loads and I had it for days over my ovulation week!

Yeahhh that's it I know a few people with pcos and kids so I don't overly let it bother me, I know it's possible, even if eventually I might need a little help! And if no medications work then I'll try IVF but I think I'm a while away from that at the moment! 😊

I'm sorry about your BFN! I really hope the next cycle is the lucky cycle xx

@Delilah221

Yeah it's deffo going really quickly! 6DPO today and I'm not doing too much symptom spotting, this cycle I'm really trying not to get my hopes up, but only a few more days and then I'll find out!! 🤞

Hope you have a good day toooo! Xx

@OnMyJourney - It's so true how much food can change your health/physical side effects. I've seen so many documentaries on how people have actually reversed health conditions purely from diet! I find it fascinating haha.

It's also interesting that it's sugar that can cause the weight gain, not actually fat. (Saturated fat of course is different) But eating like nuts/seeds/avocado etc is really beneficial! But all these 'diet' foods and 'sugar free' foods are actually really bad for you.

Sorry - bit of a geeky rant there haha.

Ooo that's really interesting about the raspberry leaf tea, I've seen it on some other threads. Can you get it from the shop or does it need to be a chemist/order it online? Same with the primrose oil, I'd like to give them both a try!

I do feel so much better once i eat better, but with this lockdown I'm really struggling and all i want is chocolate and wine! lol.

On a good day this is my food:
Breakfast- Greek yoghurt, with fruit. Topped with honey and mixed nuts and seeds. (Or scrambled egg on a slice of brown toast)
Lunch- Chicken and Veg. (Or variations of meat and veg lol)
Dinner- A generic evening meal such as a tray bake, sausage casserole etc.

No idea what else to do with food. I just need to start getting some exercise in! I can't have too much milk, but i LOVE cheese haha.

Aww i have my fingers crossed for you!! xx

OnMyJourney · 27/01/2021 20:28

@Delilah221

Absolutely food works in weird ways! I don't eat the sugar free foods, I eat stuff that just doesn't have a high sugar content or is naturally sugar free or it has natural sugars!

That food sounds really good! That's along the lines of what I eat too!!

I also love cheese and milk! But I try to reduce the amount I eat which is like real sad

OP posts:
OnMyJourney · 27/01/2021 20:31

@Delilah221

Oops didn't mean to post that yet haha

Lockdown is hitting me hard too I divert to unhealthy every so often but then reality hits and I'm just like ughhh, back to vegetables!!

But Raspberry Leaf tea can be found at most Supermarkets or if not Holland & Barrett sell it too! I bought my Evening primrose oil from Savers! But I know you can also find it at Holland & Barrett or supermarkets! Should deffo try them it's worth it! Xx

@Delilah221
@OnMyJourney

Sounds like you eat so healthy! Mine is some kind of pastry/ biscuits for breakfast, lunch usually sandwiches crisps and chocolate and mostly healthy dinners with veg and then donuts or chocolate type food of an evening!

Well tonight my tender boobs made me get that test out the (clean) 😂 bathroom bin and I'm sure I can see a very very faint line 😱 can you?
I'm totally ok with you saying I'm just seeing things ha ha so don't worry about being nice lol! 😝
I've got no more tests I'll order one to come in the weekend shopping for if af doesn't come.

Pregnancy or period symptoms? 2ww
Delilah221 · 27/01/2021 20:50

@OnMyJourney - it’s so odd! But so interesting to read about lol.

I used to eat so many “diet” or “sugar free” stuff thinking I was being super healthy 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄 I just try to focus on what I’m eating rather than the calories. Which is difficult but way better for nutrition.

Yea lockdown is not good lol. I’ll have to have a look and see if I can get some! Thanks 😊

@timeforanother1 - ah I’d much rather eat that!! But just looking at donuts I gain weight haha. I’m so so worried about my weight, my BMI is over 40 😳😔

I really really want to agree, but I’m so sorry to be the arsehole and say it looks like an Evap line 😕 They show up way after you take the test it’s just we’re the ink dries. BUT, you’re not out til AF arrives so maybe take another tomorrow?!

I just don’t want to give you false hope as it I feel like it makes it worse if you get your hopes up more 😔

Sorry I feel like a right arse!

timeforanother1 · 27/01/2021 21:09

@Delilah221 ha ha no seriously I'd rather honesty and glad you said that as I was questioning if I'd looked right the first time!

Also stops my head in the clouds believing I am which I think is more draining and a bigger fall when af comes along!

It's just so annoying how my boobs are, are yours still really sensitive?

Delilah221 · 27/01/2021 21:23

I’m glad you agree! I’m sorry, it’s just after my headache if it all, which I’m assuming was now a false positive! I googled/asked on here and so many people were saying oh it’s too early I think you are gunna get your BFP and that made it worst when I actually got a BFN the next day 🙄😕

So I think as shitty as it can be id rather be honest and then at least you’ll be happy if I’m wrong haha not pissed off that I got your hopes up more! Hope that makes sense 🙈

Ahh my boobs are so so sore but I’ve been relying on my clue app this entire time to predict everything and I just clocked that it out my ovulation day 2 days after my ‘period’ (2 days spotting, 2 days realllly light bleed, 1 more day spotting) and I thought surely that’s too early! But it’s because I did an OPK that was positive and I added that into the app which then caused it to predict that!! So I’ve just removed the ovulation test info from there and it’s all jumped around again and saying AF is expected in 10 days time! Which would make a 30 day cycle... which makes a lot more sense! And alsooo it’s looking as though I may have actually ovulated at a much different time so my heads now all over the place again!!! So confused 😫😫

timeforanother1 · 27/01/2021 22:21

I have heard the opk's can read different surges throughout the cycle wonder if it's that?

Just monitor- I was on the pill for about 15 years before coming off it to ttc and I got pregnant first try which was a massive shock! So although the pill can unsettle some women's cycles others will get a bfp earlier on 😊

I'm going to use that app next cycle and get some preseed or conceive plus.

OnMyJourney · 27/01/2021 22:22

@timeforanother1

I only see an evap line unfortunately ☹️ I'm sorry! But I'm still hopeful you'll get a clear positive when you get more tests!! I'm sorry 🤞🤞🤞xx

@Delilah221

Oh dear that is rather confusing!! That's the reason why I switched from clue to Femometer because clue also did this to me! Not a great app for ttc! But how often have you been DTD? Did you do it around ovulation or what you think may have been ovulation? Xx

OP posts:
Delilah221 · 27/01/2021 22:48

@timeforanother1 - well after some further research, it’s looking as though the asda home brand tests are super crap and giving people false positives on both ovulation and pregnancy tests! Which may very well explain the positive I got on the asda pregnancy test!! 😫😫

Well this is the thing, I did some research on here before we were even talking about TTC and loads of people said that with the mini pill they conceived quite quickly, and within around 3 months so I was like ah cool that should be fine then, because I was really worried that I’d messed up my body with being on normal contraceptive for 10 years!

@OnMyJourney - I know, I blame the dodgy OPK though to be fair because when I removed that input of data it went into some normality of cycle!
Fortunately we DTD around both predicted ovulation days so fingers crossed we’re covered lol but this now puts me at 4DPO, so I feel like I’m starting another 2ww straight away lol!

I really hope we all get out BFP soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🥰🥰

OnMyJourney · 27/01/2021 23:31

@timeforanother1

I think OPK's can catch different surges! I've read this before!

Deffo worth trying pre seed! I've tried conceive plus and it's got a horrible texture so I only ever used it once! But hopefully preseed is better!!

@Delilah221

Yeah I've heard some supermarket brands aren't great and can give you false positives and I've also heard the same with blue dye tests being bad for false positives! I think it's better to stay with the well known brands! Like Clearblue, first response, Premom, one step, Femometer, wandfo and all the others! I've tried the Tesco ones and got false positives off them too!!

But either way my fingers are crossed that either of those ovulation days get you your BFP!!

Have you tried looking for other ways to know if your ovulating like BBT, CM or Cervical position? I try to use all of these! You never know what might help you 🥰

@Delilah221 @timeforanother1

Hey! How're you both feeling today? Any updates on this cycle?

I'm 9DPO now and I've got sensitive boobs, shortness of breath and also a real stuffy nose and can't sleep! My temp is also slightly higher than usual (only 36.8 so not fever but higher then normal for me), I have absolutely no idea if any of these things mean anything at all, I did a test and never got the chance to read it as I had my partners niece banging on the door saying she's hungry 😅 but it didn't show a line from what I looked at but maybe it's still too early?? I'm not sure!

But how are you guys! I'm hoping to hear some good news! 🥰🥰

OP posts:
georgarina · 30/01/2021 04:20

Hey, I'm 12 weeks into my fifth pregnancy and with the first four I knew in the 2ww - I had fluttery cramping and breast pain, congestion, just always felt pregnant very early. The fifth, NO clue - actually refused to test until AF was a few days late because I was so sure it was coming. No soreness, no symptoms, cramps just like AF was coming.

It's so hard to wait but I guess you just never know!

georgarina · 30/01/2021 04:21

*And good luck!

Delilah221 · 30/01/2021 09:03

@OnMyJourney sorry I thought I’d replied on here!

I’m doing ok, very irritable and snappy with OH but I’m not used to AF haha. 10 years without her!
But I’m happy that she’s finally here and it seems to be a proper one, as I was worrying about having light periods. But fingers crossed this is my cycle getting back to some normality!

Ooo exciting times!! Yea it could still be too early! To be honest I feel a bit scared after my positive/negative tests I don’t really want to test again unless AF is late 😔

Oh but some good-ish news. My boobs have FINALLY stopped hurting 😂

Good luck! Keep us updated 🤞🏻🤞🏻

OnMyJourney · 30/01/2021 10:09

@georgarina

Congrats!!!

And thank you for your reply, that's what I've been hearing, you might know or you might not but only a pregnancy test will tell! The wait is so frustrating 🥲

OP posts:
OnMyJourney · 30/01/2021 10:12

@Delilah221

Well that's good! At least you're getting back to normality slightly! And seems like your boobs stopped hurting and mine started 😂😂

I've also had really weird dreams! Last night I had like 3/4 really strange dreams and I had a really stuffy nose for most of the night until my partner found me a nasal decongestant! I also got next to no sleep and neither did my partner (oops my fault) but it just was really strange! Who knows! I'm 9DPO am I supposed to be symptom spotting yet 😂😂

OP posts:
OnMyJourney · 31/01/2021 11:46

@timeforanother1 @Delilah221

How are you both?

I have a few new things! This morning I woke up to loads and i mean loads of EWCM! Very random! I thought I already ovulated!

And Last night I had these slight twinges hardly anything and no pain really but it felt like pulling/tugging and my boobs are slightly sore!!

Mood is good! Apart from i got a bit frustrated yesterday as my niece just wouldn't go to sleeeep! I wanted to cry! Could've been because I was exhausted but ehh who knows!!

What's going on with everyone else? 🥰

OP posts:
Delilah221 · 31/01/2021 11:51

@OnMyJourney

I’m doing ok thank you! AF is still here 🙄 so fingers crossed that’s a good sign!

Ooo really?! How many DPO are you now? Are you testing soon?!

I’ll be honest I still feel a bit taken a back by it all. As I was convinced I was pregnant with all the symptoms and it just got in my head too much😫

I think I’m going to try to “chill” next month lol. We have a lot going on so fortunately have the distraction next month as we’re hopefully moving in a few weeks!

Good luck and hope you get your BFP 🤞🏻🤞🏻
