Pregnancy or period symptoms? 2ww

Hi! So I'm currently
Trying for 1st baby
Cycle 9 of trying
Cycle day 78
8 DPO
Had a chemical pregnancy in August

So I'm cycle day 78, my periods are extremely irregular but so far this is my longest cycle I've ever had! But finally I got a positive OPK, I'm 8DPO at the moment and I know period and pregnancy symptoms are pretty much the same but I'm experiencing some things I never normally get leading up to Aunt Flo, so far the symptoms I've noticed are

5DPO - couldn't stop crying!
6DPO - Boobs slightly sore at times, extremely hungry like all the time non stop!
7DPO - Boobs slightly sore but nothing too much, extremely hungry still, frequent urination, a whole night of vivid dreams.
8DPO - Boobs are bigger, more veiny, sore and my nipples are so so sensitive and my back aches today and I'm also getting a mix of small twinges on my right side and every so often I feel a small shock? (google says it's lightning crotch??) also very emotional today and i fell asleep at 2am this morning and I woke up at 6am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep but still really tired (which is really odd for me because I usually fall asleep really early in the morn then wake up at like 11am) I also treated myself to McDonald's as I was awake early enough to order it for once 😂 and I struggled to eat it like I just smelt it and was like... ew... 😂

Anyone else experienced anything like this before getting your BFP??
I'm not testing until NYE which will be 10 DPO for me!

Any help or answers are appreciated 🥰

That's heartbreaking I'm sorry to hear about your losses I would be really stressed too! My fingers are crossed for you 🤞🤞

My symptoms are never normally the same every month, they change all the time! One month it's one thing another month it's something different so who knows anymore

I got some EWCM today although still a fairly negative OPK so hopefulllly fingers crossed I should get my positive OPK soon!!! That would be a dream 😍 a regular cycle 😍😂

Okay so do these look peak/positive to anyone????? I'm freaking out I never ovulate this early in a cycle!!!

Also it's confirmed by 2 different brands- this is brill as the shorter cycle means you're not waiting quite so long!

So sorry for disappearing, honestly there has been so much happen since I last posted you wouldn't believe it, although not into outing on a public forum lol!

We didn't dtd the day after my positive opk so I'm hoping the day and days before was enough. I'm 3 dpo I think and haven't really thought about the tww until today really. I've got other things happening but also I felt so let down last month I don't want to keep getting too excited although I am hopeful as today (tmi) there was loads of discharge which I don't usually get!

I have stopped myself googling the due date too- does anyone else do that?

And I was literally in shock when they went dark!! I took one this afternoon at like 1pm? And then these were taken at about 5:30pm and the difference is massive!! I took some a few hours later and still just as dark! Absolutely crazy!

But we DTD about an hour after I got my positive OPK and then my partner said we can tomorrow just before we go to work and then later on tomorrow night too!! Im also using the cup at the moment too and I've had like loadsss of CM after using the Evening primrose oil! Deffo worth it!

And I'm sure those days did it! They say sperm can last for up to 5 days! So I'm sure it will be okay! I've got my fingers crossed for you 🤞 the
Discharge hopefully means something good for you!! How exciting!

Every cycle I try to estimate my due date!!
Mine would be the 17th October this cycle! My partners family are massive on October birthdays! Most of them are October! Hopefully that means something 😅

Random thought, If you do get pregnant this cycle then when are you going to tell friends and family?

I don't know why but I wouldn't really want to tell friends or family until probably about 15 weeks or when I start showing! I'm not sure if that's selfish or not 😂

I've already decided I'm keeping the gender a secret until the baby is born! I mean of course I wanna know I'm the most impatient person ever but I'm not telling anyone else! X

Your last post sounds exactly me when I was pregnant! I was adamant I did not under any circumstances want to know the gender and we were not telling anyone until after the 12 week scan... well. We had an early scan about 8 weeks and I wanted to know what the gender was and I wanted to shout it from the rooftops so we told close family!

This time (fingers crossed it happens) I shall be more cautious. I'm 40 so there are more risks and I don't want my 3 yo to find out before we know things are as ok as can be after the 12 week scan- dh will struggle to last that long! I will definitely find out the gender again as I totally admit I'd want to know and dh definitely will. It will also be the best way to prepare my dc- so long as they are correct! Last time we had a gender scan at 16 weeks and they checked again at 20 weeks. Awww all this talk makes me want another so much.

How lovely would it be if we both got our bfp's this month!
Have you worked out when you'll test? I think I'm going for next Wednesday, I'm due af on Sunday.

So far we DTD when I got my peak ovulation test and then also at about 1pm today! So I'm hoping that'll do the trick!

I really think finding out the gender is important! I would really want to know! But I might keep it a secret from everyone else 😅

I'm so excited to have one my partners sister just had a baby and he is the cutest little guy ever! I just want one I don't have to give back 😂

And I figured out I'm going to test on Feb 5th! That's the day of my missed period! I think I'm going to wait this time round and if I miss my period then I'll test and see if we were lucky enough to get a BFP! Trying not to push my luck this month 😂

You are so strong to hold off until af due date to test! I am trying not to but am actually counting the days - purposely I only have 1 first response test left so I can't test too soon... although I may have 1 of those cheap ones somewhere.

A friend did that with the gender, she found out and told a handful of us but that was it.
Would you let on to others you knew (my friend didn't) or just watch people guess and find it funny inside?!

I'm not symptom spotting yet! I'm technically only 1DPO today so I'm on the thought process of it's impossible 😂 but give it 5-6 days and I'll be all over symptom spotting!! 😂

Hold off testing! Try and resist 😂😂 wait until missed period! Then at least you'll hopefully have a nice BFP!! I'm going to wait! I have other things going on at the moment (partners family drama 🙄🙄) so hopefully I'll be easily distracted for a couple of weeks and I'll just forget until my phone reminds me to take one at 14DPO!

I don't think you'd be selfish not telling anyone- your baby's mum it's all about you and what choices you make for baby 😅

I'm 7 dpo today so not too far away from testing- I know I can't wait til af due date though but I have one of those early response 6 days earlier tests so I will use that and if I am it will show by Wednesday. If it's a bfn at least I know I'm not. Then it'll be buying preseed for next month!

I also found an app we can use for our opk's do you use one?

I keep thinking that! Like it's my baby I'll do what I want! I think just me and my partner knowing makes it a bit more special for us!

I really hope you get your BFP this month and don't need to use pre seed! I was talking to one of my friends about pre seed and she said it was awkward to get used to and it wasn't the sexiest thing ever she had to use it before her husband came in the room but they got pregnant that cycle so it must've worked!

And I use the app called Femometer I also have the same brand OPK's I really like this app because it tells you if it's low high or peak and it has little tips everyday which is cute! I can also track my BBT and loads of other things on it! I've tried others but not really been a fan of the apps! Which one did you find? Xx

The preseed sounds fun 😂 if it works though it's worth it! Ha wait until you're pregnant if you have your oh doing parenial massage 😂 now that's fun!

Oh I'm glad you mentioned the app- I've not used any yet but will definitely try the one you've talked about as that's one I heard of and can't remember the other one!

I've heard of that perineal massage stuff, is it supposed to stop you tearing or needing an episiotomy or something? And like is it possible to do to yourself or is that just weird 😂😂😂

No symptoms yet! Not really anyways I've had a few small twinges on my right side! All negative OPK's at the moment and I'm only 3DPO I'm still taking my folic acid but for some reason I'm not feeling very hopeful about this cycle, I'm not entirely sure why but I just don't feel very confident, every time I feel hopeful in a cycle it turns out to be disappointing! Never know might be surprised! But I won't feel fully happy until 12 weeks! I want to know if I'm having a sticky baby before getting too excited 🤞😅

Yea totally get what you mean- that's a disadvantage of testing early too 😐

I think we should carry on not being too hopeful so we aren't as crushed if/ when af shows. I'm trying to plan ahead with preseed/ dates etc although deep inside I'm so hopeful as I'm sure you are.

Women who go through years of this must really be impacted I bet it's so so draining.

Perineal massage is supposed to basically do what you say- the first times we laughed so much then we got turned on then we just gave up 😂🙈 but women often swear by it!

Yess deffo trying not to put too much hope into it as with pcos I'm more likely to miscarry before 12 weeks and it's harder to get pregnant! But I Baby danced as soon as I got my peak ovulation and also the morning after too! So hopefully, if not at least this cycle didn't last as long so we can start trying again soon! Only time will tell!

Yeah I was thinking that about the massage 😂 my partner would 100% just find it fun 😂😂 seems interesting though 😂

So I'm thinking about testing on Jan 31st at 10DPO and then if I do get a positive test then I might go get an early scan at about 8 weeks as that'll be my partners birthday week too and Im thinking of doing a sneakpeak gender test and giving him the ultrasound and gender results together (we'll open the gender results together) as a gift! But then is that harsh keeping it a secret for that long if I know that I'm pregnant? Like should I tell him straight away or is it okay to keep it a secret until 8 weeks? 😬

When I got my bfp it was 15 days before dh's birthday and as much as I wanted to I was too excited to not tell him!

I think you'd cave in though as he'd be asking questions about ttc wouldn't he? Mine always asks for the dates in advance although they are subject to change lol!

That's true I'll probably be too excited! Mine doesn't really ask dates anymore he just kinda assumes I'm not pregnant if I haven't told him! But I probably will end up telling him, maybe I'll just do the gender for his birthday!

I've known since last summer when I had my chemical pregnancy, they found I had polycystic ovaries and they couldn't visualise my right ovary but that linked with my symptoms and long cycles they diagnosed me with PCOS! I'm trying not to let it bother me to be honest I found out my mum and Nan (different sides of the family so it comes from both) also had PCOS and they still had 2 kids each so I don't think it'll completely stop me from having kids! I'm not specifically taking anything for it because my GP just recommended taking the pill and that answer kinda confused me as I told him I was ttc! He just wasn't getting it! But after trying my diet I did this month I'm hoping that's helping the long cycles get shorter because that's the main problem!

Hope you’re both doing ok! Read through this as I’m in the same boat and I’m rooting so much for both of you to get your BFP this cycle!

I only came off the mini pill beginning of Dec, and got a positive ovulation test about 4 weeks later, only tested as I added everything to the ‘clue’ app and that’s when it predicted ovulation so was surprised it was positive when predicted! Anyway, DTD a few days in a row and since 7DPO I’ve had the worst boobs ever! So painful and super sensitive nipples!

I did a test Friday morning (11dpo) and had a faint positive and was so shocked so ran to get another test and took that an hour later and got a BFN 😔 I then waited for the next morning and tested with FMU at 13DPO and negative again. So confused and I have every symptom under the sun and no AF cramps. Although I’ve been on the pill for 10 years so no recollection of any of this pms or cramps pre pill so I’m thinking it’s just my hormones out of whack! 😔

According to my app I’m due AF tomorrow so will test again in the morning, but not getting my hopes up!

Hoping to get some more OPK for next month so we shall see!

I’m Currently wide awake and I can’t sleep as my boobs feel like bruised sandbags so I can’t sleep on my front like I normally do 😂

I’ve had throbbing/shooting pains all day in my boobs and for the first time in my life I gagged at a glass of wine this evening!! Was very shocked! But have been really nauseous for a few days now. So who knows. But I have a horrible feeling it’s my body playing tricks on me!

You're more then welcome to join! It sucks that you got a faint positive and then didn't get one again! Some tests can be really mean! Could've been indentation or a false positive! But my fingers are crossed that you get your BFP!!

The clue app is great! I've used that app for years! That was the first ever app I downloaded for cycle tracking but I found that clue was was okay to track your period and ovulation dates and mark a few symptoms but wasn't the best one out there when ttc! I really like Femometer because it allows you to add all your OPKS and it'll tell you if it's low high or peak! It'll give you all sorts of ttc tips and you can add loadsss of symptoms, track your body temp, it gives you health tips and all sorts! I've got the same brand ovulation strips and thermometer and pregnancy tests! (I'll add some pictures of the app)

I really hope your sore boobs turn out as a pregnancy! (Sounded mean but you get me 😂)
I very rarely get extremely sore boobs! Only occasionally they'll hurt a little bit and be a bit sore but never really a lot! The only time mine were really really painful is when I was pregnant (turned out to be a chemical pregnancy) but hopefully that means you'll get your BFP!!

If this doesn't end up being your lucky cycle then deffo get some OPK's and try different things because you never know what might work for you!!

Thank you!! I know it was so frustrating. It must’ve been either a false positive or I don’t know what. Annoyingly it’s because the line came up straight away! That’s why I was so shocked. If it appeared half hour later I wouldn’t have paid attention to it 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Yea I really like the clue app, but I’ve only been using it since end of December so don’t have too much on there at the mo. So fingers crossed I can start tracking properly! No AF today so no idea when to expect that 🙄

Haha aww thank you! I’m not too sure, this is the thing this is my first proper month off the pill so no idea if that’s just the norm for me with pms but they’re really painful. And super heavy! It’s hard to not think about it when they’re constantly throbbing lol. Cant even sleep on my front! 😳

This is my only other explanation that it may have possibly been a chemical, but then I’d get AF right?! It’s so confusing. I wish I hadn’t have been on the pill for so long I have no idea about my own body!

Well hopefully you don't get your period and you get a BFP! You never know some people don't get their BFP until weeks after their missed period! But it not it might take a couple cycles to get back to a sense of normal!

Maybe your boobs hurt because your body is producing hormones that it wouldn't normally produce when on the pill! But to be honest my "normal" changes every month so I'll never know what's normal for anyone!

I wouldn't say it's a chemical as you've not had any bleeding and fingers crossed that you don't bleed! But you never know some people get pregnant straight away off the pill and some people it takes a few cycles!

I feel good today! Not really any cramps, boobs a tiny bit tender to touch but other than that nothing really! I'm only 4DPO today so I won't get any symptoms for the next couple of days anyways I don't have much hope for this cycle but you never know!
