Pregnancy or period symptoms? 2ww

Hi! So I'm currently
Trying for 1st baby
Cycle 9 of trying
Cycle day 78
8 DPO
Had a chemical pregnancy in August

So I'm cycle day 78, my periods are extremely irregular but so far this is my longest cycle I've ever had! But finally I got a positive OPK, I'm 8DPO at the moment and I know period and pregnancy symptoms are pretty much the same but I'm experiencing some things I never normally get leading up to Aunt Flo, so far the symptoms I've noticed are

5DPO - couldn't stop crying!
6DPO - Boobs slightly sore at times, extremely hungry like all the time non stop!
7DPO - Boobs slightly sore but nothing too much, extremely hungry still, frequent urination, a whole night of vivid dreams.
8DPO - Boobs are bigger, more veiny, sore and my nipples are so so sensitive and my back aches today and I'm also getting a mix of small twinges on my right side and every so often I feel a small shock? (google says it's lightning crotch??) also very emotional today and i fell asleep at 2am this morning and I woke up at 6am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep but still really tired (which is really odd for me because I usually fall asleep really early in the morn then wake up at like 11am) I also treated myself to McDonald's as I was awake early enough to order it for once 😂 and I struggled to eat it like I just smelt it and was like... ew... 😂

Anyone else experienced anything like this before getting your BFP??
I'm not testing until NYE which will be 10 DPO for me!

Any help or answers are appreciated 🥰

Yea exactly that’s what he’s worried about too. So I keep everything ovulation wise to myself lol. But it’s hard with no one else in real life to talk to 😔

Yea it’s hard. Especially because my SIL keeps pushing like “are you having a baby yet” and we don’t want to tell anyone specifically for that reason of people asking! It annoys me more that she keeps asking because she had issues with conceiving her second.. and I don’t want anyone knowing incase we end up having issues which will make it worse if everyone always asks about it. So for her to keep pushing when she’s had issues herself it just gets to me. More so the fact that we keep saying to her “no we’re gunna enjoy the new house for a while first!”

I’ve tried a few apps but didn’t get on with them I didn’t like how they worked. Hoping that’s exactly what might happen if I just stop trying to track ovulation for a few months!

I ovulated today I think, we've dtd etc but not 'trying' this month as such- we are dtd at the right times (hopefully) but need a bit less pressure so seeing this month as a go with the flow with no expectations and try next month.

I'm finding it much easier not thinking about it every second too!

@Delilah221 will be in the tww I think now- if even planning to test 🤷🏻‍♀️ are you approaching your fertile window soon?

Its good that you're not really trying, people always say it happens when you're not really trying! Im hoping you get your BFP this cycle!

I think I need to do the same to be honest, I'm taking ovulation tests, BBT, cervical position and CM and symptom tracking and taking my vitamins and tea but I think that's all I'm going to do this cycle!

I have contacted a GP about my struggles with pcos and we're working out a treatment plan

Morning ladies! Yes correct, I’m in my 2ww. But not thinking about it this month (trying not to!)
We’ve got so much going on with the house it’s not really been on my mind too much.

My sore boobs have come back again!! So so sore. So I think that’s just the norm for my body. They hurt for then entire 2ww last month and literally just stopped hurting as soon as AF arrived!
Ive looked back in my app and they started hurting around the same time last month. I’m about 4DPO now depending on what day I actually ovulated!

I’m really stressed because I have a hospital appointment on the 23rd for a colposcopy because they found abnormal cells on my cervix at my smear test and I was due to go last month but AF showed up so I had to move it, but now my AF is predicted to arrive the day after the appointment so I’m praying she holds off because I really want to get the appointment done with!

Not long left to go then, only a few more days until you can test / period so hopefully you get your BFP!

Sore boobs are horrible, hopefully it doesn't get too bad, I'm lucky it's not a symptom I get very often!

I hope your hospital appointments go okay; that's always the last thing you want to hear after a Smear test! Hope it goes okay x

I had a phone call with a GP this morning and she didn't seem to even have a clue what she was on about, she said "due to coronavirus we might not be able to do anything but because you're young it's not as important there's still time" is it bad that I'm unhappy that she said that? Like I get the corona bit but because of my age it's not important? Really! Oh well I'll just wait and see what happens and keep trying in the meantime! x

I won’t be testing this month, I’m just waiting for AF. I’ve not got anymore tests and I’m in the midst of packing up lol.

Is also now being talked that we complete on the house the week AF is due so that really will be a distraction lol.

Aww thank you. Yes I’m more worried in case I need to move it again, I just want to get it over with!

Oh gosh, how un helpful! I hope you’re ok 😔 it’s really frustrating as I think they only help if you’ve been trying for over a year, or if you’ve been trying for 6 months if you’re over 35 I think it is. Still doesn’t help when you want answers though!

I'm okay, she said she would call me back and I'm still waiting for that call so I might just give up with the whole GP thing! I've been trying for a year and I'm under 35 but she just didn't seem interested in helping me really. She was so fixated on the fact that my partner smokes, i was like ya I get it, smokings bad, I know that he knows that, how does that solve the case of the irregular periods? Oh it doesn't 😂😂😂
I'm on CD14 and I'm not due to ovulate until the 23rd Feb so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that timeline, so far been pretty good at DTD every other day and keeping up with my vitamins and tea and sorta diet (Pizza Hut had 50% off oops) and I'm debating trying preseed this month! But my partner has agreed to start taking wellman conception as long as I crush it up and put it in his food and don't tell him it's in it... like you'd do for a 5 year old except he's 30 😂

Hope all your moving is going okay! Can be quite stressful! But at least it's a distraction so you don't test! They always say it happens when you're distracted!! 🤞🤞🤞xx

So update on my GP situation! My partner called to complain about the fact she did nothing and was rude, I didn't know he had done this! And this morning I got a call back from my GP and she told me she wants me to go in for a blood test the week before my period and on cycle day 2-3 while I'm on my period and they're also sending me for a ultrasound at my hospital! So yay at least we've got a start! 😊xx

@OnMyJourney ahh that’s great news!! Good on him!! I’d have done the same to be honest!! But I think sometimes it helps when it’s not coming from you if that makes sense lol.

I caved and tested this morning I’m 8dpo, BFN 😢😢 I really thought this was the month as it’s been different for me this 2ww. So really upset today.

It was a surprise, I didn't think my partner would call and complain! But it was good! It got us somewhere!!

That's okay 8DPO is still early! Some people don't get them until 16DPO+ so don't give up hope until Aunt Flo shows up!! 🤞xx

Any updates for anyone?!

I'm on CD 16 and I think I got a really high ovulation test today, not peak yet but almost there! Should really dtd tonight but my partner is away for work until tomorrow morning so as soon as he gets home he's getting jumped on lol and then for the next few days hopefully too!

I have a transvaginal ultrasound on March 4th and I'll have a blood test next week and then one when I start my period (if it starts) and we'll see what's going on and hopefully get some answers!

Any positives for anyone yet? Xx

@OnMyJourney we’ve had a crazy week, very very stressful and I’ve had a lot to drink and lots of bad food! And I got a BFN at 8DPO and then I got AF today 😢

Keeping my fingers crossed for next month but I’m sure we DTD at the right times this month so who knows! But been very focused on our house etc that we’ve not really thought about it! But on a positive note, we’ve finally exchanged and will be moving on the 1st of March!! 🥳🥳

Ahh that sucks that af showed up! I hope next month is your month! It's rubbish when you do everything right and it doesn't happen!

But that's good about your house!! How exciting!! I love moving but it is stressful!!

I'll keep you updated! These ovulation tests are stressing me out! Still haven't hit peak yet still just at high! But I suppose that's good as my partner isn't here to dtd so hopefully they'll turn peak tomorrow and we can try dtd everyday for the next few days!! I wish this was easier 🥴🥴

I think I have a peak ovulation test!! A couple of hours ago these weren't nearly as dark!! We DTD about 4 hours ago, might see if my partner will let me squish in another session tonight and tomorrow morning... he probably won't be happy about that 😂 keeping my fingers crossed though 🤞🤞

Also another short cycle! Obviously diet and vitamins are doing their job!

Me this month! And I turned off all my apps and stayed off here and I didn’t purposely symptom spot but this months been so different for me in so many ways. And we DTD like 6 days in a row over my fertile week and used conceive plus!!

I’m so so down about it as I got a bfn this morning! I’m beyond stressed out it’s consuming me!

I’m throwing all OPKs away and just chilling this month!!

When is af due?

I'm due Saturday so crossing fingers tightly still but I actually think it's not my month.

How long have you been ttc? I think this is our 6th month.

We have a 3 year old who was conceived first month trying just using an app for an idea of a fertile window and I've spent til 6 months ago panicking I could get pregnant and being so careful (can't do pill / implant etc it sends me crazy lol) and stupidly I thought it would happen quickly... now wishing we hadn't waited so long.

It's been crazy! I had a chemical pregnancy again last cycle which was heartbreaking! Today I'm 7DPO! Hoping for my positive but if not I have a hospital appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist (fertility specialist) in June which I guess I'm kinda excited for? I hate bad news 😅 I went for doctors appointment and an ultrasound to figure things out and he's referred me to the reproductive endocrinologist! I'm happy this is a start to finding out the issue!!

Don't give up!!! It's so tough! Speak to your GP and just say you've been trying for a year they don't know the difference! Then they'll arrange for you to be looked at! I had my first appointment in March and my next one is in June but I've had several appointments between! I've been well looked after and I'm very impressed! But don't give up!! It will 100% be worth it in the end!

Glad to hear you've had some investigating appointments though, keep me updated.
I actually went to my gp who referred me across for a scan and I got a cancellation so fell lucky and jumped up the list.
I don't know if it was what you had, they scanned my tummy first then a vaginal scan. Thankfully all came back clear and we are now waiting for dh's sperm analysis results so he's feeling the pressure.

I’m just finding it so hard to stay positive! Every BFN and every time AF arrives it’s like a punch in the gut!

We’ve decided to pay to go and have a private fertility MOT so we can at least get checked and go from there.

@Ivy99 any signs of af- hoping you have a bfp after your different symptoms this time.

I tested today and yesterday and bfn's 🙄 and tonight af has arrived.
Feeling quite angry this time, not sure if it's because I let myself believe these different symptoms meant a bfp or if knowing I'm 'ok and working' so to speak I feel my body's let me down.

@Ivy99 good for you getting checks, have you a date/ any idea what checks they do?

As gutting as each month is, I am so so thankful which somehow grows every month to have my dd. I know hoe lucky I am and if it doesn't happen for us, in the grand scheme of things it's ok.

I pray for you both and others ttc #1 it happens x
