Anyone TTC #2?

mamaatthegym · 26/11/2020 22:29

Lots of threads about TTC baby #1 so looking for someone baby #2 support!

If so how old is your current DC and what made you realise it was the right time?

DD has just turned 1 and we are thinking about #2 very soon! DD took 14 months to conceive so I’m prepared for another long slog...although a bit panicky that it could happen sooner! Am also still shifting some baby weight that clung on nicely during both lockdowns Wink

Anyone else?

Hey @Mybobowler if I’m honest I have no idea but I’m going to stick with CD23 so yes we are similar Grin
I haven’t ovulated on the same day since DD was born so I’m officially irregular Sad frustrating because pre-DD I O’d on CD14 like clockwork and everything was just so easy to predict!

I’ve had negative OPKs since about CD17 so I’m going with the fact I either ovulated before then orrrrr I haven’t ovulated and maybe won’t this month Sad been having some pulls and cramps though so I do feel like I’m in the second half of my cycle regardless of a pregnancy or not.

Taking the relaxed approach so far isn’t working.
Yesterday I had a little niggly dull ache on the left side of my pelvis really low down, what did I do? Google implantation cramps Grin

Stupidddd

@mrssunshinexxx keep testing it’s the only way to know! How long are your cycles normally? A lot of people ovulated CD18-21 so keep going! X

Well I had a weird niggle earlier so decided to test and I have the flashing smiley Grin cd 14!

mamaatthegym · 10/01/2021 22:14

Fab @mrssunshinexxx hope you got busy! Lol

Helpppp I am pretty sure I’ve just got a positive OPK CD24?! Not completely impossible as I did have a super long cycle a couple of months ago. Ugh hate having such long cycles. Guess I’ll be DTD tonight! I totally thought I was well into my TWW already (thought I was potentially 10dpo Sad)

@mamaatthegym certainly have but still not at peak and he goes away for work in the morn til Friday so that's probably not going to be us this month but nevermind.
Hmm have you already thought you ovulated had you had a positive test

Mybobowler · 11/01/2021 08:48

@mamaatthegym that's so bizarre. Have you taken a pregnancy test? Weird!

I'm 100% with you on the TWW rollercoaster. Took an FRER yesterday morning - negative - but I had some random spotting on Saturday but nothing since and no other signs of period. My temps are totally flat, so not giving anything away either. I'm too impatient for this! I also keep getting the heebies about ttc/getting pregnant given how bad the covid situation has become. My partner has been very reassuring on that front, but is anyone else worried about it? I am a chronic overthinker, so if anyone wants to tell me to chill that would be fine!

Emilu89 · 11/01/2021 09:26

@mybobowler I am exactly the same about TTC and the current covid situation. I have been offered the covid vaccine due to my job and I am so undecided about what to do. My DD took 15 months to conceive and my last pregnancy took a year but sadly I miscarried, so I don't feel like i have time to put off by having the vaccine but then I hate the thought of turning down a vaccine to potentially keep others and myself safe arghhh! I am a huge overthinker haha! X

Mybobowler · 11/01/2021 11:19

@Emilu89 oh no, what a dilemma! How soon could you get the vaccine, and what's the current advice for waiting to TTC afterwards? I'm so far down the vaccination list that I haven't had to take that into account, but it must be a really tricky situation to be in. But like you said, you never know how long this journey will take and, despite the current horrible situation, life goes on. Not an easy one!

mamaatthegym · 14/01/2021 15:07

@mrssunshinexxx sorry about DH going away Sad it’s frustrating when it just doesn’t work out!

@Mybobowler goodness our bodies just love to mess about with us don’t they!

And I did end up taking a test...even used one of my FRERs 🤦‍♀️ Surprise surprise BFN.

That was a few days ago but AF arrived unexpectedly early today so I’m out for my first cycle. WHY oh why am I disappointed?! I geared myself up for it taking another year plus like with DD yet here I am a bit miffed that it didn’t happen first time. I’ll never learn! That also means I O’d on CD13 so no wonder my OPKs were all negative, I haven’t ovulated that early in ages! I did DTD on that day and the day before anyway according to my app but to no avail evidently!

I’m with you two as well on the Covid situ! My last pregnancy was textbook. If that happened again then great but I’ve found myself going down the rabbit hole of “what if the pregnancy doesn’t work out (I had multiple MCs before DD so fully prepared that might happen again!) and I have to have medical management, what if I get an infection, what if somethings wrong with the baby/labour/delivery” and feel guilty that I’d be putting an extra strain on the NHS.

I’m just praying we start coming out of this hell hole with the vaccinations but it’s not looking positive right now is it Sad

@Emilu89 regarding the vaccine I think my honest advice would be not to have it and carry on TTC. x

Mybobowler · 14/01/2021 21:31

@mamaatthegym ohh rubbish, I'm sorry! I'm out this month as well - AF arrived late yesterday and I wasted two FRERs. I'm so disappointed, I had totally convinced myself that I was pregnant. In a way, I think the disappointment is a good thing though - I got cold feet the last couple of weeks and this has definitely convinced me that I am ready and excited for another baby! I went out and bought some of the Seven Seas conception vits today following all the glowing reviews on here! I guess we're on the same cycle now then? I'm CD2, think I usually ovulate around 14 but I've never used OPKs, only temps.

On the covid stuff - it is a big worry isn't? I think I'm reassuring with the likelihood that the situation will be vastly improved by the autumn, and also that life has to carry on somehow. And honestly, I could do with something to feel hopeful for just now!

mrssunshinexxx · 14/01/2021 23:28

@mamaatthegym we are just human but it's annoying we get ourselves so set on it happening I know I'll be disappointed when my period comes! Atleast next month you know to use the opks much sooner x

MMG21 · 15/01/2021 11:04

J2021 · 15/01/2021 16:55

Hi I am ttc baby no 2 got a 4 year old little girl have been trying the last 3 years since wanting children close together but no success as of yet plus I get irregular periods between 21 and 42 day so finally this month I tracked ovulation and ovulate yesterday cycle day 18 so I'm 1 dpo and 🤞 just waiting game now will still cover doing the deed incase but wanted company while I wait

mrssunshinexxx · 15/01/2021 19:01

Welcome @J2021 the irregular cycles must be a pain how are you feeling ? It's great that you caught ovulation this month x

Nobeautysleep · 18/01/2021 11:13

Hi everyone!
I’ve been off the thread for a little bit as been so busy at work. Sounds like there’s been highs and lows for everyone. Hopefully things will get better in 2021! It’s hard trying to decide whether to have the jab or not, my friend is a pharmacist and pregnant, she said she will be having it but you have to weigh up your own risk factors.

I came off the mini pill 6 November and have still not had a withdrawal bleed or any sign of a period, so im not sure what to do next. Confused

Mybobowler · 18/01/2021 11:58

Hi @Nobeautysleep that must be so frustrating! Are you waiting for your first period to start TTC, or are you already trying? It's horrible not knowing what's going on with your body, fingers crossed you get either a bfp or a post-pill AF soon!

My period is now on day 6 and showing no signs of showing. Argh! After a whole year of clockwork, easy cycles after I stopped BF, it's the month we start TTC that things go haywire. I'm trying to be calm about it but I'm too impatient, I just want to be pregnant now! Blush hopefully there's nothing wrong and I'm just being neurotic.

How is everyone else getting on?

MMG21 · 18/01/2021 13:07

Its been 28 days since my withdrawal bleed after stopping the pill. I have tested just incase on a frer and cheapie both BFN 🙈 just waiting for AF now so annoying I used to dread it coming now i just want to know in fertile 😭😭😭

Nobeautysleep · 19/01/2021 18:47

We’d already been trying but I’ve started spotting and had cramping so it seems like AF is on its way.

mrssunshinexxx · 19/01/2021 22:24

@Nobeautysleep it's the worse :(

Nobeautysleep · 20/01/2021 06:15

@mrssunshinexxx I forgot how much it hurts

J2021 · 21/01/2021 16:08

So 7dpo today and had these sharp electric type shocks deep inside my vagina that lasted for a few minutes and every time the shock eased it was like a slight pulling sensation, theory's on this ?🤔

Mybobowler · 22/01/2021 14:21

@J2021 this was exactly the same sensation I experienced before I found out I was pregnant with DD. It felt exactly like a small electric shock. We weren't TTC at the time so it's not like I was symptom spotting, but it was such a distinctive sensation that it's stuck with me!

For balance though, I thought I felt the same thing last month but nada, BNF. Hopefully it's a good sign for you though - good luck!

Mybobowler · 01/02/2021 09:06

Is anyone still on this thread? How's everyone doing?

miami2 · 01/02/2021 09:50

Kinda - been keeping quiet. As much as I love it, sometimes Mumsnet can bring me stress and pressure lol. Just recently found out we are pregnant. 4 months after our chemical pregnancy. 🤞🏼 this one sticks!!!!
