Anyone TTC #2?

Lots of threads about TTC baby #1 so looking for someone baby #2 support!

If so how old is your current DC and what made you realise it was the right time?

DD has just turned 1 and we are thinking about #2 very soon! DD took 14 months to conceive so I’m prepared for another long slog...although a bit panicky that it could happen sooner! Am also still shifting some baby weight that clung on nicely during both lockdowns Wink

Anyone else?

Great thanks, my cycles aren't standard, since stopping the pill last Yr they range between day 26-30

mrssunshinexxx · 28/02/2021 13:55

It will say what to do about that in the leaflet xx @LoopeyK

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 28/02/2021 16:33

I've been using the clearblue advanced digi opks @LoopeyK and I have irregular periods. It said to start testing depending on the shortest period you've had in the last 6 cycles I think. I had 7 days of flashing smileys until today we got a static. We've dtd every other day and will tonight once DH is home from work so hopefully that will be enough. It is all very confusing though.

LoopeyK · 28/02/2021 16:43

Thanks, I'll make sure I read it all, mine are coming tomorrow, I ordered from amazon prime lol

May2311 · 28/02/2021 19:16

@mrssunshinexxx I get nervous thinking the same as my DD is only 9 months ( nearly 10) but think it will be fine! Like you say sleep deprived the first 6 months but as they grow they will entertain each other so imagine it will be absolutely lovely to see! ❤️ how is your LO sleeping now? Is she in your room still or have you moved her into her own? Will you find out what your having?

So this might sound so silly. My CB OPK has come & I have read the leaflet but just want to double check my understanding with you ladies that use it!

I will get "flashy smile" which means "high" but then we will get "static smile" which means "peak" & ovulation will be anytime within the next 48 hours from getting the peak?

Then my cycle lengths vary slightly. This one I've just had is my shortest in the last 6 months so looking at the instructions I start on CD 8 - but from what you have told me it will just be blank that day is that right?

Thanks in advance 😊

mrssunshinexxx · 28/02/2021 19:38

Hey @May2311 I definitely feel nervous I have felt abit down today which happens often, I lost my mum suddenly last April just before my lo was born so it's the realisation that she won't be here at all ever. But of course I am so grateful to be pregnant it's just mixed emotions. She is in her room yeah she has quite a big nursery that we have a double bed in and I moved her through there at 5 months but then slept in the double bed so was still in the same room as her , the 4 month sleep regression was AWFUL. So I sleep trained her (gently) at 6 months and she now sleeps through usually 7.45pm- 7.20 am bang on! Yes will find out will you? Have you got a boy or a girl ?

Yes that's all correct you will get a blank as it gathers data x

LoopeyK · 28/02/2021 19:56

I've just got my CB ovulation kits too, I will start testing CD9 as my shortest cycles have been 26 days but can go to 30 so will be good not having to guess when I'm ovulating and hopefully this month will be the month 🙏🤞

May2311 · 28/02/2021 21:06

@mrssunshinexxx your bound to have up and down days! And you will feel it even more with having had this big news as most ladies I know first think of telling partner and their mum! ( if not mum first tbh!) Just take it a day at a time and when you have a down day make sure you look after yourself and try to have a relax.

Ah yes the terrible 4 month sleep regression- I actually think we were lucky it only seemed to last 1-1.5weeks! My friends had massive trouble though. My LO has always been ok at sleeping( even in newborn stage she used to sleep 3-4hrs at a time). Now she sleeps through which Is great but the other night she was disturbed ( teething I think) It was a shock to my system!!

I have a little girl - We found out with her and will find out again. I like being organised so enjoy finding out earlier so I can get everything set up!

Thanks for responding re my questions!

May2311 · 28/02/2021 21:11

@LoopeyK have you got the 4 day CB OPK? If you do have that one and your shortest cycle was 26days the instructions in mine show you should start testing on CD7? ( I only realised as I was just reading them tonight and my shortest cycle is 28days and I have to start on CD8)- don't want you missing the peak! Fingers crossed this is your month! X

LoopeyK · 28/02/2021 21:13

I have both 4 day and 2 day, I'll do the 4 day one and check the instructions when they arrive tomorrow thanks

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2021 06:56

Thank you @May2311
Are you hoping for a boy or a girl ?
Of course a healthy baby is the most important thing. I did tell my mum first I sent her a msg I msg her every day 😀
Mine slept 3/4 hours newborn too then at 9 weeks woke once or slept though then BANG. Waking every 50/60mins through the night for about 6 weeks and i honestly thought I was going to die !! Sleep trained her and it was 3 hard nights but oh my word totally worth it.
Hurry up and get pregnant I want to share this journey together!! X

hotpotlover · 01/03/2021 07:08

I got a positive yesterday, period was overdue by 1 day.

Our son is 7 months old (Please don't judge us hehe)

Anyone TTC #2?
mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2021 07:57

You're in good company mine is only 8momtjs 😉 @hotpotlover

May2311 · 01/03/2021 08:29

@LoopeyK good idea!! Ooo if you have both you defo must catch OV this month then! Good luck 😊

@mrssunshinexxx I am happy with either - like you say as long as baby is healthy. Although both hubby and I think if/when we fall it will be another girl as we are very majority girl in both families. What about you? I knowwww fingers crossed this will be our month!

@hotpotlover congratulations!!! Lovely news. Why an earth would we judge?! Your LOs will have a lovely relationship once a little older as they will be able to play together. ❤️

@mamaatthegym How are you doing? Hope you have been looking after yourself and treated yourself to that 🍷! Xxx

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2021 08:45

@May2311 100% healthy the priority I think I am interested with the 'myths' because when we conceived lo we dtd before ovulation and the same this time and the myths say boy sperm is lazier so more likely a boy if you dtd later .
A girl would be lovely as you hope for that close close best friend bond but equally I would love to experience being a mum to a little boy too x

mamaatthegym · 01/03/2021 09:42

I’m all good @May2311 thanks for asking Grin AF is tailing off finally. It’s been pretty much like a normal period so I’m hoping I ovulate as normal this cycle! Welcome to your first official month TTC!

@mrssunshinexxx so sorry to hear about your mum, hope you are having a better day today. How is everything?

Someone on the previous page asked about doing anything in the TWW but now I’m typing a message I can’t go back and check who it was haha, was it @Cantthinkofaname99 ?! I’m carrying on losing weight/exercising like you I don’t want to stop for 2 weeks a month haha!

The only thing I do focus on which I read about is keeping your feet and tummy warm during TWW! Honestly read up about it, it’s really interesting. Your feet are directly connected to your uterus (think reflexology!) and if your feet are cold your womb is cold and won’t be inviting for a fertilised egg to implant. Also don’t wear crop tops etc (I mean...I haven’t worn a crop top for about 10 years anyway) so during implantation 6-10dpo wear fluffy socks and slippers around the house, hot water bottle, lots of hot drinks and no cold drinks, salads, ice cream, icy smoothies etc! Lots of hot food.

I think during summer it doesn’t really matter as you’re warmer anyway, but it’s a little chilly at the moment so can’t harm!

Hi @mamaatthegym I feel abit better today thank you I think Mother's Day looming isn't helping 😞 miss her so much and can't believe I'm going to do this all without her. But I will do it because I am strong like she was. I think you will ovulate like normal I've heard a lot of people having chemicals or miscarriages and conceiving again the next month! I'm feeling ok just registered with the midwife I'm not sure it's sunk in yet ! X

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 01/03/2021 10:13

Congratulations @hotpotlover

noname55 · 01/03/2021 10:34

6dpo and really cramping. Hope it's not an early period on the way Sad

hotpotlover · 01/03/2021 11:24

Thank you @May2311 @TheWhalesOnTheBus :)

@May2311 I hope they will be really close in childhood and adulthood:)

@mrssunshinexxx Good to know that other people also like small age differences. Congratulations on your pregnancy and I'm so sorry what happened to your mum x

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 01/03/2021 11:25

Could be a good sign @noname55 I had cramping with DC. Try not to think you're out yet

hotpotlover · 01/03/2021 11:57

@noname55

With DC1 I also had cramping exactly 7 days before my period was due. I remember it so well because it happened at work and I went to the toilet fully expecting AF to have arrived. There was only a tiny speck of blood in my underpants, maybe the size of the head of a pin.

With this pregnancy I haven't had any cramping yet. So every pregnancy is different. I wouldn't worry, you're not out until AF arrives. Good luck x

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2021 12:23

Thank you @hotpotlover x

noname55 · 01/03/2021 13:08

Thanks guys I hope it's a good sign.

Cantthinkofaname99 · 01/03/2021 19:09

Congratulations @hotpotlover !

@mamaatthegym thank you, I read that and immediately went to find my fluffy socks! I don't think I can get away with them at work though! DS was conceived in August so wouldn't have been an issue then.
