Anyone TTC #2?

Lots of threads about TTC baby #1 so looking for someone baby #2 support!

If so how old is your current DC and what made you realise it was the right time?

DD has just turned 1 and we are thinking about #2 very soon! DD took 14 months to conceive so I’m prepared for another long slog...although a bit panicky that it could happen sooner! Am also still shifting some baby weight that clung on nicely during both lockdowns Wink

Anyone else?

I'm CD12 too, still getting negative opks, my cycle is normally 25/26 days but thinking this month might be longer, so even longer to wait!
It's the waiting that sends me crazy!

May2311 · 22/02/2021 08:50

Happy Monday everyone 😊

Awful weather where I am this morning - never helps lift the mood!

@mamaatthegym how are you doing? Xx

Mybobowler · 22/02/2021 08:54

Hey everyone! I've been super quiet on here recently - my toddler has hit a rough patch (to put it lightly. It's like having a 25lb newborn) and I get about 30 seconds of every day to myself. Must be insane to be desperately trying for another one!

How are you doing @mamaatthegym? I have all fingers crossed for you!

@Cantthinkofaname99 I think we have matching cycles! I'm also CD12 of a 25-ish day cycle, and still getting neg OPKs. I think my probable chemical in January really messed up my cycle last month, so I've got fingers crossed this one is a back to normal. I usually ovulate between CD13-15 I think, so fingers crossed it happens in the next couple of days!

mamaatthegym · 22/02/2021 09:06

Hi @Mybobowler hope you’re coping ok with the 25lb newborn Grin hopefully just a phase!!

I’m doing ok thanks for asking, no more tests for me as my squinters just upset me and can’t stand seeing 1-2 on a digi. I am literally taking it day by day and every day I’m not spotting/bleeding is another small victory. I think I’m going to use my last digi on Thursday. If it still says 1-2 I think I’ll phone the GP and try and get a referral to EPU as I’m beginning to worry about ectopic now?!

I've had my first flashing smiley this morning - but DH is working a long shift today so not sure if we'll be able to dtd.

Keeping everything crossed for you @mamaatthegym I think it's a good idea to wait to test as hopefully you'll get a better progression in a few days.

mamaatthegym · 22/02/2021 10:43

Who am I kidding...was bursting for the loo and stupidly used the upstairs toilet (where my tests are) and this is what I got...

Just bloomin fed up now! I’ve always miscarried naturally but I’ve got no spotting or anything so feeling like it’s either ectopic or my body won’t miscarry naturally and it’s just going to stay like this until I see no heartbeat on a scan and need a D&C.

Knowing FULL WELL that testing just upsets me I still did it and now I’m in the worst mood ever. I guess some small part of me was still holding out hope that I’d get some good progression.

Deflated and fed up.

Anyone TTC #2?

That's definitely a sensible approach @mamaatthegym - agonising over test lines makes it so much more stressful. Fingers crossed you'll get a more definitive test on Thursday. Keep us posted!

Ooh hope you manage to find time (and energy!) @TheWhalesOnTheBus but flashing means tomorrow will still be ok if not? I am a stranger to digital OPKs, so I'm not entirely sure how they work!

I'll be doing another OPK at lunchtime. Fingers crossed something is happening in there!

May2311 · 22/02/2021 11:37

@mamaatthegym I'm sorry for the lack of progression 😔 Are you feeling ok in yourself? Perhaps it will be good idea to have a call with doc just to be on the safe side? Xx

mamaatthegym · 22/02/2021 11:44

Contacted GP and as suspected weren’t interested in the slightest 😂 told me I needed to self refer to my local hospital for all my scans and midwife appointments. I don’t think they really understood what I was getting at! They said I could phone my local EPU if I was having pain or bleeding but I’m not so I doubt they’ll see me. It seems faint pregnancy tests aren’t really a cause for concern so just more waiting for me now.

Anyway I just feel like a broken record and don’t want to bring down the mood of the thread. So let’s have some good news please!

@Mybobowler I’m also a stranger to digi OPKs I just use the sticks. Fingers crossed you’ll get a nice strong line soon! A positive OPK is almost as exciting as a BFP haha.

@TheWhalesOnTheBus @Cantthinkofaname99 Looks like most of you are waiting to O so hopefully you’ll all be on a TWW soon and we can symptom spot together Grin

@mrssunshinexxx how are you getting on?

noname55 · 22/02/2021 11:53

Ah I'm sorry @mamaatthegym I hope everything goes well for you, have my fingers crossed.

Just done an opk and it's definitely positive! CD16.

mamaatthegym · 22/02/2021 12:02

Wahoooo @noname55 love a positive OPK. Time to get busy! Grin

OP posts:
mamaatthegym · 22/02/2021 12:05

@May2311 literally feeling fine! A little tired but don’t know if that’s DDs fault haha. GP weren’t interested. This is my roadmap...wait. If I start bleeding then can call EPU. If I don’t start bleeding or have any severe pain by 6 weeks (from my O date not LMP) then will pay for a private scan and go from there. I’ve just heard of people nearly dying from ectopics and now worried that’s going to me Confused

Greencabin · 22/02/2021 12:06

Hi all, I havent read all the thread yet but just jumping on the trail! We are going to ttc DC no2 in a few months time - I just want to lose this last 10 lbs and feel abit healthier...also my periods have only just come back after nearly 16 months! ( due to bf our 17 month old) so I think it will be a while before they get back to normal!

mrssunshinexxx · 22/02/2021 12:18

Welcome @Greencabin oh no that makes me nervous I have a 7m okd and I am BF but no periods yet but I have caught ovulation this cycle on 2 different opks

May2311 · 22/02/2021 12:37

@mamaatthegym as long as your feeling ok ( no pain etc) I wouldn't think you need to be worried about ectopic. Wait it out and fingers crossed all is ok.😘😘😘 also never be worried about "bringing the tread down" We are all here for the good and the bad and the crazy! 🥴

Good luck those who are getting peak Ov! X

mrssunshinexxx · 22/02/2021 12:40

@mamaatthegym completely agree with @May2311 we are hear to listen. MN has been an amazing place for me the past 10 months when I've had a really tough time.
I agree if you aren't in pain try not to worry about eptopic ?

May2311 · 22/02/2021 13:20

Those of you that are using the clearblue ovulation tests can you give a detailed explanation on how they should be used? I'm reading up on them and don't really get them! Plus there seems to be different types- which is would you recommend? X

dunkedbiscuit · 22/02/2021 13:24

@mamaatthegym please talk to us whenever you want to and don’t worry about ‘bringing us down’ this journey is haaarrd and we need to be able to talk about all of it (the good and the bad!)

From my (limited) knowledge of eptopics I think it’s unlikely if you feel ok, my best friend had one and was in significant pain which got worse and worse. I don’t know if that’s always the case but I think there would be some signs? Sending lots of love, the waiting is so grim xx

mamaatthegym · 22/02/2021 13:36

@dunkedbiscuit @mrssunshinexxx @May2311
Thanks so much for the support Brew
Ok so no pain so we’re looking good. I think I’m just worrying now about anything. I’ve kind of bought OH up to speed, showed him the picture of my BFP at 5 weeks with DD (super strong line!) and today’s one and it dawned on him so he’s prepared too. He told me to phone 111 😂 bless. But I’m over it now, riding the rollercoaster again and feeling like I can’t do anything until something significant happens so gone back to being relaxed. The mood swings are intense!

mrssunshinexxx · 22/02/2021 13:47

@May2311 I used them last time when TTC and am currently doing a study for clear blue using the 4 day ones I would advise getting them
What questions do you have and I will help

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 22/02/2021 13:50

@May2311 I've only started using them this month and didn't realised you couldn't stop and start so I may not be the best person to ask. Pretty simple though in you just pee on them and it gives you the result, no determining if the line is darker etc so simple from that perspective which I like.

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 22/02/2021 13:51

It has a little guide on when to start using them depending on your cycle length (which is where my confusion was as I'm quite irregular)

mrssunshinexxx · 22/02/2021 14:42

@May2311 @TheWhalesOnTheBus I know it's a faff but I have had 2 that I have flooded and then of course my FMU has gone too so I started to collect ina. Pot and dip instead

May2311 · 22/02/2021 14:59

@mrssunshinexxx @TheWhalesOnTheBus

Thanks ladies!

So the clearblue 4 day ones -

It will tell me when to start testing depending on normal cycle length?

I will then test once a day and will get to the point where I get a "static"? Which means I'm due to ovulate that day? Is that right?

If it is what will the 4 day fertile period be? Before my static?

Hope that makes sense 🤣 it's harder to explain in message! X

mrssunshinexxx · 22/02/2021 15:12

@May2311 yes if your periods are regular obviously this is simpler but it will tell you in the leaflet. It is advertised as minimum showing 4 days of high fertility but you will be likely to get more. Everyone who uses it for the first time on the first day each cycle will get a blank face first day this is because the holder is gathering your data.
For example This month I got blank face first day then straight to flashing for 3 days then static . Once you get a static this stays on the screen for 48hours.
Anymore questions just ask
