Anyone TTC #2?

Lots of threads about TTC baby #1 so looking for someone baby #2 support!

If so how old is your current DC and what made you realise it was the right time?

DD has just turned 1 and we are thinking about #2 very soon! DD took 14 months to conceive so I’m prepared for another long slog...although a bit panicky that it could happen sooner! Am also still shifting some baby weight that clung on nicely during both lockdowns Wink

Anyone else?

Fingers crossed everything is ok @mamaatthegym Flowers
I know it's easier said than done but I would stop testing now and save any unnecessary worry.

May2311 · 19/02/2021 12:28

Those of you who drink coffee have you cut it down/out whilst TTC? Both hubby and I are big coffee drinkers and think I need to cut down🙄 I cut it out completely whilst pregnant last time but that was more to do with the sickness rather than choice 🤣

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 19/02/2021 12:47

Sorry it's not the result you were hoping for @mamaatthegym hopefully you have just ovulated a little later than you thought.
@May2311 I'm still drinking decaf as I'm bfing would you switch to decaf? I think as long as you're not drinking gallons of coffee it'll be ok.
@Rayray20 I've started using the clear blue kit this month - I'll let you know how I get on! It's on offer in boots

dunkedbiscuit · 19/02/2021 13:07

@May2311 I cut caffeine out completing when pregnant, I haven’t yet cut it out whilst TTC but have tried to reduce how much I’m having

mrssunshinexxx · 19/02/2021 14:17

Had a headache for the last 3 days but think it's stress as far too early to be a symptom I hate headaches

noname55 · 19/02/2021 14:39

I've cut down to one cup a day. I get a headache without it so not sure how to cut it out completely! I'd quite like to though, worried about teeth staining more than anything.

Rayray20 · 19/02/2021 16:08

So guys I did a cheap test this morning bfn. At around lunchtime today dh made a standing joke why don’t you go and pee on a stick as he thinks I’m mad been doing it every morning for past 4 days so I did and I got the faintest of squinters. Been out and bought a first response and I can see a line. How do I post pics? I’m not sure if I’ve got my dates wrong as its quite faint but I can definitely see something.

Going to test again in the morning and see if there is any progression. I thought I was 12 dpo but that’s just my app which estimates my ovulation. Thinking I may of ovulated later I had a wipe of pale brown once on what I thought was 8dpo.

Xx

Are you new to mumsnet @Rayray20 if so you have to wait a day or so before you can post pics. If not there should be a paper clip at the bottom of the comment box!

I want to see Grin

I’m new I only posted this morning! But I will post tomorrow hopefully the paper clip will reveal
Itself and finger crossed tomorrow is a bit darker

Thanks @mamaatthegym xxx

mamaatthegym · 19/02/2021 16:52

@Rayray20 do update us!!

@noname55 taking your advice for sure and I’m not testing now. What will be will be and if AF hasn’t arrived by Tuesday (5 weeks by then) I’ll hold out another week and a bit and book an early scan.

THAT BEING SAID (lol sorry not sorry)

So, I went back upstairs and read the instructions on the CD digi pack (god knows why, doesn’t take a genius to wee on a stick) except that I didn’t wee on it, I dipped it. And I only dipped it for 5 seconds and on the instructions it said to dip for 20 seconds!

Now I’m wracking my brains wondering if I didn’t dip long enough for an accurate result Blush

@mamaatthegym hehe I had a little giggle at your post- on a serious note though you might be right about not dipping long enough for an accurate result- it makes sense & it must say hold it for 20 seconds for some reason otherwise it would just be 5 secs as with ovulation sticks etc. Z

Cantthinkofaname99 · 19/02/2021 18:09

Can I join the club? Trying to conceive #2, our son will be 3 in May. Been TTC since September so 6ish cycles. I said I would just relax and see what happens but after the first cycle of trying I was sure I was pregnant, AF 2 weeks late, didn’t do a test straight away and when I did it was a BFN, so no idea if I had early MC or my cycle just playing tricks on me. So after that no more relaxing and just stressing each month! Just started using OPKs as we probably don’t DTD enough (far to tired with a little one running around), and not been as regular as I used to be so I wonder if we are hitting the right days. On cd10 so just started using them, usually 26 day cycle so expecting a +ve on them soon.

We were thinking of having a break from TTC next cycle as like some others I don’t really want a Christmas baby, but after trying for a while I think we are just going to keep going.

I’m new to MN, just been stalking in the background for a bit so I’m not completely up with the lingo!

Good luck to everyone, fingers crossed we all get what we want soon!

mrssunshinexxx · 19/02/2021 18:51

@Rayray20 I want to see it too! Hope it lets you post in the am!

@mamaatthegym ermmmm yes I would of thought that defo makes a difference !! I always pee in my urine stream but definitely would make sense if you haven't held it long enough. DO ANOTHER TOMORROW Grin

mrssunshinexxx · 19/02/2021 18:52

Welcome @Cantthinkofaname99 what opks do you use ? I feel the same about Xmas baby but I'm just going to carry on because let's face it we would all be thrilled regardless of due date

Cantthinkofaname99 · 19/02/2021 19:15

@mrssunshinexxx I got some cheapish ovaview ones from Amazon , no idea what they are like. Can’t quite justify spending lots on clear view ones (not quite yet anyway)

@mamaatthegym I’ve only ever dipped OPK’s before, always used urine stream for pregnancy ones, could be more likely to get false negatives or less strong results if your not dipping for long enough?

mamaatthegym · 19/02/2021 19:25

@Cantthinkofaname99 @May2311 @mrssunshinexxx

Might be wishful thinking but it could make sense, come to think of it every time I’ve dipped the line has been lighter (on my cheapies) and then when I wee on them they are stronger!

Maybe I’m just a terrible dipper...

Either way I don’t want to use my other CB Digi tomorrow because it’s my last one so I’m going to be strong and stay put for now! Hopefully AF will stay away until Tues, I’ll be 5 weeks(ish) then and I’ll use the Digi...fingers crossed for a 2-3 result!

noname55 · 19/02/2021 19:28

I'm considering asking partner if we can continue TTC next month despite potential Christmas baby. Will see what happens this cycle! Still waiting for a positive OPK. I thought it might have been earlier this month as my lines were initially quite dark but looks like it'll be CD14/15 as usual - CD13 today.

mrssunshinexxx · 19/02/2021 19:37

If you don't say anything @noname55 would he even clock on ??

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 19/02/2021 21:22

Yeah I just wouldn't say anything @noname55

So opks I'm still bfing and my periods are irregular depending on how much DC feeds that month. The instructions say to start opks from the day depending on your shortest cycle in 6 months - which was cd9 for me. However looking at all my data, ff and natural cycles both think I'll ovulate around cd23. So when would you start testing? I did one yesterday which was low, not sure whether to wait a little bit before testing again. I'm using the clear blue so not cheap! If I carry on as the instructions say then I may run out before I even ovulate Confused

mrssunshinexxx · 19/02/2021 21:46

If you are using clear blue once you have started you need to carry on as it tracks all your data . Sorry I know it's annoying as they are expensive ! Maybe buy some cheapies off Amazon?? @TheWhalesOnTheBus

TheWhalesOnTheBus · 19/02/2021 21:49

Oh noooo I didn't realise that! I didn't do one today! Does that mean it's ruined for this month already?

mrssunshinexxx · 20/02/2021 06:48

Did you get a blank circle yesterday @TheWhalesOnTheBus

dunkedbiscuit · 20/02/2021 08:17

Morning everyone, @Rayray20 let us know how this mornings test looks!

@mamaatthegym that’s so annoying about the dipping / weeing length, that would be driving me mad!

Nobeautysleep · 20/02/2021 09:18

Morning everyone!
@mamaatthegym how are you? I totally get what you mean about the dipping!!
@TheWhalesOnTheBus I am still breastfeeding too!
I had my last period 19 jan, had some cramping 15th and 16th Feb, did a pregnancy test the 18th and it was bfn but I’ve still not got AF. I think breastfeeding is messing with my cycle!
