Anyone TTC #2?

Lots of threads about TTC baby #1 so looking for someone baby #2 support!

If so how old is your current DC and what made you realise it was the right time?

DD has just turned 1 and we are thinking about #2 very soon! DD took 14 months to conceive so I’m prepared for another long slog...although a bit panicky that it could happen sooner! Am also still shifting some baby weight that clung on nicely during both lockdowns Wink

Anyone else?

@mamaatthegym feel feee to post a pic on here if you like
I started my clear blue study on wed , blank face wed, flashing smiley yesterday and today just really really hope it will go to a static smile which means I am ovulating. 🤞 lots of stretchy CM

Mybobowler · 12/02/2021 19:19

Hello ladies! I haven't checked in on here for ages. @mamaatthegym I hope you get something a bit more conclusive soon, that twighlight zone is the worst! Fingers crossed for you.

So after what I'm pretty sure was a CP in mid-January, I ovulated really late last month and missed the boat. I'm on CD3 now and I think I'm over the disappointment of another period, I just want to start trying again. First month using OPKs so fingers crossed! And for you too @mrssunshinexxx - good luck! Do you usually use OPKs?

mrssunshinexxx · 12/02/2021 19:35

Yes I'm obsessed @Mybobowler this is only my second month though TTC no 2

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 08:03

Another flashing smiley for me so hope I get a static

mamaatthegym · 13/02/2021 08:27

@Mybobowler @mrssunshinexxx 12dpo BFN this morning Sad I had a very faint line on the same test with DD at 12dpo so I’m assuming AF is on her way now. Due Tuesday so just going to wait for that and then on to another cycle.

I literally had no AF symptoms this month which is why I was slightly hopeful! But I guess nothing is a symptom. I’m now worrying that it’s a bad sign I have no AF symptoms and if my hormones are all out of whack!

God no matter how much you prepare yourself for the second time round it doesn’t get easier!!

Urgh you just never know @mamaatthegym but I always prepare my self for the worst then a positive would be AMAZING

Mybobowler · 13/02/2021 13:31

Ohh I'm sorry @mamaatthegym the disappointment feels so crushing, no matter how much we tell ourselves not to get our hopes up.

I'm also catastrophising over here. My AF is still super heavy on Day 4 and I'm starting to worry if there's something (fibroids?!) going on. I've managed to convince myself already that there's a major problem and it'll never happen. Honestly, I am ridiculous.

MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 16:29

Could I please join? I have one DD (3) and we are about to start TTC for baby 2!

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 16:38

Of course @MrsRosaline are you using anything to track x

MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 16:41

Yes, I've got some OPKs. I used them this cycle to get a good idea of when ovulation might be. My periods been very irregular since having DD - some cycles 26 days, some 35!

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 17:10

Which opks do you use. @MrsRosaline atleast you have abit of a head start and know they are irregular I'm still waiting flr my period to return (breast feeding)

MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 17:17

How old is your DC? I am using Clearblue advanced as well as the Boots own brand ones. I had success with the Boots ones when TTC DD. Probably shouldn't use two different brands as the Clearblue ones are displaying peak at the moment, but the test line on the Boots one has gone from dark and solid to getting lighter so now I don't know which ones to trust! 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 17:54

I'm doing a study for the clear blue ones at the mo @MrsRosaline I also used them when TTC my baby

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 17:54

Sorry @MrsRosaline she's 7 months

MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 17:59

Ah so you want babies close in age?

What's the study? X

May2311 · 13/02/2021 18:08

Evening all!

Ive just found this thread and thought I would mark my place if that's ok. We have been discussing trying for baby no.2 the last couple of months as we want them close in age. My little girl is 9months old & hubby would start trying now if he had the final say 🤣 I am ready ( or very close to being ready) but still a little nervous if I did end up falling straight away!! How old are your firsts? Obviously DD is a lockdown baby but I wasn't too bothered by it at the time as it was just something I had to deal with but a bit nervous as obviously would prefer things to be more open this time round!!

Anyways I've started tracking my cycles so hopefully I can get a picture of where we are atSmile

Wishing everyone luck & going to try and catch up on the tread over next few days! Xx

lilacqueen · 13/02/2021 18:16

Im late to the party but I've just started trying. I'm very nervous as my first is now 12! But I'm also very excited, I've always yearned for another! Good luck all

mrssunshinexxx · 13/02/2021 18:26

@MrsRosaline yes definitely I'm gutted it hasn't already happened.

Just a general questionnaire on how easy they are to use etc

@May2311 my LO is 7months and I want to be pregnant like yesterday Grin

dunkedbiscuit · 13/02/2021 22:51

Hi @May2311 my first is just about to turn 2 (next week!)

On that subject, has anyone got any ideas for children’s lockdown birthdays? I was thinking maybe a treasure hunt or something in the house & garden..maybe?

mamaatthegym · 14/02/2021 00:03

Ooh an influx of newbies! Welcome TTCers!

@mrssunshinexxx @Mybobowler I tested again after I posted that and...still BFN. I am turning into a crazy POASer and I’m only on cycle 2 dammit! I said I’d be relaxed and I really am until I get to about 9dpo and it’s all over. Sanity goes out the window.

Unrelated but I put on a lot of weight after DD and since September I have lost about 2 stone, I really want to lose another stone before I get pregnant again so the only upside to me not being pregnant is I can focus on losing some more! At least it’s something to do (should probably change my username to mamaNOTatthegym though haha)

Well done on the weight loss @mamaatthegym and Grin re the name !

MrsRosaline · 14/02/2021 08:22

@mamaatthegym I also want to shift a bit of weight before getting pregnant again! Last time I gained 50KG. I suffered badly with HG, and would eat and eat even though I then threw up. Somehow in my mind I thought this would help. I took medication and sometimes it stopped the vomiting but never the nausea and eating my way through was the only way to cope! If it's going to be the same again I'd rather start at a lower weight!

dunkedbiscuit · 14/02/2021 08:24

Well done @mamaatthegym you’ve done really well with the weight loss! It has taken me 2 years to loose my pregnancy weight!

May2311 · 14/02/2021 09:00

@mrssunshinexxx - fingers crossed it happens soon! I don't know how it works- do you ovulate still even if periods haven't returned? ( you would think I know by now how our bodies work!!🤣)

@mamaatthegym well done on the weight loss!!

Do you ladies track BBT? If so how does it work( how to track ovulation etc?) I've tried googling but it's quite confusing!! Xx

mrssunshinexxx · 14/02/2021 09:04

Yes you will ovulate before period comes @May2311
