No AF and BFNs 🤷‍♀️

Hello! We are trying for our second child and I am frustrated. I am sure several of you can relate to being frustrated with this whole TTC thing. 😅 Anyways. AF was due 3 days ago and has not shown her ugly face yet. But I have also gotten nothing but negatives (and one invalid). I was planning on not testing again until AF is a week late. Anyone get their BFP that late or even later? I am irregular, so it could just be a late period? I just want to know if I really am pregnant or not, so I can move on! Thanks for any insight you all provide! 😊

@ImpatientMama good idea, I already have a doctors app tomorow which I'm going to speak about me possibly having irregular periods and why? Cais when I look back I've had 10 periods since baby and they have been cycle days, 27,42,22,27,27,33,22,27,27 and this one 36!!! I thought at first was due to body cha hung back from baby! But now thinking something not right

@HJen22 deffo I think it's because (don't want it to come across wrong caus not only reason!) I'm a nurse currently we wirk three 13 hour shifts a week with every 4th week been 4 13 hours shift (to pay bacn our lunch time! Unbelievable I know) I'm due bacn January and wish to cut my hours to spend more time with my babies! However because we want another baby I want to wait to cut hours as will effect my mat pay! So was hoping to go bacn to work 3/4 months preg so that I don't have to much time there before I'm bacn home with baby! I'm living Ben a hoise wife! Plus my eldest goes uni next year so want to spend much time with him as possible!!! Plus my age! 37 soon so knocking on 🤣🤣 plus would love small gap with babies supose will just have to stop been silly about it all and think few morw months won't mean anything!

@lastbany that's totally understandable! Everyone has their own reasons of why and when, it would be lovely to have two younger ones closer in ages. And definitely to cut hours. I can't wait to only work part time 😂 that's crazy you have to pay back your lunchtimes! I try to think oh what's another month but I always find myself thinking when I'd be due, when I could tell people etc. I was gutted to not be PG in October as then I knew it would be into the new year earliest that I'd be able to tell people if I was expecting.

I'm 33 in March and my BF is 38, I've not got any children yet and it's all I've ever wanted. I just didn't realise how hard it was going to be. I've always had a fear it would take me a while, no idea why, and then when my sister struggled it worried me even more. She has two beautiful boys and I want nothing more than to give them a baby cousin and her a niece or nephew. I have an 11 year old step daughter and I want her to be at the age where she will still be super into a baby, she's loves my sisters kids. All of my friends are also having babies, one just had twins, one is due December and one in January and I just really wish I could join them!

@HJen22 I did exactly the same!! My daughter is one in dec and I thought ah for Xmas I could have announced it! By putting it on her top saying have you seen baby new top! Or baby is getting a baby for Xmas! Something like tht !

@lastbany I would have loved to tell my family at Christmas as we did with our first. He turned one in June, and we were wanting him and his future sibling to be around 2 years apart. I know it is early in my journey, but at least last time I had periods until I was truly pregnant. This whole AF being late with negatives then positives then negatives thing is frustrating. I would love to stay in touch too!

It would have been so nice wouldn't have it! Trying to remain positive and the whole it will happen when it happens, what is meant to be etc but it's just so hard when I just want to cry today. I would love to keep in touch too, I am really glad to have had you both to chat too. I have avoided really properly talking to my BF about it since the BFN on Friday, he thinks I'm crazy worrying all the time.

I know, at least with AF coming when she's meant to you know, and can have a few down days and then start again! This is so frustrating just waiting!!

Hey everyone still waiting for AF ... I have gone through many motions since testing last week. I wrote here previously that I think my calculations were all off and also I have had a longer cycle before I just didn't realise... so since Thursdays test I have chilled out and now expecting period anyday but because it hadn't arrived at the weekend I'm back on the could I be train of thought and looking up more things on google so convinced myself I could be again... however back to square one now as my discharge has become thicker signalling AF i also have cramps but I've had them for an entire month so that doesn't really mean anything. I predict tomorrow or weds for AF but If not then I plan to test again weds am! ... still reading all of your journeys and wishing you those BFP's!

@sociallydistained it's so hard isnt it! After my 3rd BFN on Friday I haven't tested and have tried to take my mind off of it and keep busy. But now it's back to working (from home) and easy to start thinking about it! I feel like I could cry at any minute today! I have no idea when I ovulated either, but if it was any later than cd20 I'll not be PG anyway as only DTD that day and then was expecting AF so had a rest 😂 wishing everyone those BFPs too! Every day I expect AF but nothing. Not even really had the same cm as I was having last week, just the constant feeling of it starting. I'd tried so hard this month not to symptom spot on the lead up to AF too and now it's not came and it's all I've done!

@HJen22 it's mad cause I could either be 4 weeks pregnant and just now showing my BFP yet or I am not at all and about to start CD1 again which is just mad. I just think if it's CD1 then what the hell was going for this entire month with all the cramps and nausea

@sociallydistained same, this cycle started 21st October and feels forever! And I normally have around 25 day cycles so this is just crazy as I'm now onto day 34! Will see what the doctor says tomorrow! She was lovely last time I got bloods to check for pcos, it all came back fine but I didn't get a chat about it so I'm hoping for some feedback tomorrow and I can say about this long cycle. I just can't see how I could be PG and not had a BFP, it's gutting!

My cycle started the same day as you!

@sociallydistained no way! I should be well into my fertile week by now had AF shown on time since my cycles are normally pretty short! Annoying and hard not to look at it as a wasted opportunity 😔

I am the same I have been TTC since April
And cycles been regular but AF is now 10 days late and had 2 BFNs I have really sore breasts and feel hungry but I have no idea what’s happening. I understand how you all feel very frustrated!

Welcome to the party, @HT1335! I just scheduled my appointment with my doctor for Friday afternoon. I will test again Wednesday morning and they will probably test me while I am there Friday. So we will see what happens. Might have to do bloodwork or who knows. 🙄 I won't drink on Thanksgiving just I'm by some miracle pregnant. Hopefully my family doesnt read too into it. They suspected my pregnancy with my first when I didn't drink a couple years ago. Didn't tell them until Christmas.

@HT1335 that's the exact same as me! Been trying since April too and been regular with cycles and now 9 days late! It's crazily frustrating isn't it! I've had 3 BFNs and not going to test again until Friday if AF doesn't show. I'm pretty convinced now I'm not PG though! Is this your first time TTC?

@ImpatientMama I hope no one asks the question! I get asked it a lot, had one friend randomly message me asking if I was as she had a gut feeling (not gonna lie that got me excited) and my mum even asked and she never asks as she knows I don't like it when friends do! It would be lovely news to have for thanksgiving, I really hope you get your BFP and glad to hear you've managed to get a doctors appointment for Friday!

Yes it’s my first time TTC and it’s a lot harder than we expected I am 36 too but the go told me to continue TTC for one year before they would take action. I normally get spotting and I’ve had none so it feels different but I don’t want to get my hopes up to feel so disappointed again.

@HT1335 my first time too! I know, one of my friends fell pregnant first month and one by accident! Lots of us are in the same boat on here, I guess when friends take a while they maybe just don't say and I never ask when someone says they are expecting. It's one of those things, decided we are ready so want it to happen now haha! That's a shame the doctor said that, I read online it was 6 months! Could you try speaking to another doctor? I feel like my appointment tomorrow I'm going to be told to be patient. I can't bring myself to test again either, I can't face another one line 😔

I normally get spotting the day or night before too but had absolutely nothing this month. I really got my hopes up last month and how with AF going MIA it's like my body is playing a cruel joke on me!

We sound very similar it’s very strange as since April I have never been this late! I am going to ring the GP again I just keep putting it off. I think I will test again on Friday if AF isn’t here and then call the gp as I’m totally at a loss as to what’s going on! I did an OPK and only got the flashing face and not the high fertility so I don’t even know if I ovulated, I’m still learning what everything means and how it all works so I’m finding this really helpful. Fingers crossed for us both 🤞🏻

@HT1335 I have never been this late either! Since coming off the mini pill the first two months were 29 days then the rest were between 24 and 26! Last month I ovulated day 9 so it then predicted a 21 day cycle which had me worrying. It was a few days late but still a 24 day cycle so normal for me. After really thinking last month was THE month I decided not to track at all and now I'm regretting it. Annoying as I felt like this was the first month in a while I'd been a bit more laid back about it. I know, I don't even really want the doctor to say bloods as I just can't handle being told over the phone it's a BFN I don't think!

Ah I see people speaking of the flashing face, are those the clear blue? I might try those next month, I just use the cheap strips and I'm never 100% sure as when I take a photo the amount can change and I have to kind of just go with the average! I should really just take one photo and stick with it!

@HJen22 yea the clear blue as I used the cheap ones at first and didn’t get a positive that I had ovulated but I wasn’t doing it properly so I bought the clear blue and I’m still confused. I think the gp can do a blood test for your levels of LH and I wanted to ask for that too, I wish I could speak to a fertility nurse but with Covid it’s very hard to speak to anyone. But I’m still getting absolutely no sign of AF it’s very hard to just keep waiting whilst you’re in limbo. But yes fingers crossed we hopefully get some good news towards the end of the week!!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Or just an answer as to what is happening with our bodies would do!

@HT1335 it's all so confusing isn't it, one month I did the OPKs I had a really high peak up to maximum and then another wasn't any where near as high! I know, with Covid it doesn't make things very easy right now does it! I'm prepared for my doctor to just say I have to wait. I was very lucky she organised bloods in the first place but that was just cos of the family history I think! Interested to know what was tested and what levels came back, I know it was fine and I didn't need a follow up but I'd like to know none the less and speak about my concerns still. I know I was just saying that to my BF, this limbo is the worst!

Joining late to the party here ladies but I am exactly the same and now worried. Af due Friday I believe and no sign of it at all and tested negative, Saturday Sunday and today.. going to wait a few days before testing again but nice to know I’m not on my own!

It’s awful isn’t it! I called the doctors today and am there for bloods in two weeks as we have a history of pcos. I have been off contraception for 3 months now but this is our second month actively trying and tracking ovulation so it’s all very new to me!
