No AF and BFNs 🤷‍♀️

Hello! We are trying for our second child and I am frustrated. I am sure several of you can relate to being frustrated with this whole TTC thing. 😅 Anyways. AF was due 3 days ago and has not shown her ugly face yet. But I have also gotten nothing but negatives (and one invalid). I was planning on not testing again until AF is a week late. Anyone get their BFP that late or even later? I am irregular, so it could just be a late period? I just want to know if I really am pregnant or not, so I can move on! Thanks for any insight you all provide! 😊

@HT1335 I’m not entirely sure as I haven’t done it but I think there may be an app which you can input your temp into and just use normal thermometer off Amazon.

I believe it temp goes up very slightly once ovulated and will stay up if conceived!

I know how you feel as that’s what I had with them last month and they’ve sent me a letter for a scan but stay positive as it has happened for me so I’m sure it will for you too I really have faith xx

@HT1335 I'm sorry it wasn't a BFP for you 😔 had really hoped it would be for you! It's so annoying when the cycle just messes up isn't it!

I have taken BBT a few of the months of trying, I got a Femometer one off eBay and then input it into the app. You have to try and do it within the hour every day, you pop it under your tongue and it gives little beeps when it's got your temp. The idea is that it will confirm ovulation when you have a temp increase, so it will confirm when it's passed and you tend to get a dip right before ovulation. I was finding it hard to do it at the same time, and you've got to do it before you do anything else and after 6 hours uninterrupted sleep I think it is. But it was good for confirming it and putting my mind at ease along with OPKs. X

@HJen22 oh thanks that’s really helpful advice! Well in jan I will have literally tried everything going so if that doesn’t work I really don’t know what will! But in March/ April time the go said that they will look to refer us sooo we shall see I mean I’m trying to remain positive that we don’t have to go through all that and it happens naturally for us

@HT1335 your welcome 😊 it was good to do but I felt like I got a bit obsessed with looking into the chart too much, so I would try and just ignore it after ovulation confirmed. The app also would say if it thought there had been an implantation dip which got my hopes up a bit!

I am in the exact same boat time wise as you, end of March/start of April will be a year for us too and GP said to call back then too for a referral. Everything crossed for us it happens in the next few months and we don't have to 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

It's so nice to have people to talk to in the same position, really appreciate all the help and advice too 🥰

Oh hopefully I don’t become too stressed with the bbt I mean I’ll try it so I’ve have it a go and see how I get on... let’s hope it works! It might give me a clearer idea of what is actually going on with my body as it seems a bit all over the place.

Yeah give it a go! I think once you get used to doing it it becomes second nature. And it's good for the app to confirm you've ovulated (I hope I was doing it right haha) so I think after having break from OPKs and BBT this month I'll do both next month.

Are you going to give conceive plus a go? I think my boyfriend might think I'm going ott with trying if I suggest it but it's made for a reason isn't it! I don't think he'll want me to add and stress over something else! X

@HJen22 yeah I’ve ordered some of the conceive plus I told my partner and he pulled a face and said oh sounds lovely! But we will give that a go too. I’ve just said what an expensive thing this ttc has been so far! But it will be worth it once we get the outcome we want!
Yeah I see what you mean about stressing that’s why I didn’t do anything this month, you feel like you don’t know what to do for the best don’t you

@HT1335 I may try and broach the subject nearer the time of next cycle haha! Personally I think it's worth a try!!

When I was speaking about the doctors I reminded him if we do have to, it will be both of us going at some point, his face about what he will need to do made me laugh 😂

I know, it's hard to know what to do for the best isn't it! But after my meltdown on Xmas Eve decided I just needed a little rest from tracking for this month anyway! X

@HT1335 @HJen22 good thing about the conceive plus is if you didn’t want them to know, they didn’t have to really! Just use the applicator 10 mins before anything! Mine never came out after unless I went straight to the toilet.

I can’t be sure if that’s why we conceived but I would definitely use it again as I think, you wouldn’t know if partner had low sperm count and if so this is meant to be really useful!

I’m sure it will all be fine, one of my friends who had been trying since last October has just conceived! Xx

@HJen22 oh yeah a break from it all does you good! Otherwise you would drive yourself mad constantly thinking about it and being stressed so I don’t blame you

Haha I can imagine! It’s not nice to go through all this is it but if it means we get the result we want will have to grin and bear it 😂

Well I will let you know how we manage with using it, it won’t be for a few weeks now by the time I have my week of AF whenever that may be, I’ve a feeling it may be eventful but hopefully it works! And I hope your month of being a bit more relaxed about things works for you, I really do 🤞🏻X

So glad I found this thread. I’m Cd34....however I do have irregular periods but thought over the past couple of months they were evening out a little bit. This is the longest I’ve had since September. Cramping and breast pain. Not testing yet. I’m too scared!

We’ve been TTC for 16 months. We have a Referral to the infertility clinic at our local hospital end of Jan (waited 5 months for the appointment!!!) does anybody know what the first appointment will entail?

I’m crossing everything I can call them up before and cancel as I’ll get a BFP before then but not feeling hopeful xx

@Emc16x hello and welcome! I don’t know I’m really sorry but I do hope you also get your BFP before you go for your appt! It’s awful when you feel that you don’t want to test incase you get the disappointment again I know exactly how you feel.

I suppose if you go to the appt I’m guessing they do further tests and see what the problem is and then provide you with some options. Is it your fist time ttc? And how old are you do you don’t mind me asking

I’m 28. TTC for baby no 1. DH is 35 and so so desperate to be a Dad.

I came off my depo injection September 2019 and had irregular periods ever since. Hopefully it’s been the injection just making it’s way out and no other underlying problems.

Ive heard dh may have to do a semen analysis. I could get scans to see if any tubes are blocked. And possibly start a course of clomid to kick start ovulation! My 21 day bloods said I didn’t ovulate for 3 months straight but my clear blue digital ov tests always say I do. So so odd.

Still painful cramping and boobs today! Back ache too. No sign of AF. Might go and buy a test to do tomorrow. Just so scared of being let down.

I’ve already worked out my due date, my scan dates, when and how I’d be able to tell people. I do it every cycle!

@Emc16x yeah I done a test yesterday and it was negative as usual! I came off the pill March/ April time and had fairly regular AF initially and now they’ve gone really irregular it’s very strange but I had been on the pill for years plus I’m 36 so I know I’m classed as older.
Oh yeah I would get a test and then you know but I understand the disappointment you feel and why you would put off doing one but you never know!
Has the gp done any bloody or tests with either of you already? X

GP did blood tests for me in June, July and Aug. Asked me to wait till December to call them for a hospital referral but after a good friend told me she was pregnant and it was all by chance I called the docs crying my eyes out and they referred me straight away so the first appointment was jan 29th at the local hospital!!

Are you TTC for no1? How long have you been TTC? We actually have up this month as we’ve also moved in with my parents so we’ve had zero chance to get in the mood apart from the once!

@Emc16x yeah it’s my fist time ttc been trying since March April time so around 9 months with no luck! I’ve spoken to my gp but I only got general health bloods take no hormone one ones or anything so I’m going to phone up next week and request this then I would get my referral in March if nothing happens by then.

CD38. Still haven’t plucked up the courage to do a test. I stated spotting on 2nd Jan. Started pink and now brown. I’m praying it’s implantation. Again, it’ll be a miracle but something just feels different.

@lastbany I am currently testing for ovulation. No high or peak tests yet. I am cd 14, which is when I believe I ovulated last cycle, so I am sure it can happen any day now. 🤞 So I am not in the dreaded tww yet!

@ImpatientMama wow! When did you start testing? I had cheap tests but I couldn't get them to work! Tried holding in pot if pee longer but some reason didn't wirk! So I'm going off flo app but tbh my cm was consistent to the dates! X

@lastbany I did last cycle from cd 7-17. I started testing this cycle on CD 6, not sure why i started so early. 🤦‍♀️ I only tested once a day until cd 10, then tested twice both cycles. When I got my high/peak on the first cycle, I then waited until i tested low again (which was a couple days later) and then only once a couple more days to make sure it stayed low. I stopped testing after that. I have been peeing in a small cup (shot glass size 🤣) and dipped the strips. I use easy@home which are cheap and have been happy so far. Use it with the Premom app where I can input pics of the strips. Last cycle I just got the pack of ovulation tests. This time I got the pack with ovulation and pregnancy tests. I am tired of wasting money on tests and they are all negatives. 😭
