As we agreed - starting a fresh thread before our original shuts down. Will post this new link into the old thread so everybody can find us!

In the meantime ~ sprinkling it with pink and blue baby pixie dust

and splashing with baby glue so lo's stick around forever ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lunch out sounds nice. I'm thinking of going to hang out in a coffee shop with vast mugs of coffee, a plate of cakes, and read in peace. Maybe not that exciting, but something I don't get to do that often

lissiethevampireslayer · 14/10/2007 10:05

sounds lovely splishplosh

bucky, hi! how are you doing? are you ready to ttc again now? GBS is Group B Strepptacocous(sp) its an infection that some women carry in their vagina. NOT an STD btw

alittleBITEshy · 14/10/2007 10:33

lissie - sorry, so slap me if it's naughty of me but i had a little giggle cos the instant image of what you said there was of womean wrapping up GBS and literally carrying it in their vagina.
childish, and i know it's not funny but it made me smirk. sorry

lissiethevampireslayer · 14/10/2007 10:38

lol, just didnt want to put fanjo (i giggle at the word vagina tho)

spookykitty · 14/10/2007 11:00

Morning all I'm still feeling ill have cough and am drowning in phlegm - yuck! CD11 here and no BDing this month will have to get some in tonight so to speak DP away tomorrow night.

spilshspolsh - am so of your carefree day, DP has gone into work for a few hours he started a new job (same company) this week so wants to make a good start but this means I have the DDs who are currently fighting over who gets to sit in a dolls travel cot, hopefully when he gets back we will take them out or something tire them out, weathers quite nice here.

lissie - GBS in your uterus is nasty and so unlucky, can they not do something with mega does of antibiotics prior to getting pregnant to try and shift it (SK used to be a microbiologist pre DC) I think every pregnant women should be swabbed and tested for it too. Seems such an easy test and would save lives, it's all money though isn't it?

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday x

lissiethevampireslayer · 14/10/2007 11:07

i dont know, will discuss it with the cons next monday, just seems odd that all of my uterine pgs have failed at the 6w mark (when the heart starts beating) and the only one that stuck was the ep

hope you feel better soon x

splishsplosh · 14/10/2007 11:08

sorry you're feeling ill still SK. Can't make dealing with the dcs any easier - no more taking to your bed when ill is there?

Anyway, bye for now, as off to get a stack of magazines, or a new book, and then coffee and cakes it is. Also got to buy pg test, as have to see if bfn to show mc complete, or i positive, will have to go back to dr, and then for another scan, and maybe ercp

hope everyone has a lovely day

lissiethevampireslayer · 14/10/2007 11:11

heres hoping for a BFN, seems odd saying that!

spookykitty · 14/10/2007 11:11

thanks have just popped into your tea shop and ordered a big hot chocolate

spilsh - enjoy your day off sounds good to me time to recharge yor batteries.

SK is getting her first afternoon off this year with her DP next month as SIL has offered to come up and look after the DDs he is taking me to lunch at Wagamama then Christmas shopping.

ladylush · 14/10/2007 20:18

Hi everyone - starlight sorry to hear about your awful m/c experience

Hi Lissie How's it going? Btw, do you think I would know if I had GBS? Was wondering whether I should get tested. I didn't have a really long labour (14 hours) but it was induced (drip) so continuous contractions pretty much from start to finish and 4 hours pushing. Quite a bit of messing about too (internals, ventouse and sutures). I think I am paranoid about everything now!

TJuice · 14/10/2007 20:35

hi everyone!

so sorry to see new names on here . . . hope you are doing okay and getting the support you need.

ronshar - am really hoping that it all worked out okay for you and was just a scare?

I just got back from Paris this morning - had the most fab time and ate cakes for ALL OF US including:

  • moist and yet crispy raisin escargot pastries *lots of pastel-coloured macaroons with cream
  • massive eclairs with heavy custard filling
  • some kind of rum cake thing
  • choux buns

plus
creme brulee
little buttery quiches
lots of chocolate (even normal bar chocolate over there is just awesome)
sausage and this amazing stuff called aligot (mashed potato with garlic and cheese)
goat cheese salads
red wine galore
etc

plus i went shopping and bought some lovely new clothes and smellies from l'occitane.

and i totally forgot about TTC for a while which was great and prolly necessary . . .

so i am feeling fat and rather positive -we are all going to get our babies. . .yes we are.

(also my dp proposed again, this time with a ring )

cricri · 14/10/2007 21:01

TJuice - Congratulations!!! Do tell us about the proposal and the ring! Sounds like you had a fab time in Paris and it will certainly be a weekend you'll remember forever. I'm really pleased for you - it's nice to have some good news.

ladylush · 14/10/2007 21:15

CONGRATS TJUICE C'mon then, spill the beans girlfriend!

Glad you had a great time in Pareee (tried to say it with a French accent but failed). I went there with dh about 12 years ago and it was great but we were so on a budget as we were both earning crap money and our hotel was a bit of a dive. Oh yeah and then someone tried to break in to the car (we had driven there in dh (then dp)old clapped out car to save money cos we were then travelling on to South of France. Anyway, good times It's not the money that counts, it's the company. That said I would like to go there and do the whole luxury thing one day

spookykitty · 14/10/2007 21:28

Tjuice -

your trip sounds lovely all that food and being proposed to, c'mon give us all the details, heres hoping you'v came back with more than the L'occitane goodies

ladylush - your labour sounds horrendous poor you still it's worth it isn't it, heres to a better one next time x

Katie3677 · 14/10/2007 22:17

Hi, I'm new to this thread but thought it looked like a good one to join...I am TTC after m/c that started on 30th July and took a total of 6 weeks, but AF arrived today, so back to square one. Looking forward to this thread bringing us all lots of luck.

ClairePO · 14/10/2007 22:18

Congrats TJuice, being proposed to in Paris, hpw lovely!!! I take it you said yes??

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 09:03

hi katie, sorry you are here, but this will be a lucky thread, i can feel it in me waters!

Tjuice, ooooh, congratulations! details please!

ladylush GBS is itermittant, they found it on my placenta, which is how we knew it had got up there, have you asked to go over your labour notes? there should be a record on there of any abnormalaties. i was vv ill after ds was born, fever, agony, and v delirious. but you could also ask your specialist to include GBS into your tests. are you seeing a specialist yet?

aquababe · 15/10/2007 09:20

well two weeks on seems like I'm ready to ttc. Got very very drunk sat night and pounced dh wh obligingly told the couple whose house we were in
trying to put up all mc reminders. don't know what I'm meant to do with green book got a little scan pic which I'm not sure whether to leave out or not. makes me sad but I also (ehem) talk to my baby using it. not sure which is healthier or helpful. my mum thinks I should put it away somewhere, but I don't know.

congrats tjuice.
I hooked up with my dh the second time (long story)in Paris and love the city
and love engagement stories too.

Lissie - thanks for that poem cried like a baby.

Katie - sorry you've joined us
starlight - my dh & I found it very important to see our little one. we really would have been so much more upset to lose our lo down the toilet

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 09:31

oh aquababe, if it helps, please keep it out. or make a little box for your angel, put in the pic, green book and a letter. that way you will always have him/her near you x

ronshar · 15/10/2007 09:35

Morning.

Tjuice fantastic weekend. All those cakes I love Macaroons, lovvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeee them.

I seem to have stopped bleeding!!! Sorry if tmi but I dont seem to have passed anything of any note! I was expecting to see the sac etc! I have lost the breast pain and they dont seem to be as big.
I have made an appointment with GP this morning so not sure if still pregnant or not!

Lissie can you please stop reprinting that poem. It is so beautiful that it makes me cry. Everytime. It is the last bit that finishes me off everytime I read it.
Welcome back to WMMC.

Hello to everyone, I hope this Monday brings a better week.

ladylush · 15/10/2007 09:42

Ronshar - glad you have stopped bleeding. Still hoping everything is ok for you Hope you are not left in limbo too long

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 09:43

sorry about the poem ronshar,

can you get a scan now? ring them up! have you done a HPT? i so badly want this to work for you x

ladylush · 15/10/2007 09:47

Ronshar - slightly unethical I know, but have you thought about saying you are having abdominal pain and that if you have had m/c that you are worried about risk of infection due to .......sorry, hate this term..............retained products. Therefore, that you would like a scan.

I usually have a pretty strong moral code but when it comes to obstetrics I will tell lies conscience free to get scanned (not that I've needed to - luckily).

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 09:48

me too ladylush.

ladylush · 15/10/2007 09:54

Lissie - I don't think it's likely that I had gbs. I read my labour notes after the birth and there was nothing about it, I wasn't sick etc - went home the next day.

As for the "specialist" - had one scan where they checked the uterus. Normal apart from one ovarian cyst which they think will go away on its own but are going to rescan. Then two lots of bloods - APA and Chromosomes. Still waiting on the latter - first ones normal. The next scan is in November. The guy doesn't say much. I don't feel very confident about him at all
I would like someone with authority to say "Right Mrs Lush, we'd like to do abc and depending on these results look at xyz etc." I think I will have to be more pushy when I go back.
