As we agreed - starting a fresh thread before our original shuts down. Will post this new link into the old thread so everybody can find us!

In the meantime ~ sprinkling it with pink and blue baby pixie dust

think so. did you see the list of q's i took with me to see the doc. im normally vv placid but i was like a rabid dog with everything he said, i made him take it apart and explain it, it has helped with the way they treated me. if you speak with authority they are more likely to take notice!

spookykitty · 15/10/2007 09:58

I agree with ladylush and lissie about the scanning thing you have had bleeding for days you NEED a scan, I think it's disgraceful they make pregnant women wait not knowing whats going on, it's not good for you mentally.

ronshar · 15/10/2007 09:59

Oh normally I have no trouble telling fibs to the NHS as normally this is the only way to get seen quickly. I used to work in NHS so I know it is the loudest voice who gets the most attention. I am going to see quack first just to pretend to do it properly. If not happy will be straight on to EPU for a scan! And I will not be fobbed off with no point in scan before 6 weeks because if you go to private clinic they will scan you from first day of missed AF!!!!
I am in a positive frame of mind today as I am very quietly praying that my little bean has held on to life inside me, and she wants to live just as much as I want her to live.

I have been reading lots of threads this weekend but not posting. There does seem to be a common issue for all women. It seems to make a huge difference as to where you live as to the level of care you recieve.
Why is our country so shit?

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 10:00

and i had a scan at 5w with ds (after a bleed, i told them that i wasnt sure of my dates) and we saw the little bean. the only reason they dont scan before 6w is because at 6w the heart starts beating

aquababe · 15/10/2007 10:01

i'm in kent and got scan at 5weeks(4+6 to be precise) but my doc was very adament as he thought it might have ectopic

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 10:02

dont know ronshar, i feel v positive for you come lil bean x

aquababe · 15/10/2007 10:03

i should also add that it's taken me 30 years to get a decent doc.

spookykitty · 15/10/2007 10:04

Am keeping everything crossed for you as well ronshar x

ladylush · 15/10/2007 10:07

Ronshar I agree - obstetric postcode lottery I was scanned at 5 weeks with ds, again at 7 weeks. Scanned after 6 weeks with ones I m/c but it's because I wanted to leave it a bit later.

goingfor3 · 15/10/2007 10:14

ronshar great news that the bleeding has stopped. Fingers crossed you can get a scan to have some peace of mind. My gp didn't want to refer me to the epu as so many women have bleeding in pregnancy, she only gave me a referal when I told her epu had arranged an appointment I just needed the paperwork from her. I am so glad I rang epu first as I should have been refered to them as soon as I got pregnant anyway!

spookykitty · 15/10/2007 10:20

My EPU told me to phone them direct next time I'm pregnant at 7 weeks not to bother with GP and I can go back at 10 weeks if I have any concerns too.

aquababe - I have a little pic of the one I lost and am writing a little letter and putting it in a box, I am trying to think of something to do on the due date too maybe a tree or name a star.

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 10:28

i too have an open pass to our local epu as soon as i get pregnant.

ronshar · 15/10/2007 10:36

Right thats it. I am going to shout at GP.
If you see on the news, woman arressted for assaulting NHS staff in Sussex that will be me.
Can you post my bail????
So much for better health care for the rich people in southeast. Dont see no rich people round here! Or better health care!
Ps in case you hadnt noticed Ronshar is a little bit this morning.
I do not want to be sitting around waiting for a MC to complete or for it to be a viable pregnancy and me not know. They dont tell people with cancer to wait and see what happens do they? I know its not the same but really.

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 10:46

agree totally, get angry. ring your epu now, tell them you think you are 6+2 and have been bleeding/had cramps but no clots. that should do it. let us know!

ronshar · 15/10/2007 10:51

oooo you are a bad influence on me young lady. On phone now.

ronshar · 15/10/2007 10:59

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Why are they so rubbish.

Apparently the criterior are that you have to be 6 weeks + or they wont see you as until then there is no sac or 'stalk' to see. It will be just an empty sac space which wont tell them if I have MCed or not. Even then I have to see GP to get referall as you cant self refer to this EPU.
I am going to GP anyway to see if he will do some bloods or make the referall for Thursday when I am 6 weeks exactly.

ronshar · 15/10/2007 11:01

I forgot to tell the little porkies. Lady on the phone was really nice and sympathetic. Took me by surprise.

goingfor3 · 15/10/2007 11:02

Hopefully the gp will do some bloods. I called epu on a thursday and got an appointment for the next wednesday so even if you could self refer you may still have to wait until thursday for an appointment. Some people don't understand how important peace of mind is!

TJuice · 15/10/2007 11:48

ronshar - fingies crossed, fingies crossed.
i also have six months of early scans promised at my gynae's, on the same referrral from my mc. i hope you can get in somewhere quickly.

engagement story - well, he actually proposed very casually while we were hanging out in the park this summer. he mumbled something about "taking things to the next level" which i took to be something about anal sex as that was an ongoing joke between us!

this time, with the ring was after a great concert (Amp Fiddler at this cool venue called Maroquinerie in Paris), we were sitting outside in this kind of beer garden, having a drink and we just kind of fumbled in his pocket and brought it out . . .was really mellow and nice.

spookykitty · 15/10/2007 12:12

aww TJuice thats lovely congratulations any plans for the big day yet or are you as chilled as me about it (we got engaged 1999 still not married) I said I'm waiting until the DDs are old enough to be my bridesmaids!

ronshar - heres hoping for Thursday x

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 13:03

aw, thats lovely Tjuice. ronshar, have you rung your gp?

ClairePO · 15/10/2007 13:40

Afternoon all, just popped in to let you know its apparently national chocolate week!!!

Ronshar good luck with speaking to the Doc and getting a scan appointment organised for Thursday

ronshar · 15/10/2007 13:52

Well it turns out I am an idiot. I had my dates wrong. I was 5 weeks yesterday. Not that that makes any difference as did a wee stick which came back negative.
GP was lovely even tried to get me into EPU. Witch on the phone held the company line and said no scans until after 6 weeks. GP did say that no chance of her getting to 6 weeks but still no joy.
I have forms for bloods but seems pointless to me. I asked about any further support/treatment and GP said not until you have 3 MC as 1/2 is classed as bad luck!!

I am now waiting for body to decide to give my little bean up. With out a scan I am in limbo as to wether there is anything inside or was it a chemical pregnancy?? I shall not know. We are going to France on monday which is my 6 week. So I think I may lie through my teeth and just turn up at EPU on Thursday.

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 14:00

ronshar, i'm so sorry. this is so cruel. i hate this "3 mc rule" its disgusting and wicked.

i'm sorry, but i have to ask did you do the test at the doctors?

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 14:01

and please do the bloods, just to be safe.

i am thinking of you my sweet x
