As we agreed - starting a fresh thread before our original shuts down. Will post this new link into the old thread so everybody can find us!

In the meantime ~ sprinkling it with pink and blue baby pixie dust

and splashing with baby glue so lo's stick around forever ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mich10 - I got pregnant with my DS (he's 1 now) at 39 (had him when I was 40). Okay, he's not my first baby(he's my second), but my first was 20 years prior to that when I was 20 years old. I've had 2 m/c within the last 6 months, and we're still ttc now. But DEFINITELY take time to heal - emotionally and physically! Feel free to vent here, we've all been there and are here to be supportive!

iliketosleep · 22/10/2007 16:09

oh ffs

my internet tests came today and i thought "hmm theses are strange looking contraptions, let me try one" as you do!

it came up with a faint line

it has surprised me as its 4 in the afternoon and ive drank LOADS! today as my friend has been here, cup of tea every 5 minutes friend.

I was really relying on them giving me bfns as the last time i got a faint line on a ebay test i was actually pg. now i have a craving to go out and buy a cb but dp wont let me

so im not going to drink or wee for 4 hours (ouch) and see whats what

iliketosleep · 22/10/2007 16:11

never thought i would wish for a bfn again

07mumstheword · 22/10/2007 16:13

ILTS I don't believe it! It's yet another faint line but IT'S A LINE! How about a compromise with DH, buy a CBD and use it tomorrow or Weds? So many faint lines on different tests can't be wrong? I hope.

iliketosleep · 22/10/2007 16:15

im going to defy him im gonna go buy a twin pack of cb and take one tonight and one tomorrow just because i can lol im like a spoilt child

07mumstheword · 22/10/2007 16:15

Can I have your BFP? You can have mine next cycle. LOL

07mumstheword · 22/10/2007 16:16

I love defiance! Can't wait to find out what it says.

Hello starlight Sorry to hear that, your situation could be different to mine as you were futher gone, I'm sure someone else will know. Your cycles are quite long then. Mine can be anything between 27-32 days.

Yes it is so unfair.

iliketosleep · 22/10/2007 16:59

ok i couldnt wait the amount ive been drinking today and cb was a bfn and took ebay test with same sample and that was bfn too not 1 trace of a line, so im going to leave it now till the morning and see what happens

aquababe · 22/10/2007 17:34

i'm being very good and not testing. Today would be the earliest I would get a bfp as i had been 26 day cycle the previous 3 times before mc. however i can be anything between 26+32 so am not even opening the drawer with cb stick in.

I found knowing for so long last time painful and want to hold off for as long as possible.
however I'm very bloody impatient.

starlight I understand what you mean about having done this already. grrrrr

iliketosleep · 22/10/2007 17:36

can we swap places and you keep testing over and over and over and i wont open the drawer

i need handcuffing to the radiator and not being set free for around 8 days!!

katendmom · 22/10/2007 17:49

Mich10 I am so terribly sorry about your loss. Like other girls on this thread have already said - this is a good place to come and vent among girl-friends who have gone through a similar experience... and then to share your great news, right TJuice?

As far as your DH goes... I have to be honest with you - we all deal with loss in different ways. My DH and I were the opposite of your situation. I wanted to start TTC right away and he wasn't ready. Just talk about everything amongst yourself... don't get angry in silence. He is going through it in his way... you're in your way. Neither one is better, both are different. And good luck!

Girls, as far as how to time OV, etc after mc - I have read many times (SORRY) that you cannot use neither you first day of mc bleeding nor D&C date as the first date of the cycle. Somehow it doesn't work like that. Now, that's note to say that you can't TTC in the first month but you just can't time your OV, EDD, etc very accurately - that not until you get your first scan which they do earlier in cases like that

ILTC girl... you're going to drive yourself crazy! How many sticks did you go through? LOL Just relax and act like you're pg - take care of yourself, eat well, take your folic and vitamins and SAVE SOME MONEY for nappies! LOL

ladylush · 22/10/2007 18:29

ILTS - you poor thing. You are driving yourself insane! Go to the dr/epu and ask for hcg bloods.

Mich10 - so sorry to hear of your miscarriages. Sod the neighbours. You and your dh are the only people who matter. Talk to each other and be honest about how the situation has affected you. It helps if you at least understand how eachother feel, even if you don't feel the same. I wanted to ttc straight away. DH would've happily waited but I deal with it best by trying again. Keeps me occupied iyswim. It'll take time to get your head around all of this so don't be hard on yourself and give yourself some tlc.

grinningbee · 22/10/2007 18:29

Hi gang,

Long post - get a cuppa!

Thanks for the good wishes for the scan today.

All over and done with now. They tried scanning normally, but of course had to go in with their "magic wand", lol. I thought they would so I was expecting it this time.

Everything has gone and the lining has already built up to 5mm, so it all looks healthy apparently. One thing they did spot this time was a fibroid. I have always wondered if I had one of those as I have heavy and painful periods. Now I know! They said it is only small, and on the back wall of the womb so it won't cause a problem or be in the way. Hurrah!

More good news - I have been told I can start trying again straight away, no need to wait for AF to appear. The best thing though is that when (you'll note I said when - I'm being positive!!) I get pg again I am allowed to ring them directly to get an early scan. They told me they usually do it one week later than when you mc'd. In my case I mc'd at 9+3 but the baby died at 6 weeks, so I can have a scan at 7 weeks.

The swabs they took on my last visit are all ok, so it wasn't an infection that caused the mc. I'm pretty certain it was either my anaphylactic shock, or something chromasomal (sp?).

I'm feeling a lot more positive now I've been declared ready to go again. Still rather tearful, but I guess that's normal.

Mich10 Please don't feel at 37 you are past it and have to give in! I'm so sorry to read your news. If a baby is what you really want, don't give up.

I will be 37 in 11 days. I had my mc on the 11th Oct and am ttc#1. If you feel the need to rant and rave or talk about anything at all, please don't feel shy! I have found this thread to be amazingly helpful, and all the girls here are lovely (and they loooove cake!).

I was given a leaflet today about mc'ing and to be honest it didn't tell me anything that I haven't read here.

Sorry if I made anyone crave donuts the other day. DH and I had to go to the shop today on the way back from the hospital and ended up with some pan au chocolate.... naughty but nice!

Big hugs everyone

iliketosleep · 22/10/2007 18:36

oioi and battered sausage

07mumstheword · 22/10/2007 20:13

Blimey ILTS I didn't expect that result, how bloody frustrating for you, it must be driving you insane. Perhaps First morning urine required? Maybe Ladylush has the right idea go & get blood tests, if you make an appointment soon you'll probably have to wait a few days for it anyway.

GG I'm so glad your appointment went well today. You're ready to start again hoorah! goodluck.

Lilypink · 22/10/2007 20:28

Hi, can I join you all? I have been told that this is a friendly safe thread to be on.

I have just been on the BPF due June 2008 thread but found out today that my little bean has died - I was meant to be 7 weeks but the sac only measured 4 or 5. I had a mc in July so totally devastated that it has happened again.

I have a little girl who is 16 months. What is hurting me the most is that I feel like I am failing her in not giving her a little brother or sister

07mumstheword · 22/10/2007 20:35

lilypink sorry you've had reason to seek out this thread but you are very welcome. I've had two v early mc's in 6 months and my dd is 2.5 I know what you mean as I really want a sibling for her now, it will happen it might just take a little longer.

cricri · 22/10/2007 20:43

Hi everybody,
I've been away for the weekend on a hen party (great fun by the way!) and it took me ages to catch up on all your posts.
TJuice - Congratulations! I'm so pleased for you, what fantastic news.
ILTS - how many tests have you done now?! What utterly confusing results. Maybe try testing again in a couple of days (if you can wait that long) and get a dr's appointment in the meantime?
Mich10 - So sorry about your loss and that you had to join us. However, we will do our best to cheer you up so feel free to rant, cry and eat lots of cake (or battered sausage) with the rest of us.
Hello to everybody else I've missed.
CD7 for me so time to start thinking about BDing. I've decided to follow the sperm meets egg plan Kate told us about a couple of weeks ago I'll let you know how I get on. DH told me tonight with a big grin on his face that he'd read that thing in the paper last week about men being more fertile if they BD every day so I don't think he'll need much persuading!

RosyBelle · 22/10/2007 20:44

Lilypink & 07 - me too! Not officially TTC anymore but DD will be 5 at xmas and we have reached the knowledge she will be an only child
I just feel like I've let her down!! More than me.

ILTS - what a rollercoaster week!!

I was away for a while and have been trying to catch up for a couple of days... have I got this right.... TJuice is pregnant?? Please tell me if I'm wrong! But if you are TJuice - Weeeehhhh Heeeyyyyy Congrats! Was it that dirty weekend in Paris?? I am booking my Eurostar ticket right now if it was...

Kate - how are you honey?? How are DS's appointments going with the therapist?? The pup is amazing... will try to post some more photos... DD just luvs her!

Hi to everyone

RosyBelle · 22/10/2007 20:47

Cricri - my consultant & our IVF clinic insist that everyday is worse than anything for sperm counts... they say that every 5 days is optimal...
No wonder we never get it right - always getting told different opinions

cricri · 22/10/2007 20:49

Lilypink - So sorry to cross posts with you, I didn't mean to appear so insensitive.
So sorry to hear about your latest mc, especially so soon after the last one. We'll do our best to help and I hope you get as much comfort from this thread as I have (I had a mmc at 6/7 weeks but didn't find out until the 12 week scan). Take time to grieve and look after yourself and keep talking to us. Lots of hugs.

Lilypink · 22/10/2007 21:09

Ah, you sound like a nice bunch already, I think I will like it here

Sorry, I don't know any of your histories, but can I just ask rosybelle did you fall for your DD without problems and then struggle for the next? I just can't believe that my 1st pg was so text book and now 2 mc??? I hope my eggs aren't knackered, but I'm not that old (31) - although all this stress is begining to take its toll on my 'youthfull' appearance and outlook on life

Did any of your DH/P's look after you and pamper you when you mc? I keep getting messages of support saying I hope DH is pampering you?? I got a kiss on the cheek as he left for work and his only comment is that at least I can now treat the verucca on my foot??!!

RosyBelle · 22/10/2007 21:31

Hi Lily. We tried for nearly 2 years with DD and fell pregnant after getting the 21 day blood test done (to check fertility). We then had a mc 2 yrs later (after just trying for 4months) - then a year after mc still hadn't fallen so started the madness of treatment. Had 4 months of clomid before they realised that DH has poor sperm count (only 10% motility) so went straight to IVF.
Had 2 cycles of IVF in last 12 months - both failed. Then got pregnant naturally 2 wks later only to have another mc in Spetember (hense my presence on this thread)

In addition to DH's SA I also have major PCOS which makes it hard to fall pregnant & hard to stay pregnant.
So nothing like you - you will be fine I'm sure... we found out we had lots of problems in the last 2years and my consultant calls my DD a "fluke"

We have given up ttc now as they have told us we only got pregnant as was still stimulated from the IVF drugs. We don't want anymore treatment (nor can we afford it).

Sorry for the same old story for everyone on here - sure they all heard it lots of times...

Lily your eggs are not knackered!! I am 36 & during IVF I had 100% fertilization rate which means my eggs are great! Thats a whole different ball game when that happens! It may just be the next one will be the one... they say your 1st pregnancy is the one pregnancy that is least likely to fail and it becomes easier to mc in 2nd pregnancies onwards.
