Totally agree @TheNewMrsW, I'd be the same. One of my best friends just told me this week she's expecting her second, she literally found out on Monday and told me within 24 hours! I might wait a little longer than that but couldn't imagine keeping it a secret from herfor 12 weeks.

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 04/09/2020 20:41

@RandyGiles06 @CookieMonster3001 ooh are these just rubbish Opks or should I persevere?

I need to stop telling people we want to TTC our parents know and my friends but I really wish I hadn't told any of my friends other than one who is also TTC feels like a bit more pressure.. agree that would be nice to have the support if we MC.

mackjm20 · 04/09/2020 23:46

@RandyGiles06 maybe see about rearranging the smear they can usually get them in quite quickly but it would mean waiting for the results before ttc just incase. Best to get it before as they won’t do a smear or any required treatment during. We haven’t told friends/family about plans to ttc i have mostly said it wouldn’t be until after my 30th next year just to buy myself a bit more time without the pressure :)

@TheNewMrsW well done on the 2 work outs! Hope af comes soon for you!

I think a lot of people do tell parents and besties before 12 weeks :) agreed would be so hard to hide the not drinking! Dh is adamant when we get a bfp he doesn’t want to tell anyone for 12 weeks but I agree with you about the miscarriage support. I am really high risk for miscarriage due to a blood clotting disorder which I think is why dh is putting his foot down. I guess we will see what feels right if/when it happens

@sunflowersaremyfav93 omgosh same I am wanting choc so bad at the moment lol! Good luck with starting the opks :) I ordered mine but it’s all so confusing I’m delaying until next cycle lol! Let us know how it goes :) have now seen your subsequent posts and this is exactly me trying to work them out which is why I’m now putting off until next cycle haha

@Baker0104 I feel exactly the same excited but also really apprehensive! I feel like when we get a positive and then to 12 weeks will just be excitement but until then I feel the nerves will stay haha! Saying that then I’ll probs be nervous about the birth for the rest of the pregnancy haha

@Pebbleinthesand I just thought the same about everyone being busy haha if possible this group is even more active than the Original one! Oh gosh thanks for the heads up re the caffeine you have kicked my Butt into gear and as of next week I’m going cold turkey! Better to be tired now than when potential morning sickness is an issue lol! So cute that your dd is asking if you brought her a baby yet that is adorable! Love that you will be able to do your announcement with her :)

@queenatom so glad you have moved across :) aw bless you hope you are okay after the eye injection?

@CookieMonster3001 yayyy! So exciting! That’s exactly what I have had to do! In our house ‘ntnp’ involves him not knowing dates even though I know them all off by heart haha! Way less pressure :) ahhh so excited for you :) you guys sound like you are doing exactly what we are doing :) fingers crossed!

Bless your friend! Glad she has had the house move to distract her :) hahahaha omgosh yes I watch them so quietly in fear dh will see and it will put him off hahaha! I think easier for them to be blasé when they don’t have to push the baby out lol!

Love the idea of a post saying everyones names and when they are planning to ttc as I always forget :)

@Bells3032 are you feeling better? Hope dh s.a went well? Did they say they will send results in the meantime? Keeping everything crossed for you! So nice that your best friend is planning ttc too :) will be nice for you to share with your close circle when you get your bfp as they sound like a great support network :)

Thought of the day... anyone else remember being young and the horror stories of getting pregnant from a hot tub or from ‘doing bits’ not having sex! Now I’m sat here reading about how to pee on an opk stick and thinking omg! How does that even happen when it sounds so hard and complicated to get pregnant! All these years I’ve been using contraception thinking it’s so easy to be pregnant and now I’m like how the hell to people even get pregnant haha! Xx

TheNewMrsW · 05/09/2020 00:21

@mackjm20 yes!!! Can't remember how old everyone on this thread is, I know a few are in their 20s, but I really think that the total irony of modern womanhood is to spend most of our 20s terrified to get pregnant and most of our 30s terrified not to. I used to feel smug that I have never even had a scare and now I'm like yeah as if it's that easy! Not even trying yet and I'm already freaked out by the prospect of ttc forever. Don't think it helps that the Daily Mail etc like to describe women over 30 as past their sell by date with fousty eggs 🙄

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 05/09/2020 00:30

Omg yes... me and my friend were saying this the other day, we spent all that time thinking we'd get pregnant from the one time we didn't use contraception and here we are...peeing on sticks and I'm counting grapes 😂

mackjm20 · 05/09/2020 00:57

@TheNewMrsW yess exactly haha! Omgosh I know it’s hideous the time pressures they put on isn’t it! I just can’t help but chuckle to myself and wish it was as easy as a quick fumble lol!

@sunflowersaremyfav93 laughing out loud at you counting grapes again! Hahaha! I know it’s madness isn’t it :)

Made me laugh anyway Grin

Clouless · 05/09/2020 08:32

Hi everyone!

Glad I found the new thread. Hope everyone is doing ok!
I just chuckled at counting grapes 🤣

Off to get my implant removed today eek! (If I don't get lost on way to the clinic...)

Happy Saturdays 😊

AlisonT13 · 05/09/2020 08:58

@sunflowersaremyfav93 It looks like the dye is still running on that test and the extra red dye would affect the result. Please make sure it's fully run through before taking a photo and your test should be uploaded to Others tab, not the premom tab.

Baker0104 · 05/09/2020 09:28

Had a little chuckle here this morning reading about how you spend your 20's not wanting to be pregnant and now being in 30's it's like agrh please work! 😂 I turned 31 in lockdown and that was my right this is it moment! Lol.

@mackjm20 haha I know what you mean! I think when I get a bfp I'll just start freaking out that I'm actually gonna have a baby lol. I've been a nanny for 12 years and yet I still feel like I'm gonna freak and not know what to do 😂😂

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 05/09/2020 09:33

@AlisonT13 that is soo helpful, thank you! I'll try again today 🙂

Haha I'm counting grapes, broccoli florets, Brussels..you name it..I'm def eating sooo much more fruit and veg than I ever have, it's made me realise how bad I must've been before..so hopefully I'm building up a bank of nutrients for baby to steal 😂

Also on caffeine, I have one coffee a day then I'm on either decaf tea or we recently got some decaf coffee pods..

I'm thinking I'll start taking CoQ10 and DHA from the three month mark (November) have any ladies taken either?

I've also been reading soooo many good things about preseed so I'll be buying that for Feb .. oh and wellman tablets for my bf... it's an expensive thing this baby malarkey 😂

TheNewMrsW · 05/09/2020 11:04

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I have started taking COQ10, can't hurt right?! I was thinking about preseed too, has anyone here used it?

Just watching Saturday Kitchen and Chris Ramsey is on with his wife, who's preggers, so I'm sitting taking note of all the non-alcoholic alternatives they have for her!

mackjm20 · 05/09/2020 11:08

@Clouless welcome :) good luck with the implant today :)

@Baker0104 so ironic isn’t it! Such a strange feeling isn’t it being scared and excited! aw that’s so lovely that you have been a nanny though! Have you had experience with lots of babies :)? X

BabyLlamaZen · 05/09/2020 11:10

Hello! Still have a while here but would love a thread for my broodier days whilst we wait every day

BabyLlamaZen · 05/09/2020 11:12

We were going to start in May if all goes well.

My current plans:

  • Find some work from home to keep saving money, whilst ds naps! Ambitious I know
  • Get healthier. Anyone have good tips with a 10 month old?
Baker0104 · 05/09/2020 11:37

@mackjm20 a fair amount of experience but mainly over 6 months old... So the tiny baby stage will be totally new to me. Once they're over 6 months itll feel like a walk in the park 😂

mackjm20 · 05/09/2020 16:36

@BabyLlamaZen welcome :) all sounds like a good plan good luck with the goals :)

@Baker0104 yea I bet you will be a pro 6+ months. I’m really lucky that my god daughter was born 2 years ago I was at the birth and had her regularly when she was tiny so have a little experience :) saying that if I had a boy I would feel like it was totally different lol! 2 of my friends just had babies and said it just comes naturally so fingers crossed :) x

Hello Smile
Been a long time lurker (have been reading this thread from the beginning) but finally plucking up the courage to join in the conversation!
We have been married just over 2 years, and have finally got to the point where we have run out of reasons to avoid starting our family! We have been together 10 years, and for as long as I can remember having kids has always been part of the conversation, but it has never been the right time.
We have decided for the moment to just go with NTNP, so stopped the pill this week and just seeing what happens. For a number of reasons, it is likely to be a more complicated journey for us, but to start with we are just going to go with the flow. I am medical so know quite a lot about the biology of it all, but not going to track until a few months of NTNP. Been on vitamins and folate for a few months, and I am a total planner, so working hard to try and just chill for now!!
Joining in probably just for more lurking, but have enjoyed following everyone's stories so far!

Clouless · 05/09/2020 19:15

@mackjm20

Thank you! All went well with the appointment and DH has just told me how excited he is feeling! I think I'm more scared than excited haha! 🙈

Bells3032 · 05/09/2020 20:06

Heya. We got the results of the sa today. His numbers are 200k. I thjnk the doctor was surprised that we were so pleased but that's a massive increase from 10 immobile ones.

So natural conception is deff out but at least ivf is more possible than it was so we are pleased. Being referred to a specialist and gonna try and get those swimmers in the best condition possible before we move forward.

But means I deff need to lose weight as ivf will. Only take me if my bmi is lower. So diet started today

@HotelBravoSierra Welcome! Sounds exciting, hopefully you get a positive soon.. medical knowledge will come in handy for the millions of questions we have in here too.

@Bells3032 glad you got the results and they're better than you'd hoped.. I'm with you on the weight loss, starting again Monday!! Going to give slimming world a good go again.

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 05/09/2020 22:01

This OPK biz is really confusing me 🤔 have I done this too late at night? Yesterday I had a faint line and today nothing at all? I'm starting to worry that I'm not ovulating? I did have cramps earlier.. tomorrow try at 2pm maybe that's where I'm going wrong. Does anybody use different OPks? Maybe I should get some diff ones?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 05/09/2020 22:22

Ok I've let the dye all go down and then I'm left with this.. is that about right? Does that mean I am ovulating? Sorry to be so dumb with these

Cupcakecafe · 05/09/2020 22:36

can I join?

Probably later than a lot of you as we're hoping to start ttc in May / June next year.
Originally our plan was to start in January, however due to changes to plans because of covid we've agreed to delay til early summer.
Logically I agree with my husband that this makes sense but emotionally it upsets me haha. I'm so desperate to start ttc, I want a baby so badly.

We currently have a 2.5y old, who was conceived first cycle after stopping the pill. Hoping the same happens next time but not holding my breath.

Randomness12 · 06/09/2020 00:24

Hi everyone! I’d like to join please? We are planning to start TTC #2 at Christmas (Hopefully once I’ve been given a permanent contract at work)

Have DD who is almost 4, conceived on cycle 2 and prior to that had 1 miscarriage which was conceived on cycle 1.

We’d decided on a chunky age gap or just sticking with 1. So going to give TTC a go but if it doesn’t work out for us within maybe 6 months we will stop and be happy with our lot.

Feeling nervous as I was 30 when DD was born but I’ll be 35 is DC2 comes along. I’m also a fair bit heavier than I was first time around. Need to quit the alcohol, sugar and caffeine and start the pre-natal vitamins. All planned for 1st October!!

Good luck everyone!
