@CookieMonster3001 haha. Are you both WFH? I've taken to working with a hot water bottle. Neither me or DH are stingy with the heating but I get cold really easily where as he's quite warm so it's easier this way. Good to know about the pineapple. I'm half considering getting my lining checked prior to TTC because there are medications you can take if it's too thin. But having said that I did conceive so it's not too thin to conceive. I'm just clutching at straws hoping to lower my risk of a second abruption.

@jessicalouise10 I definitely see a shadow of something there. How many DPO are you?

CookieMonster3001 · 14/10/2020 18:06

@Curiosity101 Yep both work from home. Same as you, I am always cold, whereas he is warmer than me. Saying that he is wearing 3 jumpers today. He is such a moron sometimes! haha. If it is something you are concerned about, might be worth checking out! Is it something you can speak to your GP about?

@jessicalouise10 I see a bit of a shadow too. Maybe wait a day or two and test again

jessicalouise10 · 14/10/2020 18:11

@CookieMonster3001 & @Curiosity101 I'm not getting my hopes up.. promise 😂 it looks pink in person. What is an evap line exactly? I'm 9DPO, I'll test the next few days. I know it's early but curiosity got the better of me!x

Curiosity101 · 14/10/2020 20:16

@CookieMonster3001 I'm 50:50 about it. I'd always thought light periods were a blessing. It was only after my pregnancy that I wondered if it might have been a factor. I also had placenta previa so presumably, implantation was a bit late. It all makes me wonder if a thicker lining would have helped. But then it's such a complete guess. I'm not confident in taking this to a GP, I already have a baby and I'm basically consulting Dr Google so I don't expect they'd have much time for me. I might get a scan to check my lining thickness nearer the time though.

@jessicalouise10 An evap line is where a line shows up as a result of how the test has dried. I'm not sure how common they really are, I think it's normally more likely to be a faulty test or chemical pregnancy when people describe a false positive as an evap. That shadow for 9DPO seems incredibly promising though. Fingers crossed for you. If you can wait and retest Friday I think you'll have a clear line by then if you're pregnant.

BeeBuzzz · 15/10/2020 09:48

@Curiosity101 I get that (about your exam). How long would you have to wait for the next chance? Also I’ve never tried Pinterest but I might need to give it a go :)

@jessicalouise10 no idea if that’s a line or not but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Curiosity101 · 15/10/2020 09:51

@BeeBuzzz 14 days before I'd be able to retake. I think I'm going to focus on revision tomorrow. Me and DH have a rare day off work where DS is still going to the childminder. Then we've worked out how I can do the exam at the weekend, maybe even Sunday. 🤞 We'll see how it goes.

Bells3032 · 15/10/2020 14:54

@jessicalouise10 i see a line but v faint. how many days PO are you.

Hello all i am back after a brief hiatus to get my feelings together. A quick background from me (to those who have joined since) DH had cancer as an 11 year old so had zero sperm 18 months ago. after treatment by an endocronilogist now has 750k sperm per time. which is amazing but means IVF is our only option. I my coil out September 1st and tested my AMH and was v low.

So after a visit to an IVF clinic and a male ferility specialist (Mr Ramsey) have been told the following:

  • Ignore the previous AMH result as the coil can affect it so being retested next week
  • He was seriously impressed with my husband and his treatment. Thinks it's still very early on in DH treatment and his numbers should poss double by January. Also wants him to have a scan for a small Varocele which may be affecting the quality. His motility was 60% which is nearly double normal so really happy with it.

So looks like we won't be starting IVF til January which is a bit disappointing but i want the best chance of conception i can get so happy to wait another few months. We are hoping to move next month so gives us a chance to get settled.

But most exciting of all after six weeks of testing pretty much every day I got my very first positive on an ovulation test!! hurrah!!!!!!!!! It's high not at peak yet. But it's a positive. yippeeeeeee.

Thought who else would appreciate it but you :)

@jessicalouise10 I think I can see a faint line there although 9DPO seems quite early to me.

@BeeBuzzz I use Pinterest to everything! I had a private baby board for about 2 years before TTC my DD. I think it kept me from driving DH crazy for the first few years of our marriage.

So I decided to test on Wednesday morning (11DPO) but it was BFN. I thought maybe I could see a very very faint line but I think it was just wishful thinking. I had very faint pink staining when I wiped this afternoon so I think I might be out for this month. I think if AF hasn't properly turned up by Saturday morning that I'll test then but I wouldn't be surprised if AF is here in full force by the morning 😔

BeeBuzzz · 16/10/2020 10:34

@Pebbleinthesand really sorry about your BFN. Sending a huge hug your way xxx

@Curiosity101 it sounds like it could go either way, which is quite liberating as it means there’s no bad choice! Just follow your gut on this one :)

BeeBuzzz · 16/10/2020 10:36

@Bells3032 Hello there! Thanks for sharing - it sounds like you have a lot of backstory. Huge congrats on your ovulation! :)

CookieMonster3001 · 16/10/2020 11:23

@Bells3032 that sounds very positive!! And congrats on your ovulation!!

@Pebbleinthesand I am so sorry about your BFN.

I have a whole punch of persimmons (sharon fruit) left over and I have decided to make cake out of it. Wish me luck. Anything to take my mind of TWW. 6DPO today and feel zilch.

Curiosity101 · 16/10/2020 12:10

@Bells3032 That seems like really great news about your DHs test results! And fab news about your positive OPK. Based on what you've said it sounds like you don't hold out much hope for conceiving naturally? But you're still in with a chance? Are you TTC whilst waiting for IVF?

@Pebbleinthesand Sorry to see the update. As much as we tell ourselves it can easily take a number of months to conceive it doesn't make it suck any less when you see a BFN.

@BeeBuzzz Thanks, I decided against doing the test today. I think I'll definitely do it in the next week though hopefully.

@CookieMonster3001 and feel zilch
Contrary to what these TTC boards might suggest, most people don't feel anything prior to a missed period. Don't let it get you down Smile

Curiosity101 · 16/10/2020 12:13

I'm having a great day today so far. I've relaxed my diet for the day though because me and DH have the day off work. Also, DS is with the childminder! 8 whole hours baby/toddler free! It's the first day we've had off since he was born 13months ago. We've had the odd hour here or there to run errands but I could probably count them on one hand so we're making the most of today. Grin

Bells3032 · 16/10/2020 12:23

@curiosity101 whilst there is a chance with less than a million sperm with 99% abnormals the chances of conceiving naturally are pretty negligible. Even traditional ivf would be unlikely to work. But the increase deff allows us a far better chance at icsi (when then inject the sperm directly into a egg) and every doctor we have seen seems to be pretty confident we can conceive that way. When he only had 10 sperm of even zero the chances were very low.

CookieMonster3001 · 16/10/2020 13:48

@Curiosity101 I know you are right. Sometimes its hard to think that way when everyone in the TWW forums are screaming about how many symptoms they are feeling, and I am sitting here like, yep nothing over here!! haha at least I have some yummy cake and a glass of wine waiting for me later :)

Sounds like a relaxing day!! Make the most of it before baby is back!

@Bells3032 whilst traditional IVF might be off the cards, it is positive to hear there is a pretty good chance you can still conceive using alternative methods and that's the main thing! January isn't that far away either! I feel like this year has flown by so the next 2 and half months will go quick, I am sure!

Pebbleinthesand · 16/10/2020 20:39

AF arrived in full forse this morning 😔. It's so cruel that the announcement that were not pregnant has to be such a gorey, horrible one.

I've actually been feeling better than I thought I would though. After realising this morning I decided that I was going to focus on 5 things that I'm grateful for instead of focusing on not being pregnant so I thought I'd share them with you lovely bunch.

1)My beautiful daughter
2)My wonderful husband
3)My lovely best friend
4)I'm fitter and healthier than I've ever been and this will help me to get pregnant when the time is right.
5)I'm managing to maintain my 3st weight loss and actually feel good about how I look for the first time in my adult life.

I'm not sure how long it'll last but at the moment when I'm feeling down listing my 5 things has helped keep me smiling today and enjoy my daughter rather than wishfully thinking about her having a sibling.

butterfly5291 · 17/10/2020 08:05

Hi everyone, I've been a bit quiet this week because I only went and got married on Thursday! Bojo tried to cause havoc with the plans so I had to move venue again from tier 3 to tier 2. It all worked out for the best though and we had an amazing day! I now get to use DH instead of OH!
Anyway back to TTC talk. I can't remember if I said but I ovulated a week later than normal and being so stressed I didn't hold out much hope for a BFP this month and AF turned up on Wed. I did then get to enjoy quite a few drinks on Thursday!

@Bells3032 that's all sounding really positive and the next few months will fly by, especially with Christmas. Although I do think it's going to be a strange one this year!

@Pebbleinthesand sorry got BFN but your 5 positive things to focus on is such a good attitude!

@CookieMonster3001 how are you coping with TWW? Will you wait till AF is due before testing?

Pebbleinthesand · 17/10/2020 08:13

Congratulations on your wedding @butterfly5291.

Curiosity101 · 17/10/2020 09:16

@Bells3032 I see, thank you for explaining it. Fingers crossed for you, when did you say you will get the ball rolling on the IVF? January?

@CookieMonster3001 Thing is, on these forums, people are symptom spotting. But what you notice when you look at the long time TTC threads is that most people have most of the symptoms at some point or another but it doesn't tally. I genuinely believe there are a few people who are very sensitive to HCG so probably do have symptoms earlier than others. But I also reckon they're in the vast minority.

@Pebbleinthesand Sorry to hear your update. It's never easy and you have the right to feel rubbish about it if you want. But it makes sense to try to put it in perspective and 'count your blessings' so to speak. On the flip side, you're only a couple of weeks away from your next chance!

@butterfly5291 Fantastic news Grin. That sounds like a stressful but fantastic couple of weeks? Congratulations on your marriage and fingers crossed for your next cycle.

Curiosity101 · 17/10/2020 09:21

I'm really struggling to keep to my diet today Sad. I've only had a couple of meals off in this past week and have lost less than a lb according to the scales. Given the calorie deficit I'm on it should be a consistent 2lb per week. I'm trying to remain focused as so many different things can affect it, the biggest one for me is water weight at different parts of my cycle.

For all I know I'll weigh in and in a few days and the scales will suddenly drop 3lb overnight. I've tried measuring myself with a tape measure and am definitely smaller. Eugh, I hate dieting.

Bells3032 · 17/10/2020 10:20

@butterfly5291 congrats on your marriage. Wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

@curiosity101 plan is currently January but I've got a load of tests next week so let's see what that brings. Hopefully it'll fly by but we've just moved into tier 2 here (London) so fear it'll drag painfully slowly

Curiosity101 · 17/10/2020 10:33

@Bells3032 I've got everything crossed for you, I think lots of places are more realistic about carrying on with normal procedures now so long as they legally can. Hopefully, we'll end up TWW buddies Smile!

CookieMonster3001 · 17/10/2020 10:34

@Pebbleinthesand im so sorry hun and I think thats an excellent way to think of it! Fingers crossed for your next cycle xx

@butterfly5291 congratulations on your wedding!! Thats fantastic news albeit with last min change. TWW is going OK so far, half way through! Going to be testing next Thursday (maybe Weds) as I will be 12DPO.

@curiosity101 I know you are 100% right and I actually feel a lot better about today. Off on my travels this morning so no time to think about it but I have my pregnancy tests out ready for when I return!
From years of dieting and studying a Health and Nutrition course, weight loss os not linear. As long as you know you have been in a deficit, it will come off. So much accounts for weight fluctuations so try not to let it get you down. You are doing an amazing job!

So looking forward to a break this week!! Hoping the weather holds out but if not its still away from home. Going to try make the most of it!! Can't wait for some fish and chips on the beach!!!

Curiosity101 · 17/10/2020 14:46

Thanks, @CookieMonster3001, I definitely needed the boost this morning Grin. I think every other time I've lost weight I've eaten a really consistent diet (ie. same 3 meals each day near enough) and was on the pill so didn't have the hormonal fluctuations that I have now. So my weight loss was almost perfectly linear. But... I knew it wouldn't be the same this time.

It's very difficult to stay motivated when you don't see the number dropping though Grin. And I'm sure you'll all appreciate a lack of self-control when it comes to checking things. I keep saying 'I will just weight in once a week'. Just like when the time comes for TTC it'll be 'I won't test until my period is late'. GrinGrinGrin

Your holiday sounds nice, seaside fish and chips are always the tastiest! Where abouts are you going?

CookieMonster3001 · 17/10/2020 15:46

@Curiosity101 totally understand what you mean! I used to weigh myself every morning after a poop and with no clothes on praying for a miracle haha

We are going Torquay in the first half of the week and then Cotswolds for the 2nd half. Torquay is 5 hours from us and I dont know if its car sickness but my god I feel so nauseous!!! Had to stop to buy mints.
