Honnies I’m homeee! So sorry have been totally off the radar since 22/09 and my goodness you guys have been busy so huge catch up to follow. Not as in-depth as my usual replies as work is manic and had 12 pages to read but here goes:

@Eiremogra how did your tests go :)?

@sunflowersaremyfav93 How are things progressing promotion wise? How is slimming world going? Have you got your beautiful little pup with you yet?

I am so sorry to hear you have had such a difficult couple of weeks with your test results. I really hope you get all the answers you need soon. In relation to the risk of miscarriage later in pregnancy I am in exactly the same position due to my blood clotting condition and it’s taken me a long time to get my head round so honestly if you ever want to chat I’m here sending so much love your way.

Rome is absolutely amazing and sounds like you deserve a nice break away xx

@CookieMonster3001 staycation was amazing thank you :) just read back to your post where holding to 12dpo sounds a good idea- honestly even though it was me who said that I’m not sure how people wait that long?! How are you getting on are you in the tww? Tell me all :)

@gems05 are you feeling better from the stomach bug now?

@Amy929292 how was your wedding?

@Pebbleinthesand so glad to hear your lazer eye surgery went well! So sorry to hear you were feeling so down after last cycles bfn how are you feeling now? I know exactly what you mean I’m feeling that way as even though in sept we were ‘ntnp’ and DTD once I was gutted when af arrived.

Sorry to hear about Thursdays bfn and af arriving Friday- you are so right that af arrival is just the worst on top of the disappointment sending so much love your way and glad to hear you are feeling better than you thought! Such a good idea to focus on those positives :)

@HeyDW96 how is the pregnancy going?

@KittyT30 how is your pregnancy coming along?

@butterfly5291 so sorry to hear dec wedding was cancelled! Omgosh congratulations MRS how was your day :) ah so happy for you :)

@TheNewMrsW so sorry to hear you were feeling abit blue. I totally hear you on the Christmas front it’s so sad to thing about isn’t it! Like you said good we have ttc to occupy all our thoughts!

@MsQueenInTheNorth haha such a good idea about buying oh vitamins for Xmas I’m defo stealing that idea lol!

@MrsF111 welcome. So sorry to hear about your miscarriage in April and that you had such a difficult journey. This is such a supportive group so always feel free to share x

@jessicalouise10 I can defo see a line :) have you tested again yet? Fingers crossed for you!

@Bells3032 Omgosh so glad you are back you have been on my mind a lot how are you? So glad to hear that things are sounding more positive for you :) I know January seems so far away but hopefully it will fly by and like you said give you the best possible chance :)

Huge welcome to everyone new in the last month that I haven’t chatted to yet :)

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 11:45

So now I am relatively caught up little update from me.

So September we were ‘ntnp’ but you all probably remember that that did not go so well with DTD once and me realising you can’t ntnp when one of you (ME) knows all the info to ttc haha! Also turned out dh was in on a Surprise party and didn’t want me to worry about drinking etc.

So October we have just embraced casual ttc- so I know approx dates etc from flo (I have ordered thermometer and opks but due to being on holiday have just gone with the flow this month with the intention to start that nov cycle)

So we dtd 3 times during window (mainly as what we had not factored in was the walls being paper thin next to family whilst away) but I feel okay about it like would be so so happy if it happened this cycle but equally expecting up to 12 months so have been TRYING not to obsess as much.

However I laugh typing that as 6dpo I am obsessing. The tww is hard isn’t it?! My goodness! Every tiny potential symptom I’m googling. Like am I peeing more? Or did I just not pay attention before?! I have no idea haha!

Anyway we have agreed to properly start tracking nov themo opks etc and to DTD every other day if poss to avoid any error lol!

Goodness only knows how I am going to wait until 12 dpo to test! I have a feeling this month isn’t the one as so rare to conceive on first cycle so kind of just want af out the way as I know despite trying to stay chirpy I will be so disappointed.

Who else is currently in their tww and feeing crazy like me? And who else is ttc but not currently in tww? I have totally lost track of everyone’s ttc dates :)

Anyway lots of love to you all :) missed you whilst away xx

Clouless · 18/10/2020 12:25

Hello everyone! Hope you're all ok. Wedding and puppy news is very exciting! Congratulations!

I think we've just completed our first month of trying/not trying/ since having my implant out. I've not been tracking anything except cm and using the flo app. From that I would guess I ovulated about 14 days ago and should be on my period now. I've had all the normal pre AF signs and have been spotting for 4 days. I keep waiting for her to come with a vengeance but nothing yet! It's doing my head in. Does anyone know if this is normal after stopping contraception. Can a period turn into spotting?! Thanks! X

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 12:39

@Clouless have you taken a test :)? I think af symptoms and spotting can even be present if bfp so maybe worth a test if you are late :) fingers crossed x

Clouless · 18/10/2020 13:09

@mackjm20
No I haven't. Never bought a pregnancy test in my life tbh 🤣 it feels like I'm due to properly start bleeding any moment so I think I'll just wait. Sorry! I just needed to vent as I think I'm doing DH's head in as well as my own!

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 13:35

@Clouless Omgosh no I know exactly what you mean I’m the same driving dh mad! The tww is the hardest! I was just thinking wow you have such willpower to wait to day 14 :) so was ruling that out :) hopefully you get your answers soon bless you :) xx

Curiosity101 · 18/10/2020 14:33

I have no idea how anyone has the patience to wait until their period is due. In my case my luteal phase is only 12 days anyway so I'd be unlikely to get a positive before the day my period was due anyway. Doubt that it'll stop me testing though 😂

I have some good news, DH is now onboard with TTC in January. 👍 It's nice to know we're both on the same page now. 😊

I also found out that I weighed more than I thought when I got pregnant. So I'm only 6lb off of my pre pregnancy weight. But still got 17lb or so that I want to shift before TTC. Anything at or below pre pregnancy weight is great though.

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 16:09

@Curiosity101 me either I’m 6dpo and already desperate to test haha!

That’s so exciting for you for January :) I think there are quite a lot of people on here looking at January :)

That’s amazing to only be 6lb off well done you :) xx

Curiosity101 · 18/10/2020 16:35

Thanks, @mackjm20 Smile I think you're right. There will be a lot of us starting as of January which will be nice. Hopefully, we can all keep each other sane through the TWWs Grin.

I was definitely happy to see I'm not as far off my pre-pregnancy weight as I thought. I was looking at my historic weight graph and forgot I'd lost 2lb in my first trimester though. As much as I know how sick I felt I've sort of forgotten it at the same time? I'm so prepared this time around though. I'll be straight to the GP if it gets too much. At the time I really just assumed the nausea was normal and I just needed to get on with it. Turns out debilitating nausea 24/7 for 8+ weeks isn't normal... Grin.

My preparation this time around is definitely very different to the first time. First time I just stopped BC and started DTD every other day. This time I'm definitely a lot more focused on being as healthy as possible pre TTC. Which reminds me I'll need to start taking Folic Acid in the next month or so.

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 16:49

@Curiosity101 it’s nice that you have last time to compare to see what you do differently this time round :)

I’m on the folic acid and have been trying to be as healthy as possible :) I do not look forward to any kind of morning sickness de spite how happy I would be :)

Yea so nice to have tww buddies this is my first tww and it’s driving me crazy lol! X

Clouless · 18/10/2020 17:06

I must be weird! I've never thought about testing early. Feel it might lead to unnecessary heartbreak somehow. I might change my mind at some point. Not sure we'll be trying for the next couple of months due to a possible family wedding abroad next August... although life seems ap uncertain at the moment maybe another bit of crazy is what we all need!

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 18:24

@Clouless defo not weird just have amazing willpower :) I’m only 6 dpo and losing my head haha! I know exactly what you mean though :) would be devestating to get the wrong result like you said. Oh lovely :) hope the family wedding is able to go ahead :) xxx

CookieMonster3001 · 18/10/2020 19:35

@mackjm20 welcome back!! Wow 6DPO you are not far behind me! I am 8DPO today. Been pretty chill about it. No symptoms so far and my temp has massively dropped today so dont think this will be our month!

@Clouless have you tested yet? Spotting could also be a sign of pregnancy

@Curiosity101 thata great news!! January really not that far away!

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 20:00

@CookieMonster3001 ah that’s so nice that our days are so close :) Atleast we will have some tww together :) so good that you feel chill about it. I am obsessing even though I’m sure it won’t be this month lol!

Are you planning on testing or just waiting on af? Xx

CookieMonster3001 · 18/10/2020 22:13

@mackjm20 hoping to test around 11 or 12DPO. On a staycation at the mo so cant test until I am back which is Tuesday evening. Gonna do a cheapie and if I see a line then do a proper test. Cant stop thinking about it though!!! Stressing me out lol. It a so close now that I just want to know either way. AF due 26th so dunno if 12DPO would be too early. How about you?

mackjm20 · 18/10/2020 22:19

@CookieMonster3001 it’s so tempting to just do it isn’t it. My plan was to test 10dpo on thurs as I’m due the 27th so the following tues... if it’s a bfn I will just wait until the 27th then to see if af comes :) I know exactly what you mean I just want to know to like either way!

I’ve had cramping today and felt super bloated so I’m pretty sure af may even be on her way early but if that’s the case I’m okay with it would just rather know now lol!

How is your staycation did you go to Torquay in the end :)?x

TTCWC2 · 19/10/2020 08:15

Hi all, I've been quiet on here recently due to busy work commitments and a little break away but wanted to jump back on to 'show my face.'

How is everyone doing?

We've just overcome a big hurdle that we set ourselves for TTC- we had some exam results and I passed them all which is a big step for us. Original plan was to start TTC end of the year/ start of next year but considering bringing that forward at the moment. Feels like a very big decision to officially start! Any tips on the best way to decide would be appreciated Grin

Hope you're all doing well and I've seen that we've had a few positive tests- congratulations!

mackjm20 · 19/10/2020 08:41

@TTCWC2 well done on the exam results :) that’s amazing news.

We went back and forward re when to start ttc for ages. We initially agreed to ntnp sept and oct and start ttc in nov but prepped with all this knowledge I soon realised that was not possible! So we ntnp sept and this is our first month ttc.

With us the more I read the more I realised it is likely to take a while anyway so no harm in starting :)

I know a few on here have also said with everything going on at the moment to base ttc around events etc becomes impossible as they get moved all the time :)

I guess the most important thing is whether you both feel ready? Xx

lj1995 · 19/10/2020 08:49

Hi all!
I’ve been reading some of this thread since last night. I’m 25 married with husband who is also 25.
We have a 1yo and planning TTC baby no. 2.
Our first we stopped contraception without the aim in trying 6 months after that to get contraception out of my system and I fell pregnant in 4 months. I tracked ovulation with tests to avoid sex around that time during that period.
So we were very very lucky.
This time I’m having the coil removed at the end of this month, the aim is to avoid a conception in November then start trying from December.
I would say this is our first TTC journey as our first was such a shock we didn’t expect to be so lucky.
I’ve ordered loads of one step ovulation and pregnancy tests.

CookieMonster3001 · 19/10/2020 12:43

@mackjm20 yes we did. We ended up in Salcombe altho doing a day trip today to st Ives and then Landsend. Temp gone up again a little but not loads. Still feeling nothing apart from some very dull niggling cramps so could be start of af.

@ttcwc2 well done on passing your exam!! Great news! My advice is to start on folic acid and vit d and track your periods!

@lj1995 welcome and good luck with your ttc journey!

mackjm20 · 19/10/2020 16:26

@CookieMonster3001 oh lovely :) that sounds so nice :) ah it’s the worst looking for symptoms isn’t it! I just want it to be next Tuesday now haha!

@lj1995 welcome :) wow that’s amazing from last time fingers crossed it happens nice and quickly again for you :)

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 19/10/2020 18:43

@butterfly5291 Congratulations ❤️❤️ lovely news!!

@mackjm20 Hello! So promotion - they said they’d start reviewing business services (my department in Q4) so I’m still waiting, would be great if it could just happen by the end of the year but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️
So excited about Archie coming in 3 weeks, just perfect timing with all of the fertility worry.
My ever so logical partner has said let’s wait until we’ve got our puppy before booking a trip because we might feel like we won’t won’t to leave him as such a small pup... knowing me I will not want to leave him. My partner is always right 😂

How do you cope with the thought of losing later in pregnancy? I’m really sorry to hear that as well by the way, is there anything the doctors can do to prevent the risk?

Ooh so you’re in TWW? When will you test? I’m catching up on messages so you might have answered by the time I’ve got to the top 😂

@curiosity101 woohoo not long till you start, exciting!!

@cookiemonster3001 I’m so excited for you!! Let us know once you’ve done tested please! Got everything crossed for you!!

Congratulations @ttcwc2 - our initial plan was to start in April 21 but I wanted to start earlier so that’s what we agreed on - the main factors for me were how it can take up to a year to conceive anyway - hopefully it’ll be within 6 months or sooner for us all but generally it can take longer, financially I didn’t think a few months would really make a difference, career wise nothing would change for either of us and whilst I did consider family events with covid throwing everything up in the air what will be will be. I just felt so strongly that I wanted us to try in Feb.

@lj1995 welcome and hope you’re as lucky this time round as well! ☺️

mackjm20 · 19/10/2020 19:38

@sunflowersaremyfav93 fingers crossed the promotion does happen for you :)

Archie is the cutest name I came remember if you told us the name before but if I didn’t say it then I love it :) absolutely I’m sure your beautiful little pup will bring a welcome distraction :)

Aw yea that makes sense... have you got friends or family that could have him or house sit? That’s what we tend to do to avoid kennels as way less stress for our boy :)

So I found out in 2014 that I’ve had this blood clotting condition after having a pulmonary embolism (it was really scary and I ended up in hospital). After several conversations with haematologists, gynaecologists, gps they have advised me that as soon as I am pregnant I will need to be on blood thinners... many people go on to have healthy babies so hope is not lost but it has been linked with miscarriage throughout pregnancy and stillbirth. In terms of coping with this it took me time to get my head round and to actually want to have children again as there is a risk to my life (haemorrhage during birth) and the babies life (miscarriage and still birth) but now our want for a child outweighs the concerns I guess.

We are trying to stay positive albeit cautious. I am determined to not let it take over pregnancy when it happens. However for me we will only tell close family and friends at 12 weeks. Probably more people at 20 weeks but I’m not intending doing social media posts etc as for me it would be too intrusive should anything happen. I will obviously tell you guys straight away as this is the best support group :)

I have obviously had a long time to digest all of the info but for me I wouldn’t want to keep a miscarriage a secret from those close to me but equally wouldn’t want to share heart ache with people who follow me on social media from school 15+ years ago if that makes sense?

In terms of preventing the risk the blood thinners are designed to prevent as much risk as possible and full pregnancy will be consultant lead so extra check ups etc. Honestly though one of the first drs who spoke to me said actually better to know risks and complications before you start ttc so that they can help as much as possible. So similar with you I hope they keep a really close eye and then you are in the best possible hands to prevent any complications :)

Just be kind to yourself though and try not to over worry as easier said than done but there is so much doctors can do now to help take care of you and baby :)

I am indeed in tww and as you can imagine losing my head haha! Confession I lost the plot abit this eve and went and did a test 7dpo (obviously bfn) I know it was stupid I just couldn’t resist haha! I am convinced that this one isn’t the month so just ready for af to start again now :) xx

Curiosity101 · 19/10/2020 19:38

@mackjm20 Haha, I know what you mean about morning sickness. I do hope that when your time comes it stays mild Grin

@CookieMonster3001 Thanks, it's so nice to know we're on the same page now. I honestly believe DH was worried that somehow TTC in January would mean we were more likely to have the same issue as the last pregnancy. I understand his fear in that respect, but January should be an October due date... DH is also convinced we'll conceive first month of trying, I keep telling him not to count his chickens.

How's your holiday going? Hope you've had a nice day. It's a lovely part of the country. We have family in/around Newquay so we spend quite a bit of time in the areas around Devon/Cornwall.

12DPO should be a good day to test btw, statistically, most people who test at 12DPO get a positive if they're pregnant.

@TTCWC2 I remember that feeling well. So long as you're both on board with starting to TTC then that's all you need. I don't think you ever really feel 100% ready.

@lj1995 Welcome! You're in a very similar position to me. I have a 13-month-old DS and we're planning Baby #2. We'll not be starting to TTC until January though. DS was meant to be an October baby (but arrived almost 7 weeks early). So we're waiting till January as we're hoping to aim for an October or later baby again Grin

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Sounds like it'll be an exciting time in your house! Fingers crossed for you for the promotion! And I didn't realise you were getting a puppy.

And thank you, there wasn't really much in it as DH had been suggesting February. I'm not sure exactly what changed his mind (cause I'd not been bringing it up) but he suddenly started telling me how much he was looking forward to January. I was a bit like Hmm until he explained.

Curiosity101 · 19/10/2020 19:49

@mackjm20 So much of your post resonated with me. The doctors can't tell me what caused my abruption so we had to have a long think about whether we really wanted to roll the dice on a second pregnancy. The risk of an abruption is 1/200 unless you've already had one and then it becomes 1/10. It took me several months of therapy to work through the issues I had after everything that happened. But both me and DH are willing to take the risk. #2 will absolutely be my last though!

I'm super excited for you! 7DPO definitely is a few days early though GrinGrinGrin I wont judge you if you promise not to judge me when I do exactly the same in January though. Thank god for ICs, with DS I didn't know there were any HPTs other than the expensive store bought ones like ClearBlue and FRERs.
