@Curiosity101 that makes sense! I kinda look back and regret not making the most of lockdown because I probably could have really lost a good amount of weight, but working from home is making it far too easy to snack, especially when my office is right next to the kitchen!!

Curiosity101 · 09/10/2020 13:28

Haha, trust me I'm right there with you. For me it would've happened regardless because I was on maternity leave. Embarrassingly I put on most of my weight post pregnancy. I think I only put on a few lbs whilst pregnant. I actually lost or maintained weight most weeks cause I felt so ill. But then more than made up for it after 🙈.

I'm motivated now though. I've got a goal in sight, which is to wear all my nice clothes and have another baby. And I know how my body was last time. Things like having to have a GTT and although my levels were fine, they were only just fine. So I'm hoping dropping a little bit of extra weight will make everything a little bit easier.

Pebbleinthesand · 09/10/2020 20:12

Hope everyone's alright today. I don't know what it is but I've eaten everything in sight today! I cannot be trusted to have anything nice in the house. I even ate a full bag of my daughter's Maltesers buttons, which I decided were pretty poor as a chocolate fix after the first one but continued to much my way through the whole bag anyway 🤦‍♀️.
I've jumped in the bath now to stop me from heading out to Morribobs for a tub of Ben and Jerry's.

DH came home with a reflective running jacket for me today so I may have to go out for a long in the morning in it to balance out all the extra calories of today.

Curiosity101 · 09/10/2020 22:23

I'm trying so so hard to be good but I could have easily done what you did @Pebbleinthesand. I've just about stayed on track today. The only thing keeping me on track was that we have a date night planned for tomorrow and there is a bottle of Freixenet Prosecco with mine and DHs name on it.

I also took a picture 2 weeks ago so I need to take a new picture today so I can chart my progress. I don't expect it to be visible progress yet but hopefully, over time I can see the changes. I said to my husband it's a bit like a 'shrinking bump' picture series.

Curiosity101 · 11/10/2020 08:58

Happy Sunday Grin

How's everyone doing today?

I started my day by throwing away my 2 pairs of 'fat' jeans, it felt so good. I also tried on my whole jeans collection. There are still 2 pairs that don't fit. But also 4 pairs that now do! Trying to keep my motivation high after Korean food and Prosecco last night for date night.

AMS19 · 11/10/2020 12:40

Hey @Curiosity101 - that is amazing well done!! Such a fab feeling isnt it.

All good my end. Had a weekend away with the girls so totally forgot all things TTC which was amazing and definitely needed, as only person who went knew about our plans.

Planning now to lock myself away until Christmas to stay safe!

Hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing Sunday x

CookieMonster3001 · 11/10/2020 20:26

Evening ladies!!!

Totally with you guys with eating. This weekend has felt very indulgent and drank quite a bit of wine!!

Officially in my first TWW today. 1DPO! Me and OH managed to DTD Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and ovulated on Saturday, so hope that is enough! First cycle tho so trying to be chill about it knowing theres a high chance I wont be so lucky. Busy week ahead with exams and then a week off work to go Torquay and then the cotswolds so hoping that will be enough to keep my mind off things!!

@AMS19 glad you had some lovely time away. After we get back from our trip we are planning on isolating for a while and just staying away from people in general.

AMS19 · 11/10/2020 20:37

@CookieMonster3001 ah your trip sounds amazing. I spend a lot of time in Torquay as my goddaughters live there. Your DTD sounds on point, well done! Literally that's the first time I've praised someone for having sex...
Seriously really excited for you ❤

Curiosity101 · 11/10/2020 21:58

@AMS19 it was really nice getting rid of my biggest jeans. I bought them last November to tide me over and just kept putting off actually losing weight. 🤞 Crossed for my weigh in tomorrow but things are going in the right direction.

Your weekend sounded lovely. It's nice to hear you were able to take your mind off TTC. It's all consuming at times. Argh Christmas, I'm in this really weird place right now where Christmas feels ridiculously close and really far away at the same time. So much to do between now and then but waiting to TTC seems to stretch time out. Do you have Christmas plans?

@CookieMonster3001 Oo how exciting! It's good that it sounds like you're nice and busy in your TWW. It also sounds like you've done as much as you possibly could have so you've given yourself the best chance. 🤞 This first month is your month.

CookieMonster3001 · 11/10/2020 22:03

@AMS19 haha thanks!! I feel like I need a gold star now.
We staying in Salcombe! If u have any recommendations for nice pubs to visit for a sunday roast let me know and I want to try book in advance..

@Curiosity101 thank you fingers crossed!! And well done you for getting rid of your big jeans!!! I know how good that feels!!!! Time for a new wardrobe?

Curiosity101 · 11/10/2020 22:06

@CookieMonster3001 Possibly once we get a bit closer to Christmas, depending on how the weightloss goes. I've got a lot of other clothes that are too small at the moment though so I can start wearing those. 😊

CookieMonster3001 · 12/10/2020 11:44

@Curiosity101 I am sure you will do amazing!

Trying to be a little healthier this week so started my day off with a spinach and yoghurt protein smoothie... not delicious at all, but trying to picture some hot overly buttered toast while I drink it!! lol Absolutely freezing today, so think I will have some hot soup for lunch with a wholegrain pitta and then some veggie fried rice for dinner!
Anyone else wake up and just think of all the food they are going to eat? I have to admit, after baby thoughts, food is definitely the 2nd most thought about thing in my mind!!

2DPO today and I can see how the TWW drives people a bit bonkers. I already feel like the time is dragging!! on the plus side, I have almost finished my exam (due to covid its remote and no time limit.. whipee!!) so hoping I can submit it tonight and then I want to pop into Primark tomorrow to pick up some winter clothes and some more pyjamas (obviously!)

How is everyone else doing?

BeeBuzzz · 12/10/2020 12:08

Hey everyone! It’s so great to hear about all your lovely weekends :)

I’ve also had a really nice relaxing time. It was needed!

Totally get what you’re saying @CookieMonster3001 about the wait having the potential to turn people bonkers. I’m feeling it a bit myself while I wait for DH to give me his answer. I was determined to wait for him to bring it up, but it doesn’t seem to be happening!!

I also now want buttered toast Wink

Curiosity101 · 12/10/2020 13:03

@CookieMonster3001 I'm often thinking about my next meal while I'm eating. 🙈🙉 Even before starting this diet. I just love food so much. And wine... I've been thinking though and if we are lucky enough to get baby #2 I expect I'll pretty much give up drinking for several years. I'm not getting any younger and even waking up in the middle of the night after 2 glasses of wine is starting to be noticeable. Same goes for the really early mornings.

Oo, you'll have to let us know how you get on at Primark.

Do you know when you're planning to test yet?

@BeeBuzzz I want toast too now 😭. Are you still in the planning phase of TTC? I'll keep you company if you are, we aren't starting until at least January. Although it'll be February or later based on DHs opinion.

BeeBuzzz · 12/10/2020 14:04

@Curiosity101 Why is it that toast’s so good? Glad to find another fan!

I’m actually at the waiting-to-find-out-if-DH-will-agree-to-have-kids-at-all stage. I have fingers crossed it’s a yes, so I’m getting myself ready in case, but also having to prepare myself for a no. Which is hard when I’ve been ready for a while!

But I guess you understand what that’s like too, given what you said about your own timing possibly being later x

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 12/10/2020 15:21

Hi ladies

How are you all?

I was all set to pay for my MRI privately, I thought it's £490 but in the grand scheme of things it's better for my mental health but the wait is 3-4 weeks anyway so I'd only be saving 2-3 weeks and £500 short.

I keep trying to stay positive and keep reminding myself that women do have babies with this and they can fix it. I need to stop thinking like I can't have kids.

I think all the unanswered questions and waiting just makes it so hard.

I keep taking my guts and trying to eat well but I'm now feeling like what's the point?!

CookieMonster3001 · 12/10/2020 16:14

@BeeBuzzz hopefully he has a chat with you soon!! hate waiting in limbo! and sorry to make you want toast haha especially a thick slice of tiger bread with lashings of butter!!! yummy!!!

@Curiosity101 me too!! I love food and drink haha. I know the feeling with alcohol though! I suffer from an irregular heart beat, and drinking alcohol really increases my heart palpitations so I have cut back quite a bit. I don't think I want to test until at least CD 10, and I not back home until CD 11 between my two trips so I might test then before I go away again.

@sunflowersaremyfav93 that makes sense!! for a couple of weeks you might as well save the £500 because that's still a fair bit of money. If it was a longer wait then it would make sense to pay for it privately and at least you know how much it is now should you need to go down that route! Big hugs girl! It must be really hard and its easy to say to not think about it, but that's just like telling the other two not to think about toast lol. You will get there, I firmly believe it! and in regards to eating well, it does wonders for your mental health if you feel good on the inside as well. Stay strong lovely!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 12/10/2020 18:42

@CookieMonster3001 Exactly! Hi f anything this has taught me I can't control and plan things as much as I was and to enjoy life. I'm I said to my bf I was prepared to spend £500 on a scan so let's just book a trip.. so I'm convincing him we should go to Rome in Jan 😂
I have to say the other day your message on here made me laugh out loud.. the one about your hub being drunk but needing to get laid 😂😂 absolutely brilliant.
Exciting that you're in the TWW as well, when do you plan to test?

I also read this earlier from another thread I'm in and it made me feel better..I will have a baby it just might be a little trickier than I'd have liked.

Curiosity101 · 12/10/2020 19:22

@BeeBuzzz I'm not sure, but straight out of the toaster and covered in butter... Bliss 😍. I'm sorry to hear about your situation, how're you feeling?

@CookieMonster3001Ah ok, so Tuesday next week? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

@sunflowersaremyfav93 That's pretty good news I think? 3-4 weeks doesn't seem too long? A holiday sounds like a great idea! Especially of you'll be TTC soon after! Is it somewhere you've wanted to go for awhile?

Pebbleinthesand · 12/10/2020 19:51

OMG buttery toast is amazing! I never have it at home but I used to go to a toddler group with my little group and they always served it as snack. The smell was amazing! I think all the mums just stood their salivating 😂

The TWW is killing me but I desperately don't want to test early and be disappointed. Work has been really tough the last week and I just want the good news 🤞. I don't get how Cycle days work either. Is day one your period or ovulation?

If I don't get pregnant this month I'm going to have to start learning what I'm on about because I still feel like I don't have a blooming clue🤦‍♀️

Curiosity101 · 12/10/2020 20:11

@Pebbleinthesand Day 1 of your period is cycle day 1. DPO is days post ovulation. I assumed @CookieMonster3001 meant DPO in her post as she's already ovulated Smile.

How many DPO are you pebble?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 12/10/2020 20:24

@Curiosity101 I've wanted to go Rome for so long ☺️. Yeah it's 6-8 weeks on NHS which is obv free and then 3-4 privately which is £500 so I think I may as well just wait for this scan and be prepared to pay for uterus resection surgery privately if I must. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If anybody has been to Rome and has hotel recommendations feel free to share 😀

Pebbleinthesand · 12/10/2020 20:28

Thanks @Curiosoty101 that makes sense.
I think I'm 9DPO based on when my app thinks peak fertility was. We DTD in the 3 days running up to that ovulation day and the day after so I'm hoping that was enough to give me a good shot at it.

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 12/10/2020 21:21

@Pebbleinthesand 😂 CD1 is day one of your period. Do you use an app to track it all?

CookieMonster3001 · 12/10/2020 21:56

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Rome sounds amazing!!! Something to look forward to!!

@Curiosity101 omg yes I defo meant DPO not CD. So next Weds will be 11 DPO for me and when I will be able to test! Scary!!!

@Pebbleinthesand ahh your about a week after me! Fingers crossed for you!!
