@sunflowersaremyfav93 big hugs hun! I'm so sorry about your results, and I completely echo what @AMS19 has said. You have found this out early on so doctors can do as much as they can to help you with this! I read the thread you were talking about and that woman did sound very positive about her pregnancy apart from having to be monitored closely, but it just goes to show that it is definitely possible to have a child and you have to try and be as positive as possible. We are all here for you!!

BeeBuzzz · 06/10/2020 14:15

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I’m so, so sorry to hear what you’re going through. I’m sending you a massive hug.

If you can, give yourself the rest of the day off from EVERYTHING. Do whatever feels nourishing (for me that would be a long bath, funny movie and chocolate!). Just let yourself be.

You will get through this.

Lots of love xxx

Curiosity101 · 06/10/2020 14:44

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Your poor thing 😔. It sounds like you and your partner are staying strong and supporting eachother through this though which is so important. I have everything crossed for you and hope once it's been fully investigated they will be able to give you a solution. It's also great to know that others in your situation have carried successfully to term.

I know it's not the same at all but I probably have some understanding of the fear of pregnancy you're talking about. I had a full placental abruption in my pregnancy. I actually started bleeding at around 7-8 weeks pregnant on and off. My first biggish bleed was around 23 weeks and I was sure I was never going to meet my little guy. But I did, and I honestly believe you will too.

If you can, try and do something nice for yourself today. 💐

Smushty14 · 06/10/2020 21:50

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I'm so sorry that you didn't get the results you hoped for. I know it is so difficult to think of the positive but I completely agree with @AMS19 and @CookieMonster3001 💜 Sending you a big hug and I hope you have a few days just to munch lots of chocolate and give yourself a bit of self love.

I've just started bleeding tonight. I took my last pill on Friday. With everything going on with buying the new house and still waiting on the mortgage after 38 working days, I'm so unsure as to whether to start taking the pill again on Saturday or whether to just go with NTNP. We were aiming for completion on Friday 2nd but that wasn't possible, now it's potentially Friday 16th but I don't think that will happen as we are still waiting on the mortgage. Hopefully we will be in by the end of the month but hey ho.

I hope you are all keeping well 😘

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 06/10/2020 22:07

Thank you ladies, I'll be just been crying on and off all day I haven't been told I can't have children so I need to keep positive but gosh I really feel all over the place.

It's 8 week wait for the next scan mum thinks I should wait rather than end up spending god knows how much on private but the thought of waiting just really upsets me, we wanted to start trying in Feb? Can we even do that now?

AMS19 · 07/10/2020 07:45

@sunflowersaremyfav93 8 weeks isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things, especially if not starting until Feb. But...if you feel like it is going to eat you up for the next 8 weeks then do what you need to do. Money genuinely means nothing compared to mental health. So, if you feel you will spend the next 8 weeks in a dark place, and you won't drown yourself in debt, then my advice is prioritise your mental health over your bank balance

@Smushty14 you are in such a similar place to me. Took my last pill 13th Sept, had my withdrawal bleed and now patiently (ha!) Waiting for AF to come. Then plan to see what happens....

CookieMonster3001 · 07/10/2020 11:31

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I do think 2 months will fly by, considering how quickly this year has gone already, but if you are dead set on TTC in Feb, maybe just have a look at alternative options elsewhere? Again agree with @AMS19 if it is going to put strain on your mental health, then just do what you need to do. Have you found out how much it might cost to go private and if it is something you can feasibly do?

CookieMonster3001 · 07/10/2020 11:32

I got my first flashy smiley today on the CB digital! Except OH is in a bad mood, grouchy and tired. Great start lol.

AMS19 · 07/10/2020 11:36

Oh no @CookieMonster3001 get him some nice to eat and cheer him up 😂😂

CookieMonster3001 · 07/10/2020 12:13

@AMS19 I think he is just fed up with working from home. He is such a social person and I think the lack of social interaction is really getting to him now! I might give him a double dose of chocolate later in the hopes that it perks him up! Fingers crossed!

Curiosity101 · 07/10/2020 12:30

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I couldn't agree more with @AMS19. It's worth looking into your private options if you don't already know what it could cost. Also, do you or your partner have health insurance with work? Sometimes they'll cover all or partial treatment so that might be another avenue to look into.

@CookieMonster3001 Yay for the flashy smiley, what CD are you? Shame about your DH, this situation is incredibly tough on sociable people/extroverts. What are his favourite things? If it were my DH I know a couple of beers and a takeaway would sort him right out. Although not so much food that he's then too full! Grin

Can he start organising something to socialise with friends digitally over the weekend? Have a zoom party and play some digital games/have a few drinks if that's his kind of thing?

Curiosity101 · 07/10/2020 12:35

I weighed myself this morning. After all the stress, lack of exercise and illness of last week I was very hesitant to step on the scales. The diet was well and truly paused last week, we had 4 takeaways in total! Even under normal non-diet circumstances we normally only have a maximum of 1 a week. I also drank quite a bit of wine...

Fortunately, I'm the exact same weight I was before last week went so downhill. So no losses last week, but also no gains! Still 6lbs down but will now be back to making progress again. Smile

AMS19 · 07/10/2020 12:47

@Curiosity101 amazing well done! Love it when it isnt as bad as expected

@CookieMonster3001 are you somewhere in lockdown? If not, why not break out and go to the local pub for dinner and a couple of drinks? Even getting out the house can sometimes really help!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 07/10/2020 12:48

Thanks and you're all so right I know what I'm like and it will eat me up, I spoke to the docs secretary today and she's going to let the gynaecologist know I want the scan privately to speed it up.. I have private healthcare but it doesn't cover fertility so I'd need to make sure I don't mention that. The fact that it couldn't effect my kidneys is something I'm going to highlight though as a problem with my anatomy.

I'm also just binge eating complete and utter crap.. I said to my bf I'm so pleased we have that food and wine tasting tomorrow will be an opportunity to go out and not cry!

Thank you all for your support as well, so so pleased to have this thread to speak to you all 💐

CookieMonster3001 · 07/10/2020 12:52

@Curiosity101 I would 100% recommend beer and food to him, but he is not only a fitness freak but so bad at dealing with change, so anything out of the ordinary for him stresses him out! Defo will be getting the beers out this weekend though!! He also knows we are DTD tonight so maybe that's playing on his mind! He is his own worst enemy, he started off with not wanting to know what dates I had in mind for DTD, he just wanted to go with the flow, then last week he insisted I tell him so that he knows. Maybe I should have just told him I don't know lol.

Well done on maintaining your weight though! Defo better than gaining! And hope you are both feeling a bit better now!

CookieMonster3001 · 07/10/2020 12:54

@AMS19 luckily we are not anywhere that's in local lockdown, but I also know he wont want to go out on a weekday. I am planning a nice long walk after work, so hoping it doesn't pour it down!

@sunflowersaremyfav93 food and wine tasting sounds lovely and defo will take your mind off things!

Curiosity101 · 08/10/2020 15:07

How's everyone doing today? I'm on annual leave for the day so enjoying a mummy and baby day. Just having a sneaky break while DS is napping. I'm watching an old (very old) episode of Galdiators. 😆

I also weighed in this morning, just out of curiosity, and I'm down 2lb on yesterday. So I reckon I probably did lose a tiny little bit of weight last week and I was just carrying a bit more water and such after all the salt from the takeaways. That makes me 8lb down, 11lb until pre pregnancy and 18lb until target. About 9 weeks hopefully, not that I'm counting....

Pebbleinthesand · 08/10/2020 17:29

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds like a lot to process and deal with.

@Curiosoty101 sounds like you're a woman with a plan with your weight loss. Are you following anything in particular or just watching what you eat? I'm close to the bottom of my target range with SW and I'm tempted to lower it but I'm hoping that not changing it and just being near or below the bottom of the range will put me in a good place to not put on too much and be healthy when I get pregnant.

@CookieMonster3001 hope you managed to get him in the mood for last night.

Anyone else currently in the 2WW? I'm fine when I'm awake but my subconscious is baby obsessed! I had the most bizarre dream about breastfeeding and forgetting to feed my baby the other night 😂

Curiosity101 · 08/10/2020 19:15

@Pebbleinthesand I'm definitely focused, I'd like to enjoy being my ideal size for a little while, but equally am hoping to TTC in the new year. So the faster I can get back to my ideal weight the better.

I'm following The Fast800 this time. I'm a prolific yo-yo dieter though Sad. Every time I tell myself that I'm going to just do the diet to lose the bulk of the weight and then I will improve my lifestyle to make sure it stays off... Maybe this time will be the time Grin.

Normally I do 1000 calories a day when I want to lose weight. TheFast800 is basically a Keto diet and calories vary from 800-950 per day. It's not necessarily a healthy diet, but I take a multivitamin and with it being high protein and high-fat meals it definitely helps minimise hunger from blood sugar levels dropping.

How do slimming world work and how are target weight ranges work? How long have you been doing it?

Haha, subconscious baby dreams. I've been there and we're not even trying yet! Grin

Pebbleinthesand · 08/10/2020 20:35

@Curiosoty101 basically pasta, veg, fruit etc are all free foods and you then get a fibre and a calcium allowance each day. Everything else has a syn value so it's basically calorie counting but it does it for you. Target ranges work that you can go 3lbs above or below your target weight without having to start paying again. I started doing SW Jan 2019, got to my target for the summer that year but then put a bit of weight back on. I've been back at my target since June now and I'm manage to stick with it a lot better than I have before.

Fast 800 sounds interesting. I've had a go at 16:8 intermittent fasting before to give me a boost but I've never tried fast 800.

Curiosity101 · 08/10/2020 20:52

The Fast 800 works well for me. But the only reason I'm really following it is that it takes the effort out of meal planning/calorie counting. I've put a few of the recipes into MyFitnessPal using the exact items I used and I've found that their calorie estimates for their recipes have been pretty much the same as MyFitnessPal. So I just pick from their recipes to make my meal plan or leave it as the default one that gets generated each week.

I do miss pasta, potatoes and bread. But it's not forever. I was saying to my DH that we should consider sticking with this diet once we're at our target weights but just add carbs to the recipes to boost the calories.

CookieMonster3001 · 09/10/2020 09:58

Morning all!!

I got my static smiley today followed by a very strong positive, so aiming to DTD today and tomorrow in the hopes that that will be enough!

DH met up with 2 of his friends yesterday as he was feeling so down, well the sod ended up getting absolutely smashed off his face, walked home topless at 2am and then threw up all over our new cream carpets! Barely slept a wink last night and my BBT was super high this morning, but I put it down to the fact that I was awake most of the night.

He is hungover as hell, and I am trying not to be mad at him because I need to get laid today! lol, he is sleeping the alcohol off as we speak so hopefully he will be good to go in a few hours!

I imagine I will ovulate tomorrow, so my first TWW will start on Sunday! eeek!

@Curiosity101 well done on the 2lb loss!! That's fantastic! I have been doing the 5:2 fast diet on and off for 3-4 years and initially lost 3 stone doing it! It worked so well for me, recently not so much, but I know its because I haven't been that strict with myself, and I have been reluctant to do it recently as I wasn't sure if the restriction would effect TTC?

Curiosity101 · 09/10/2020 13:12

I am trying not to be mad at him because I need to get laid today!

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don't think I've seen many comments that made me chuckle as much as that did. Good luck!

I've no idea if it would affect TTC. I've read a number of times that rapid weight loss does affect your cycle though. And at other times when I've lost weight I've found that even when I was on the pill I'd have a breakthrough bleed a week or so after starting the diet. I'd read your body stores quite a bit of oestrogen in fat cells. So initially your body can react to the large increase in oestrogen. I found that it brought AF on early this month with a lot of spotting either side. I'd also normally be due to ovulate tomorrow but have no real signs of ovulation yet. So it definitely seems to be affecting predictability at the very least. It's one of the reasons I want to get it all sorted and out of the way now. So my body can settle a bit prior to TTC.

Curiosity101 · 09/10/2020 13:15

I ordered a thyroid check today by the way. I was reading up on causes of placental abruption and noticed a correlation between Hypothyroidism and abruptions. I had a look at the symptoms associated with it and figured I do tick some of them (especially always being cold!). It wasn't enough for me to ask for a test from the GP but I've paid £45 for a home test kit that you post back to the company. I'm not expecting I have an issue, but if it hints at anything I'll book an appointment with the GP.

It felt like a slippery slop of self diagnostic testing though 😅🤣. But I don't plan on getting anything else checked...

Curiosity101 · 09/10/2020 13:16
